Question: How can you balance the other person?

Answer: You cannot do anything with the other, you can only change yourself, work on yourself, and understand how you can bring a quality that is opposite to the current one into yourself so that these qualities balance each other, and you are between them. It is the existence between these opposite qualities that will be felt as absolute comfort.

The entire work of a Kabbalist is to absorb the whole spectrum of sensations, emotions, qualities, and definitions, and exist between them, because only in the center of this huge collection of forces and qualities is the central point to which we must come, the point of our absolute rest and fulfillment.

One cannot be without the other, just like in physical laws. How can you use only one plus or one minus, the north pole of a magnet without the south one? You have everything built on the use of two opposing forces. Necessarily! Otherwise there is no existence.

But in our world, at the human level, we use only one quality: the egoistic quality of reception without bestowal. Therefore people are special beings, not like the rest of the flora and fauna, since we have only negative egoism without positive balancing.

No matter how we compensate for it, we bring ourselves to a general crisis that shows us the need for an additional second force, a positive one. This force is called bestowal or love. Within it, just as in egoism, there are a huge amount of all kinds of forces, sensations, definitions, and emotions.

My Response: It is quite possible that the cat feels what is happening around, and this is how it acts with its children, with the kittens.

Question: Does it mean that this option is possible?

Answer: It is possible.

Answer: Of course there is. What is a natural phenomenon in us? People do not want to have children. In a way, it is also like a murder that I do not want to give life to another.

Answer: How else? I do not want to give life to another.

Question: Why do we have this in us? Why do I not want to?

My Response: It feels the environment and thus the hatred that it feels around it transfers to its children and does not want their lives.

Answer: If people correct themselves, animals will be corrected.

I am talking only about changing the attitude of man to man, which is the highest of all natural levels.

The attitude of man to man, man to animal, man to plant, man to earth, and so on—all this is included in the attitude of man to man. If we correct our attitude, then all of nature that is below these levels will be corrected, and everyone will be fine.

Medium published my new article “Your Negative Attitude to People Causes Climate Crises More Than Anything Else You Think Does”

As the climate heads into greater extremes globally, how can we best deal with future climate crises?

The short answer is that we cannot deal with them unless we take care of nature’s inner balance.

We live in a tightly-closed and interdependent system in which everything boomerangs back to us. While living in such a system, we need to reconsider what we want and think, and how we treat each other, because our human connections are the primary influence on how nature responds to us.

It is common to think that climate is dependent on factors outside of us — whether it be balances between heat and cold in the environment, or the effects of various kinds of pollution we emit — because we lack a complete picture of how our attitudes to each other bring about the strongest responses from nature toward us.

No creature distorts nature the way that we people do. And it is not simply a matter of switching to renewable energy sources, electric cars and the like; it is a matter of how we relate to each other.

If we truly wish to witness more balance throughout nature and not have to deal with all kinds of cold waves and other natural disasters, then similarly to how we have electricity, water and gas meters in our homes, we should also have meters that count how much evil we emit into the world from our negative attitudes to each other. What I mean is that if we could feel the extent to which we emit negative forces into the world, which negatively ricochet back to us, then we would wish to change this negative driver within us. We would want to switch it to a drive that makes our human connections positive, and which harmonizes us with nature.

In simple terms, when we get up in the morning, we should first and foremost consider what we need to do in order for all people to have it good. Developing such an attitude is not so simple, yet we will need to seriously work on it as we head into the future. A life of increasing blows from nature or a life of peace and harmony depends on the extent to which we impact a shift in our attitudes to each other — from negative to positive.

He wrote in a telegram: “All is discovered! Flee!” According to the story, the next morning, all twelve bankers disappeared from London. Everyone turned out to be thieves. And this well-known principle is that everyone is a thief, and even more so bankers.

My Response: Sure.

Question: In what case can we say: “Honest bank, honest banker” and is it even possible?

Answer: The banking system is built on the principle that there can be no honesty. So I can’t imagine how it could be. After all, you’re always thinking about how to win, how to give some interest, and so on. That is, everything is built on winning, and winning cannot be honest.

Question: In what case can this system be honest?

Answer: Only if you are the bank of the whole world, and the whole world will be yours, and you will think only about the good of the world, then maybe something will work out.

Question: So I’m kind of responsible for the world as a bank, and I have to assume that these are not my clients, but my children?

Answer: Sure.

Question: Is this system possible, in principle?

Answer: In principle, it is possible, of course. Why not?

Comment: But this is a completely idealistic, detached from life system.

My Response: We just need to cut egoism out of humanity, and then the normal “meat” will remain that will only care about everything’s existence.

Question: On what principle is this bank based?

Answer: On making everyone feel good, everyone has everything.

Question: And due to what will I live as a banker?

Answer: Due to the fact that you will see how what you do benefits everyone.

Question: And this gives me vitality?

Answer: Absolutely everything.

Question: Will I have something to live from, to support the bank?

Answer: We’ll leave you something.

Question: And this “little bit” will be enough for me?

Answer: Yes.

Comment: Meaning, I will not have an inner cry: “More and more!”

My Response: No. You won’t have anything at all!

Question: What will I have?

Answer: You will have a great, deep, personal pleasure from a well-lived life.

Question: And is it worth all the money? And is it worth everything at all?

Answer: You will have perfect status!

Comment: Today it is clear that the whole system is rotten because it works exclusively for itself—to profit.

My Response: If it will work for everyone, and everyone will participate in everything, then it can be applied and played with forever.

Question: What will be the currency of this bank?

Answer: Happiness, tranquility, and peace of mind for everyone. And the most important common property will be boredom. 🙂

Everyone will be bored. Why move, live, do something? Nothing! Everyone walks with dull eyes, they don’t see anything in front of them and that is how they lost the meaning of life.

Question: So what is happiness then? What kind of bank have we built if everyone is bored?

You said, “Happiness. The main currency is the happiness of all.” I want it to be like this. This is the main currency of the bank, and it exists for this.

Answer: I do not know what can be done then. If you take away a person’s egoism, his nature, then he will not have happiness.

Question: Then what can egoism be replaced with so that we still have happiness and there is such a growing one? What is the best way for us, for humanity?

Answer: No, we will not get rid of egoism. And if we get rid of it, then we will fall into such a state that death is better.

Question: How can we turn it around then, this egoism?

Answer: It is only possible when we work in an appropriate healthy team that will work according to the system of Kabbalah.

Question: And what will egoism be transformed into?

Answer: It does not transform. It simply begins to feed on giving, love, and the saturation of others, in the same way a mother enjoys when she gives to her baby.

Question: And this is a likely option?

Answer: This is a possible option. A woman who is breastfeeding enjoys the fact that the baby is sucking on an animal level. It’s the same with animals.

If in this way you feel that you can create such a society so that people feed each other like this, from themselves, then you will succeed.

Question: But all the same, you say that this society is based on egoism, only inverted?

Answer: Yes.

Question: So I get pleasure from feeding others?

Answer: Yes. Or if you find a way, although this is also questionable, to make everyone feel like relatives, but very close and dependent on each other, then it is also possible.

Comment: I watched a movie about an attempt to create an endless system of jobs by developing consumption. In it they say that a concern was created in 1928 that minimized the lifespan of products and even imposed fines. Due to this, they created a permanent consumer basket.

My Response: Let’s say any product that is sold to us will have a useful life of a month, a year, or maximum of five years, and then it will deteriorate. Or I will buy a computer knowing that a year later, on the same day I plug it in, something will turn on inside that will burn it, and I have to throw it away.

Maybe I will be able to even bring this computer to the store and get another, more advanced model for a period of one year, or maybe for 9 months, for a 10% discount.

Let’s say we do it. Then what? What will give us this way to constantly give each other work? After all, if we are closed on each other in this way, it is as if we did not produce perishable things.

It is stupid to deplete the earth. It is impossible to constantly pull out anything we want from it. After all, there is a time when oil, gas, metals, precious metals, and so on may run out. There is a date when we will not have enough water. They are already talking about the times when we will not have enough air. What will you do then, sell air, sell water, until they completely disappear?

Even if nature did not have the task of bringing us to the recognition of a dead end in the process of our development, this path is still completely unrealistic and irrational.

Question: How do we benefit from crisis?

Answer: You can benefit from a crisis only if you understand what a crisis is, what its real cause is, and how to cure the world of it. Otherwise, there is no answer to this.

I believe that crises are entirely due to bad relations between people that lead to wars and other problems. The wisdom of Kabbalah, which I am engaged in, answers this question in this way and encourages everyone to come closer to each other. Only to the extent that we get closer to each other will we see positive changes in the world.

Coming closer to each other means that people will trust each other more, help each other more, and harm each other less.

Question: How can one survive in the modern world?

Answer: I think we should not only survive but think about how to simply live well: freely, justly, without being afraid of anything or anyone, not being defensive, so that everyone has everything, and children to have a good future. I think it is this year that we will be able to begin to understand what the path to this should be.

Question: Let’s say a person wants to live his life normally and sees such a terrible crisis around him. How can he deal with it?

Answer: This crisis depends only on our relations. If we really want the world to change, we need to improve our relations.

Nothing more! Then everything will be different: the sun, clean air, everything will bloom, the earth will give good fruits and a harvest. Everything will be fine, but only if there are positive changes in the relationships between us.

Man is the only harmful animal in this world that cannot help but spoil it! He must recognize this and correct the world.

Answer: Just influence. You do not have to learn anything. Just try to look at others in a more friendly way, and life will change. This is pure psychology.

Michael Laitman, On The Times of Israel: “Living in a World of Gray People”

A student told me about a forty-four-year-old woman who had decided when she was younger never to have children. But now that she is older, she wonders if she made the right choice because even though she has friends and relatives, it is not the same as having her own children, so she is afraid of growing old alone.

She is not the only one, the student told me. Today, many young people do not want to have children, either because they do not want to raise them in such a terrible world, or because they feel that there are too many people in the world already, and the planet cannot support all of us.

I cannot say that these stories surprise me. When people suffer, when they see that life is tough and they are only trying to survive, it is only natural for them not to want their children to experience it. As a result, many decide not to have children.

At the same time, the phenomenon of childlessness is much rarer in third-world countries than it is in Western countries, where the standard of living is much higher. This makes no sense unless we take into consideration that the quality of life is measured not only by one’s ability to provide for one’s physical existence, but also, if not mainly by one’s sense of happiness in one’s social environment.

When people have secured their physical existence but cannot find emotional satisfaction, their lives become gray, colorless. Especially in Europe, where people have everything, they also have coldness in their hearts and grayness in their lives. Nothing is more depressing than a colorless world, especially for children, so people do not want to bring them into such a world.

When my student asked what I thought would happen to those children who are born into today’s gray world, all I could tell him was what the wisdom of Kabbalah says, as I had seen it written in the writings of Baal HaSulam and as my teacher, RABASH, the firstborn son and successor of Baal HaSulam, had told me. They say that unless we change the society we live in, humanity will plunge into another era of world wars. They predict a third, and even a fourth world war, but this time nuclear ones.

Since the end of World War II, we have had a relatively quiet period, without global conflicts. It was a time when we could harness the lessons from the two world wars we had experienced in the first half of the 20th century, but we didn’t. We kept on arguing and fighting “cold” wars and proxy wars, until the window of opportunity had closed on us, and now we are approaching the realization of the warnings of Baal HaSulam and his son, RABASH.

For all the knowledge humanity has gained, for all its power, technological, military, and industrial achievements, and for all our knowledge of history, we cannot seem to change the course of the world toward anything enlightened, toward a good future. The one thing humanity has not learned throughout time is how to make our lives safer and calmer by simply caring for each other.

Instead of using our knowledge to improve our lives, we are playing with it like toddlers holding a loaded gun. This cannot end well.

If we want to add brighter colors to our world, we have to add another field of knowledge to our learning: how to care without wanting to dominate. These brighter colors lie with the people around us: They are the new perspectives that they bring, the new ideas and attitudes that enrich human society. If we embrace these myriad colors that surround us, the differences between us will not threaten us but strengthen us.

If we want to add some blue-sky colors to our lives, we need to find new horizons, horizons that exist in the dreams of others. If we learn to care about them, they will become our dreams, as well. If we want to add some green-grass colors to our lives, we must learn to be happy when our neighbor’s lawn is greener than it was. Not that it is greener than ours, but simply that it is greener than it was, and that our neighbor feels happy and content.

If we do this, then we will add the color I like the most: orange, the color of the sun. We already know all that we need to know in order to live in a sunny world. Now all we need is to learn how to care.

Question: What is goodness?

Answer: Goodness is an understanding of interdependence—all the way to love. And evil is vice versa.

Question: But each side in any conflict thinks that it is doing good.

Answer: We need to rise above ourselves and start thinking only about making everyone feel good, not one at the expense of the other. Otherwise, we will not get anywhere. We must learn what mutual connection, mutual dependence, mutual restriction, mutual support, and so on, mean.

That is, we must create systems that will include absolutely all of humanity. These are systems of integral development.

We must understand that we will not be able to survive otherwise. Nature will drive us out of this planet, out of this world, if we cannot establish a system that will take care of everyone.
