In Search of a Common Language with the Creator

294.4We have a problem establishing contact with the Creator. It is not difficult for us to communicate with each other because we, people, have a common language, and we can speak with one another directly or at least through an interpreter. In this way, we can communicate with each other.

In addition, we have common sense organs: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. We have the opportunity to contact each other in different ways and with the help of special devices that we invent for communication.

But what should we do with the Creator? Through what devices and by what means can we contact Him? It is impossible to do this through the same sense organs that we use to feel other people and the whole world in general.

There are many phenomena in our world that are hidden, but we try to uncover and understand them. There are phenomena that go beyond the range of our senses, and are therefore inaccessible to our perception. Yet, over time, we gradually learn more about the world around us. A hundred or two hundred years ago, a person did not have knowledge about our universe like he does today when science has advanced.

As for the Creator, there is no advancement. He was concealed from us, and He remains concealed. The upper force is concealed from us as if behind impenetrable walls, it hides behind all of nature and influences us by all possible means. But we cannot reveal it with our corporeal senses with which we live in this world.

We cannot see the Creator, hear Him, or touch Him. What should we do? Kabbalists explain that it is possible to perform ordinary corporeal actions and if you accompany them with the right intention, expressing your special attitude to the Creator, He will understand, hear, and accept it.

Gradually, due to this yearning, this desire, we can bring the Creator closer to us. The more we reach out to Him, the closer we bring Him to us, and gradually He enters into our feelings and is revealed in them at every opportunity.

At first, the Creator appears as if through a fog, through a cloud, in vague sensations. But then He manifests more and more until we discover that this upper force fills the entire space around us and there is nothing besides the Creator. Everything we see, hear, and feel in any form, everything we perceive is the Creator. In the end, we will feel that He fills the entire reality, embraces everything, and controls everything both outside and inside us.

Therefore, it is worth exploring how we can come closer to our Creator.

Full Cup of Blessing

239It is written that “a cup of blessing must be full,” full of prayer, our hopes, and a burning desire to stand before the Creator. All this preparation in the heart is called a cup of blessing.

We ask for a blessing, we ask the Creator to transform our nature, to change our heart, so that instead of egoistic thoughts and desires, He will give us the desire to bestow through all living beings to Him, to the Creator.

This is what is called a cup full of blessing. We bless the Creator, thank Him that although He created us with a will to receive, cruel, and blind; nevertheless, He gave us the opportunity to wrap it in bestowal, in its opposite.

We understand what great change must happen in us, and we are grateful to the Creator for giving us the opportunity to combine two opposite forms within us: our egoism, reception, and bestowal. When we combine these two forms, we will come closer to the Creator, become similar to Him, rise to Him, able to understand and feel Him, and become like Him.

Therefore, before we come into contact with the Creator, we need to feel where we really are, why the Creator created us in this form, and what we need to do to turn ourselves over and make ourselves similar to Him. It is on the basis of these two opposite forms that we can, on one hand, remain created beings, and on the other hand become similar to the Creator, and thus reach our complete correction.

The Sufferings of Love Are Sweet

515.02Question: Is the ordinary suffering in this world not enough for us, must we add suffering to ourselves by yearning to reach the upper world? Does it mean that by embarking on the spiritual path, a person doubles his sufferings?

Answer: Yes, you multiply your suffering in order to traverse this path as soon as possible! What else can push you forward?

However, we are not sent suffering from above, we by ourselves need to reveal the suffering of love within us.

The reforming light causes us the sufferings of love for it, and we rush forward driven by these sufferings, and not by life’s sufferings like animals who are beaten, do not understand anything, and run away from the blows of fate.

Therefore, from above they are waiting for us to start acting. But we think, well, we can wait until help comes from above and everything is arranged by itself.

But what kind of help can come from above besides the sufferings of the corporeal world that will make us move forward?!

If you are included in the group, you will get spiritual sufferings and you will start moving faster.

This is a feeling of spiritual emptiness, the sufferings of love. Then there will be no need to push you with ordinary sufferings.

If you yourself are yearning to move forward at the speed that is determined for you according to your initial spiritual data, your Reshimot, then there is no need to push you by a “stick to happiness”.

However, if you already rise so high that you connect with all the other souls, you begin to suffer for them, as a mother suffers for her children. Therefore, it seems to us that Kabbalists also suffer in this world.
