Where there is labor, there is the Sitra Achra [other side], for the Sitra Achra is in deficiency (Baal HaSulam, Letter 55).

Question: What does it mean that we exert efforts in our connection with friends, and how will we be rewarded with holiness?

Answer: As long as we remain in egoistic desires, our efforts pass through a heavy barrier.

The moment we become bestowers efforts disappear and we joyfully and easily acquire the property of bestowal and remain in spirituality.

Here and now, in one hour, we can do much more than over a very long time thanks to many actions in the upper world.
