Pesach From Different Perspectives

laitman_249-03Question: What is the difference between the Kabbalistic explanation of our world and Pesach (Passover), and the usual explanation we have known since we were children?

Answer: There are several levels that explain reality, existence, creation, development and the goal of man in it. When we speak about Pesach, for example, we can speak about:

  1. The historical period of slavery our nation spent in Egypt.
  2. A person’s enslavement to his ego in Egypt, to his Pharaoh.
  3. The development of the created being, of the desire, under the influence of the Light, the Creator, and under the influence of darkness, Egypt, and Pharaoh.

At the same time we can speak about different levels:

  1. The technical fulfillment of the rituals that in our language are called Mitzvot (commandments),
  2. The psychological fulfillment of the commandment of “love thy friend as thyself,” as the general commandment and order of the Creator, which includes all the other commandments and orders as it says in the Torah: Love thy friend as thyself is the great rule of the Torah,
  3. The Kabbalistic influence of the Upper Light on the worlds and through them on the souls that undergo different phases of development and their spiritual correction.

Like A Bundle Of Reeds—Living In An Integrated World, Part 5

Like A Bundle of Reeds, Why Unity and Mutual Guarantee Are Today’s Call of the Hour, Michael Laitman, Ph.D.

Chapter 10: Living In an Integrated World
An Integrated World Requires Integral Education

The Keys to Unity

To design a more cohesive society, whose members are responsible for one another, people need to cultivate a few ground rules.

1) Food and other necessities: First and foremost, people must have food security. Without the confidence that they can feed their children and themselves, people will not feel they are integral parts of society because they will constantly be fighting for food (if not physically, then mentally).

Additionally, it is imperative that people have sufficient security concerning medical services, housing, clothing, and education. All the above will vary depending on the average standard of living in each locality, but basic sustenance must be provided for all at a level that preserves their dignity as human beings and as integral members of society.

In return for guaranteeing basic sustenance, all members of society will go through some form of training, which will help them understand the interconnected and interdependent nature of our world—which is why they are receiving these services. They will learn that being in a society that ensures their well-being also entails some duties. These will relate to people’s attitudes toward each other, as well as to their contribution of time or services for the common good.

For instance, making certain that all children receive basic education does not have to cost the state a penny. It can be done through unemployed teachers who voluntarily work in return for basic sustenance. This measure will contribute significantly to the social cohesion of the community, and along with the afore-mentioned training will be perceived as partaking in forming a better world, thus giving people another positive incentive to exert for the community.

2) The training: We have already mentioned the training that will help people understand the interconnected and interdependent nature of our world. The Integral Education social paradigm suggests that every citizen, even every resident of the country will partake in this training.

The training has a twofold purpose—a social one and an economic one. The economic purpose, which is more of a supplementary benefit than an actual goal in and of itself, is to furnish people with the knowledge required to support themselves in times of meager income. That part of the training will include consumer education (personal finance), so people can manage their households in an economically viable manner using limited resources.

The other, more extensive part of the course will include topics pertaining to the perception of oneself as part of a greater whole that shares a common goal. This perception is imperative to the society’s cohesion. Without it, it will be each man for himself, a dog-eat-dog society.

The growing dissonance between this type of society and the aggregative direction of today’s reality will no doubt heighten the already excessive pressure on people’s social functioning, and the result will be society’s meltdown. If that happens, as history proves and as described in the previous chapters, the Jews will be held at fault, the consequences of which are anyone’s guess.

Therefore, below are topics that I believe should be included in the IE training in order to usher people into a more cohesive, and therefore sustainable worldview:

  • Interconnectedness in economy, culture, and society, and what it means to each of us. This topic will detail the evolution of desires and how, at the fourth level, we wish to enjoy wealth, power, and fame, meaning self-centered pleasures, and that these desires drive us to connect, albeit negatively, in order to use one another.
  • Interdependence—why we have become interdependent and how it should affect our relations on the personal, societal, and political levels. This topic should continue the explanation of the evolution of desires and show why our desires to exploit one another make us more dependent on each other. As these desires cause us to engage in ever-tightening relations, while harboring inherently ill intentions toward each other, we are growing increasingly interconnected because we want to use one another. Yet, we are equally interdependent because we are dependent on others for the satisfaction of our wants.
  • Improving social, emotional, and mental capacities:
    • Learning how to cope with joblessness and the resulting financial insufficiency, stress, and depression.
    • Communication skills such as learning how to listen, how to express one’s emotions and needs clearly, to respect one another, and how to read body language. The goal here is to defuse aggression and establish better mutual understanding.
    • Resolving domestic conflicts in a non-violent manner.
    • Socializing as a means of learning, self-enrichment, mitigating tensions, and restoring self-esteem.
  • Media consumption: As stated above, mass media is the most powerful tool in shaping our views and values. For this reason, wise consumption of media can reduce aggressive tendencies, encourage prosocial behavior, and provide essential information and understanding of the world and our place within it. To be sure, the term, “media,” relates not only to the TV and radio, but also to the internet, newspapers, and some forms of pop culture, such as movies and popular music.
  • Time-management skills: Learning to use one’s time for personal enrichment, expansion of social circles, acquiring new or improved professional skills, and nurturing stronger and more solid family ties.
  • Qualifying trainees as trainers for future courses and trainings.

Also, where physical attendance is possible, the training will be given through social activities, simulations, group work, games, and multimedia presentations. The learning will not be in the traditional teacher-class frontal format. Rather, the teacher and students will sit in a circle and converse as equals, thus learning through mutual enrichment and sharing. Where physical attendance is not possible, the educational framework will be largely interactive, with examples and activities designed primarily for eLearning.

The results of such a training should be twofold: 1) understanding how to manage one’s personal life in today’s volatile social environment and economic instability; 2) understanding that there is a natural law galvanizing this unfolding, that that law is as stern and inexorable as gravity, and we must therefore master these new means of coping for our own good.

While we all have to know how to manage ourselves under the Law of Interdependence, imposed on us by the Law of Bestowal, the Creator, it does not mean that everyone will have to study Kabbalah. Those who wish to study may do so, but those who have no desire to attain the Creator will contribute just as much to the “super-organism of humanity,” to use the words of Christakis and Fowler, by simply living out the laws of mutual guarantee without attaining the inner workings of Creation.

Just as you do not need to be a qualified electrician to switch on the light successfully and safely, not everyone must be a Kabbalist, or an “expert in the workings of the Law of Bestowal,” to use a more contemporary phrasing, to successfully and safely apply the Law of Bestowal to their lives. After all, this law exists in order to do good to His creations, as we have learned in Chapter 2. Therefore, all we need to learn is how to use it properly, just as we have learned how to use electricity, gravity, magnetism, and any other natural law or force to our benefit.

That said, just as electricians build the systems that everyone uses safely without any professional knowledge, Kabbalists will have to build the social and learning systems that inculcate the quality of bestowal into society, so everyone may use these systems beneficially, even without any knowledge of Kabbalah.

3) The round table: A means that is of primary importance, and hence merits an item all to itself, is the round table discussion format. In this type of discussion, all participants are of equal status and represent different, often opposing views on subjects that are critical to the well-being and soundness of the community, city, state, or country.

The goal of the deliberation is neither to reconcile differences nor to induce compromise. Rather, the goal is to find a common denominator that stands above the conflicts and disputes. The result of finding such an element is that the topics in dispute suddenly seem far less important than before, and pale in comparison to the unity and warmth the participants now sense toward each other. Subsequently, solutions are easily found for previously persistent conflicts in a spirit of good faith, owing to the newly discovered common interest.

In Israel, several organizations and movements have implemented the round table discussion format. The Arvut (mutual guarantee) movement, for instance, has implemented this means of deliberation hundreds of times, and every time this format was used, it was reported as a major success by the participants themselves. In this manner, issues that had not been resolved for years were resolved in a matter of hours.

So far in Israel, this has been tried in big cities, villages and kibbutzim, in Arab and Druz villages, bringing together the most extreme right wing Judea and Samaria settlers with Arabs from the West Bank, in the Knesset (Israeli parliament), and within struggling populations such as immigrants from Ethiopia and the former Soviet Union. These events ended with a profound sense of unity and warmth 100 percent of the time. For video-recorded testimonials and more details on the round table discussions visit http://www.arvut.org/en/round-table.

Round table discussions have been conducted around the world, as well. New York and San Francisco (USA), Toronto (Canada), Frankfurt and Nuremberg (Germany), Rome (Italy), Barcelona (Spain), St. Petersburg and Perm (Russia), are just some of many places where this form of discussion has been implemented, all enjoying the same resounding success as in Israel.

In the spirit of equality, the actual deliberations also involve the audience, and follow this procedure: A panel of individuals of diverse, often conflicting backgrounds and agendas sit around the main table. The panelists express their views on a topic declared by the host of the event.

Next, the audience asks the panelists questions, to which one or more of them replies. It is an unbreakable rule that panelists must not reproof other panelists or interfere with their words. Personal criticism is also strictly prohibited. This way, the audience hears a variety of views that do not oppose one another, but rather complement one another.

Subsequently, the audience divides into multiple round tables and discusses questions posed by the host in the same manner and spirit demonstrated by the panel. Finally, the tables reconvene into a general assembly and each table presents its conclusions, as well as shares its impressions from the event as a whole.

Recently, even some online round table discussions have been tried, and they, too, were very successful. Naturally, each place has its unique mentality, and each vehicle—a live event, an online meeting, or a TV broadcast—has its advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, no two events are the same. Yet, the spirit of camaraderie and the commitment to mutual guarantee that stand at the basis of every such discussion ensure the success of these unique deliberations. Although the vast majority of societies is still a long way from living out the concepts of mutual guarantee, these discussions, as the video recordings demonstrate, manage to induce a genuine sense of what living in mutual guarantee will feel like.

Did The Splitting Of The Red Sea Really Happen?

laitman_749_02Question: Was there ever a miracle that the Red Sea parted and the Israeli people went through it when they fled from Pharaoh?

Answer: The Torah doesn’t talk about events of our material world. It talks only about what happens between our souls. In this sense, we pass through an inner spiritual state called “Crossing the Red Sea.”

The exodus from Egypt and the freedom from the slavery of Egypt is freedom from the control of our ego, from the “Angel of Death.” In principle, on the way to this freedom, we move through some kind of passage called crossing the Red Sea. It symbolizes the end of Egypt, the end of our ego, after which we can become a free people.

A unique force of unity is hidden within nature that is called the Creator. When we invest in efforts to unite, to get closer to each other against our desire, then through these efforts the higher power creates a state where “splitting the Red Sea” will be discovered. It moves us from the egoistic nature to a nature of bestowal and love.

The Freedom Gene

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: The celebration of Passover is a special opportunity to learn something new about oneself, about our people, about our society, and make a qualitative change in our relationships to each other.

Rav Kook wrote that if the people of Israel once had not made this transition from slavery to freedom, the whole world would have never been able to make such a change. Is it true that the people of Israel affect the whole world so much?

Answer: The people of Israel are a special group of people that were selected from the entire world and came out from ancient Babylon in order to unite.

Today, the whole world is in the same mutual hatred, which once was revealed only between the Jews during the destruction of the Temple. Due to this hatred, Jews fell from the height of unity to the level of this world, and that means going into exile.

Today, the Jewish people are mixed with the entire world, and we all are in the same state, which is called Egypt or the slavery of mutual hatred.

Since the Jews have already exited this slavery, we have memories, the genes (Reshimot) of that previous state. This is why we must lead everyone else in exiting this terrible state the whole of humanity exists in now and in setting an example to everyone, meaning, being “a light to the nations of the world.”

Now this task is for the people of Israel who are living in the land of Israel. This is why we were able to come back here. We must realize our mission for the benefit of the whole world. After all, the purpose of creation is that all of humanity become one people, one family, as it is written in the Prophets.

Everything About The Revelation Of Love

Dr. Michael LaitmanQuestion: Why is it that only the wisdom of Kabbalah has an answer about the meaning of life?

Answer: We look for answers in a clear, scientific manner and don’t believe what someone has written in some books. I have to attain the answer by myself. The wisdom of Kabbalah is based on accurate attainment, as it is said, “a judge only has what his eyes can see.” Attainment is the clearest understanding a person can have. That’s the way it should be.

Therefore, when we engage in the Kabbalistic method, we acquire scientific research tools and discover everything until we have no doubts remaining. It is through the wisdom of Kabbalah that I discover the tools, opportunities, and attributes inside me, by which I can reveal the Creator, the network that connects all of creation and the upper world.

I live in two worlds. My body lives in this world and at the same time I feel an upper reality. But only I feel it since only I attain it. Anyone who wishes to feel the same thing has to undergo the same path of study and exercises, and then he will gradually reach the revelation of the upper reality.

Question: You always talk about revelation, the revelation of the force that surrounds everything, the one force that operates in nature. Does that mean that there is something that exists now but I simply don’t feel it?  What does it mean to reveal?

Answer: There are many phenomena that you are not aware of and that you don’t detect. Do you perceive or receive radio waves? No. There are many phenomena taking place around us, but we don’t perceive or receive them. We have simply built different instruments by which we can detect such phenomena. But according to the wisdom of Kabbalah, we cannot build external devices. We are the ones who have to change internally; because our perception, our mind and our feelings are limited, we have to expand them. Because we have to discover the general force of nature that is called the Creator, which stands for Bo-re, (come and see), we have to attain the state in which we will see Him, which means to reveal Him and reach attainment.

Question: What do I have to do when I attain the revelation of the upper reality?

Answer: The revelation itself obliges you just as any revelation in this world that obliges you to behave differently, because you actually change according to it. It is then that new knowledge and feelings fill you.

Question: But how does the revelation of the upper reality, of the Creator, fill me?

Answer: You feel that you are filled with love of others. It is an immense change a person undergoes. It is because love thy friend as thyself, the law of mutual guarantee, is the general law of the upper reality, and we have to ascend all the way to it and exist within it.

The Thought Of Creation Is A Precondition For Pesach

Dr. Michael LaitmanPesach (Passoever) is a holiday that is always with us, because on the spiritual path we always have to be in a state of transition (from the Hebrew word “pe’sach“- skipping over, selecting), that is, constantly moving forward.

Pesach is not an historical story or a point on the evolutionary timeline, but a day to day development, from one hour to the next, every second. It is about the development of the created being in all his parts on the levels of the still, vegetative, animate, and speaking nature. If we want to understand the essence of this holiday, we must look globally at the history of the created being’s development.

A Created Being Free From the Creator

Man was created the opposite of the Creator. The Creator is the attribute of goodness, love, and bestowal, and therefore He can create, expand, unite, and revive. It is a thought or a force whose role is to create the created being who resembles Him.

However, the difference between the two must be determined so that the created being will be able to exist in unity with the Creator. If the created being were like the Creator, he simply would merge with Him.

So what is it to be opposite and at the same time similar to the Creator? This is the only way he can feel himself, feel the Creator, attain Him, and be in adhesion with Him. These are very complex concepts that will be more clear later on.

The created being must exit the Creator, draw away from Him and not feel His influence so that he can develop. He must feel that he is free. How can he be free of the one great force in creation? After all, there is none else besides Him, and everything is included in Him. He doesn’t take up any volume, and there is nothing external to that volume. In our world, there are limitations of time, space, and motion, while in the spiritual world, there is no such thing. There is only one, unique force, which is limitless and rules beyond time, motion and place.

How can the created being appear, have a place, have his own freewill, understanding, feeling, desire, action, influence, a beginning and an end? There is a problem: How can the created being be taken out of the Creator? Another created being that is different from the Creator and opposite Him must be created. There is no other way! You are either totally adhered to Him, and you don’t exist; or you are totally detached from Him, and then you exist.

However in that case, you are completely opposite from him and don’t feel Him at all, since you have no similar attributes, thoughts, or feelings. You are on two different dimensions, and you don’t connect. This is actually the state the created being should be brought to. The created being who initially was created is constantly with the Creator, under His domination, and so all the attributes that are opposite from the Creator are not revealed. Then, the Creator conceals and restricts Himself and the created being begins to feel that he is free of Him, as if he were the only one who exists in nature, in his desire to enjoy.

If the Creator is the attribute of love and bestowal, the created being becomes the opposite, the attribute of receiving and hatred, in order to feel independent. In that case, he is torn to pieces, and each of them is opposite the other. This happens similar to the way that the internal energy of huge masses of celestial objects explode in space. On the whole, this is exactly how the Big Bang in our universe occurred. This is where the evolution of the still, vegetative, animate, and speaking natures begins: through the differences between them as one swallows the other in a struggle of opposites.

The Essence of Man – The Struggle of Opposites

With each generation, people discover that they are becoming increasingly more egoistic and opposite one another. Although they understand that they should cooperate with one another, they cannot do so because they are made of two polar forces. One of them stems from the Creator and the other is opposite the Creator. The struggle between these two opposites is the basis of mankind and distinguishes him from the still, vegetative, and animate natures, because the two forces develop in parallel within him, complementing one another. Although they are in constant oppositeness, they still exist in a certain symbiosis.

We are like kids who cannot play together amicably. We must take something from the other: I will not give to him and will not play by myself. In other words, we cannot overcome our egoistic nature.

We were not created equal in these characteristic attributes. We were not made clever so that we could restrain our egoistic impulses with our minds. We can begin to understand that it isn’t about us, but as soon as we engage with others, we begin to work with our egoistic instincts, which are more powerful than our mind.

When we speak about friendship and unity, we truly believe that we must be together, but the moment that we must fulfill that, we forget about it. If I work only according to my mind, I can imagine that the entire world is filled with pleasure, delight, unity, and love. However, the moment I touch my egoistic desire a bit, everything immediately disappears and I want to erase the others from the surface of the earth so that I will not have to see them at all.

We were made that way and our desire cannot be balanced by our minds. It is impossible to naturally attain what all the philosophers and humanists dream of.

In the Cruel Grip of the Ego

Man’s nature is evil, and the more we advance, the more repelled we are from goodness and everything that has to do with good relationships between us. Mutual oppositeness develops inside us and we cannot get along with one another, not in the family, at work, or in daily life—not anywhere and not in any way.

When we expand in our ego, we draw away from one another and reach a state in which space suddenly collapses and becomes limited. We have developed in different directions for many years and suddenly have discovered that there is nowhere else to which we can escape. It is as if we are in an huge building, unable to get out.

However, the ego makes us feel repulsed by one another, and we want to escape as far away as we can from others because we feel the greatest comfort when we don’t depend on others, when we have no relationships with others and actually don’t care about anyone. It makes no difference if we suppress others because we don’t want anyone or anything to begin with. We want to be alone!

On the whole, everything advances toward the state in which a person remains alone. At the same time, there is the growing feeling that we are all in one building, in one limited space, that we depend on each other, and cannot escape anywhere.

What should we do so that a person will feel good and comfortable in this world? If we learn the plan of our evolution, we will see that we were created that way on purpose so that having developed our egoistic desires, we will begin working on connection and unity. This is where we reach a state that we don’t understand at all. How can we join our egoistic efforts, impulses, attributes, and motions?

In Europe, for example, there are more than 30 countries. They are all egoistic and all have huge problems. These problems may be solved together, but not one can overcome its ego and connect with others. They hold different committee meetings and summits, discuss different issues and make decisions, but nothing works out. Nothing! They don’t have a method that can overcome the overall separation. We don’t need to find a centrifugal force but need a centripetal force that will focus us on the point of unity between us. We see that our minds can recognize this problem only partially, but it cannot overcome our nature since it wasn’t made for that.

We are like small, miserable creatures who lead themselves to slaughter. Notice that now we are speaking in a totally calm manner about a third world war, as if it is inevitable and near. We don’t want to have children, and if we do, it is only because it gives us a pleasure, something to worry about, a fulfillment, because we need something in life. There are, however, many people who believe that it is also pointless. They give up having children and we accept that. On the other hand, why do we need so many people on this planet? There is no point in that. Let’s not have children, and that’s it. We usually suffer when someone dies, but if he were never born, there would be no need to suffer.

The Force that Can Unite Us

The current state of humanity brings us to a very interesting point in our evolution. We must discover the force that ties us together above our ego. Otherwise, we will not be able to exist as a civilization. What is more, this force must unite us despite our egoistic nature, which we cannot change and that will continue to develop the way it always has: internally, instinctively, and naturally. Today, it pushes us to perform different new actions, arranging us in our places in our mutual problems and relationships. We must find another force.

Can we attain that by using our mind? I doubt it. I see that even philosophers, scientists, economists, politologists, and sociologists don’t understand that. Although they see that we have reached a dead end, subconsciously they feel that there is nowhere we can find this force, so why deal with fantasies? They don’t understand that there is no other nature but evil, human nature, which we cannot control. We try to establish different organizations, circles, G88, G20, and so forth, but we see that nothing helps and aggressiveness breaks out in different places each time.

These unite against those, on all levels: against oil, for oil, and so on. Different religions are involved here, and historical problems and old relationships are covered by different layers, especially in Europe.

This is why it is so difficult for us. We simply must acknowledge that humanity has no other way because there is no other way in our corporeal frameworks and capabilities. Suddenly, for the first time in human history, and quite unexpectedly, the wisdom of Kabbalah comes forth, claiming that this method can change our reality. It explains that there is no other way but to ascend above our ego and that the ego will develop since we cannot dictate the conditions and the speed of its development. We cannot suppress it because it is against nature, and we must act according to it. We must only produce another force from it, a positive force that will cover the ego. We will then be able to use it properly in order to build the connection between us.

The wisdom of Kabbalah tells us what this force is, how to produce it from nature, and how it covers the ego and tames it. Then, we will begin to work in accordance with the second, altruistic force. This whole method stems from the state called Pesach.

In The Quantum World The Future Affects The Past

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (Hi-news.ru): “A new study says that we now know everything about quantum particles, but we cannot measure them accurately. On the whole we can calculate the statistic probability of the possible outcomes. This fact isn’t a mis-measure in itself but a natural registered phenomenon.

“Not only don’t we know the state of the quantum particle, but until we measure it, it is totally undefined and unclear. The direct measuring process itself forces the particles to vaguely change their status.

“Not too long ago, physicists studied the attributes of particles only through theoretical experiments, while direct observation forced the subjects to hide their quantum attributes.

“In the 80’s scientists devised special instruments that measure these sensitive systems very carefully, and don’t lead to their sudden collapse. The instruments enabled physicists to predict the future state to an accuracy of up to 90%, which means that they managed to perform the process in nine cases out of ten.

“The quantum theory suggests that in the quantum world, time changes in two directions while according to classical physics, just like in the classical world, everything flows in only one direction. The result of the experiment determined the symmetry of time.

“The data that were received indicate that the quantum state of the system combines the information about the past and the future. The graphic illustration of time in the quantum world should be indicated by an arrow with two heads.”

My Comment: It is striking that all the attributes typical of quantum nature were described by the wisdom of Kabbalah 5,776 years ago by the first Kabbalist who discovered the next world that is beyond the egoistic corporeal world. Adam (First Man) wrote about it in his book The Angel Raziel (the concealed force), referring to the general force of connection, which is  love and bestowal.

“And Shall Be Called After The Name Of The Creator”

laitman_528_04Question: How can I choose whether to act in favor of my ego or in favor of the environment? After all, my ego sometimes confuses me and convinces me that the good of the environment is different from what society defines as good.

Answer:  If the group says something, it is undoubtedly a sign that that’s the way it should be. It is said: “They have eyes but cannot see.” How can you believe your own eyes? If the group tells me that something has to be done, I can organize a discussion, a workshop, but eventually I have to accept the group’s decision.

The same rule applies to the relations between the teacher and the students, as it is written: “Educate a child according to his ways” (Proverbs 22:6). If the group makes a certain decision with regard to its way, I go along and cannot rush forward since I will not be allowed to discover any more from above unless it is according to the group’s opinion, desire, decisions, and perspective. I cannot judge the group and myself. I am even mistaken in my self-judgment and continuously arrive at the wrong conclusions. This is undoubtedly what happens.

Question: So what can fuel a person if he believes that the group is wrong?

Answer: Of course I always believe that the group is wrong, but I don’t need to pay attention to such thoughts. Of course I think that everyone is wrong and I am right. But if the Creator has brought me to the group and told me “take,” I have to accept this fate. But how I can I accept it if I don’t agree with the opinion of the environment, am not incorporated in it, and do not connect with the friends?

I am not objective because I judge everything with my corruptions (“one judges according to his own flaws”), according to my ego. The friends also arrive at egoistic conclusions and they may have been studying not as long as I have, may understand less, but if they have one general opinion I have to accept it. This is my environment and I have to grow in it because I cannot grow all alone. I have to accept their opinion as if it were my mother’s opinion, like a womb to which I have to adjust myself, and the upper force will complete the work.

The environment is the form with regard to which I have to shatter my ego and turn it to bestowal. This is the reason that it is said “Educate a child in according to his ways,” which means that we have to take his way, his desire, his progress, into account and thus advance. It cannot be done differently.

Otherwise there is nothing I can annul myself with regard to. The Creator is not by my side. The group should always be the Creator for me—more and more so. Therefore it is said: “from the love of the created beings to the love of the Creator.” If I stabilize myself with regard to the group, I will begin to see the Creator through it because the form of the group is the form of the upper.

We have to discuss and to clarify all these issues and to consult the teacher, but once the group makes a decision I have to annul myself with regard to its opinion. A person cannot benefit if he has complaints towards the group and if he leaves it and disappears. All his complaints, his desires, and his thoughts are worthless if he doesn’t annul himself with respect to the group. This is the only reason they were given to him.

The group also provides me with the power to annul myself. I receive the Light that Reforms through it, and it is clear that I have no power of my own. But I already understand that my miserable, temporary thoughts and desires and the group’s thoughts and desires were given to me only so that I should demand the Light that Reforms and adhere to it more and more.

An embryo doesn’t need the womb but needs the force that he gets through it and which formats its body similarly to the upper. The upper isn’t the womb. The womb is only the temporary means so that I should adapt and annul myself with respect to the upper, but, at the same time, I don’t reveal its form.

When I receive the Light that Reforms I build myself, am born, and keep growing. This is I how I build my human image, and from that image I discover who the upper is. The Creator has no form of His own. My corrected form is called the Creator. “And call me after the name of the Creator.”
