Intention Changes Reality

131We do not realize how much our attitude toward the world improves it! Only now are physicists discovering that the results of their experiments with matter depend on the experimenter and their attitude. Only now are we discovering that even a plant feels how I relate to it.

We do not understand that it is precisely our attitude, meaning, our intention, that changes all of reality. We do not see it because we do not see the results. And we do not see intentions, we cannot clarify them, see them, or measure them. That is the problem.

Nevertheless, this alone operates in the universe; matter is brought into motion specifically by the attitude toward it. What is a matter by itself for? It cannot generate any movement on its own.

Therefore, when speaking about how we should appear before the rest of the world, it should not be at all as if we are actively involved in politics, economics, security, or anything of the sort.

Our involvement is solely in education, spreading this knowledge and bringing everyone who desires it to the right attitude toward reality, nature, and the world in which they live.

The Reason for the Breakage of the Common Soul

264.01Each person can influence the whole world, both positively and negatively. This is a consequence of the interpenetration of souls and the breaking of a single Kli of creation called the common soul of Adam HaRishon.

Initially we existed in a wonderful union in it that was created by the light. In its presence, all desires were suppressed, sweetened, combined and, of course, were in the intention of bestowing to each other. All this was a manifestation of the light, which thus supported these desires from the moment it created them.

Then the shattering occurred. That is, the light departing from the Kli led to the fact that the Kli remained in its natural properties, in its nature, which had never happened before.

It was discovered that the nature of creation is the desire to enjoy. Since the creation does not feel the light, the nature of the giver, it begins to exist within itself, immersed in itself, and of course thinks, checks, and makes calculations only in accordance with the desire to receive, each according to one’s own desire.

Then a shattering occurred between all desires that once felt united, like one organism in which various organs function together and think only of helping others. It was clear to them this was one system that cannot exist any other way.

Suddenly a desire erupted in everyone, a desire unrelated to the desires of others. Everyone began to care only about their personal existence. Thus, there was a breakage among all parts of the common soul, the common Kli of Adam HaRishon.

Without Any Calculations

226Question: What determines the measure people connect to Kabbalah?

Answer: We do not know precisely the measure of connection, how, in what form, or in what way it happens. But suddenly we discover that there are whole groups of people in the world who feel a sense of belonging to this.

Just as, on the other hand, we see that among the Jewish people there are those who hate this idea, who do not want to accept it, and who even want to destroy you more than all the nations of the world.

But it is not for our mind to understand why, during the shattering, certain reactions occur, and why in our people there are those who are against us, and among the nations of the world, there are those who are for us.

We must not make these calculations. Lights clarify the vessels. Our task is only to reveal this thought, this general picture, more and more to everyone. This knowledge will draw the surrounding lights closer, which will perform the clarifications throughout the world. It is not our role to interfere in the process itself.

It is said: Even if a sharp sword rests upon a person’s neck, he should not deny himself of mercy (Rabash, “Come Unto Pharaoh – 1”).

We do not know, but in the most difficult moments, precisely through the shattering, from the depth of despair and disappointment, heaviness, hopelessness, and dead ends, suddenly the path is revealed, adhesion, a leap toward the light. In all this, we must proceed entirely above reason.

What Is the World Made For?

232.05Question: Why is intention not related to the physical body?

Answer: It is because the physical body is the desire to receive. The desire to receive cannot give. Thus, its action can be one of two things: either to restrict itself and not receive, or to receive. What happens to the desire to receive when the property of Bina is added to it?

Comment: The ability to give is added.

My Response: How is that? Can the desire to receive give? Can the desire to receive start giving when the second stage enters the fourth stage? It can make a restriction, but it can never give! Only the intention behind the action is added to it.

Therefore we say that in both education and correction, we in fact pay attention not to the desire to receive, but only to intentions. That is what is important to us. To the extent of our intention, we take the desire to receive and combine them together.

I use the desire to receive only to the extent that I can increase the intention. What does the world exist for? For the intention or for the desire to receive? For the intention! To constantly nurture it. At the same time, the desire to receive is matter, raw material. As it belonged to the Creator, so it does now. The creation is the one who builds an intention above the desire to receive.

Talks about the Steps of the Ladder, Part 140

Talks about the Steps of the Ladder, Part 140

Are the Disturbances, the Klipot, Greater Than the Desire for Spirituality, for Kedusha?

The desires within us are always balanced one against the other. Why? It is because the goal is to advance us. The closer we draw to the purpose of creation, that is, the closer we approach the Creator and are filled by Him, the more disturbances we are given, so that our path will be more efficient.

It is exactly like how a child who studies in a higher grade is not given problems meant for a lower grade. If they were to engage in lower-level problems, they would regress. They must be given a difficulty level that they are capable of, and even a bit more, so they will have to exert themselves and find a solution through their own strength, and thus grow into the next level beyond where they currently are. Otherwise, they would stagnate and remain at their current low level.

You can see this with people who, after completing their studies and beginning to work, spend their entire lives doing the same thing without advancing themselves further. For example, a person learns to calculate and draft buildings, and then spends their whole life only calculating and drafting. They remain on the same level and do not grow; they become still-like.

In contrast, there are those who constantly learn. How do they learn? They take on problems that are beyond their current ability and seek solutions. In fact, all learning is based on this principle: giving a person problems larger than their current capabilities so that they seek and discover solutions. Through this search, they grow and become scientists and researchers. The same applies to Kabbalah, which is a science like any other, and it follows the same principles.

Therefore, we are given the left line, the Klipot, the disturbances, at least according to the strength we possess from the right line, and even a little more. This is how we see that we are incapable; by experiencing failure, we come to recognize that we need to find a connection with the Creator. Ultimately the goal is not merely for us to overcome the left line and then move to the right, and again to overcome the left and move to the right. If that were the case, we would never leave our will to receive. The goal is that through the movement between right and left, we will acquire a new nature. Otherwise, we would remain as we are in this world.

A different nature can only be attained if we long to acquire the Creator’s nature. This means that we cannot solve the problem through our own strength; we must receive additional strength from the Creator. Therefore, we need to enter into the left side, the Klipa, time and again, recognize that we are incapable, experience failure, and then—at first unconsciously, and later consciously—turn to the upper force, the Godly power, and draw additional strength from there.

Our desire, longing, and brokenness are the vessels that receive additional strength from the right. We thus need the Klipot, for without them, we could not receive additional strength, additional qualities, from the right side.

The Holiday of Receiving the Force of Correction

931.01Question: What, in essence, did we receive at the giving of the Torah?

Answer: At the giving of the Torah we deeply desired to become one man with one heart. But at the same time, we stood around the mountain of hatred, the mountain of egoism that had been revealed between us. Since we wanted to free ourselves from it and reach mutual love, we received the Torah.

If there are not many frictions between us, then we do not need the Torah, the force that corrects relationships between us. But if we discover mutual hatred toward each other and separation, like in today’s Israeli society, then we need the Torah, meaning the force of correction. That is why the wisdom of Kabbalah, which has been concealed for thousands of years, is now being revealed.

Kabbalah is being revealed precisely today because we have reached a state where we cannot manage without it. We must reveal all our mutual hatred in order to feel the need for the correcting force. Until the hatred is clearly revealed, the Torah is not needed.

That is why it is said: “I created the evil inclination”, meaning, we reveal our evil nature and egoistic attitude toward others, and then we need the Torah to correct it. For this reason, the Torah was given at Mount Sinai, the mountain of hatred.

Question: At Mount Sinai, did the people of Israel feel like one nation?

Answer: At Mount Sinai, we did not yet feel ourselves as one nation, but we were ready to come to that. Everyone was asked: “Do you agree to unite, or will this be your burial place?”

Question: What can we do if today’s Israeli society is so fractured that there are not even the slightest impulses toward unity?

Answer: That is exactly why the wisdom of Kabbalah is coming out of concealment and explaining to the people of Israel what their mission is. Otherwise, we will have no right to exist on this land. It is precisely now that the Ten Commandments proclaimed at Mount Sinai become highly relevant again.

After all, we have physically returned to the Land of Israel and have received the opportunity to reestablish an independent Jewish state on it. In the face of the division and hatred that are growing more and more between us every day, we are beginning to realize that we need the force of correction.

The Holiday of Giving of the Torah

715There is no greater holiday than the holiday of receiving the Torah. After all, if not for the Torah, we would only lead an animal existence “for as long as the world turns.”

But we have the opportunity to use the upper force, and with its help to leap into a higher dimension, to continue our existence, to live in the spiritual dimension.

From this world, this reality we are experiencing now, we can smoothly transition into a new state, into another world, a dimension that has nothing to do with planet Earth and this universe.

We can reveal ourselves as existing in the form of eternal, perfect, complete harmony, without the limitations of the material world.

With the help of the upper force, a passage will open for us from our world, from this flawed life, to a perfect existence.

The means of transition from our dimension to a higher one is called “Torah,” a special force that gradually changes us to a new state; and to the extent of our change, we smoothly transition into it, until all our earthly, i.e., all our egoistic properties are replaced by spiritual, altruistic ones.

A person receives the opportunity to move on to an eternal and perfect existence. Therefore, getting this opportunity is the most important event in our lives, a true holiday!

Approach to Dissemination

168Question: How can I “disconnect” myself from the explanation when disseminating?

Answer: We approach the masses as scientists, as researchers, and a true scientist must be absolutely impartial toward the outcome. They investigate nature outside themselves, outside their own “I,” just as Kabbalists do in this world.

Only later can we begin to talk about how my desire for something to happen influences its actualization. This occurs due to the law of nature adapting to my desire.

So how can I remain impartial? I must strive to understand the world, to understand life, to learn what is assigned to me without any personal involvement. If I investigate while I am interested in the result is a will to receive. What will I examine then? Only what is better for my will to receive. That is what everyone studies, and no one can see the true picture this way.

I must explain to everyone: “Friends! By distancing ourselves from our will to receive, we achieve the revelation of the picture of the world, we reach a degree from which we can understand the true interrelationships between the parts of reality—how everything is operated by the upper force, how all the details are interconnected, and what purpose they serve.”

I explain everything as a scientist who has discovered the system, the general law that operates in all its forms. But at the same time, I am dependent on nothing. This is how our approach should appear from the outside.

I must show by my entire appearance that I do not exist at all in this picture. It is not related to religion, to any way of life, or to anything else. It is simply general nature as it reveals itself. Then people will perceive it that way.
