The Mission of Kabbalists

945Question: In our dissemination we explain to people that the world is an integral system that functions like a human body. And they perceive it positively. They agree that we must become a unified system.

What is our next step? Do we need to tell them that they should study Kabbalah or something else?

Answer: We need to explain to them how we can become an integral system. After all, we cannot do this by ourselves, but only if we are affected by the special upper force that is able to unite us.

How can we evoke the influence of the upper force that can unite our egoistic desires so that we complement each other like the cells in the body?

We cannot do this by ourselves.

Each of us is a separate little egoist closed in himself. But there is a positive force outside of us that can do this. And the science of Kabbalah teaches us how to induce its influence on ourselves.

It explains how to get together, try to connect, what actions to take; i.e., how to do everything so that the upper force begins to affect us. This is our mission. We ourselves must learn to use this opportunity and show it to others.

Can We Limit Ourselves to One Ten?

938.04Question: Why can’t we take, say, ten men, and put them in an “aquarium,” and everyone else will take care of them and fulfill the principle of mutual guarantee?

Answer: We do not need to take care of them! Let them take care of each other, that is a different matter! But if the Creator gives us, not ten, but ten thousand people today, what can we do?

Today, tens of thousands strive for unity as a solution to the world’s problems and to attain the upper world.

Wherever I go, people recognize me. In Greece, the hostess of the house we rented rooms from said, “I know you.” In Chișinău, the owner of a small hotel we stayed at exclaimed, “I did not know you booked our rooms!” It turns out many people know us. Millions!

In any country, people stop me on the street, greet me, ask questions, and talk. We are very well-known. Therefore, we cannot limit ourselves to ten people. It would not help in fact, it would be counterproductive. Why did the collective soul shatter into many parts? So it would be easier to correct them.

If we break large egoism into smaller parts, each part is easier to correct. In our world, we solve any problem by breaking it into smaller problems, solving each, and then combining them. It is the only way.

You cannot do anything beyond what is given from above. If these conditions are revealed to you, you must act within them. You are given a system of correction, and what to correct is revealed from above.

These are the conditions: this world, these problems, this crisis. Work with them. We must understand this is the best and most correct way.

Question: Is it necessary for one ten to succeed or all the tens?

Answer: Ideally, all should succeed, but even a part is possible. Everyone strives to give everyone what they need for correction, and after that, it is an individual effort for each.

Spiritual Children

947Question: Sometimes during a lesson your students start walking or doing something. How do you have patience?

Answer: When a person gets up to get a cup of coffee or cold water, I understand that he is tired, he did not get enough sleep, he is having a hard time. But I treat my students with love and understanding.

These are the people for whom I do everything; they are more important to me than children. Essentially, these are my spiritual children.

What do I have beside them? Who else will I pass this information on to? Who do I want to train? Them, to give out as much as possible through them so that they continue dissemination in the right way.

Therefore, my attitude toward them slightly softens the interference that they create. Just like a mother cannot hear her child when he or she makes noise. For her, this is normal, but for a stranger, something flickering and noisy is unbearable.

Is It Worth Making Predictions for the Future?

214Question: When we in the ten become a single desire, do we attract other people or is there a rejection effect here?

Answer: Neither one nor the other. The fact is that we are not in a normal state. Everything we are doing is new; Kabbalists have never acted like this. They developed individually.

According to Baal HaSulam, when we reach the level of the last generation, then, based on what all Kabbalists have written at least for the last few centuries, we must create tens or a large group, and begin disseminating to all of humanity. Therefore, sometimes I cannot give you an exact answer to the question posed.

Kabbalah is a very practical science. What we are doing is what we see. So it is written: “A judge has only what his eyes see.” Only based on what we can explore, see, and record, it becomes clear to us that this is how it should be.

I do not know how future events in the world will happen. I can only guess and sometimes write about it. But in general, I try not to make predictions because in reality nothing is known for sure.

We must act according to the same principle of drawing closer to each other and to the Creator, and the result at each stage can sometimes be different. This is a natural phenomenon in nature. But it is always for the better even if it feels undesirable to us.

The Language of the Kabbalist Researcher

525Question: Is your Hebrew based on a limited vocabulary?

Answer: Yes, indeed, but no more is needed.

In the last century, there were two great Kabbalistic sages: our great teacher Baal HaSulam and the great Kabbalist Rav Kook. Rav Kook always told Baal HaSulam that he envied his small vocabulary, with which he could convey huge layers of knowledge, sensations, and insights.

Rav Kook himself was, so to speak, the master of the spiritual word, the literary language. His language is very flowery, verbose, complex, and confusing. As long as you read one phrase, a page and a half long, like Leo Tolstoy, you can hardly understand anything. But that’s how he expressed himself. It also depends on the character of the person.

As for me, since at my core I am still a researcher, scientist, and systematiser, I do not tolerate anything superfluous. Therefore, in my speech, in my explanations, I try to make everything concrete.

I believe that this is the most important thing in human education. And feelings already depend on his inner work.

The Dilemma Humanity Faces

115.06Question: How do we find that point where we can interact among ourselves on the level of desires and aspiration toward the Creator rather than on the level of bodies and characters?

Answer: We do not speak at all about the animal body. It has no relation to spiritual work because it belongs to the level of our world. We do not speak about our characters because the Creator assembles us. This is His “problem.” He created us with these characters and gathered us together just the way we are, so that we understand that we can unite only with His help.

Moreover, He gathers very difficult people: nervous, angry, nit-picking ones that are inclined to criticize. Kabbalists in all times were the most dreadful people, the biggest egoists. Otherwise they would not demand knowledge of the meaning of life, its cause, its source. For this, a great egoistic desire is necessary.

These are people who cannot think about anyone but themselves. Not that they are rude or cruel, no. That is just how they are inside. And it is they who begin to reveal that they cannot unite but must do so.

Here arises a dilemma that humanity faces. If we do not unite, then eventually we will come to destruction. Look at what is happening today, what frictions between everyone, what calculations. Horror! So many sources of all sorts of conflicts!

The Creator deliberately awakens this among us so that we understand that there can be nothing better than unity. But we cannot unite. We do not even think about it because we understand that it is pointless, that every state cares only about itself. Moreover, within each state there are dozens of currents, parties, that tear it apart. Human society is tearing itself apart from within by its egoism.

And here we must demonstrate that against egoism there is a force that can unite us. In general, everyone agrees that revealing such a force is good. We just need to show through our own example that this is possible.

And then we will be able to convince humanity not theoretically and not with beautiful words, to aspire toward mutual guarantee too; we will show how it works. Otherwise, no one will take us seriously. This is what we must do.

Expiration Date of Kabbalah

222Question: Do Kabbalah lessons have a statute of limitations? Why do we keep recording and updating them?

Answer: Firstly, Kabbalah is being updated with each generation as new souls descend into our world and require a suitable exposition of Kabbalah.

Of course Kabbalah does not change. The structure of the universe is unchanging. But since we are changing, we must receive an updated methodological guide to the disclosure of the universe every time. Therefore, every Kabbalist in his generation felt responsible for this and added something to Kabbalah.

Thus, a huge number of Kabbalistic books appeared, which we do not even know, because now, by a happy coincidence, all of Kabbalah has been compiled, assembled, decomposed, analyzed and synthesized for us in the works of Baal HaSulam. Therefore, we do not need to be distracted by other sources.

By the way, I didn’t know about Baal HaSulam at first. They didn’t want to tell me about him. You can’t imagine how many books I went through, what a huge library I had! And now there are only our books left. However, there are also books by Ramhal, AGRA, such recognized Kabbalists. But, in general, apart from the books of Baal HaSulam, we practically do not need anything else.

After I went through all the other books on Kabbalah, especially RAMAK and the more ancient Kabbalists, I realized that there was nothing to do. I am very glad that I discovered Baal HaSulam at the time and settled on him. And to this day, I see that this is the only source for us, not the first among the others, but simply the only one.

And we for our part must also take care of the people who come to us, because they need to adapt the works of Baal HaSulam.

The Process of Transmitting Spiritual Information

276.02Question: You claim that the more a person is connected to the spiritual system, the more information he can transmit through himself to the outside. But is this formula even correct?

For example, there are people who can write beautifully and do something, but they do not carry the spirit of unity. Suppose, they have written something about Kabbalah, but there is nothing of internal connection there. Conversely, suppose there is an actor who has transferred enormous information through himself due to unification.

Answer: This can only be seen by a person himself (if it can really be seen): how he behaves, how he has been positioning himself over many years of spiritual work.

Firstly, whether he criticizes others or whether it does not matter to him at all; whether he pulls students to him or freely releases them, which means that you can come and go at any time; how he exists on his own, and what occupies a greater place in his life: he with his egoism or the teaching itself.

As for people who are not yet in spiritual attainment, there is a problem with them because anyone can speak beautifully. Depending on whether he is a good speaker, you will listen to him, but in the end, you may not take anything. But what difference does it make to us?

A person can understand and realize only what he has already gone through. Therefore, nothing can be said in advance anyway.

I give out a lot of information; some people begin to understand it earlier, and others later. A person somehow adapts himself to this, and suddenly it pops out from within: “Oh! This is actually so.” He heard this maybe a year ago or many years ago; such things do happen. Perhaps in 20 years you will suddenly hear a phrase that you heard today and understand it.

That is, it is useless to tell a person something in advance, to warn him, and to protect him. You just have to wait patiently until he goes through all his states. Until he experiences them, he will not understand what is being said.

Question: What happens if your student, who is engaged in dissemination, transmits something to the outside?

Answer: In this way he then transmits my phrases through himself, and you perceive them. In the same way, our translators and my students broadcast them in all corners of the world. And it does not matter to you whether you receive information through me or through them.

This is just fine. If people learn from me and are attached to me, then, in general, they convey the correct information without realizing it by themselves.

Faithful Shepherd

750.03Question: Suppose one watches recordings of your lessons. How do you differentiate between where you are present and where you are not, and when information is simply transferred through you?

Answer: I am always not present. Who am I after all?! I am an element of the system that does the work it needs to mediate between the upper and the lower levels, and I am in the middle.

That is a function, a position, and nothing more. Therefore, if a person can perform it without introducing any distortion or disturbance, then he is called a “faithful shepherd” (Rohe Ne’eman), like Moses. He was a faithful shepherd because he led his disciples (those who heard him), but in the way the Creator showed him to the next upper level.

The work is to annul yourself as much as possible and place yourself between two levels, upper and lower, to be the ideal connecting link between them. You must reduce and lower what is at the upper level, even at numerous upper levels, to the lower level to which you need to lower yourself.

Question: How can you precisely annul yourself?

Answer: A Kabbalist performs this natural action when he works in the spiritual world. After all, this is the first condition for existing in the spiritual world when you annul your “I,” and at that moment you have no other goal than to adhere to the upper level and fulfill its will.

An Accessible Explanation Is a Profession

243.01Comment: You once said that old material is not worth listening to.

My Response: No, there are very good things in the archive. It is just that in subsequent explanations, the presentation of the material becomes more professional as more precise words are found. An accessible explanation is a profession after all.

For example, Baal HaSulam had a very good, unique language—academic, precise, and polished. But in the same era, there were many great Kabbalists, such as Rav Kook, whose works no one understands despite him having written an enormous number of books.

The greatest Kabbalist Baal Shem Tov did not write a single book at all. He deliberately did not want to write. And there were many like him who could or could not write and did so better or worse. For instance, Chaim Vital, who received spiritual heritage from the Ari, eventually collected and published these works at the end of his life, and his son and grandson continued his work.

All this is done gradually because the adaptation of materials to our world is carried out according to the souls that descend here. Can you compare the people who sat before me fifteen years ago and those today? They are completely different people.
