Dr Michael Laitman Twitter

It doesn’t matter to me whether I feel good or bad—I don’t want to think about it. After all, if I run to the Creator to hide from evil—it is #egoism. But to yearn for Him neglecting the good isn’t right either …
#Kabbalah #motivation

If we unite, i.e., annul our personal egoistic desires and move to the group’s desire to bestow, our foundations change. We come to faith above reason—a spiritual approach when we feel, understand, make decisions, perform actions above desire to enjoy, i.e., in the spiritual world

When the world gets dull and plunges into #darkness, without promising any hope or fulfillment, this is a tremendous help from the Creator. So He rips us from our reality, from this world, giving us the opportunity to work for Him.
#kabbalah #quoteoftheday #Wisdom

The feeling that I’m doing something for the Creator gives me fuel for work, this makes me feel alive. The next moment the Creator may disconnect me, cleanse me from my desire to enjoy, and then I’ll be able to work for His pleasure. This is what I will live for.

The qualities of the light and the vessel are mixed within the creation. Due to the breakage, the creation acquires the qualities of the Creator. Nonetheless, it feels corrupt, and broken. An unpleasant sensation comes from the feeling of being opposite to the Creator. The Creator is inside the creation, where He is revealed.
#kabbalah #spirituality

Each moment a new Reshimo is revealed—a stronger desire and a greater light opposite it, so I have to bring my desire to be in balance with the light, applying even greater effort. If I don’t do that, I would lose the illumination from a prior state.
#Kabbalah

I’m not ready to receive the light instantly. My vessel is broken revealing the corrupted desire, and the light opposite it. “There is no righteous man on earth who hasn’t sinned.” After each transgression, a correction, a commandment is revealed for “it is impossible to fulfill the commandment without breaking it first.”

The Creator is an impetus that obliges us to unite. Egoism repels us from each other, promoting greater distance.
We will agree to unite when we are forced to turn to the Creator. As if our ten was locked in a tight cell and we must look for ways to reach the Creator.

I want to make a restriction for myself, it doesn’t matter if I feel empty or full—I want to cling to the Creator so that all my thoughts and desires are only about Him, and all the actions are directed toward Him. This is a true bestowal to the Creator above my knowledge, above the feelings in the mind and heart.

To move from sensation of today’s reality of this world to an upper reality (future world), from knowledge to faith above knowledge, from receiving to bestowing, is possible through exercises that awaken the light that reforms, which grants us the force of bestowal.
#Kabbalah

We must unite among ourselves in order to feel our connection as one point shared by all. In this point, we must feel desire, pain in regards to the Creator—what is called a prayer, a request to Him.
#Kabbalah

If the Creator did not disconnect us from the pleasures and fulfillment of this world, we would have no chance of reaching the spiritual degree. We would forever remain in slavery to Pharaoh who would regularly pay us and we would obediently work for this reward. This is our life in the ego.

Faith above reason is a spiritual concept, a person in bestowal instead of reception prefers giving to the Creator rather than serving his egoism. This is a calculation to benefit the Creator, not oneself. The whole science of Kabbalah is based on the principle of faith above reason, the principle of bestowal.

Working without fuel, without egoistic motivation, only for the sake of the greatness of the Creator: I go to lessons, to gatherings, live in general—I try to change the pleasures in which I had an egoistic hope for a state where I don’t want the upcoming reward, but only aim to cling to the Creator each moment.

Faith above knowledge is growing, I chose bestowal to reception. The grandeur of reception is imprinted in me. I know and feel how important it is to receive for myself—that’s what I am all about. I need to find a way to separate my “I” from myself and cling to the Creator in order to think about Him instead of myself and find pleasure in it.

“Any overcoming in the work is an advancement in the work of the Creator. Just as a coin added to a coin makes up a large sum, so does overcoming when it reaches the necessary degree becomes a vessel for receiving the highest pleasure.” We never jump onto any degree right away, but try it first.

When I think of the Creator, I feel that I am moving in the right direction. But is the goal to do right by me or is the main thing to give to the Creator? Such exercises allow me to advance, gradually separating from my “I,” and making all thoughts be about the Creator.
#Kabbalah

I must rejoice at the exercises from the Creator and thank Him for them, for I can rise from this world to the spiritual world. We need to accelerate and strengthen these actions so that each of them becomes a leap forward for us, and it all depends on our connection with the environment, with the ten.
#Kabbalah

The Creator does everything to bring me back to the desire to enjoy, to the common sense that reigns on Earth. But I want to adhere to the center of the 10, as if it’s suspended in the air as a floating castle. This is how we form the center of the 10 by building a castle in it. A Temple, the connection of Malchut and Bina.

Usually we try to overcome difficulties on our own—this is not right. The goal is to cling to the Creator. If I want to cope alone, I only increase my egoism and distance from the Creator. In any disturbance, one needs to see the means of clinging to the Creator even more, a reason to plea, a prayer.

A desire becomes suitable for work upon gaining an impression from the qualities of light. This happens during breakage. Light enters desires, breaking occurs—the boundary between the desire to receive and the desire to bestow is broken, and these desires become intermixed.
#Kabbalah

Losing taste in the work, we get angry and blame fate, the Creator, the science of Kabbalah, and the teacher. We don’t realize that it is the loss of taste for the study and for the group that is an invitation to rise to the spiritual degree where we work not for the sake of the material, egoistic reward, but for the contentment of the Creator.

Distance from egoism, when a feeling of #emptiness, weakness, hopelessness, of being lost comes—these are the states when it is possible to move from knowledge to faith above reason, to the degree of bestowal, when I decide that I will do everything for heaven for the contentment of the Creator.

The main thing is to realize that the loss of taste or good attitude comes from above, from the Creator directly to a person in order to rip him from egoism and give him certain freedom from egoistic pleasures and to let him feel independent of his personal interests.
#Kabbalah #Wisdom

Faith above knowledge is a view on everything through unity. There is no I, only us. My foundation, but the perspective comes from our connection. My viewpoint doesn’t come from my desire to enjoy, but from my desire to give to the 10.
This point is called “faith,” the point of Bina, bestowal.

The first 9 Sefirot have no light till Malchut restricts itself and raises Ohr Hozer (Reflected Light) and works with its evil. Then the light begins to shine in the first 9 Sefirot, i.e., the qualities of the Creator, in my 9 friends. When I justify my friends, pushing my ego aside, I awaken the light in them.

The point of Malchut ascended to Bina, integrated in it, observing creation from there. I integrate into the center of the 10 and see everything through the eyes of faith. The degree to which I aim to unite with my 10, to see our unity above personal interests or egoistic desire, determines the degree of my faith.

The preparatory period is long, but do not cut the path short, rather persevere step by step. You may not pause or jump the stages. We are in the Creator’s hands, and if He revealed the beginning of the path to us, we shouldn’t change anything, but keep going in the same direction

I have to annul before the 9 friends and raise them up to the level of the Creator, each moment lowering my ego before them. The Creator will work in the opposite way, showing my friends as increasingly worthless and full of flaws. This is where the work begins…
#Kabbalah

– How do we open the valve in the center of the ten, the passage into the spiritual world?
– To do this, pull out the plug with your teeth that clogs the heart of each of us in the ten.
#Kabbalah #Wisdom

Our job is to fulfill three conditions:
1. To understand that everything is controlled by an upper force, besides which there is nothing.
2. This power is always good that does good.
3. To aim toward it through the center of the group.
#Kabbalah

Thus, by following Him we keep ourselves in the center, beginning to understand Him.
#Kabbalah

Relating to the group gives me the attitude, understanding, and the true picture of working inside the spiritual Kli. All spiritual concepts: direct, reflected, and inner lights, and weakening of the screen will be revealed inside the group through its center.
#unity #Kabbalah

Not only do I relate disturbances to the Creator, but I treat each one as an opportunity to adhere to the center of the group even more. This is how I advance working with difficulties. The fact is that these are not disturbances, but help on the path for this is how the upper force is leading us toward the goal.

The Creator awakens broken desires in me, parts of the breakage. They are always revealed as disturbances: hurting me, scaring me, throwing me off balance. This is given to me as help to aim toward the goal of creation. I have to aim toward the center of the group and leave the bounds of my egoistic desire.

“The advantage of the light from within the darkness”—the Creator keeps sending us obstacles so we can see what we stumble on. Our task is to understand that all disturbances come from the Creator, not to concentrate on them but to relate them to Him and try to rise above them.
#Kabbalah

Malchut doesn’t feel anything, doesn’t react without the first 9 Sefirot before it. The 9 Sefirot are always ready, but to develop the desire, Malchut, is difficult, to enjoy to the point of getting the desire to unite with the first 9 Sefirot, to feel and to hear what is outside of it, i.e., the model of the first 9 Sefirot—the depiction of the Creator, while I have to relate them all to Him.
#Kabbalah

At first our goal was to relate everything to the Creator, and now we also have to aim ourselves to the center of the group through all disturbances. Through all the obstacles—descents, private-common-global disturbances, the Creator is correctly aiming us toward the goal, which becomes more and more clear as a result.

I try to lower myself as much as possible to see my friends united and on a higher degree than I. The ten represents a spiritual vessel of the Creator for me, and its center is the Sefira Yesod, which I attach myself to, as the manifestation of the Creator in relation to me, on a single source that everything comes from.
#Kabbalah

I’m ready to admit that everything comes from the Creator, to see all evil as good in order to be under the protection of the good ruler and to hide from all the problems. The center of the ten is already a step outside my ego. Here I need the strong support of the group that I can rely on.
#Kabbalah

The Creator gives us not 1 but 9 parameters. The relation between the desire and light is only possible through the 9 properties of light and 1 quality of the desire. Desire has only one wish—to be fulfilled. I see 9 traits before me, and have to know how to relate to each one.
#Kabbalah

Everyone in the ten sees himself as Malchut, and his friends as 9 first Sefirot. The Creator manifests Himself to me in different ways, negative or positive, stirring jealousy, anger, pride inside me—I have to orient myself in such a way that by giving to the 9 friends I give to the Creator.

If I aim for the center of the ten, I feel how it disappears through disturbances by the Creator. Thus, the Creator shows me my deviation. It’s like looking through an aim and refocusing. I have to follow the deviations to stay in focus, and that’s my dance with the Creator.

With each thought in our minds or a physical action we must pull the Creator in, invite Him to rule over us, try to feel and to reveal His power. We must plan to aim all our thoughts and actions toward revealing the Creator’s governance over everything that is happening.

The center of the ten is the gate to spirituality. Guards are there to see that you leave your will to receive behind. To do so you have to integrate in the ten by the reforming light. Then every state becomes a Parzuf—perceiving spirituality in connection with the friends.

The essence of our work right now: 1) See that there’s none else besides him in everything. 2) See that he’s good that does good—always directs us to the goal of creation. 3) Contact him through the center of the group.

I have to annul before my ten—raise them to the level of the Creator. He will always show me the opposite—the friends seem lowly. By annulling before them I turn them into a Kli—the first 9 Sefirot where the Creator is revealed. And I’m the Malchut that’s under restriction.

It’s not enough just to decide that there is none else but the Creator. It takes a special power of faith to slightly rise above oneself. We are making efforts to unite in the center of the ten, in the point where everyone annuls before the others, before unity, and the Creator.

By aspiring to the center of the 10, we turn to our corrected state, the good future, which already exists ahead. To the extent of our efforts to imagine it correctly, the aspiration to attain this connection in love and mutual help, we enter the next frame, the future picture.

I don’t annul my feelings as though they’re not there. If I make myself an absolute zero, not to think about myself at all, then I destroy the entire depth of desire. But I need to achieve the opposite, to rise above my egoism. Otherwise, if I am a zero, then the Creator is just a little more than that.

Within the connection that we feel with a friend we must imagine the Creator, the quality of love and bestowal that I want to reveal between us. We have to connect everything together: adhesion with the Creator, revealing “there’s none else besides Him,” connection with the friends, and faith above knowledge.
#Kabbalah #unity

By connecting Him to our advancement, we realize the correction properly—properly connected and aimed at bestowing to the Creator.

The correct connection between us is the connection with the Creator.

One cannot advance without rising and falling. With every step you take you also fall in order to understand what a “fall” is and, thus, be able to advance. This is the only way to move forward: a fall always follows a good state.
#wisdom #quoteoftheday #kabbalah

The uniqueness of #Kabbalah is that it is not knowledge that is passed down to a student but a connection to the source. To get it, one must be connected to his teacher and receive everything from him. For the #teacher is a link in the chain that connects him with the source of this wisdom, stretching from Adam.
#Wisdom

It is not necessary for everyone who follows the chain of Kabbalists to be below those before him. For example, Ari rose above the Kabbalists preceding him. The revelation of the upper world for each Kabbalist corresponds to the root of his soul and the efforts made by him.

#Kabbalah comes from the word “to receive,” it is a reception of light that reforms followed by an inner light that fulfills. Opening the path for the light is only possible through the mutual effort of a student and teacher. Efforts bring the light, the light builds a screen.

Passing down the knowledge of Kabbalah depends on the proper connection between the teacher and the student. The upper transfer happens “mouth to mouth,” meaning through the shared active screens between them. At the very least there must be a “mouth to ear” transfer; this is the first step of studying correctly.

In order to transmit spiritual wisdom from a teacher to a student or a group of students, it is necessary to form a special common desire—a vessel (Kli), a place for receiving the light, a spiritual message from an upper source into a vessel.
#Kabbalah

A thread of passing down the wisdom of #kabbalah stretches from the first Kabbalist, Adam to us. If the thread comes down to a person, he is obliged to bind himself tightly to it, to the source, and to the teacher and try to get the wisdom of Kabbalah from the source through the whole chain of Kabbalists.

The center of the ten is a place where the Creator is concealed from us. If we focus on it in order to uncover this center, the black hole—this is where the Creator will be revealed. Then we’ll also find ourselves in this black hole where the true reality exists.
Everything outside of it is an illusory world.
#Kabbalah

We must reconcile this, accept it, and go above it.

Inside a desire we feel ourselves living in this world among billions of people, surrounded by a group of friends lead by a teacher. All this is pictured for me by the Creator, and I must correctly “balance” the pieces of this picture in order to act correctly.
#Wisdom #Kabbalah

The black hole is relative to us, for it is the ego that sees darkness in it. It demands going above knowledge, following the opinion of the teacher, of the Creator, of the group. It feels as utter darkness to me. My mind understands that going against the ego-desire is the truth, but my heart doesn’t feel it yet …

Pick your scrutinies: what does everything exist for and why, aim for the goal with all your might, toward adhesion with the Creator. Upon receiving the force of bestowal, of love and unity, we’ll be able to gradually bring the whole world to this adhesion.
#MotivationalQuotes

Everything will be corrected with unity.

The center of the ten is a tiny needle’s eye through which I enter the spiritual world. For this I must restrict all my thoughts, all desires, compressing them into one point, so they will lead me into the upper world through the center of the ten.
#kabbalah #Wisdom #unity

In the spiritual world, the ten is my passport, my shield. It’s the baby’s beloved pacifier. Without the ten, I don’t exist. By including myself in the ten, through it, like by an umbilical chord, I connect to the common soul of Adam HaRishon and the Creator revealed inside it.

My ten is my personal Kli, that I cannot come out of, that I am connected to, and must invest myself in. It’s like a pacifier for a baby—by grabbing onto it, he immediately calms down and regains his balance. Tune in to your particular ten, and then into the whole world Kli.

This is the way by which the Creator leads me to the final correction.
…. and say that thinking about Him is the reward.

We cannot give anything to the Creator except our unity! The Creator is perfect and has no needs. The only thing we can offer Him is a vessel, a Kli for His revelation so that He can be pleased with fulfilling our desire, the first 9 Sefirot, 9 friends.

We must bring passion and drive to our Tango dance with the Creator. Every time He disappears I must check myself: what it is that I strive for, and try to improve the quality of my yearning for Him, for the importance to be not in my fulfillment but in whom I strive for.

The Creator is dancing a tango with us, coming closer and stepping back. Once He brought me the light and disappeared, I have to come closer to the prior state. This resembles an inhalation and exhalation.
The Creator is teaching me: through the actions in the group I am giving Him a place to reveal Himself, inviting Him, demanding His revelation.

The main thing is to break away from myself. I want to strive for Him and give Him pleasure. This is contributing to the ten. Therefore, the ten takes on a new meaning, Shechinah, a place for the revelation of the Creator where I can bestow to Him.
Everything is directed toward the state of bestowal, “Lishma.
#Kabbalah

I want to connect my states to the Creator: striving toward Him is an ascent, lack of aspiration is a descent, despite the general well-being. If I strive toward the Creator, who is it for: to please me or Him? We weigh in an extra factor: for myself or the Creator …
Myself or a friend?

Kabbalah And Beliefs, Part 12

laitman_444How Do Kabbalists Relate to the World?

Question: There is an attitude to the world and to others. What is the difference between the way a Kabbalist relates to the world and the way ordinary people do?

Answer: The Kabbalist treats the world as the work of the Creator. The world is an example of how I relate to the Creator. A good attitude toward people, toward the world, means a good attitude toward the Creator. In principle, nothing exists for a Kabbalist except himself and the Creator.

Question: Baal HaSulam writes in his article The Solution“The religious form of all the nations should first obligate its members to bestowal upon each other to the extent that the life of one’s friend will come before one’s own life, of “Love thy friend as thyself.” One will not take pleasure in society more than a backward friend.

This will be the collective religion of all the nations that will come within the framework of communism. However, besides that, each nation may follow its own religion and tradition; one must not interfere in the other.”

So do all Kabbalists relate to this that way or only Baal HaSulam?

Answer: Kabbalists act according to the law “there is no coercion in spirituality.” Each from his point in the heart, from his character, from his egoism, will gradually reach equivalence of form with the Creator and will enter that place in the general system of private souls where he will complement them and will interact with them in complete harmony.

Question: That is, a person can engage in Kabbalah, explore his selfish nature, work with the upper force as a law of nature, and at the same time, be in some specific traditions, religious frameworks, and one will not interfere with the other?

Answer: Of course. A person can have any religious framework. Religion in this case is simply considered as culture.

Question: Does this refer to the root of the human soul?

Answer: Yes, to any manifestations of a person. One can worship anyone and do anything, it does not matter. The main thing is that a person accepts the basic tenets of Kabbalah. If one fulfills them, then one will gradually reveal the true world.

I met with Joshua Goldstein, Chairman of the US Division of Herut North America, to discuss the origins of anti-Semitism and the essence of being Jewish.

Over the centuries, this principle faded and was replaced by the physical performance of the traditions. From this point, Jews lost the true sense of their identity, and now, the only way for them to become “as one man with one heart” again …
…. is to make conscious efforts leading to that unity. If they do, they will build a perfect society, and the entire world will benefit from it.

The name “Jews” come from the word for “united” (“Yehudi”). It means that the main feature of a perfectly functioning Jewish society is unity. This is not communism, where everyone is supposed to be equal. Rather, it is a mosaic, which is more beautiful the more different pieces
… it includes. It sounds beautiful, but what we see now is that it is impossible for Jews to unite other than before some kind of serious threat.
Why?
The problem lies in the roots of the Jewish identity. Jews originated in ancient Babylon. They appeared as a group of representatives of the 70 nations of ancient Babylon who agreed to follow Abraham’s teaching.
Regardless of their differences, they united around the principle “love will cover all transgressions,” meaning that building good and loving relations between people covers the destructive and disintegrating power of the human ego.

A mother cares for a baby because she gets satisfaction from it by her nature. But this isn’t bestowal that the wisdom of Kabbalah talks about. With spiritual bestowal, I don’t receive any benefit or material satisfaction—everything is aimed at the one to whom I wish to bestow.

Real bestowal isn’t like bestowal in our world, which can happen even against my desire, out of fear or another calculation. This is not bestowal. Bestowal is when I have no personal benefit or satisfaction from it.
