When the Creator Is Great in Your Eyes

276.02A person must try not to want anything, and that his only desire will be to bestow contentment upon the Creator and not for his self-love, but for the love of the Creator. This is a great effort because it is against the nature with which he was created (Rabash, Assorted Notes, 545, “Laboring and Finding“).

Question: What is this state where a Kabbalist is always in the desire to bestow?

Answer: It is a state where the Creator is great in their eyes. Because of this, they want to bestow to Him. This is our attitude toward someone who is above us.

Question: What does it mean: I want to bestow to Him? Do I look for some ways, or do I do this through connection with the ten?

Answer: In any way possible.

Question: But isn’t this some kind of intimate, tangible connection with someone you feel?

Answer: At first it may not be so personal or intimate.
