The Most Shattered Part of the Universe

738The Creator created one desire, which underwent development and then broke into small parts. Starting with the shattering of the common desire into separate particles, egoism arose between them, a mutual rejection from each other, and they began to feel themselves placed in our world.

All the inanimate, vegetative, animate, and human desires that we began to feel, we began to see outside of ourselves in the form of the surrounding world. Our desires for each other consist of four levels we call still, vegetative, animate, and human, or 0, 1, 2, 3, 4.

Our job is to get off the egoistic degree because by staying on it we do not even feel where we are.

Egoism initially closes us inside ourselves—each and every one. While in it we feel nothing but our world. That is the lowest, most insignificant, and most broken part of the Universe. Therefore, we do not know who we are, what we are, what we are for—absolutely nothing! Perhaps we feel overwhelmed. And then, even this truth we do not feel.

But we are given the power that develops us. Gradually, more and more upper light descends on us, the quality of bestowal, which allows us to feel the need to unite with each other.

In Direct and Reflected Light

548.03Question: We studied the concepts of Sefirot in the four phases of direct light descending from above downward. What are Keter, Hochma, and Bina in the reflected light? How are they different when ascending from below upward?

Answer: The difference is that Malchut, which was created by the nine Sefirot and desires only to receive, in the reflected light wants only to bestow liker Keter of the direct light. Therefore, Malchut of the reflected light is called Keter of the reflected light because it acts in the same way as Keter of the direct light.

All the Sefirot of the reflected light are similar to the Sefirot of the direct light. The only difference is in their origin. The direct light comes from the Creator, while the reflected light comes from the creation.

Day Seven of Creation

565.02Question: On the seventh day of creation the Creator rests. In principle, work is prohibited on this day. What does this mean?

Answer: A person should understand that the world was not created for the purpose of working and producing something. There is simply a certain period when he must create (that is why it is called creation), and then the Creator acts Himself.

That is, for six days a person performs certain work on himself, and on the seventh day he is filled. This is already the work of the Creator.

The Sixth Day of Creation

715Question: On the sixth day of creation, man was created. It is interesting what the Creator said: “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” What does this mean?

Answer: After all inanimate and living creations, man is created in the image and likeness of the Creator. This means that man is created in such a way that he can literally grow from scratch to become like the Creator Himself.

Question: We usually say that the Creator has no image at all. What is meant by being in the image and likeness of Him? Let’s say it is about similarity in qualities; this somehow could be understood.

Answer: Of course, when a person forms a likeness of the Creator within himself, he takes upon the influence of the upper Sefirot, the forces of the Creator, and thus builds out of himself all the emanations, all the actions, of the Creator so that ultimately he acquires the quality of similarity.

In principle, it is not about the creation of man, but about the fact that on the sixth stage of spiritual correction, a person discovers within himself the strength to take all inanimate, vegetative, and animate desires, direct them toward the Creator, and thus become like Him.

The Fifth Day of Creation

720Question: On the fifth day of creation, God created animals and birds, i.e., animate desires. What is the difference between vegetative desires and animate desires?

Answer: There is a huge difference! Imagine what would happen if only vegetative desires existed in our world.

How does the Creator approach the creation of man? Through the creation of vegetative and then animate desires. And then man appears.

Question: It is said: be fruitful and multiply. What does it mean that a person discovers this commandment within himself?

Answer: He must think about how to put the commandments of the Creator into action and take care that his Kelim (desires) constantly grow because the greater his desires, the greater the connection with the Creator.

Become Like the Creator

537All spiritual states that a person must go through are inherent within him in potential.

In principle, the Torah and Kabbalah first describe the process of creating creation from top to bottom. But when a person begins to spiritually ascend on their own, from bottom to top, they enter into these same states through which they descended, only now they are revealing the forces that already exist within them.

After being filled with the upper light, one restricts oneself because a person feels shame. Then the process of concealing the Creator begins, followed by the subsequent attainment, where a person reveals the Creator to the extent of one’s similarity to Him.

Question: What is the difference between the similarity to the Creator when a person ascends from bottom to top, and the one that was on the sixth day of creation?

Answer: The difference is significant. In one case, it is done by the Creator, and in the other case, creation is given the opportunity to create a likeness to the Creator from within itself.

On the sixth day, this happened under the influence of the forces inherent in potential. But when we ascend from bottom to top, we take these forces and realize them ourselves and create a human out of ourselves, Adam – from the word “Domeh” (similar).

This means that everyone must write the Torah in their own heart, in their own desire.

The Fourth Day of Creation

276.02On the fourth day of creation, the Almighty creates two great luminaries: the sun and the moon. In the science of Kabbalah, they are called Zeir Anpin and Malchut.

We are talking about the connection of man with the Creator. The moon is a small connection with the Creator and the sun is a big connection with Him. That is, life comes from the sun, and where its light does not reach, there is no life.

In other words, a small connection is the correction of lighter desires for connection with the Creator. And the big connection is the correction of the most egoistic desires.

The Essence of Restriction

253Question: Why does restriction occur after a person’s desires are all similar to the Creator’s and one is filled with the upper light?

Answer: Because the desire that receives the upper light feels as if it is complete, but it does not see the result of its actions.

The only thing left for him that arises in his desire is to somehow interrupt his development and make a restriction on his desire so that it no longer develops.

And now, from this desire, at the initiative of a person (Adam), another action arises, which is not a continuation of development, but in a sense is the opposite. In other words, a person wants to transform the desire in which he was created into a desire in which he will resemble the Creator. This is important for him.

Therefore, it turns out that on the seventh day creation does not stop. After all, then there is action on the part of the person.

Second and Third Days of Creation

746.02On the second day of creation, a space was created in the middle of the water, separating the upper and lower waters, and this space is called the firmament.

The upper and lower waters differ between the forces that rush toward the Creator and those that rush in the opposite direction.

Question: On the third day, the Creator created dry land, and greenery began to grow. Can this be correlated with a person’s vegetative level of desire?

Answer: Yes, sure. Creatures display new data and opportunities to see more deeply and clearly what the Creator has done. But in principle, all this development begins on the first day.

Question: Do you mean spiritual desires and not the egoistic desires of our world?

Answer: No, there is a parallel between this and this; when two opposing forces manifest themselves in matter within the framework of time, space, and movement, it turns out to be a cause-and-effect relationship.

The Torah describes the creation of all kinds of forces or the principles on which these forces are based.

Manifestation of Equivalence to the Creator

737.01Question: What does a person reveal in oneself on the third day of creation when greenery begins to bloom and trees grow? What kind of desires are these in relation to the Creator?

Answer: The third day is a good day of creation when a certain similarity to the Creator begins to manifest in nature, which was created by the Creator.

On the third day, the middle line appears between the left, egoistic line and the right, altruistic one.

It can be said that the third day is already an opportunity for a person to work with two lines, to be somewhat similar to the Creator in the quality of Tifferet.

In a person who progresses from bottom to top, all this is inherent in potential. He can come to spiritual attainment in ten years or maybe in ten reincarnations. But when he achieves this and can correctly combine both lines within himself, it is called “the third day of creation.”
