Place Of Connection With The Creator

947Question: When the annulment of egoism comes from the Creator, it is a very painful state. How can we achieve the property of annulment by ourselves? Is it possible?

Answer: It is impossible. The only thing we can do is just to ask the Creator to do it. We are creations. And a created being is what has been created and cannot change itself. So nothing will help us.

But to seriously ask the Creator to really do what is needed is possible only through a group, which is a system through which we connect with the Creator.

We understand that in our age of technology if I want to connect with someone, I must act through some kind of a switch that will connect me to the place where I want to get through. That is, a network, a connection, a line, is needed; knowledge of how all this is done is needed. And all this is done through the group.

Part of the group must be created by us, as Rabash and other Kabbalists write. These principles have been known for thousands of years. And the other part is made from above, by the Creator, in accordance with our efforts. This is mutual work in a group where we begin to meet with Him.

When we create a group and each time improve it and make it more composed, devoted, and connected with each other and with the goal, we build ourselves and our connection with the Creator, and He changes us. That is how we act.

Bring Back The Creator From Exile

938.04Question: How do we fill the space between us and the Creator?

Answer: It is very simple. We strive to help each other get closer, unite, and thus reveal that the Creator is among us.

He didn’t go anywhere; He didn’t hide. It is we who, by our egoism, our mutual rejection of each other, have hidden Him among us. And now, when we try to get closer, and thus gradually, to the extent of our efforts, to understand, feel, and help each other, to that same extent we reveal the Creator, who was always between us.

He was only in hiding, as they say, in exile. And now we are pulling Him out of this exile and asking Him to be revealed.

Question: How can we ask the Creator to fill the space between us if that space is created by a lack of interest in connection?

Answer: You must develop this interest in the connection. Otherwise, you won’t achieve anything. You must always feel that there is an emptiness between you, and you must overcome this emptiness until you are in one desire, in which the Creator will be revealed.

The Main Thing Is The Desire For Spirituality

528.01Baal HaSulam, Shamati 99: “He Did Not Say Wicked or Righteous”: If one does not have any desire or craving for spirituality, if he is among people who have a desire and craving for spirituality, if he likes these people, he, too, will take their strength to prevail, and their desires and aspirations, although by his own quality, he does not have these desires and cravings and the power to overcome.

If a person finds himself inside a group and those people whom he sees in the group are pleasant to him and do not repel him, then by being with them, he is gradually imbued with their goals, aspirations, desires, and ideals.

Therefore, we must be aware that we are in a Kabbalistic group and humble ourselves before our friends in order to envy them and to draw near them.

Question: What does it mean that people who strive for spirituality are pleasant to me?

Answer: You love them, respect them, and you want to be like them and be with them because they, like you, yearn for spirituality. And you realize that without these people you will not reach spirituality.

Question: Are they pleasing to me only because they yearn for spirituality? I don’t care what they are really like?

Answer: Of course not! What difference does it make whether they are black, white, red, have a beard, or are lop-eared! The main thing is that I have same desires as them and strive for the same goal. I understand that without them I will not achieve it.

Imagine that you are in a raging sea in the same boat with ugly, scary people. But you will not reach the shore without them! What can you do? Anyway, you gradually realize that this is what your egoism depicts to you.

Do Not Separate Yourself From The Group And The Creator

528.01Question: Do we attract the reforming light when we strive to connect with the ten?

Answer: Certainly. How else? I can realize this connection only if I attract the upper light, the upper force, the quality of bestowal, love, and connection. It cannot be otherwise.

We somehow separate ourselves from the group and the Creator and cannot imagine all this together. And at every moment of our life we must envision this to ourselves as the goal. What I am advancing to? What should I achieve? What should I see in front of me as the next state?

Me, the group, and the Creator—this is called “Israel, the Torah and the Creator are one.” That is what I have to imagine. And then there will be no problems and mistakes.

“How Do Societies Change, And What Are The Major Forces Of Change?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: How do societies change, and what are the major forces of change?

Our nature is to enjoy, to receive pleasure, and our desire to enjoy constantly grows. As a result of its development, it demands new and different fulfillment time and again. Likewise, the more the desire to enjoy grows, the more humanity develops increasingly sophisticated ways to fulfill itself.

We are currently in a unique state. Capitalism has reached its dead end. We have been trying to revive it for the past 50 years or so, but it has not worked out. Today, nature is developing us into a new state against our will.

In the past, we participated in transitions that transpired throughout society, because such transitions aligned with the growth of our egoistic desires, our nature. We developed each successive degree of our society, taking steps to shift from slavery to feudalism, and then to capitalism, which is what we now have.

Today, however, we will not find peace by remaining in a capitalistic system, and we will be unable to create the next level of development by the force of our own will, because we have reached a satiation of our egoistic development. Our ego no longer needs to grow to a new level of development, and we thus have no need to build any new state through our ordinary means, as we have done in the past.

Our next degree of development will be one that opposes our ego. We will need to adapt to our next degree of development by inverting our egoism, as well as ourselves. We will need to grow consciously, to recognize that the egoistic force that has driven our development until today is a negative force that leads us to more and more problems and crises in our current era. Through realizing the negativity in our egoistic desires, we will then need to conclude that we need to rise to an opposite state.

Today, the ego no longer develops us. Nature is developing us according to its own form, which is altruistic, interconnected and interdependent. We thus need to adapt ourselves and build humanity in harmony with nature, and no longer develop by contradicting it. We must develop ties of positive connection throughout human society instead of letting the egoistic forms of exploiting others in the name of self-benefit proliferate.

Today, we are on the verge of a whole new kind of transformation and transition. We can no longer develop by naturally following the ego’s growth, because the ego has become overblown and has satiated its development.

It is very difficult, because humanity does not understand that we have satiated egoistic development, and governments certainly do not understand. Crony capitalism is in a state where each of its proponents holds up the others, and does not wish to think about any change.

Kabbalists today feel it as their duty to explain what humanity will soon encounter, because as opposed to the revolutions we had in the past, which changed the face of humanity, we now encounter a time not of revolution, but a complete inversion. Let us hope that we will succeed in explaining this, and by doing so, that we will help understand and mitigate the changes that human society needs to undergo. Otherwise, humanity will undergo the next phase of its development through a lot of unfortunate pain and suffering.

Based on the video “Why Do Changes Happen?” with Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman and Chaim Ratz. Written/edited by students of Kabbalist Dr. Michael Laitman.

Under The Control Of The Creator

528.04Question: If I need to annul myself completely before the ten, how can I be sure that the ten does not deviate from the course even by one degree?

Answer: That is none of your business. The ten is under the rule of the Creator. You cannot start examining it to check how correct or incorrect it is and whether it has flaws or not. You have to annul yourself toward it.

I mean, if it is organized and everything in it is arranged according to the system of Baal HaSulam and Rabash, and you want to advance in it, you have only one option: to annul yourself. The one who does not annul himself falls. He goes back to his animalistic life.

Question: Why do I need to annul?

Answer: So that you become similar to the Creator. We must annul our egoism and acquire the quality of the Creator, the quality of bestowal and love. Then we will begin to feel eternity, infinity, and perfection, to feel absolute nature. The Creator wants to bring us to this.

Question: What should I do when I see that my friends awaken hatred in me that I cannot control?

Answer: Very good! It means that you need to work with this up to the point when you will like everything that your friends are doing the way you would like it in your little child.

How Do We Make The Mutual Guarantee?

931.01Question: Is it appropriate to sign the mutual guarantee in writing or is it enough in words?

Answer: Not in words and not even in writing. Mutual guarantee must exist between us when we feel that we are all in the same Kli (vessel) together, depend on each other, and must support each other.

Only through helping a friend can I realize myself. I cannot raise anything from myself to the Creator except by carrying it through the group.

Therefore, understanding the structure of the Kli leads us to realize why we need such laws of commutation with the Creator through the ten, through mutual guarantee, and by raising above ourselves.
