To reveal harmony, unity and perfection, the Creator created a system opposite to Him. That’s how you can research Him. Through the negative system, you’ll reveal the Creator as the only and perfect one. Precisely by virtue of egoism, which He created opposite to Him.
For Rosh HaShanah, I would like to wish everyone what we lack most—connection, closeness between us, love!
This always saved our nation, it’s in the code and chromosomes of our nation.
“Love your neighbor as yourself”—this is what we must implement between us and in the world.

On Rosh HaShanah we ask the Creator to make us a “head” and not a “tail” in the new year. This means that we want to work according to intention and thought, not according to the force of desire. We want to rise above the desire toward the thought, which is called faith above reason, and to be concerned with the intention with which we use our desire.
We do not want the desire to determine our actions as it does today. Now, we are under the control of the desire, which is driving us, determining our actions and intentions. All our intentions are aimed only at fulfilling our desires.
We, however, want to correct the relationship between the intention and the desire so that the intention would govern the desire. The intention for the sake of bestowal, which is called “faith,” will rule over the desire that will realize this intention.
This is a big shift in the spiritual work. In the beginning of the path, we only pay attention to our desire and want to realize it. Then we begin to scrutinize our intentions, which for now are also egoistic. We then, however, see that intention can be different. The reforming Light influences us and changes our attitude toward our desire to enjoy and the Creator’s desire.
As a result of working in the group, the study, and the influence of the reforming Light, we begin to perceive the Creator as more important. We have not yet revealed the Creator, but we already feel that it is important for us to think about Him, to give Him joy, to come closer to Him, and to adhere to Him. This already pertains to the intention; we ask the Creator for an opportunity to act in this way.
It follows that there is no good or evil in the world. It only appears this way to me so that I would have an opportunity to come to know the upper force, to discern it, unite with it, to attain it, and to understand the Creator.
That is, in the beginning, we are governed by the desire, and in the end, by the intention. It does not matter if the desire is to receive or to give, whenever possible I use every desire only for the sake of realizing my intention to bestow.

Question: What does the upper providence manage? What remains in the person’s power and freedom, which is not subject to management from above?
Answer: Everything except our freedom of will is the Creator’s prerogative.
Freewill means to determine at every minute what else I can add to get closer to other people.
Our task is to connect all the elements of the spiritual scheme together into a single system. I thus have to determine whether I can do this with greater success at every given moment. In essence, this is my job, and I cannot escape it. However, the question is, did I put my efforts into it or will the upper world, the Creator, force me to do it?
It is between these two possibilities that my freedom of will lies: either I myself rush forward to connect with everyone, or I will be forced from above. Therefore, freedom of will, as Baal HaSulam writes in the article of the same name, is to get involved in the environment, to receive the corresponding desires, aspirations, and goals from it, and to realize them.

The wisdom of Kabbalah has passed orally from teacher to student for 5,778 years according to the dedication and open heart of the student. The oral Torah transmits how to perform the corrections about which the written Torah speaks. For example, in the Torah of Moses, one can read how to achieve the goal of creation, which is adhesion with the Creator according to “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18). Realization of the Torah of Moses, however, requires additional guidance because in his generation, he could not have written otherwise. It is necessary to add exercises and give verbal advice in order for the student to connect with people like him in love and to discover the Creator. The Kabbalist teaches his students how to break their focus and redirect their views toward the upper world. The students must adapt themselves to discovering the Creator, the characteristic of love and bestowal. The upper world that is opened is an upside-down world; it is entirely bestowal and love beyond time, motion, and space.

Thank you for your warm words about my book in Hebrew Why Do They Hate Us?.
Further to your letter, it is my hope that the people of Israel will become familiar with the beauty and depth of the wisdom of Kabbalah and will use it to help reach a brighter future.
With regard to writing a sequel entitled Why Do They Hate Us?, I promise that it will be written, but to justify this, it is important that we focus on the fulfillment of our role to set an example and be “a light unto nations,” for all nations of the world.

PRIME MINISTER
June 19, 2018
Dear Dr. Laitman,
I thank you for sending me a copy of your book Why Do They Hate Us?, which deals with the phenomenon of anti-Semitism from the perspective of Kabbalah.
Hatred of Jews began with the dawn of our nationhood. The moral values that guide us, and the strict loyalty to our separate identity from other nations, were as thorns in the eyes of our opponents. Esau’s hatred to Jacob preceded Pharaoh’s decrees in Egypt, and those are directly related to Haman’s extermination plan in the Persian kingdom, based on the pretext that “their laws are different from those of every people.”
Traditional anti-Semitism—with its many distorted images of Judaism—gave rise to blood libels in the Middle Ages and influenced the racial theory that led to the Holocaust. Nahum Sokolov, one of the founders of Zionism, called it “world hatred for the people of the world.” Sokolov and many others believed that hatred of Jews would pass when we establish an independent state, but they were wrong. Israel’s distorted presentation as the enemy of humanity shows that anti-Semitism will not disappear from the world easily.
We do not lower our heads before the anti-Semites, old or new. We fight the lies about us, and invest efforts in disseminating the truth. At the same time we continue to fortify our strength and build our state. I agree with the main insight that stems from your book, according to which the small state of Israel must continue to adhere to its moral destiny as a beacon of light to all nations of the world.
And allow me to offer a friendly suggestion, that you should write a follow-up book entitled Why Do They Love Us?. Many countries admire our achievements in matter and spirit. They seek to deepen their collaboration with us. Our innovations in science and technology benefit the lives of millions of people on all continents. May these achievements pave the way for the redemption of humanity from its misery.

Question: How can degrees of different qualities be multiplied with each other: five degrees of the individual soul and five degrees of the spiritual worlds?
Answer: They do not multiply; rather, they mutually enter into each other. Each of the degrees has 10 parts, and each of them also has 10 parts, and so on indefinitely.
Five Sefirot form one Partzuf, five Partzufim form one world and there are five worlds in total. So we get: five Sefirot times five Partzufim and times five worlds—125 basic degrees.
However, when we go through them, we also include many other sub-degrees that are formed within us. Yet, we do not take them into account because they accompany our actions. We cannot take into account billions of various small desires that exist in us on the inanimate, vegetative, and animate levels and the smallest nuances in our relationships with each other.
We are in an integral system and when a person makes even one small movement, he affects the entire system. You pulled something, like a spider pulls a strand and the entire web is immediately activated. It is the same here.
