Work Hours In The Future Society

laitman_629.2Baal HaSulam, The Writings of the Last Generation: For the work of one hour of type one, type two works two hours, type three four hours, and type four six hours. Each person is trusted with finding one’s appropriate type of work that suits one’s strength.

Comment: Baal HaSulam divides the working hours into four types: for the weak, for the average, for the strong, and for the quick-witted. Each one decides for himself which type suits him. He is valued according to the program he is associated with.

Answer: All this is quite relative. The matter is not in the hours, but in the potential, in the belonging, etc. Everything depends on the person’s individual characteristics given to him by the Creator, by nature. And the hours of work depend on a person.

The Last Generation: Eternity Has No Boundaries

laitman_229Comment: Baal HaSulam writes that the last generation is a society that will live by the law of love your neighbor as yourself and that the main pleasure of the members of this society will be in being in adhesion with the Creator.

Answer: Ordinarily, the term “last” means final, but here, it is the opposite it is about the highest, the eternal.

Having achieved such a state, the society of the last generation will continue to perfect it because this movement is constant—eternity has no boundaries.

To Judge With Love

Laitman_098Baal HaSulam, The Writings of the Last Generation: Thus, if one is guilty of not giving all his work hours, then his time is either reduced or made easier, or the way he provides it is made easier for him. Sometimes he is given time to spend at school, to teach him the great merit of “bestowal upon others.” It all depends on the view of the judges.

If a person cannot work for the benefit of others to the full extent of which he is capable, he brings tremendous harm to society. In that case, society shows him that if he is being lazy, if he cannot work for the common good, then it will reduce the share that he is asked to contribute.

Is this a punishment or an encouragement? It would appear that society seems to be accommodating him by reducing his work hours and giving him more time to rest. At the same time, however, he can sense how much worse everyone regards him now.

Comment: I once worked in a factory. There, lazy workers were deprived of their merit or annual bonuses, or their photos were removed from the employee “wall of fame.” As a result, likely out of fear, their work improved, whereas here, everything is the other way around.

My Response: The fact of the matter is that a person in our society can easily dismiss all kinds of egoistic accusations, but in the future society, they approach everything only with love. Such an attitude toward a person cannot leave him indifferent.

He begins to feel shame and he cannot let that go because the human being in him is being humiliated. After all, a person is evaluated to the measure of his contribution to society. He suddenly begins to feel that if his working hours are reduced, then he will not give enough love and warmth, everything that he would have wanted to give.

He is shown that he is still a small person, and this stings him, it hurts. This precisely is a court that judges only with love, not in order to punish, but to correct, to help a person bring out and more vividly express his full potential.

Being Content With Necessities

laitman_565.01One may be diligent, but no person shall enjoy the society more than the backward. There will be an equal standard of living for all. (Baal HaSulam, The Last Generation)

This is natural. If we are talking about a perfect society, then obviously everyone receives according to their needs.

We all differ both in our spiritual and corporeal attainment: you need one thing for your life, and I need another. That is why everyone should receive whatever they require according to their spiritual or physiological background. No more. No one can argue with that because everything stems from the upper root.

Question: Can a person be happy receiving less than another?

Answer: Why not? Everyone would limit themselves in their demands, but would try to exceed as much as possible in what they give because that is the way they attain the common soul and the Creator within it.

The last generation goes through different stages, but eventually it will have to reach a state where people, from the endlessly large supply, would decide themselves what is necessary for them because they will not feel the desire for anything else.

Question: And this is how they would derive their joy? Meaning, the enjoyment they will receive, is it from the connection with the Creator?

Answer: That is the root of all joy; therefore, it exceeds everything else.

Why Are Only The Chosen Ones Engaged In The Spiritual Work?

laitman_624.05Each and every one is committed to the labor of raising ever higher the living standard of the world society, so all the people in the world will enjoy their lives and will feel more and more happiness.(Baal HaSulam, The Writings of the Last Generation)

Baal HaSulam does not mean Hollywood joys but a real filling of a person that will become possible for everyone.

Comment: It feels like these words of Baal HaSulam come from the Creator.

My Comment: Of course, because he exposes everything from his attainment.

Question: He writes that not everybody is supposed to be engaged in spiritual work but only the chosen people. Why?

Answer: Because the spiritual system consists of 600,000 souls and their various parts, and there is no way to make everyone the same. Each of us is a part of the common soul called “Adam,” and each feels it through his part. In the end, we will all attain it but everyone proceeding from his primordial root.

There are souls that belong to the head of the common soul, and there are those that relate to its body. Only those who belong to the head of the soul are able to deal with the attainment of the Creator, but they are obliged to pass it down the hierarchy to the subordinate souls.

Ultimately, when the system comes to its completion, it will become circular and integral, and it will not make any difference who takes which place. Absolute unity and equality will reign in it.

The Ideal Principle Of The Society Of The Future

Laitman_503.02Question: Baal HaSulam puts the principle “from each according to his ability, to each according to his needs” as the cornerstone of the last generation. Why?

Answer: Concerning our egoism, this is the most ideal principle. Since you have essential physiological needs, you must fill them because your body belongs not to the human, but to the animal level, and it must be given what it wants.

An animal is ruled by instinct; it will not eat more than it needs, it will not sleep 20 hours a day, and so on. And in us, everything is built on human egoism, and therefore, we are not limited in our desires. We want the entire world. What for? In fact, you ruin yourself in this way. It does not matter, I want it!

This is a problem. Therefore society should help a person find the middle line.

Comment: That is, he is laid out completely according to his abilities. And his talents are given to him only for this.

Answer: All that we received from nature, that is, from the Creator, we received only in order to properly behave with respect to the same Creator, to make optimal use of everything that comes from Him to us both at the animal level and at the spiritual (human) level.

Aspire To The Hidden Forces Of Nature

Unity, The Way To A Good FutureRemark: In the Baal HaSulam’s article “The Last Generation,” it is written that the law that will unite people is the law of “love thy neighbor as thyself.”

Answer: This is the innate law of nature, which will ultimately begin to manifest itself in human society.

People will awaken such forces of nature that are still hidden from them today. These forces will connect humanity like a Rubik’s cube, into an integral, global, interconnected, complementary, and round system.

By attracting the forces of nature to their aspiration for them, humankind will become self-sustainable and will advance using these forces. These forces exist in nature, but because people do not long for them, they clearly do not influence and do not manifest in humanity.

However, due to despair with our development, we will increasingly turn exactly to these forces and gradually become transformed, which is called being re-educated.

Obtain The Mind Of The Creator

laitman_610_2Question: A person today uses two to three percent of his brain’s abilities. Is it possible to say that all 100 percent were created precisely to work with a complete sense of bestowal and love?

Answer: This isn’t enough. This is only a small part of our capabilities. In fact, by fulfilling others and the Creator, we receive the desire and mind of those whom we fulfill. We completely cover the entire world in all its states.

The Law Of Life In Society Of The Future

laitman_229Baal HaSulam, “The Last Generation”: Each and every one must endeavor, according to this religion, to constantly improve the standard of living of the world, so that all those who come in it will take pleasure in their lives and enjoy life more and more.

A person must come to a state when he gives all his strength toward the practical development and improvement of the world with no regard for the self. Because only by behaving this way will people have all their needs provided for and be absolutely certain that these needs will always be provided for them because everyone will be concerned about everyone else.

We will actually come to the most positive state of the world, because in relating to each other with kindness toward all, we will create a special kind of network of connection between us in which we reveal the quality of the Creator, the quality of love and bestowal. This will actually be achieving the purpose for this world.

During this process, each will begin to be freed from their fears, their suffering, and their problems, and will experience themselves on the next level, released from their egoist desire and all that is associated with it. We will begin to experience ourselves on the level of the Creator, individually and collectively.

It is written: “…so that all those who come in it will take pleasure in their lives and enjoy life more and more.” Joy is expressed when we become liberated from all the limitations of our world and experience the opposite, entering a state of adhesion with the upper world, eternal, limitless, perfect.

Question: Here it is written that each must endeavor to constantly improve the standard of living of the world. Does that mean that if a person doesn’t do this, he will be breaking the law?

Answer: Of course. Each must give the society everything that he can. This is the law of life for the last generation.

The Upper Law Of Nature

Unity, The Way To A Good FutureThe religious form of all the nations should first obligate its members to bestowal upon each other to the extent that (the life of one’s friend will come before one’s own life), as in “Love thy friend as thyself.” (Baal HaSulam, The Last Generation)

All the nations should come to the fulfillment of this upper law that will unite all parts of nature, including inanimate, vegetative, and animate, into one single system.

“Love thy friend as thyself” means love your friend more than yourself because achieving the correct connection with others leads us to elevation above our material life. Every person must do this.
