Question: Everyone studying Kabbalah knows about the importance of the group and unity. But sometimes there is a desire to step away from the group, to take the sources, and figure things out on your own.

Does it make sense to give in to this desire, or is it better to resist it? Or perhaps this need should be fulfilled—to study some section alone that particularly interests you?

Answer: You must see yourself as a representative of the group and never detach from it. You connect with others to bring this connection back into your group. When you engage with them, you are ready to dissolve yourself within them, but your inner “self” remains, which is the group’s DNA, its essence. And so it is with each of you.

We do not part ways with our egoistic “self”; it remains within us, and we work on it. The same applies to the group; it remains within me, and I work on it. Only in this way can we combine all the attributes given to us by the Creator and thereby reach the goal.

Do not dissolve entirely, do not forget yourself, and do not forget the group. I exist to bring everyone together. If I exist as a representative of the group, then I gather the entire world Kli together with my group into a single whole. But if my “self” disappears, then what will happen? Nothing.

I repeat once again: Kabbalah does not destroy egoism; it does not destroy my “self,” and it does not destroy the “self” of the group. On the contrary, it builds the attribute of bestowal, the attribute of the Creator, above it.

Comment: Sometimes I feel hatred for the teacher and it is completely unexplainable.

My Response: Hatred for the teacher is an absolutely natural state and you do not have to conceal it. I will tell you why. Who is causing all the problems in your life?

Question: It used to come to the point that it seemed to me that it would be better if I leave completely, that I would feel good. It was this way. What should I do with this feeling? How can I not leave the group?

Answer: But you haven’t left.

Question: Yes, but this may happen again. I am afraid to leave.

Answer: This is the key that you will stay. You have to be afraid; otherwise, you will go down to the level of an animal.

You see where the world is heading to. What is the use of people living, no matter how good their lives are? At the same time, we have a clear path in front of us, and the first spiritual steps are beginning to unfold. I am happy that the sensations of the spiritual path, spiritual steps, and spiritual ascent are awakening in my students.

But the most important thing for us is to control the two forces, the positive and the negative, and advance forward on two legs. It means revealing the negative force and covering it with a positive one: left-right, left-right.

Why is the left first? It is because we are created in the desire to receive pleasure, in egoism. If it did not exist, we would not have any possibility or any necessity to connect with the Creator. Therefore, it always begins with the left: “And there was evening, and there was morning, one day.”

Question: Can a teacher be a friend? When does a teacher become a friend, and does he become a friend?

Answer: It depends more on the student, on whether the student can understand that his teacher is his friend. It is not easy.

Question: So the teacher is ready to be a friend on his own?

Answer: Yes.

Answer: Yes.

Question: And then the second part of the question is: who was your teacher to you?

Answer: Today, of course, I can say that he was the person closest to me, a friend, a teacher, it doesn’t matter how you say it. But it is true on his part.

Question: What should I do with the feeling of instability in my perception of the world?  Deep internal dissatisfaction and uncertainty are revealed, which creates a need for the calming voice and explanations of the teacher. Is this a sign of incorporation in the ten?

Answer: No, the teacher has no connection to the work of the ten. I cannot interfere in its work.

Question: Was there some kind of premonition that it had to be somewhere, that you must seek it?

Answer: In general, it is somewhere because nature itself does not tolerate this emptiness. It screams outright, screams there is a goal and there is truth, and it is for everyone although each person may have their own, but one can find it.

Question: Did you feel this inner cry?

Answer: Yes, of course.

Question: Did you reach a point where if you could not achieve your goal, there was no point in living?

Answer: Definitely. For many years it was meaningless.

Question: How did you come out of these states?

Answer: It is not easy, but I think a lot of people are still in such a state.

The most important thing is to understand that it does not depend on you, it is given to you from above, it is a gift from nature. And you must keep looking for answers to the question of your fate.

My Response: Absolutely, yes.

Question: How long do these states last: “If I do not find it, life is not worth living”? Are these statements internal?

Answer: I have had it for decades.

Question: What is the most important moment in your life?

Question: In all the time that you have been studying Kabbalah, have you ever regretted it?

Answer: No. How could it have happened?

Comment: I do not know, maybe there is something else.

My Response: I am not hiding from anything, and I am not turning a blind eye to anything; there simply is nothing else.

Question: You have been studying for a long time. More than forty years, nearly fifty. Was there no moment of doubt? Have you ever regretted it? Or were there some doubts like if you were in the right place?

Answer: No, such depth and horizons are revealed to you that you have nothing more to look for. Either you give it up, or you stay with it.

Question: So you never had any doubts, and you went along with it. But you did go through different states, right?

Answer: Of course.

Question: Why are these states given on the path?

Answer: To test yourself.

Question: So, you were questioning yourself?

Answer: Yes. “Do I need it?”

Question: “Am I in the right place?” Did you ask yourself this?

Answer: “Am I in the right place?” Not really. Whether I have the right sources, whether the methodology is correct, whether I should behave this way—all such questions were there.

Question: How did you answer these questions?

Answer: My answer was that I did not believe in anything, and therefore—to check.

Question: Is there anything in life you regret most and would like to take back and do differently?

Answer: Yes, I would like to take back and redo absolutely everything except my choice in life. That is, the choice itself is correct, but its implementation could have been more intense.

Question: What is the independent measure of receiving pleasure in the vessel of bestowal?

Answer: The independent measure of pleasure in bestowal is a question with an underlying meaning. If we resolve this question correctly, the task before us will transform from a general one into a specific one, and from a specific one into a general one.

At that point, the distinction between me and the general vessel will disappear. Through being interconnected, we will perceive ourselves as a single united whole.

Pleasure is the result of our actions toward one another and toward the Creator.

Question: While receiving pleasure, how can one maintain the intention for His sake?

Answer: Continuously think about the possibility of receiving for the sake of the Creator in order to become one whole with Him.
