One Must Know Hebrew

294.2Question: The Russian-speaking KabU (MAK Kabbalah Academy) community in Israel is united by linguistic and regional characteristics. On one hand we live in Israel; some have been in the country for decades while others have recently moved. On the other hand, while living in Israel, we study in Russian and came to Kabbalah thanks to MAK.

Should we strengthen our Hebrew and get closer to Hebrew-speaking groups in the country?

Answer: Undoubtedly, because all Kabbalistic literature written several centuries ago and several decades ago is all in Hebrew.

Occasionally, sources are found in Arabic, sometimes in Russian, but they are few, and no one seriously engages with them. By the way, they are also translated into Hebrew.

Our academy exists in many countries. We teach in more than 30 languages. But one must know Hebrew.

Directing Pleasure toward the Creator

239Question: How can I correctly calculate what portion of pleasure I give to the Creator and not be deceived?

Answer: That is not easy. A person must see how they structure all their pleasures and direct them either toward themselves, their friends, or the Creator.

Question: Where should this work begin?

Answer: It does not matter where. The main thing is that you want to change the cause of this pleasure so that it is directed toward the Creator.

Maintain the Correct Intention

204Question: If I realize that I will not be able to maintain the right balance when trying to separate spiritual pleasure from corporeal pleasure, should I abandon this desire?

Answer: No, absolutely not. You must still push yourself and move forward.

Question: What if I was not able to maintain it?
Answer: Next time you will. Ask for forgiveness from the Creator and keep moving forward.

From Immersion in Connection

938.02Question: There are generations of Boomers, X, Z, and Y. Now the Alpha generation is growing up. How do we create material that will be interesting to them?

Answer: I think the most important thing for you is to study the wisdom of Kabbalah itself, delve deeply into it, and try to connect it with the questions you receive from the world. It is very important to stay connected with your friends so that from your connection with them, you can form the right answers to all questions.

The point is that by immersing yourself in your friends and the connection with them, you will feel a kind of pleasure that fills you and explains everything to you. This is what you need to reach. When you reach this state, you will have the right foundation for moving forward.

No Need to Break Anything

633.3Question: If what happens outside reflects my inner world and the boundaries I see in the external world are a reflection of my inner boundaries, how can I break them?

Do I need to break them to correct the world?

Answer: You do not need to break anything or even think about whether you are breaking or building.

Question: But what if these internal and external boundaries I see prevent me from living?

Answer: You need to sort this out. By studying Kabbalah you can create such frameworks within yourself in which you will correctly feel the Creator and the universe and be comfortable within this framework.

Three Hours of Continuous Prayer

630.2Comment: At a congress every friend from the world group has a special opportunity to take part in kitchen duty. This opportunity is given only once. It lets us together form the right intention and opportunity and use it to connect with each other, which will delight the Creator and everyone at the congress.

My Response: Even if someone came from who knows where, can they only have kitchen duty once?!

Comment: Unfortunately, everyone gets only one chance of three hours to selflessly give to all the friends in the kitchen over the three days of the congress.

My Response: This is a big deal! These three hours are like three hours of continuous prayer. Maybe we do not understand this, so we just need to accept that it is so.

That is the most effective way to enter the upper world. Give these three hours all your heart and energy! Maybe this is why everyone came to the congress.

Israel’s Melting Pot

507.05Question: You once said that Israel is a very small compared to other nations. Will this ratio remain until the final correction (Gmar Tikkun)? Or will everyone become “Israel” in the end?

Answer: Clearly there are few of us in numbers, but inside Israel, it feels precisely like this. The longer you live here, and I have been living here for 40 years, the more you feel there not much difference between Hebrew-speaking, Russian-speaking, and people from other countries.

There is such a melting pot here that everything together turns into one “dish.” Therefore, I do not think that Russian-speaking immigrants will play a big role in the future, only if many of them were to come, and not many are coming.

Question: I am not asking about the Russian-speaking population, but about Israel. Will everyone become “Israel” in the final correction? Or will there be a certain part that will connect with other nations and with the Creator, fulfilling the role of “Israel?”

Answer: This will probably continue until final correction. Afterward, this may change.

Regarding Dissemination

961.2Question: What is our role as Russian-speaking Israelis in influencing the Russian-speaking population of the country? How important is it for us to disseminate to them?

Answer: The Russian-speaking community in Israel is very large. Moreover, it is wide spread outside of Israel. We publish many books in Russian and see that this is necessary. From time to time, these books are reprinted.

I think this will not disappear, and we will continue to teach and print books in Russian, not just in Russian, as many languages are spoken in Russia. If we want to reach people, we need to write in a language they understand.

Question: What are our advantages or perhaps disadvantages as Russian-speaking Israelis regarding the correction of Israeli society?

Answer: At one time I had high hopes for Russian-speaking immigrants. But over time they become ordinary Israelis and are only interested in their own affairs and their families. So I do not see any significant progress in working specifically with the Russian-speaking population in the future; however, many people among them are interested in Kabbalah.
