One Cannot Advance Without a Teacher

961.2When I started studying Kabbalah, there were no sources where the inner work of a person was described; they were all hidden. Even my teacher Rabash kept all this in his archive. And just because I studied with him, was his assistant, secretary, and student, I took the whole archive and started publishing it. Otherwise nothing would have happened!

It all started with the book Shamati (I Heard). And then Rabash’s aticles were published from which it became clear to us what to do. Otherwise humanity would not have had it.

Without a teacher, without receiving clear instructions for many years, when lessons go in a systematic manner and the material is hammered into you over and over again until it makes a hole in your egoism and begins to fill it with another quality, it is impossible to attain the upper world.

This is a huge job that cannot be done by the person himself. Just as a small child cannot grow up without the help of others and reach the level of an educated adult, it is the same here.

Kabbalist’s Patience

231.01Question: You understand the nature of a person you need to explain everything to 20,000 times before he understands something. How do you develop patience? After all, you have always been a very impatient person.

Answer: No, I am always patient with Kabbalistic explanations.

As for our production and dissemination, even today I am ready to get into a fight right away before I figure everything out . As for spirituality, there is nothing I can do. I am amazed at myself how instantly I become patient, ready to repeat something 20,000 times. The spiritual quality immediately begins to speak within me, and I begin to express myself from it.

For example, I have no patience in raising children. But completely different forces work with regard to the students, when you raise integral allies from them, who first must understand everything with their minds and only after that, once they agree with me, enter the general system of nature.

Accepting the Mind of the Upper Degree

294.3Question: What is faith above reason?

Answer: Faith above reason is faith in spite of reason, in spite of today’s degree. If I move from degree to degree, then at the degree where I am now, I have reason. In order to rise to the next degree, I accept the reason of the next degree as faith, i.e., I go with the head of the upper degree.

This is not at all like in our world in which if you are smarter than me, then I go with your head, and I act with your reason. This is called “faith is above my reason.” That is, I go with my reason anyway but using your reason.

In spirituality, however, if a person goes by faith above reason, he understands and feels that this is against him. But he goes because he wants to go with the head of his teacher.

The Brain of the Future Humanity

939.02Question: Besides the fact that the teacher gives some knowledge to a student, is it part of his function to stir him up, that is, to create difficulties for the student so that he overcomes himself?

Answer: No. This is already individual work of a person. I practically do not do this.

My function in this world is to promote Kabbalah to the masses.

Those of you who will be able to become Kabbalists using what I give will move forward. I think there will be many of them. It will be a whole community of people who, to a greater or lesser extent, will begin to understand the Kabbalistic methodology and feel the upper world.

These include all my students who will represent the brain of the future humanity and will themselves teach others, as they already do today, and disseminate Kabbalah in the world.

I am sure that this will be in demand in the near future.

Responsibility for the World

254.02Question: You currently spend a lot of time explaining the principles of Kabbalah in an easy way. Rabash did not need to descend to the level of other people, he just talked and that is it. How different was the language of his explanations from the one you are using for us now?

Answer: You receive the material in a much more systematized way. Every day I give you a huge amount of information, which is more and more chewed over, adapted, and presented in different aspects. You have no idea what you possess!

Rabash was very stingy with words. There are recordings of his lessons and recordings of his conversations with me. You can listen to them and see to what extent it was in unfinished hints. By the way, he wrote amazingly, but could not express himself in spoken form.

Question: How did you manage for such a long time without knowing so many things, without attainment?

Answer: There was no way out! This is what I was born for! What is there in life besides this?

And how does a hard-working person manage when he is responsible for his family?

I have a different responsibility; I was given the opportunity to learn from a great Kabbalist, to gain everything I could from him in order to become his follower. This is a huge responsibility. And it sets you up, alerts, and mobilizes you.

At the same time, I did not feel any self-importance, but the importance of the mission itself was more or less clear to me. Therefore, I pursued only one goal—to absorb from the teacher all I could. Of course, there were also very bad times when I weakened and neglected him. I had to go through everything. That is how I worked. But of course, from above you receive strength, opportunities, conditions, and properties.

How can you refuse such an important task if you feel the significance of your mission at least in some way? I had no other choice.

And now I do not have one student. I have a group, the world group, which is my collective student. It includes everybody as separate parts. Like in a living person, there are legs and arms, parts close to the soul and remote from its inner attainment, gross parts of the body and more subtle ones, so is the world group. And everyone is needed.

That is how I treat everyone. I just pass information trying to fill everyone. We will live and see what happens in the end. But I have no other choice, and I cannot choose one person although there are students who are closer to me, those with whom I work.

The World through Rabash’s Eyes

721.03I remember during our trips how Rabash, sitting next to me in the car, would comment on what he saw on the way.

Just like a native of Central Asia rides a donkey and sings about what he sees: “Here is a tree standing next to the road, and here is a village appearing in the distance,” and so on, so did he. And when he would see some animals, he would tell me that they were such and such angels, forces of such and such type, and in what interaction they were with each other.

He threw a few words here and there, but this conveyed the feeling of a different reality that is connected with you and influences you, and you influence it, and all this is a single sensation.

Question: Did he like to connect the two perceptions?

Answer: He was in it all the time. Therefore, when he talked to a person, for him it was his inner reality. He turned only to that part of a person through which he could influence his freewill so that a person himself would connect to him.

That is, when I am talking to you, I am talking to the part of me that has its own freewill that I have to convince to use it to connect to me and unite.

Question: Were there many people at that time with whom he could communicate with his inner part?

Answer: No! Absolutely not! He worked inside himself. This communication took place through the internal system. After all, everything is in him and in no one else. By correcting his attitude toward people inside himself, he was as if correcting them. He was preparing them to feel the possibility of correction.

Comment: But he was in a very rigid environment that was not suited to what he was doing.

My Response: He was passing by them. They did not exist for him as individuals. He saw as individuals only those who had some potential of freewill.

After all, everyone else is at the animate level. They need to come to the recognition of themselves as a person who needs to be developed. But they are still very far from it and they act instinctively like all the people in the world.

Without Preference

530Question: When you work with students, do you invest in those in whom you see potential and do not invest in someone who does not have it at all?

Answer: This is not quite true. In no case do I rob anyone, and I do not take away the possibility of realization from anyone. I give everyone the maximum and do not prefer one over the other.

Eventually, those who are moving forward get closer to me spiritually, but those who are standing still do not.

I can be closer or further to a person in our work and in dissemination because I work more with people who translate, process, and make films than with others.

But, in principle, I have no preference for anyone even if it is my own son or son-in-law, who are also within our organization. No way! I have no right! And I think everyone can see it.

Question: Do you not give preference even when you pass spiritual information to a person? You said that Rabash gave you so much light so that in the future you could use it and reveal it.

Answer: But I worked with him, studied, served him, did everything just to get this charge from him, this strength, this opportunity to somehow change myself.

Exchange of Spiritual Energy

235Comment: You say that the transmission of information through vision is more effective than through hearing. But you cannot visually show spirituality, so you convey this information to us orally, as if you paint it through words.

My Response: I transmit information orally and try to evoke adequate sensations in people.

Question: I am looking for the correct combination of picture and sound. You said that certain melodies can create a sensation that is closer to a spiritual experience. Is it possible to convey this with a visual image?

Answer: And with an image it is possible. But it is not the same.

The main transmission of spiritual information occurs on the shared screen between the student and the teacher, which is known as “mouth to mouth.”

“Mouth” does not refer to lips. The mouth refers to the place where the head, the thoughts, of the spiritual Partzuf, ends in our spiritual image. When the thoughts of the teacher and the student fully coincide in the mutual exchange of information, energy, and fulfillment, then the direct transmission of authentic information occurs, if they are connected together at least in some common volume.

This informational explosion, which is felt by each of the individuals connecting in this way, is that special state we need to reach. If we come to this, we will attain the full manifestation of the upper force (the Creator) that will fill us with absolute knowledge, energy, pleasure, and eternal existence.

Look for Luck

514.04Question: You often say that in addition to studying texts and practicing Kabbalah, luck is also important. What do you mean by luck?

Answer: By luck, I mean that a person should be careful not to miss a single moment in life. Luck is not favoritism. Luck is when I make the most effective use of every moment to absorb everything I can from every circumstance.

As they say: “Look for luck.” I do not know where it is, but I am prowling like a dog, where can it be? That is what I mean by looking for luck.

I want to make my students more feeling and sensitive in order not to miss every moment.

Question: In any case, do you focus on the main core of students with whom you can communicate more deeply?

Answer: No, my lesson is designed for a more or less average level of students, or maybe a little higher.

The rest are gradually catching up. I am still focusing on the more internal part, on more complex material, in order to force the others to improve a little.

Someone understands five percent, someone fifty, and someone seventy or eighty. But what can I do? I have to develop a methodology both in breadth and depth and a little upward, and show that it covers everything that exists in our world.

Communication on the Same Level

115Question: When you began to study with Rabash, you were still in the ordinary perception of this world. Did it not seem strange to you that he talked about the spiritual world?

Answer: Do you think he told me a lot?! Very little! Basically, we talked at my level about the methods of spiritual work, the dissemination of Kabbalah in the world, and the ideas of Baal HaSulam. I could not speak at a level above myself because I did not understand anything in it.

It is the same as in any science! How can you tell a first-grader what he will study in the next classes if he still does not have this knowledge at all? And here one needs not just knowledge, but attainment. That is, he will talk, and you will not understand what he is talking about.

Now I also say things that do not affect you. But I say them. It is recorded. Later you will use the archive.

Comment: In principle, you and Rabash studied TES (Talmud Eser Sefirot), which can be structured.

My Response: It can be structured, nothing more. But from this structure, you begin to slowly extract some principles for yourself: how the light influences the desire, how the desire influences the light in return, what combination occurs between them, and the play of one with the other. The most important thing is the influence of the study on you.
