“I Did According To All That You Commanded Me”

laitman_239Torah, Deuteronomy 26-14: I did not eat any of it [second tithe] while in my mourning, nor did I consume any of it while unclean; neither did I use any of it for the dead. I obeyed the Lord, my God; I did according to all that You commanded me.

A person must say this on each degree and not just once during his lifetime.

That is, every day after he collects his crops, the fruits of his labor, and sees that he has done something, he must realize that all his actions and intentions from the beginning to the end were accompanied by the help of the Creator, which directed him and performed all this while, being inside the person.

“If A Bird’s Nest Chances Before You”

laitman_231_04Torah, Deuteronomy 22:06 – 22:07: If a bird’s nest chances before you on the road, on any tree, or on the ground, and [it contains] fledglings or eggs, if the mother is sitting upon the fledglings or upon the eggs, you shall not take the mother upon the young. You shall send away the mother, and [then] you may take the young for yourself, in order that it should be good for you, and you should lengthen your days.

This is a very complicated provision for which there are many explanations.

How can it be possible to take from the mother her young or the eggs that she is incubating? She will fly after you and pitifully cry for her children—those warm bundles that you are holding in your hands. That’s how it looks in the scriptures of Torah.

Is this the mercy it is teaching us?! Is it allowed to do this? At least give the young a chance to mature and have their own offspring!

The Torah allegorically speaks about that which is completely incomprehensible in our world.

In this case, the mother bird is Bina. Her children are those characteristics of Bina that she, through Zeir Anpin, passes to Malchut. That is why you can take her initial characteristics and, by using them, develop yourself in such a way that your egoism would receive altruistic intentions. That is, you take these characteristics with the goal of correction in order for you to be better in the future.

That is how in the Torah, allegorically, it speaks about spiritual work. There are many writings on the theme of Malchut receiving characteristics of bestowal with the help of which she corrects herself. But this tremendous opportunity for the correction of Malchut has nothing to do with any birds or fledglings or eggs.

It is not simple to receive the characteristics of Bina and correct Malchut. That is why it is said that from this “you should lengthen your days.” Because by receiving the characteristics of bestowal from Bina and correcting Malchut, you extend her existence, making her eternal.

It says, “If a bird’s nest chances before you on the road, on any tree, or on the ground…” “On the ground” means on your spiritual path when you go to climb the Tree of Life.

“The mother is sitting upon the fledglings or upon the eggs,” means that Bina is incubating Malchut, wanting to pass to her, her own characteristics. This is her goal, her whole life.

If the aspiration to acquire the characteristics of bestowal is born within Malchut, it means that the person found a connection with Bina. He can take them from Bina and use them within himself, within Malchut.

He releases the bird (Bina) because he cannot work with her, but with the newborn young (droplets of bestowal), he can.

The Work On Yourself

laitman_243_02Torah, Deuteronomy 25:02 – 25:03: and it shall be, if the guilty one has incurred [the penalty of] lashes, that the judge shall make him lean over and flog him in front of him, commensurate with his crime, in number. He shall flog him with forty [lashes]; he shall not exceed, lest he give him a much more severe flogging than these [forty lashes], and your brother will be degraded before your eyes.

Question: It is written: “If the guilty one has incurred the penalty of lashes, that the judge shall make him lean over and flog him.” What does it mean “lean over”? Why are these small things described in such detail?

Answer: These are not small things. It is about a person’s descent to such a state where it is necessary to humiliate not him but his egoism and to humiliate it in such a way that he will see egoism in all its ugliness and will not be able to use it anymore. He will consider using it as a baseness for the “man in him.”

This is one’s work on oneself. Therefore, all judges and jurors are needed only to help a person understand himself. He himself must select a punishment in the form of blows that come from the quality of Bina, the numeric value of which equals forty—level “forty.” He must feel these blows on himself and how much he is opposite to the quality of bestowal.

the feeling of oppositeness to the qualities of Bina, understanding of how far he is from reaching its level and the realization of evil in himself are blows on egoism, and not on a person.

“When You Beat Your Olive Tree…”

Dr. Michael LaitmanTorah, Deuteronomy 24:20: When you beat your olive tree, you shall not deglorify it [by picking all its fruit] after you; it shall be [left] for the stranger, the orphan and the widow.

Vineyards, olives, and grains represent different types of desires.

Olive oil, which symbolizes the Light of Hochma, is produced from olives. The oil is extracted by pressing, that is, through a person’s efforts when he receives something not directly from nature but through his own effort. Everything given to him by nature he uses in order to rise to the level of a “Man.”

The same is true regarding bread. Bread symbolizes the Light of Hassadim. If you do not process the grain, it is food for animals. If you process it, make flour, and bake bread, it is already a food for man.

The Giving Of The Torah or The Right To Be Human

226Question: What does it mean to live in a matrix called the Torah?

Answer: The Torah is a system for the realization of the thought of creation to delight the creature. The thought itself was already included in the initial intention. From this thought, the next step is to create a system in which various possible subsystems will evolve, that is, worlds, Partzufim, Sefirot, and then the soul divided into 600,000 souls.

This entire process flows in such a way that, from the opposition of light and vessel, the system produces the possibility to bring into existence a unique ability called self-awareness. Suddenly there appears a “somebody,” different from the Creator, opposite to Him, standing in opposition to Him and able to become His partner. This somebody reveals the upper force, the system, and adds to the whole of creation a unique element: personal involvement, that is, the freewill of this creature called Adam or man.

This entire system, the Torah, the process and all its laws, are all created only in order for such a creature to appear, who, from its own perspective, from concealment and separation, can begin the journey to freely participate in creation. We do not yet feel this unique and inherent element, free choice. Later, we will discover that it is through it that we build ourselves against the Creator and, on the other hand, we become like Him.

Here a special drama is played out between the union and opposition of the Creator and the created being, as if between a man and a woman.

Question: At what stage does this matrix, this system, allow the person to begin practical participation in its work?

Answer: With each one this happens differently, according to general and specific conditions. This depends on the function of a specific soul in the general system, on the root it came came, on the form of its existence, its connection with other parts, and their mutual interdependence.

For example, initially lighter souls have to engage in the process of correction, so that later coarser souls, such as our contemporaries, will be able to correct themselves. But they all have freewill, so when someone does not complete their correction, a delay occurs. The delay can either impact everyone or someone specific is affected in a particular way. The system is very dynamic and within it all are interconnected.

Even now we exist within the system. But, when does a person begin to participate consciously? The moment he begins to consciously work in a group.

Question: Is there a particular time that is more favorable for engaging a person to connect to the system?

Answer: There are continuous changes within the system and there are periods of time when there is more Light within it, adding a greater impact, more power, pouring energy into the entire system and especially into the souls. For the souls, this Light doesn’t come as inner Light, but rather as Surrounding Light. Because they can only be affected by the system to the degree of their similarity to it.

That is why there are times that are more or less auspicious, when the system is more or less activated. Obviously, this doesn’t happen according to this world’s calendar, but in relation to the inner workings of the system.

Holidays correspond to a particular activation from above that happens according to the system’s laws of development. There is a beginning to the process, its end, and a sequence of intermediary stages, which the collective soul must experience with respect to the three lines, right, left and middle, according to the unraveling chain of informational genes (Reshimot) and the relationships between the broken and the already corrected desires.

Within the system, there are many parameters from which it is possible to organize a system of a multitude of formulas in the form of a matrix and to solve it, conducting an analysis and synthesis of all that is occurring. This system periodically changes its activity with respect to us, and these special events, when Light intensifies or decreases, we call special days: celebrations or mourning.

The most important holiday, the most meaningful event, is the Giving of the Torah. During this time, a Light comes from above that we are able to sense and with its help, we can begin to correct ourselves and bring ourselves to similarity of form with the system. In other words, this is not an event that appears and disappears, but an opportunity to connect with the system, enter it, and begin to work together with it as partners.

That is why this holiday is so important to us. There is nothing more important than receiving the Torah, because from this exact moment, we have the right to call ourselves human, Adam, when we are in possession of the means by which we can resemble the Creator.

America Attacks Syria—Details About The Decision

laitman_273_01Comment: After Syria used chemical weapons that led to great casualties, America decided to attack Syria.

A photo of the cabinet that reached this decision appeared in Facebook. The Jews who make up half of the cabinet of ministers were tagged with the Star of David on the photo. They were the ones who forced Trump to attack Syria.

My Response: I think, on the contrary, it is detrimental for Israel. What’s the point, that they bombed a couple of old planes? If they would hit the weapons coming to Hezbollah, then it’s another matter, but for now, there’s no sense in it for Israel.

We welcomed the supposedly decisive steps, and we cannot but welcome them.

Question: The photo with the six-pointed-star reminded me of how the Jews’ homes were once marked. This is quite an anti-Semitic action. Nobody talks about who was making decision—good people or bad—all that is said is that they are Jews. How do you feel about the fact that a person wants to say: all decisions, one way or another, are made by Jews?

Answer: He is absolutely right. The Jews turn everything in the world, but they are wrong.

I’m constantly talking about this. Jews must be corrected, and then all the affairs in the world will revolve according to the extent of their correction, and the world will become better. But all the same, it will be a reflection of how the Jews act, and first of all—among themselves. The more they are apart from each other, the worse for the world. The closer they are to each other, the better for the world.

Marry The Brother’s Widow

Laitman_631_1Torah, Deuteronomy 25:05: If brothers reside together, and one of them dies having no son, the dead man’s wife shall not marry an outsider. [Rather,] her husband’s brother shall be intimate with her, making her a wife for himself, thus performing the obligation of a husband’s brother with her.

This is a big commandment that religious people observe even today.

From the point of view of spiritual work, “If brothers reside together, and one of them dies having no son,” meaning that the next spiritual degree was not attained, then the brother who will marry his wife (desire) should lead to it.

Question: But why should he marry her?

Answer: Because it is so according to the law of universal development of the single soul. You must do it. This is the law of nature.

Torah, Deuteronomy 25:06: And it will be, that the eldest brother [who performs the levirate marriage, if] she [can] bear will succeed in the name of his deceased brother, so that his [the deceased brother’s] name shall not be obliterated from Israel.

The brother and wife of the deceased understand what they are doing when they get married—by this, they continue the soul of the deceased brother.

It means that this has nothing to do with love; they just fulfill the laws of creation. And there is not any cruelty in this; on the contrary, there is the openness and frankness that give a person a feeling of being elevated in the world, a sense of truth and verity.

“You Shall Not Keep In Your Pouch Two Different Weights”

laitman_237Torah, Deuteronomy 25:13: You shall not keep in your pouch two different weights, one large and one small.

A person must conduct a court of honesty and always strive for the middle line. All the laws of the Torah are designed to construct it.

A woman between two men, one of whom has died and the other is alive, or they both are alive, but one is her husband and another is not, or two weights, large and small, and so on, all of it is the construction of the middle line in all its forms.

The Torah gives basic principles on the inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human levels on how to maintain the middle line and how to carry it on. The conquest of the land of Israel means controlling the desire in the middle line.

Therefore, it is written: “You shall not keep in your pouch two different weights, one large and one small.” After all, you must carry on all your changes according to one principle—by the middle line.

“But If It Does Not Make Peace With You…”

Laitman_155Torah, Deuteronomy 20:12 – 20:14: But if it does not make peace with you, and it wages war against you, you shall besiege it, and the Lord, your God, will deliver it into your hands, and you shall strike all its males with the edge of the sword. However, the women, the children, and the livestock, and all that is in the city, all its spoils you shall take for yourself, and you shall eat the spoils of your enemies, which the Lord, your God, has given you.

If the intentions (the male part) are not willing to change, it means they have to be annihilated. You have to take only the desires (female part) and cover them with your intentions.

“And The Kohen Will Take The Basket From Your Hand…”

laitman_276_01Torah, Deuteronomy 26:3 – 26:4: And you shall come to the kohen who will be [serving] in those days, and say to him, “I declare this day to the Lord, your God, that I have come to the land which the Lord swore to our forefathers to give us.” And the kohen will take the basket from your hand, laying it before the altar of the Lord, your God.

Kohen is the quality of bestowal, the upper quality of connecting all into one whole. If you can reach such a quality, it means that you turn to Kohen (priest).

Inside each of us, there is either an animal, a simple person, or one who begins to work on himself. In other words, my “I” begins to work on itself in order to connect with others and through this connection, with the Creator.

If I work this way with others, I am called a Levite, and if through this connection with others I begin to work with the Creator, then I am called Kohen. Then inside of all this hierarchy, I find contact with the Creator and exist in adhesion with Him.

It means that I bring my basket, meaning all my intentions and efforts, to the Kohen.
