Why exactly do Kabbalists have such an impact on progress?

Answer: It is not they who influence progress, but the general plan of nature leads to further development.

Humanity develops gradually. First, there is an accumulating process and then an ascent, again an accumulating process and an ascent, according to the four phases of the development of desire. The four phases are divided into four more, and four more, and so on. Or, you can say, five, including the root.

It turns out that the leap of egoism, which develops and then rises qualitatively, causes the appearance of Kabbalists, scientists, and all kinds of revolutions in our world: cultural, social, and others.

Kabbalists are souls who have risen to a new level of egoism, can begin to correct it, and thus attain the universe and enunciate it to others.

All of this is based on egoistic growth. Kabbalists do not decide anything here. They themselves are a consequence of the growth of egoism.

It comes from the principle, “love will cover all crimes.”

Similar to Eastern martial arts, we need to use our opponent’s strength. Therefore, when your spouse bursts into complaints or throws accusations at you, kiss them. By so doing, you disarm them. However, unlike martial artists who wish to defeat each other, you have to act from the bottom of your heart.

You find love by building it atop the hatred and impatience you feel in such situations.

Question: A Kabbalist perceives much more than an ordinary person in his five material senses. Do you see or feel what others consider miracles?

Answer: In our world, I do not see more than everyone else sees. I see sources and connections between things. And, let’s say, I do not see the future more than others.

The future depends on our correction. I cannot do some tricks and predict the day after tomorrow this and that will happen. No! It depends upon people who change every second. If they change a little, then tomorrow will look different. It does not depend on me.

Baal HaSulam wrote about what he thought he would see during his lifetime. But to this day it has not materialized. It is the same with Rabash. I heard from him such things that never happened, although he believed that they were being realized from day to day.

Question: Why is there some kind of attractive force in a Kabbalist?

Answer: Because he feels and knows more, wider, and deeper, but not about tomorrow.

He knows according to what laws tomorrow should be realized, but not in what form: good or bad. The whole picture that you see depends on this: either it will be, God forbid, war, riots, earthquakes, fires, or the end of the world, as they say, or it will be insight, revelation, understanding of what is happening, and unification. The Kabbalist does not know this.

Question: Why was it you who remained the successor of Rabash’s work?

Answer: First, he prepared me for this. During all of the 12 years I was with him, I received sensory and factual information from him. I was preparing for this, writing down everything he said, I was writing and summarizing all his lessons.

I received a great amount of material from him. Of course, he invested a lot in me. We are still in contact with him.

And the fact that every day I say something new, know how to navigate in a completely new environment, in a new world compared to all the others, and that I can more and more reveal the method of spiritual correction: individual, private, and the general world, does this come from me? Who am I? I open my mouth, and from the inside, I feel that it all comes from him.

The Kabbalistic hierarchy, the chain remains. Naturally, I remain the same little disciple of his! Over the years, I realize more and more how small I am relative to him.

Michael Laitman, On Quora: “Why does war exist? Is it something deeply implanted in human nature?“

War exists because the universe is made up of two opposing forces: reception and bestowal. When these forces do not enter into a balance, then they short circuit and try to destroy each other. That mutual effort of each side to eliminate the other is war.

The root cause of war is in the clash of these opposite forces of nature: reception and bestowal. That clash of spiritual forces gives rise to wars that unfold in our material world.

Therefore, stopping war at its source requires developing a regulating sense that has the ability to bestow above our innate force of reception, which are our self-serving desires that aim solely at absorbing into ourselves. In the language of Kabbalah, that bestowing sense is called a “screen” (Heb. “Masach”). Through this new regulating sense, we can acquire a state of positive and balanced human connection.

That is the key to a war-free, harmonious and peaceful existence.

Question: How much effort did you have to make to feel what your teacher was saying?

Answer: A lot.

Question: You did not always agree with him, did you?

Answer: Of course not.

Answer: I did not fight against him, although sometimes I had a desire to give him an ultimatum: “No, not like this!” and so on. This is the natural reaction of our egoism.

But the fact is that I always understood that there was no other way, and I tried to work on it. There is no other way! I constantly researched the methodology, and it appeared to me to be very logical and perfect.

I kept trying to find a gap in it where there were still some inconsistencies and contradictions in it. You know, like in some physical theory. In the end, on the contrary, I was revealing only its perfection.

Therefore, I tried very hard to understand everything to the end. But to understand, it is necessary to engage in the implementation of the methodology. This is number one.

Number two is dissemination. After all, realization does not consist only in receiving from the upper, which is the teacher. He is the upper, he stands before you, in front of you, and only through him will you receive spiritual sensations. By this, you are bound to him forever. Such is the hierarchy of souls. And most importantly, you are searching: “Who will receive from me? To whom can I transfer all this?”

When you work with the source and become a transmitter for others, then you begin to properly contact both the upper and the lower. This gradually makes you a more and more corrected element of the spiritual world, the spiritual system.

I tried to work tirelessly in these two directions: to receive from the teacher and to prepare to pass on to others. I think that it was these two movements, me toward him and me toward the others, that brought me to this.

Michael Laitman, On Quora: “What does it mean to be truly good?“

We are good when we identify with the interconnected and interdependent system of nature, and that we behave kindly toward the system on its every level: the still, vegetative, animate, and especially toward our fellow human beings.

By doing so, we increasingly resemble nature’s force of love, bestowal and connection, and come to experience a harmonious and peaceful existence that is in balance with nature.

Imagine if our bodies would suddenly start operating such that its systems would each do whatever they want, without considering their service to the whole body.

We would die in an instant.

Likewise, we need to see ourselves as parts of an integral system, and to review our behavior with the knowledge of our interdependence in this system. We would then see our current participation in this system as egoistic, where we each seek to benefit ourselves at its expense, and that our tightening interdependence coupled with our bloating egoism causes the increase of sorrows in our lives.

Such a scrutiny should bring us to the conclusion that we need to acquire a new approach—one that aims in the direction of benefiting others and nature—in order to become good. We would then behave supportively, caringly and beneficially toward humanity and nature, and enjoy a new experience of total harmony and peace in our lives.
