Europe Needs Further Integration

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Jens Weidmann, head of Deutsche Bundesbank): “A broad deepening of fiscal integration leading toward a ‘fiscal union’ in the euro zone requires deeper public support than currently exists both inside and outside Germany, European Central Bank Governing Council member Jens Weidmann said Monday [June 17].

“Speaking at a reception sponsored by the local chamber of commerce, Mr. Weidmann urged a ‘realistic’ approach such as deepening of the fiscal policies in the single currency zone. He said that support among the broader public for such a move in the face of the euro zone crisis at present is seen ‘neither in Germany nor in partner countries.’ Mr. Weidmann is also head of the Deutsche Bundesbank.”

“Elsewhere in Europe, Bundesbank chief and ECB official Jens Weidmann claimed that there was nothing more the central bank could do to help solve the region’s crisis while speaking in Paris. He said the ECB Governing Council has agreed that monetary policy cannot solve the crisis and that the bank has already gone to great lengths to try to mitigate the damage. Now, Weidmann said, it is up to individual governments to make the necessary structural reforms.” Source: International Business Times

My Comment: Gradually life will force us to accept the need for full integration as a mandatory condition to overcome the crisis. Nature will compel humanity to unite. We are weak and dependent on it. So, it is better to become wiser in advance and recognize that salvation and prosperity are in unification.

We must proceed with the full change of the structure of civilization: the satisfaction of all basic needs and not more and all our other opportunities to be directed only to the creation of a single organism of unified civilization.

The Looming Debt Crisis Will Bury Everyone

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from the World Organization of Creditors): “The house of cards of the world economies continues to collapse. The problems of Greece and Cyprus are just the beginning of a global trend. Public debt may soon flatten everything in its path like a huge snowball.

“State debts are continuing to grow and, according to the latest estimates, it is becoming more and more difficult for countries not only to decrease the debt, but even to stabilize it. The preliminary results for 2012 show that the total debt of all countries has exceeded $55 trillion. The largest part (75%) is accounted for by only seven developed economies, the G7 countries. During the previous year they not only failed to improve the situation, but increased their debts by 5%. The total indebtedness of developed countries has grown by 12%, or 110% of total GDP. …

“Considering the steadily growing pressure, more and more often we hear forecasts of the upcoming bursting of ’debt bubbles.’ The countries that are pressured by debt can’t find a way to pay their obligations and are being forced to borrow even more money to pay interest on their current loans. For both the majority of developed economies and countries where the debt-to-GDP ratio exceeds 60-70%, it looks like the point of no return has already been passed. Sooner or later they will share the fate of Greece and Cyprus. But in this case, there will be no one to borrow the ‘rescue’ money from.

“Experts are increasingly tending towards the worst case scenario, stating that soon we are likely to observe a crisis of state finances, the extent and consequences of which will far surpass the financial crises of previous years.”

My Comment: We are faced either with the collapse of the global financial system or its gradual transition to a rational form. If we consider how the “leaders” remain deaf to Integral Education, obviously, the collapse is inevitable …

Unemployed Young People Push Europe To Revolution

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Wolfgang Schäuble, German finance minister): “‘We must win this battle against youth unemployment,’ Mr. Schäuble warned, ‘or we will lose the battle to hold Europe together.

“From the suburbs of Stockholm to the streets of Athens, ‘however, the battle is being lost one riot at a time. The unrest that recently rocked Sweden reflects a youth unemployment rate of almost 25 per cent, with young immigrants hit hardest. The jobless rate among those under 25 stands at 60 per cent in Greece. It’s 56 per cent in Spain and above 40 per cent in Portugal and Italy.

“And that’s only half the story, since unemployment rates take into account only those young people who are seeking work. Millions more have simply stopped looking, while two-thirds of those with jobs have been reduced to part-time work or temporary contracts.”

My Comment: A whole generation is not working and does not want to. We are faced with terror up to the point of capturing power. Treatment by any means will not help; distributing drugs is also a temporary measure. In any case, only a change of consciousness and as a consequence, the attitude to oneself, society, and the world will let us continue our civilization. It is time to change the human being …

Beyond Time And Space

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from JSpace): “Physicists have long known that quantum particles can influence each other regardless of how much distance is between them in a phenomenon Einstein mockingly called ‘spooky action at a distance.’ Now, scientists at Hebrew University’s Racah Institute of Physics have proven that this rule holds true for quantum particles that do not even exist at the same time.

“Einstein’s observation, called entanglement, describes the uncertainty principle in quantum mechanics. Quantum particles of light, called photons, exist in a haze of uncertainty, and can be polarized horizontally, vertically, or, bafflingly, in both directions. However, the moment a particle is tested for polarization, the uncertainty collapses and the photon is polarized in only one direction.

“Entanglement occurs when there are two photons. Each can be polarized in one of the three directions, but entanglement links the polarization of these particles even when they are each undetermined. So when the first photon is measured as having collapsed into a vertical polarization, the second has simultaneously collapsed horizontally, no matter how far away it is.

“According to findings published in Physical Review Letters, Israeli scientists have entangled photons that don’t even exist at the same time. Eli Megidish, Hagai Eisenberg, and colleagues from Hebrew University used a scheme called entanglement swapping to prove that two photons that don’t even exist in the same moment can be entangled. The key was to use two pairs of entangled photons, and then to force a photon from each pair to become entangled with the other.

“This advance expands the reach of quantum theory’s implications. Additionally, the experiment could improve long-distance cryptography by allowing long-distance users to be linked by a quantum network.”

My Comment: We are getting closer to the border with the upper world that exists beyond time and space, but science will have to stop at its boundary because further a different mind will be required that the human being will be able to obtain only by changing his properties from egoism to altruism. In this case, he will be able to understand the actions of the upper world described in the wisdom of Kabbalah.

A Small Garden Can Feed Everyone

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from Next Big Future): “The Pronutria process is radically more efficient than current agriculture and livestock cultivation, and produces pure nutrition up to 1,000 times more efficiently, with minimal environmental impact and maximal nutrition quality.

“Livestock alone occupy 45 percent of the world’s land surface area and contribute more greenhouse gas emissions than cars, planes, and all other forms of transportation combined. Even with the yield improvements offered by GMO crops, these 10,000-year-old technologies are simply too resource inefficient to meet the world’s growing demand for nutritious food. …

“The central breakthrough in Pronutria’s technology is the discovery that single photosynthetic cells can be optimized to allow for the continuous and ultra-efficient production of essential proteins, lipids, sugars, or vitamins, using only sunlight, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and either fresh or salt water as inputs. “

My Comment: The crisis is happening in countries where the population has enough food and in general do not starve! It is possible to solve all modern problems technologically, but they cannot be solved practically until we correct the human being so that he no longer seeks to suppress others, and on the contrary, yearns to support others as his children.

Before human egoistic nature (his property to suppress others) is changed, the crisis of human confrontation with nature (the property of love and bestowal) will only expand. This crisis, since it is general, will not let us solve any of our problems. For example, while there is general abundance in the world, half of humanity will die of starvation.

The End Of Family!

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from OxygenLiveOutLoud): ”Oxygen Media released initial findings of a study conducted by uSamp, providing insights into motherhood and adoption, revealing that a whopping 87 percent of Americans believe the definition of a traditional family has evolved and 55 percent say there is no longer traditional family. …

“The study reveals American’s are becoming increasingly more acceptable of societal changes in how traditional family is defined and judged, along with the changing roles men and women take on in this new family dynamic. When looking at the idea of motherhood, more people define a ‘mother’ as the woman who raised you (82 percent) compared to the woman who gave birth to you (53 percent). …

“More people believe same-sex couples can be great parents (79 percent), women are taking on traditionally male roles today (88 percent), men take on traditionally female roles (76 percent), and even a single father can act as a mom (78 percent). …

“Most Americans admit that the definition of a traditional family has changed over the past few years.”

My Comment: All this is a product of the last stage of the development of egoism in the human being and society as a whole. The destruction of the family ends the entire first stage, the egoistic stage of human development. The next is its transition to the following stage, to the altruistic one, in which society will be similar to the entire united integral nature, will be one whole with nature, and not a cancerous tumor as it is today.

It depends on us by what force we will advance: Consciously, voluntarily, learning how to become united, or “forced into happiness” through suffering. The method of integral education is offered to humanity to learn the good path.

A Successful Woman’s Career Jeopardizes Marriage

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from ChicagoBooth): “For all the progress women have made in the past few decades—in education, work force participation, and earnings—a gender gap remains. Research by Marianne Bertrand, Chris P. Dialynas Distinguished Service Professor of Economics, suggests that this may be due to the societal expectation that a woman make less money than her husband. …

“The notion that a man should earn more than his wife not only impacts marriage rates, the researchers show, but also influences how much a married woman works outside the home and how household chores are divided. Moreover, women who deviate from that norm pay a social price. …

“A woman outearning her husband could even doom the marriage, as the researchers report this ‘increases the likelihood of divorce by 50 percent.’

“When a married woman has a career outside of the home, she may opt for less demanding and lower paying jobs in order to appear less ‘threatening’ to her husband. Or, she may choose to focus entirely on child rearing, and work part-time outside the home or not at all. Such women ‘distort labor market outcomes,’ the economists conclude. …

“Moreover, wives who earn more often end up doing more of the household chores, not less. … “One explanation for this, the researchers suggest, is that a wife making more money is doing more chores to assuage her husband’s unease. But serving as both the primary breadwinner and the primary homemaker may be draining. That, the researchers point out, ‘may be one of the mechanisms behind our results on divorce.’—Emily Lambert.”

My Comment: Once we establish balance with nature, meaning that we will work only to the extent of maintaining a rational lifestyle, the concept of earning will disappear; a career will be the notion that brings benefit to society; everyone will be able to give and receive without causing jealousy; the basis of inequality will disappear.

Is Europe Ready For Integration?

Dr. Michael LaitmanOpinion (Yevgeny M. Primakov, Russian politician and diplomat, academician, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, served as the Russian Foreign Minister, Prime Minister of Russia): “Europe shows that no integration can exist without supranational structures. Now in the EU as a whole, things are bad, but I do not think it will lead to the end of the EU. There is a greater need for supranational structures, in which countries pass some sovereignty.

“These national structures manage the banking environment, the budget process of all the members of this union. If this does not exist, the integration will not deepen. It is important that all the EU countries understand that we need supranational structures. But the EU has expanded too fast – you cannot accept many countries in the integration process at once; they sink the union.”

My Comment: The problem is not in the speed of entering the supranational union but in the readiness of its potential members for integration, and this is possible only after implementing the course of integral education for the masses in these countries. Any union will break without changing relationships between nations.

The EU Will Begin To Fight Youth Unemployment

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (from EUbusiness): ”… European Union president Herman Van Rompuy on Friday called on Europe’s leaders for help in fighting youth unemployment, now at record levels across the 27-nation bloc. …

“‘The number of unemployed people in our Union, especially of young people, is at record levels,’ he said. ‘It has become one of the most pressing issues in most, if not all, of our member states. That is why we must do our utmost to deal with it together.’ …

“The June summit ‘will be an opportunity to mobilise efforts at all levels around one shared objective: to get motivated young people back to work or education,’ he said, urging leaders ‘to actively contribute’ to fight youth joblessness.

“Fears are rising of ‘a lost generation’ with almost two out of three under 25-year-olds out of work in Greece and in Spain.”

My Comment: It is good that there are calls because the problem is growing, but as usual, funds will be allocated, plans will be created, hundreds of jobs for office workers will be created, and then one day they will remember them and see the result: wasted money… The only way out of unemployment is to occupy young people with integral education: It is inexpensive, reliable, promising.
