Whom to Love?
Question: What does it mean to love the Creator? Whom should I love?
Answer: You must love everyone except yourself, because you yourself are what stands in opposition to the Creator. Therefore, to the extent that you cease loving yourself, you will rise above yourself and draw closer to the group (the ten) and to the Creator.
Question: If I need to love everyone else but not myself, how does this relate to “love your neighbor as yourself”?
Answer: The point is that just as you egoistically love yourself, you must altruistically love your neighbor.
Question: You say we should rise above our disagreements. But what if there is someone in the group whom I find unpleasant?
Answer: That is exactly where you need to rise above your dislike for them and correct your attitude. How? Ask the Creator to help you do this.
