One Cannot Manage without the Creator

214Question: Can people realize the evil of their egoistic nature without knowing about the upper force that created this evil?

Answer: Of course. This information is not necessary for some people. They can simply receive a proper upbringing under which influence they will change.

Comment: But it is said that the Creator created evil and the Torah as a means of correction. It turns out that one cannot manage without the Torah.

My Response: The Torah is the upper light, the highest altruistic force, which we must draw to ourselves. Then it will correct us. Without this, it is very difficult.

Comment: So without the Creator, it is impossible to recognize evil.

My Response: Generally, yes.

How Does the Creator Evaluate Us?

599.02Question: You said that the Creator is displeased with us and as a result, with you. Does the Creator also evaluate us, your students, based on the success of our children, meaning those to whom we spread the teachings and those we care for?

Answer: The Creator evaluates you based on the extent to which each of you can annul yourself to come together as one group. His evaluation is derived from this.

Heightened Senses

231.01Question: I often notice that you close your eyes when you want to convey a specific spiritual picture. Why do you do this?

Answer: To focus. In principle, whether my eyes are closed or open has nothing to do with the sensation of the higher world.

Concentrating on the students and conveying information to them is necessary because it is challenging to bring it out from the inside and clothe it in some earthly form. You need to concentrate so you are not disturbed by images, sounds, or smells. Everything gets in the way!

I remember when an ambulance passed near the place where we were studying with Rabash, he got switched off. If a tractor was working quietly somewhere, emitting a distant, monotonous sound, it was difficult for him to concentrate.

And I have an even bigger problem. First of all, I am not him. He was huge on the one hand. On the other hand, 300 students are in front of me. I must feel them, but feelings still include earthly sensations too.

It turns out that the slightest sound, some kind of knock, someone said something, someone misunderstood something, and I already start to lose my intention, my concentration. Therefore, I need it to be quiet. Even the smell of something is distracting.

It seems to us that the Kabbalist withdraws into himself and plunges inside like a yogi. No. His immersion coincides with the intensification of all earthly senses, I can’t even tell you how much!

For example, while we are walking and talking with Rabash, a small pebble the size of a pea suddenly got into his shoe and prevented him from concentrating. This doesn’t fit at all with how we are used to thinking about the upper world.

To the Kabbalist, all this appears as one whole, and he becomes sensitive to everything. He does not leave, does not float away somewhere; on the contrary, every particle, every connection in the world becomes very important to him. He sees this unity and mutual influence. This whole world is what he needs.

Information Transmitter

548.02Question: When you hear yourself on a recording, for example, speaking during a lesson, do you clearly see how the upper force transmits information through you?

Answer: Of course, I feel it. Is there anything of my own in me? Possibly, but only when I am alone. When I am with others, I am not myself; I am merely a conduit through which something is transmitted from above. In this state, I try to adapt the information, convey it, and make myself the most suitable instrument for perception by external vessels, souls, that is, people. I try to find examples and diagrams, while simultaneously integrating with what descends to me, with what I contact from above.

I am entirely focused on being this buffer, this adapter, between the degree I can currently reveal for myself and my recipients, lowering it to the level they are at, and conveying it in the most accessible form for them.

Comment: For example, when someone is engaged in creative work, they often do not understand how it happens. They feel that it is not their achievement, but rather that information comes to them somehow. I see that you often say, “Ask a question, and you will receive an answer.”

My Response: It is not mysticism. It is actually internal work. Creative people also partially feel this way. Why do you need to ask a question? Because when I hear a question, I feel the student asking it, and I understand at what level I need to give the answer. I need to receive the question first; it is not possible otherwise.

These were the dynamics between me and Rabash, where I compelled him to descend in his answer to my level and much lower as much as possible. This prepared him for conducting lessons with other students.

I Would Like To Be Proud of Both You and Myself

938.04Question: When we were singing one of Baal HaSulam’s melodies during the convention, I cried and saw that you also shed tears. Your inner pain seems to have blocked all the passages of my ego. I even lost all of my questions. What does this give me?

Answer: It corrects the heart, not specifically, but in general.

Question: So is it good? Is it possible to strive to feel your pain? It seems to me that there is nothing more powerful and stronger than this.

Answer: I feel like parents who have invested so much in their children, and the children are not very successful. I am sorry to say that about you. But in my eyes, you are still like that. Naturally, because of you, I am considered the same loser. Therefore, if I turn to the Creator regarding my children, which is you, this is what happens.

We must pray for each other and try to support each other. I think we are actually not in a bad state at all.

What we receive from above, we receive beyond all expectations. And then we will see what happens. It all depends on us.

Of course I would like to rejoice more and be proud of both you and myself, that is, to bring more contentment to the Creator.

Erect a Spiritual Structure

938.05Question: The only real adapter to the upper system that we can cling to is you, our teacher. How should we use the strength we receive from you?

Answer: I don’t even know what to tell you because my work is to shape you, gather you, and organize you. I feel how you should complement each other to form a certain structure.

It comes together like blocks or bricks, but there is no binding material like cement to hold them together yet. I help you assemble this structure and do it together with you, but it is up to you to ask the Creator to bind it together. That is how it works.

The Group as a Teacher

767.2Question: How necessary is it for a teacher to be physically present at unity activities in which students must independently perform actions?

Answer: There is not a single spiritual teaching that is not transmitted from teacher to students. In any circumstances, wherever you are, wherever you wander in your search, you will see that there is always a teacher and there are students.

We have a special relationship here. I hope to prepare you for a state where you will replace me with a group, when the group will act as a teacher, guide, instructor.

In addition to the teacher, administration is also needed. Everything should be organized as in our world. And instead of the teacher, there will be the group itself. You will correctly feel the unity, reveal the Creator in it, and this will lead you forward, this will be your teacher.

How Do We Engage with a Friend’s Question?

231.01Question: How do we engage with a friend’s question? And how do you work with these questions?

Answer: I try to feel every question within myself as if I am asking it. I must feel each question on your level, the way you present it, and feel it on my level, the way I would ask it.

I must feel the difference between these levels and figure out how I can understand your question at my level and answer it at your level. Try to do the same with each friend’s question. You cannot imagine how much you will enrich yourselves, each of you! Therefore, you need to try to enter into your friend.

Children usually ask the most challenging questions. A child’s question may seem naive, but it is very complex. We are not used to such questions.

Additionally, the questions you ask help me create a connection with the person asking. How else can I enter these questions and they, me? In the lessons with you, I gain much more than each of you.

Kabbalistic Vocabulary

137Question: When you explain Kabbalistic material, you use a limited number of phrases and words, but simultaneously, you convey a whole bouquet of your feelings in different combinations. How is that possible?

Answer: In principle, as soon as you start reducing everything to ten parts of the soul, or the five worlds, or the inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human nature, then everything becomes very concrete, very compact. Therefore, the explanation can be through a manageable number of words.

You reduce it all to some definitions, like, in chemistry to atoms, molecules, and valences. It is the same with us. It is the coarseness of the screen, the magnitude of desire and its thickness, the magnitude of light and its various states, that is five lights, five screens, five types of egoism thickness over it, the combination between them. All this is a small, specific vocabulary.

All the enormous impression and all the richness of conveying feelings and thoughts is in the combination of these few parameters.

But they evoke various opposite sensations in us. And therefore, by going through just a hundred words, you express absolutely everything you can in human existence, not only in our world, but all worlds. The main thing is for a person to feel what you are talking about. And then there will be a very concrete language between you.

In Kabbalah, the vocabulary is minimal, just like for chemists and physicists. They do not have many words and phrases either. The most important is the combination of parameters in all possible combinations and connections. They give the entire palette of sensations and thoughts.

Spiritual Children

947Question: Sometimes during a lesson your students start walking or doing something. How do you have patience?

Answer: When a person gets up to get a cup of coffee or cold water, I understand that he is tired, he did not get enough sleep, he is having a hard time. But I treat my students with love and understanding.

These are the people for whom I do everything; they are more important to me than children. Essentially, these are my spiritual children.

What do I have beside them? Who else will I pass this information on to? Who do I want to train? Them, to give out as much as possible through them so that they continue dissemination in the right way.

Therefore, my attitude toward them slightly softens the interference that they create. Just like a mother cannot hear her child when he or she makes noise. For her, this is normal, but for a stranger, something flickering and noisy is unbearable.
