New Life 704 – Spiritual Sexuality

New Life 704 – Spiritual Sexuality
Dr. Michael Laitman in conversation with Oren Levi and Tal Mandelbaum ben Moshe

Question: Why does sex play such a central role in our life?

Answer: It is because life is created by the connection between opposites, and the desire for sex is actually a desire for life. Our sexual desires grow during our evolution as human beings. In nature we also see that the male wants to have offspring and the female wants to belong only to him. It is rooted in us. Our attitude to sex is actually the basis for everything in our life even when we are not aware of it. Freud also spoke about it.

The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches us that it stems from the upper root in which we are intended to be in coupling, in a perfect connection, in a perfect mutual connection between people, in a connection in which every individual acts both as a male and female, as the one who gives and the one who receives.

At the peak of our evolution we will reach a state in which we are connected as one, since we all stem from one soul. The greatest insight we need to acquire is that no one can fill himself and that each individual has both a male and female part in order to connect, which means the readiness to give and to receive.

The wisdom of Kabbalah deals with spiritual sexuality and tells us that it is the basis of nature. Our whole perception of life stems from the spiritual root and includes accounts of giving and receiving, and when I connect correctly to more and more people, a corrected system of interconnection is built between us. As created beings, we all exist as a female facing the male who wants to fill us, the Creator, the upper force, the good and the benevolent. This is the ultimate joy and all our desires and passions stem from it.

Question: Why is the human sexual desire not limited to certain times in the year like in the animal world?

Answer: The more developed a species is the more unlimited it is. This is also from where the human sexual distortions stem. The wisdom of Kabbalah tells us how to reach a spiritual coupling, the ultimate connection between us regardless of sex.

The more an individual fills another in a perfect mutual manner, the more we ascend to a spiritual level of existence.

Women want to look beautiful and to attract men by nature, while men pay less attention to their looks. The sexual desire that is rooted in us since the thought of creation is to “to do good unto His created beings.” We are yet to discover the spiritual coupling!

Can Kabbalah Be Harmful?

laitman_600_04Question: What does the wisdom of Kabbalah give a person that religions don’t?

Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah gives a secular person a unique thing: the way to attain the upper world, the comprehension of the system that manages this world, the revelation of the Creator.

The wisdom of Kabbalah doesn’t deal with religious rites and customs. The religious Mitzvot and rites we are familiar with are laws and customs of our world. But Kabbalah deals with the laws of the upper world.

If we begin to learn these laws and try to be similar to them, then we will begin to feel and understand the upper world. The goal of the wisdom of Kabbalah is to teach a person how to attain the upper world.

Question: What is practical Kabbalah? I understand that we are speaking about a very strong connection between a Kabbalist and the Creator. Is the ritual of “The Pulsa deNura” – “lashes of fire,” thought of as practical Kabbalah?

Answer: It is simply theater, and actually there are no spells, no way to harm anyone. to do it.

There is another possibility – the evil eye. But all this is absolutely not in Kabbalah. Go to any grandmother who has such powers, and she will bring the evil eye on you. These people have a special feeling, a special wish, they can send to another person, and some internal waves affect it. So people can get sick or even die. But this is not the action of the Kabbalistic Pulsa deNura. No one knows what it is and no one knows how to do it!

A Kabbalist cannot harm anyone because the foundation of the wisdom of Kabbalah is only good.

Salafism And The Wisdom Of Kabbalah

laitman_626Opinion (welt.de): “Salafism [Jihadist-Salafism] is the greatest threat of our time, not deficiencies in our social or educational systems, but the missionaries of a bloodthirsty religion. If we let them, they will destroy our civilization.

“Failed integration – with this concept is explained the metamorphosis of disorientated youngsters to Islamic assassins. However, the much more fitting description is: successful disintegration. The lack of prospects of adolescents, the dreariness of dropouts or the feeling of the not belonging are not what make young people from Central Europe hunt dozens and hundreds of victims… .

“In truth, a number of Islamist killers in Europe were well integrated into society. One of the suicide bombers from Brussels studied electrical engineering. Then he turned to bomb making, wounded thousands of victims and destroyed life. …

“The terrorist pilots of September 11, 2001 in America were privileged men from rich Arab countries, lived with friends, drank alcohol at parties in Hamburg; before many thought these mass murderers had a boring social life.

“The man who cut the throat of the Dutch film director Theo van Gogh on an open street had been previously active as a municipal politician, and could not speak Arabic.”

My Comment: In modern society there is nothing that can replace the radical movement, filling life in this world, giving a prospect of eternal life, except for the dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah to wider circles of society. Kabbalah makes it possible to discover a bigger life here and now.

It requires individuals to make internal efforts, but with proper organization; the quality of effort is replaced by the quantity of participants. After all, we are talking about the masses and their work on the revelation of the upper world and the Creator.

It’s not time to disseminate the wisdom of Kabbalah widely and clearly, especially among radical Islamic circles, but soon this movement will fade and then it will be possible, even among them, to reveal the program of development of the world.

It could be that the dissemination of the idea of unity and love among all people will happen in Muslim society not as the dissemination of the ideas of the wisdom of Kabbalah but as the revival of Sufism (the Islamic version of Kabbalah).

“Secrets Of The Health Of The Social Organism”

Dr. Michael LaitmanIn the News (world.crisis.ru): “The chairman of the All-Russian Professional Psychotherapeutic League Viktor Makarov noted that among presenting problems, as well as traditional addictions, in leading position of patients demands for help right now are: anxiety, panic attacks, insecurity, and fears about the future. And the same fears about the future, more and more are coming to the fore in Europe. Until recently, for residents of developed countries if they had insurance, fear of the future was unknown. Now, financial security cannot protect against problems associated with the destruction of healthy human values. …

He [Alexander Yuriev – Doctor of Psychology, professor of Russian politics, head of the Laboratory for Scientific policy advice of the St. Petersburg State University] noted that the post-global changes lead to significant changes in consciousness and behavior of modern man. A socially and politically injured person believes that the main condition for survival and success is the ability to show no qualities that could provoke aggression in friends or rivals. A traumatized person tries to hide his emotions: no surprise, no indignation, no joy, no sorrow, no superfluous words. He believes that only complete impermeability gives him peace of mind, security and success. Behind this is the experience of its sharp polarization of society into enemies and friends… . But this tactic of conduct is useless in times of post-globalization: man is ‘defined’ by sites he searches on the Internet, by his circle of friends, by his party, with whom he is connected, and his routes of its transportation around the city, the country, the world – he lives in a ‘glass house.’…

A.I.Yurev said that fear is displaced by only one – the meaning of life, and the main meaning of life – it’s love. He stressed the direct relationship between of all these factors, the force of vitality, the meaning of life, a person’s goals and values. …

“Numerous problems of the planet suggest that we need a fundamentally different platform, a different outlook on life and approach to psychology. …

“Just as all physical illnesses appear as metabolic disorders, as well, all social problems, mental illnesses are a consequence of a violation of a healthy relationship between human beings. It is the restoration of the right relationships and values that the work of psychotherapists should be aimed. For this, you need a precise definition of spirituality.

Spirituality is a state of the inner unity of man with the surrounding world, a sense of (or at least an understanding) of the interconnectedness of all created beings as the children and parts of the Most High, the one whole. Spirituality gives the state and feeling of happiness (I – part of the Almighty living in harmony with Him). When this harmony is broken, there is an infinite number of different kinds of problems and diseases. Mental health is the foundation of the physical, psychological, and social health. …

The social body is sick when the healthy relationships between human beings are destroyed, when the mental health of the people is broken. This can be compared with the liver, kidneys, stomach ceasing to cooperate with each other. Conversely, society is healthy and strong when there is high spirituality – when one takes care of the interests of others as their own interests. …

“Every year, more and more scientists are coming to the conclusion that the world that surrounds us is based on the holographic principle. …

“The holographic principle of the universe means that every part of the universe at any given time contains complete information about all that exists. Scientists have found that every cell in the body at any given time has complete information about the entire body – so that from any single cell the full body could grow. …

“And this connection exists between everything that exists. All humans and animals.

We are all part of a living unity, even though the physical eye mistakenly consider themselves separated from each other.

The research results of many modern scholars suggest that we are all part and parcel of a single energy-system, which is the right thing to call God.

The essence of all religions, all spiritual exercises is to transform egotism (selfishness) in love. Egocentrism (selfishness, self-interest) – is to take care of their welfare. Love – a concern for the welfare of others. …

We are part of a living unity, we are always connected with each other as part of one organism with the name of God, even though the physical eyes perceive ourselves as separate. When you cause suffering to others, you indirectly cause suffering to yourself – as a part of the body, which causes damage to another part, hurts itself.

“People can easily maintain human relationships with each other as long as they at least theoretically know that they are eternal, that they are the soul, not the body. Even if they do not devote themselves seriously to God, if it committed to only some – for example, older family members. But they have knowledge of his purpose and God. …

Socialism is good only if there is God. We need to get return to this now… .

The spirit of consumerism is a disease of the soul, a disease of society. The health of the soul is in finding happiness in serving others. … A consumer society is a society of unhappy people. …

“The body breaks down when the metabolism in the body breaks down. Metabolism in the social organism – is the relationships between people.

“A cell of the body communicates with the body not directly but through the cells that surround us. And we serve God, not directly, but through His particles that surround us.”

My Comment: The thinking man independently comes to the same results Kabbalah has been speaking about for thousands of years. But he will not be able to reveal the method of correction of humanity, only his corruption and what the desirable correction is. Because the correction occurs through the Upper Light, which is controlled only by those studying Kabbalah. And someone that does yet study Kabbalah cannot even understand the working principle of the Surrounding Light. The correction must be done first by the one who studies the method.

A Study About Atheists And Believers

Laitman_511_01Comment: Ohio State University conducted research on atheists and believers. According to the results of the study, a person who doesn’t believe in God is likely callous and manipulative. And a person who is a believer has more characteristics associated with compassion, understanding, and sympathy for others.

Atheists are also dominated by psychopathic traits associated with lack of emotional response to pain of other people’s suffering, etc.

Answer: There are many different nuances that express the differences between believers and non-believers in our world. But all of them operate egoistically.

They simply have different models of behavior. These perceive the world according to their value system and those according to their value system. In both cases, this system is egoistic, so in relation to the wisdom of Kabbalah, they are, in fact, equivalent. The only thing is that the believer is more difficult to convince that he is living according to egoistic laws because he believes that he is living correctly.

Faith in the wisdom of Kabbalah is a completely different property than the “faith” of religious people. With them, faith is the acceptance of the existence of a higher power, and if I follow the rules that seem to be detailed in the Torah, I will earn the world to come. In contrast, a person who is a non-believer (secular) believes only in the payoff that he will get directly in this world. This is the entire difference.

In The Book of Zohar, there is a description of three types of awe (fear). The first type of awe is typical of an ordinary secular person (non-believer) who is concerned about everything being okay for him in this world. The second type of awe is that of a religious person (believer) who is concerned about his life in this world and in the next world after death.

The third type of fear is typical of the Kabbalist who only yearns to be like the Creator, meaning that he will have a characteristic of bestowal and love for others without receiving anything in exchange since being like the Creator is his reward.

Everyone thinks that the wisdom of Kabbalah is a part of religion, but it has nothing to do with religion. The wisdom of Kabbalah brings a person to fulfill the law of the Torah, “And you shall love your friend as yourself” (Leviticus 19:18), which all the others not only don’t touch upon, but don’t even talk about.

Although they give lip service to “Love thy neighbor,” nobody thinks that this is the main general rule toward which all implementation, resolution, and realization of the Torah is directed.

The Three Parameters Of Faith

laitman_568_01Question: Faith and not knowledge is at the basis of every religion. All religions have certain restrictions and prohibitions regarding the attainment of the laws of the universe. Why is that so?

Answer: It is because the religions don’t engage in attaining the upper force. They cannot do that and they exist in the dark. If a person could attain the true reality, there would be no religions, only the wisdom of Kabbalah would remain.

This is the reason that the religions are interested in blind faith, and thus they suppress any questions that people may have about the meaning of life. A religious person’s perception of the world is fanatic and he advances without any specific goals.

Comment: But the term “faith” actually stems from religion.

Answer: It is religious faith when a person accepts all the basic assumptions without asking any questions, without feeling or perceiving them.

Comment: But still it is the human level and it is very hard to skip it and to reach faith above reason.

Answer: It isn’t a level, but merely mistaken conceptions and a step backward.

There are three parameters of faith: faith below reason, faith within reason, and faith above reason.

When I believe in what I see, it is faith within reason; when I don’t need proof and simply accept what I am told and act accordingly like a child, it is faith below reason and that is religion. I believe what I am told without checking anything.

When I ascend above my ego and begin to perceive what is going on, it is faith above reason, which is what the wisdom of Kabbalah engages in. This is from where the contradiction between faith below reason (meaning the different religions) and faith above reason (meaning the wisdom of Kabbalah) stems.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, we have to yearn for attainment and not for faith. You must attain according to Kabbalah, to touch, to smell. Just like a kid who puts everything in his mouth because that is the most certain way, we also have to taste everything.

This is the reason that the attainment of the upper world is called flavors, which actually stems from the instinct to feel everything in our mouth, since it is the surest most certain feeling closest to us.

After all, I cannot put something sweet in my mouth and feel that it is bitter just because you claim that it is bitter. It is the same here; there is no room for faith.

Dreams That Reveal The Future

laitman_232_02Question: Can the future really be revealed through dreams?

Answer: Sometimes dreams give correct and true information about the future. After all, the future is programmed clearly and completely accurately. There are people like Wolf Messing who sense the future, but Kabbalists don’t particularly deal with this.

Nevertheless, reorganization happens in a dream, rearrangement, renewed referencing of all impressions, so future states can also be revealed because a person is not found in his ego but in a particular detachment from his ego. To that degree he can sense the future.

Believing In God

laitman_571_01Question: Scientists at the University of Pennsylvania studied the belief in God. They concluded that the belief in God grows stronger when a person thinks about meaningful events in his life where he chose a certain route and which could have end badly but ended well. A person relates this outcome to the upper force.

Scientists believe that belief in God does not necessarily need to rely on blind faith, but rather it is based on rational thinking. They claim that it is actually this fact that allows them to explain the stability of religious belief and that it provides clear evidence of religious principles

Answer: Humanity is very stable, and the longer that people live on this planet, the more they believe in unreal forces that have not been proven. A person wants God to exist. It is in his subconscious.

We can ask small children of religious people about the belief in God, and they will say that they believe in a certain force and that we should pray to it and ask it whatever we want. Their attitude toward the upper force is the same as their attitude toward their parents from whom they can ask anything and everything will be alright. It is a natural, instinctive response to uncertainty.

Question: People look for logic, even when they say that something did not happen by chance.

Answer: Of course, they can make up whatever they like, but when a person encounters the wisdom of Kabbalah, he receives an explanation for how he can feel the Creator and discover Him, and then he begins to understand that everything else is absolute psychology.

Question: Does this means that we cannot reach the Creator using the rational tools we have in this world?

Answer: The tools we have in our world are related to our senses. We cannot reveal the Creator through our senses, with our mind, or in our heart in any way.

The Creator is totally concealed from us, and therefore all of the assumptions result from the same illusions in the same way as all religions are based on guesses and assumptions.

They have nothing to do with the wisdom of Kabbalah and therefore are faiths that have no basis. In the wisdom of Kabbalah, on the other hand, there is a simple principle, as it is written, “A judge has only what his eyes see.” We only need to clean the glasses that we see through and view the world realistically without any double vision. Then you will be able to be your own judge because you know that you are looking at things correctly, judging them and making the right decisions. If you say, “this is what I think” or “what psychologists say,” and so on, you are still in the framework of our world. In our world, you can believe only what research discovers, which means what is based on clear evidence, not relying on philosophers and psychologists.

However, a person cannot enter the concealed part of human nature by himself since he has no feelings that match it. First, a person must establish these abilities inside himself, these sensors, and then he will begin to feel the Creator. You can attain that only through the wisdom of Kabbalah.

If a person wants that, he must study in an organized framework. Study, and you will discover the Creator and will not need to believe anything and, most importantly, anyone!

The Wisdom Of Kabbalah Does Not Deal With Miracles

laitman_624_03_0Question: There are some people who claim that they have attained Godliness and the revelations of miracles through different religions. Are there miracles or people with special abilities in the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: A Kabbalist does not engage in miracles. Everything a Kabbalist attains is internal and so he cannot show off his attainment before anyone and will never do it.

There is no point in forcing him to show some trick. It will not work. There are no miracles in our world. If we don’t know and don’t recognize the laws of nature, certain phenomena may seem to us as miracles.

If you lit a match in front of a Neanderthal man who lived 600,000 – 350,000 years ago, he could wonder how you did that and think that the fire came out of your finger, and would even bow before you and think that you are a creature from another world. So it all depends only on the relative level between two people.

Religion In The Mirror Of Kabbalah

Laitman_109Research (from wired.co.uk): “Co-operation is a key component in human interaction and also, according to new research from the University of British Columbia, the spread of civilisation. Not because [of] any altruistic reason, though; instead it might be directly down to a fear of a vengeful god.

“In a study published by Nature, a team from the university found that it wasn’t a belief in divine reward that promoted co-operation, but a fear of punishment.

“’Co-operation among throngs of strangers in expanding societies required a common faith in moralistic gods,’ said Benjamin Purzycki, who conducted the research.

“Worshippers believed that these gods were able to read thoughts, observe good and bad behaviour and punish and reward them accordingly, the study suggests. Shared beliefs about these gods apparently paved the way for trade networks, economies and institutions such as governments and courts.”

My Comment: Religions are a kind of club or lifestyle. Humanity needs frameworks like these for its development until its finds its inadequacy to solve social problems—the mutual hatred and rejection. After all, the religions are fundamentally egoistic, as is the human society in which they came to exist and continued to develop, until present day.

The masses, in any case, need to find the wisdom of Kabbalah, and will be compelled to sell it. However, as Baal HaSulam writes, everyone can remain in his religion. This is because the Kabbalah only reveals the characteristic of bestowal and love toward others. Religion fills a person’s “niche of the unknown.”
