Question: When we look at the problems that are ripping modern society apart, how is it possible to believe that there is any chance of reaching mutual Arvut (mutual guarantee)?

Answer: In society, what happens is what the Creator arranges for us from above, even the most negative things. Believe me, everything is sealed by the Creator Himself and not by any Prime Minister, President, head of the American Congress or the European Union. Everything, down to the last atom, is managed from Above.

Question: Even if there is a feeling that half of the nation should be in prison?

Answer: Not half of the nation, rather the entire nation. Half of the nation are thieves and the other half are to blame for the first half being thieves. So everyone should be in prison, including the police.

If all of us must be in mutual mutual guarantee, then each is responsible for the other. But because we don’t influence the others as is needed, they don’t receive enough influence. So what can be demanded from us?

Only on the condition that we influence others correctly and are concerned that our influence will succeed, can we rest assured that we will see the right response from the others. But if in the meantime, their response is incorrect, then our influence is incorrect.

So the Torah has a completely different approach to punishments in comparison to what is accepted in this world. The punishment must be correction, first and foremost through the environment.

Indeed, a person is a product of his environment. The legal system must be part of the educational system, but punishment must lead to correction. In contrast to this, our prisons are universities for training criminals.

Question: What does this mean: “After all, in your eyes all of Israel are guarantors for each other, both on the positive and negative side?”

Answer: This means that the influence of the environment completely determines human behavior, both positively and negatively. It follows that if the citizens of a nation behave inappropriately, this says that the nation is in a crisis of education. Other than education, nothing else is needed.

The only thing that a nation needs, besides the ministries of defense and health, is the ministry of education. And if the educational system is correct, then we don’t need the military or medicine.

If a nation were to function according to the laws of mutual Arvut, it would not need the military or the police—nothing. They would organize everything that is necessary for material existence for themselves, and they would direct everything else towards spiritual development.

Besides education, nothing is necessary. This stems from the law of mutual Arvut, which means that you are responsible for every resident of the nation and for his behavior as a person. And if he does something that is not good, this means that you have not influenced him positively, you have not given the feeling of love.

Indeed, if he were to feel the love of everyone, this would silence his evil inclination. He wouldn’t need anything and he would feel like a fetus in his mother’s womb, that he has everything: “A lamp is lit above his head, and he looks and sees from one end of the world to the other; and they teach him the entire Torah.”

This is truly an amazing state. Indeed, we are all connected in a single network and this is now being revealed more and more. If you think about the other and influence him, whatever your influence is, this is what will be in him. And as much as your good influence is lacking, you will see this according to his behavior.

Question: When we are talking with the general public about Arvut (Mutual Guarantee), do we mean material Arvut and not spiritual Arvut?

Answer: If you are talking about material Arvut, this is a political conversation. But if we are talking about spiritual Arvut, then this is about the spirit that dwells within the people through which we can change everything. We are talking about the power that is found in the center of the group, in the center of connection.

We are not calling for people to gather and bring order to government offices, to human society, to physical life, to the schools, to the police, and so forth. We are talking about discovering a unique higher force within our connection. This power is called the power of connection, the power of Arvut, and it can organize our entire lives.

If we want to correct and organize everything through our physical powers, we need to struggle with someone and organize a civil war within the nation. But we don’t want to struggle with anyone. We only want to institute education for the people. And when the people connect and unite through this education, through studying the wisdom of connection, then they will discover the power of connection that organizes everything.

We don’t rely on anyone, not on ourselves and not on our powers. We are far from all politics, because the Light that Reforms will correct everything.

Question: But people don’t feel this Light.

Answer: The Light doesn’t interest people; what matters to them is having a good life. The lack of Light brings them all their troubles, whereas through Arvut they attain the Light that Reforms that will remove all troubles.

There is a provider of Light of great intensity, but it is found ten feet from you; and so you barely feel the vitality that comes from this illumination. But through Arvut everyone gets the power of everyone. In this way, the provider of the Light approaches us and we begin to better feel ourselves.

We turn to the same source that makes the troubles for us and attract Him to us so that He will correct everything for us. This works in a very simple form.

It is necessary only to attract this source to us and people will feel good. They also will not ask where this good comes from. Suddenly they will feel that everything is okay at work, in relationships with neighbors, with their children, in the schools, and in their family. But they will understand that this is done thanks to the Arvut, because there is a deliberate action between the Light and the Kli vessel) and people will begin to discover this. This is practical Kabbalah.

Baal HaSulam, Article, “The Arvut (Mutual Guarantee)”: And once the whole nation unanimously agreed and said, “We shall do and we shall hear,” each member of Israel became responsible that nothing shall be missing from any other member of the nation. Only then did they become worthy of receiving the Torah, and not before.

“Exodus” 24:7 “We shall do and we shall hear” at Mount Sinai refers to accepting the guarantee. Only to the degree of revealing the vessel of the damaged desires that we agree to connect to help each friend to correct the desires and approach the goal of creation, reaching adherence with the Creator, do we attract the Light that Reforms. It corrects our vessels and we put them in the framework of mutual guarantee.

Meanwhile, all the rest of the desires that cannot enter into the framework of guarantee are left out. This means that a guarantee is the condition that we must reach on every new level.

In accord with the guarantee between us, time after time, we receive the Light that Reforms that corrects us, and then we discover the Creator, the Master, we carry out the action for the sake of bestowal, reach adherence, and continue onward. On each and every level there are the conditions for guarantee that must be maintained according to the level that is attained. And in that vessel that is called guarantee, we receive the Light that Reforms.

But how can I be a guarantor for someone if I don’t have any power; I am not found beyond time, I don’t see the past, the present, and the future, and I have no possibility of changing them? I cannot change my desires. So how can I be obligated to be a guarantor for someone?

The guarantee means that I am ready to join with you with all the available forces, but I must attract the Creator to this. Because who am I to be able to be a guarantor?

At the bank I sign a guarantee for a friend hoping that he will be able to pay it. In the worst case, if he cannot repay the loan, I will somehow pay it. While here, I am simply not able to cope. How can I be a guarantor for attaining connection, for attaining adherence, for attaining the spiritual goal? I must, in place of the Creator, sign guarantees like these, otherwise this is a lie!

How is it possible to demand something like this from me if even in this world I have difficulty understanding what is happening here? All the more so, I am not responsible for what is happening on spiritual levels. So we need a higher power within our guarantee.

I don’t attract more Light than what I need to be a guarantor for others. I ask for the help and cooperation of the Creator to help everyone. This is what we can realize today!

Question: Why does a group that reaches guarantee attract the Light that Reforms?

Answer: The guarantor creates a vessel that resembles the Light. When we are still connected with external connections, this is called guarantee. So through mutual guarantee we receive the Torah, meaning the Light that Reforms, the elixir of life, the Light of correction.

The Light of fulfillment doesn’t yet reach the first guarantee because the vessels are not yet ready for it. You left Egypt only now; Pharaoh still sits within you. You brought these vessels from Egypt and these vessels are terrible: They are all just hatred, envy, lust, honor, and dominance. Everything that is in you is comes from your ego.

And you have a point in the heart through which you somehow succeed in connecting with others, and we are ready to reach mutual guarantee. According to this pre-condition, we only receive the Torah, the Light that Reforms, and only after this do we make a Zivug de Hakaa (binding by striking) with the Light, clarify our vessel, and receive within it for the sake of bestowal.

But the guarantee is the vessel, and the extent of our connection in regard to the law and terms of guarantee determines the size of this vessel.

Question: How can I be responsible for others if I don’t succeed in being responsible for myself?

Answer: Specifically because you place yourself in the service and use of others you become responsible for everyone. You don’t exist for yourself, only for the others. That is how the law of Arvut (mutual guarantee) works; others have no free choice. I am the one who determines their situation and fate since I take responsibility myself and am ready to stand in their place.

Everything that happens depends only on me. Whatever may be, for better or for worse, everything depends only on me. I connect them to myself as my lower Partzuf and provide for them.

Isn’t this insolence for me to think like this? No, this is not insolence. If we are all equal, then each one of us has a personal connection with the Creator and that is not through others. All the others follow me.

This is because there is a “point in the heart” within me, my place in the source which nobody else has. And there is a special place like this for everyone. So everyone can say that from his point of view he is the only responsible, independent one in the root of his soul, and nobody else.

Everyone has his unique personal characteristic and everything else comes from mutual integration with others. But through this unique personal characteristic, I am directly connected by a thread with the Creator and in this I am ahead of everyone. If it were not for me, they would not be complete. Only I can correct this characteristic by connecting it with the rest of humanity, meaning with all the rest of the characteristics of Malchut of the world of Infinity.

Suppose that there are seven billion parts in Malchut of the world of Infinity and each part is connected with the Creator through its specific characteristic. And all the rest of the characteristics in me are derived from mutual integration with the other seven billion.

Question: How can we bridge the enormous gap between the need to reach mutual guarantee and the real state of the world in which corruption and violence increase day by day, and which is an antithesis to mutual guarantee? How can we convince people that mutual guarantee is real and that it can be implemented and that it isn’t just some utopia as it seems today?

Answer: I remember that two years ago the whole world wore scarves that were tied in a certain way because it was fashionable for a while. Today yellow is in fashion and so everyone wears yellow clothes. Tomorrow it will be red and everyone will rush to buy new clothes. Thus we see that the world can be turned in any direction and can be programmed like a computer using different actions.

According to the most conservative estimates, humanity wastes 500 billion dollars a year on advertising. If we took only ten percent of this sum, 50 billion dollars a year, it would be enough to provide a good life for all the people in the world, to put an end to hunger and to other problems.

But now this money goes to advertising to sell products for ten dollars that are only worth a dollar. They have to charge ten dollars for the product since otherwise they will not cover the advertising expenses.

Our world is the outcome of advertising. Everything in this world, all the forms of our life, are the outcome of advertising. The way we think and speak, what we love and what we hate, what we enjoy, all the tastes and the manners of our behavior, all our inclinations, even education and knowledge, are a result of advertising. It is about determining priorities of what is more important in life.

So we shouldn’t think that mutual guarantee is not real and that it cannot be fulfilled and implemented. If we took the money that is spent on advertising and began to advertise our method of connection, we would succeed just like ordinary advertisers and even more so!

After all, we would show the world that there are facts and a good future behind our words because we operate against the evil that is already revealed to them.

So don’t say that it isn’t real. It may seem unreal to you since you still need to work in order to grow stronger and to obtain the money and additional resources needed to organize an advertising campaign, but it requires no more than that! You can program people any way you want by advertising.

Question: On one hand, we should be committed to mutual guarantee, and on the other hand, a person’s heart is evil from his youth and the evil inclination grows every year.

Answer: There should be a system that corrects the evil inclination and turns it into a good inclination. But instead, there is another system that increases and enlarges the evil inclination even more and gives it different forms. It appreciates people who know how to steal and how to take advantage of others in an even more sophisticated manner.

In addition to the evil inclination that pushes me from behind, there is another system of advertising that pulls me ahead by different evil pleasures.

Question: I have no doubt that the idea of mutual guarantee is right and I would really want it to be fulfilled in the society I live and raise my children in. The only doubt is whether there is a chance that it will work out since it is completely opposite from the way our evolution is directed.

Answer: The idea of mutual guarantee can succeed either by great afflictions and problems in the world that will leave a person no choice (and we see that this can happen if the world follows the path of natural evolution, the path of in its time). Or we can still manage to put the world on the right path, to the path of the Light.

There is no doubt, however, that our state has to end in some final way. Everyone understands that the finish line is near and that the world is about to explode. We see that daily events throughout the world are leading towards a bad direction. No one even waits for anything good anymore. When we turn on the radio or the TV we don’t expect any good news.

There are only two options: the path of the Light or the path of suffering. We can sit idly by like a fool who sits with his arms crossed eating his own flesh. But people who have received the urge towards the goal are called Israel, Yashar El (straight to the Creator), and want to discover the Upper Light.  This obliges them to reveal this Light to others (this is important).

Therefore, the method of the correction of human society by connection is revealed to people because connection includes the upper force or the Light that Reforms. People will receive an explanation about the Light that Reforms and they won’t mind as long as you make them feel that it is possible and worthwhile.

There is no other choice because this is already a social trend, the world already understands this subconsciously and is ready to accept it. This is because people see that otherwise we simply destroy one another. It is enough to see what is happening in the Ukraine or in Syria.

Question: Will we be able to tell them about games and about the wisdom of Kabbalah in such a disastrous situation?

Answer: Of course, it is done precisely in this reality. If they don’t use this method today, they will be killed tomorrow. The disasters are already lining up ready to operate on us from Above, like parachutists who jump off a plane one by one.

Question: Why does it say that all of Israel are responsible for one another?

Answer: If I am the only person in the world who determines the state of our general vessel, then of course everything depends on me.

Question: However, I am not alone in this game. The others also influence it, and there is the society!

Answer: The society also depends on me, everything depends on me. All the seven billion people are in a fixed state and I am the only one who is changing and who determines everything. I am the only one responsible for those who can act freely, but all the others do nothing.

I speak with the Creator and am responsible for them before Him, for better and for worse! If He has any complaints with them, he should talk to me. This is called mutual guarantee.

Mutual guarantee means that I am responsible for everyone. There is nothing I can ask them to do. I am responsible for everything that they do.

Start thinking from this point and don’t think that it is imaginary. It is really so. You actually are responsible for everyone.

When you listen to the news and see what happens on the streets, or when you hear the complaints of the friends who cannot reach a spiritual level to correct themselves, to connect among them, then you should know that, from this moment onward, everything is in your hands. You are responsible for everything.

You create and make everything that is good and everything that is bad, both in corporeal life and in spiritual life. The others are not responsible for what they do. They are passive participants. They don’t determine anything. You are the only who determines how the Creator will relate to them. They encounter hurricanes, tsunamis, wars, and disasters, and who is to blame? You!

All of Israel are responsible for one another, but everyone is responsible for his own attributes and for what happens to the world with regard to it. Everyone is responsible for the wellbeing of the society and the wellbeing of the world.

Don’t say that you depend on others. You must reach the state in which you determine that the entire world is in a state of absolute goodness.

Question: How can I ask the Light that Reforms for the public if I know that this brings me pain and bad feelings?

Answer: It is written: “He who shares the suffering of the public is rewarding with seeing the comfort of the public.” Therefore it is good that a person suffers for the public. But what is the suffering about? Only one thing can make me suffer: That I still haven’t realized the program of creation that the Creator designed for me.

In fact, everything is revealed only relative to me. I am privately viewing a film of life, of reality, of humanity. And everything that is revealed before me as humanity, the  universe, and the entire creation is revealed in my vessels of perception. I have to organize them, and hence the entire correction depends of me; the end of correction (Gmar Tikkun) depends on me.

I don’t need to wait for what will happen tomorrow or in another moment. Other than myself, everything else is only parts of creation where the Creator reveals all kinds of states. I have to feel them, to process them correctly, and to direct them towards adhesion so that though this I will change my attitude towards Him. Only that!

There is no reason to wait for tomorrow and there is no reason to think that this will change in any direction. Everything is prepared and placed before me as before the only part of creation that has free choice. All the rest was created for me to use and to help me, and I was created to serve my Maker.

Question: What can be done if after we have checked the needs and the deficiencies of the friends, we see that we cannot help them, we don’t know how to fulfill their needs?

Answer: So we pray, we ask for help.

Question: How does one turn in the right way with a request, with a prayer, so that it will bring the Light that Reforms?

Answer: For that you must enter into the friend’s problem as if it were your problem.

Question: But I cannot change myself.

Answer: Right, only the friends can change you. In the spiritual path, a person sees how weak he is. In the spiritual path I discover that I have “no hands.” I have no way of helping myself and I am completely at the mercy of my environment. If the friends want it, I will advance; if they don’t want it, I will not advance.

So we reach true Arvut. To advance, I require a connection with friends. So I am ready to give them everything.

And then vice versa: I no longer want anything for myself and don’t think about my advancement. Instead, I think about having the opportunity to support them, to help them. This is true Arvut.
