No Mystical Powers!

250Comment: You once told me that when you watched the movie Indiana Jones, you realized the harm it brings to the world, but at the same time you said that it was a part of correction. You had a twofold attitude on this issue.

My Response: What can you do? People have to go through all phases of religious, mystical, and many other beliefs. Of course, they think that if they find some piece of wood, or a stone, or a 2,000-year-old piece of parchment, then they will receive some mystical powers from it. That is nonsense! There are no miracles in the world. Simply none!

A miracle is our ability to reach a level where we feel the more subtle forces of nature. But we must mature to their level. Just like today, if you show a Neanderthal what surrounds you, he will think that you are higher than his god. Because his god can only do this and that, and you suddenly appear on my screen and I am talking to you. This is simply connecting the worlds!

Everything is much simpler, more specific, and follows the exact laws of nature. I hope that after this round, when humanity enters into all sorts of religious excesses again, it will come out of it very quickly.

If not, then there will be religious wars. This would be the war of Gog and Magog, which can still happen in our world at the physical level. Let’s hope that it will be purely virtual.

Is It Possible to Influence the Intensity of our Feelings?

537Question: You said that a person does not feel most changes. Can a person somehow influence this process?

Answer: In no way can a person influence what one does not feel! He has no approach to this. Therefore, we are completely powerless here.

Question: In principle, a person does not feel any science. But he goes to  university, they give him an approach, he begins to try it, and gradually his feelings are built up in the same way as understanding.

Can there be some approach here to correctly feel the changes, the next states, and the next goal? Or are we just running the way we always do and that is it?

Answer: We are rushing through the ether at a tremendous speed, and all of it is moving no one knows where. How, why, and what will happen in the next moment we do not know. Therefore, all our movements are based only on the assumption that the future will be approximately the same as the past, with a small margin of error. That is how we live.

Imperative Link in the Chain

962.5Without Rabash’s articles, we would not know how to properly attune ourselves to the goal and to connect with Baal HaSulam who gives us academic advice from a great spiritual height.

We are not able to extract the details for our connection from there in order to take even one step in practically implementing it. Rabash starts right from the beginning and explains every step to us. After that we can better understand and implement Baal HaSulam’s methodology.

When we come to the direct realization of Kabbalah, the practice of revealing the Creator, the articles of Rabash and The Book of Zohar become essential for us.

Rabash’s articles help us form the right intention and The Book of Zohar helps us attract the light that reveals the spiritual world to this intention. Rabash did something that no Kabbalist had done before him; he described all the stages of a person’s inner work, the practical implementation of the Torah.

He was the only one in the entire chain of Kabbalists starting from Adam HaRishon who gave a concrete step-by-step explanation of the work of a person and a group, which is so necessary today.

Before him, Kabbalists wrote about their individual attainments because this was the spiritual progress in the era of 2,000 years of concealment and exile from the spiritual.

Before going into exile, people were in spiritual attainment and there was no need to talk about something that each child mastered as he grew.

But today, in order to rise from concealment, we need materials that would orient us to enter the spiritual world and it is possible only by studying Rabash’s articles.

Without Rabash’s articles, we would not have been able to correctly understand other Kabbalistic sources.

Therefore, our work is divided into two parts.

1. Study of Rabash’s articles.

2. If we attune ourselves correctly, then we turn to The Book of Zohar or The Study of the Ten Sefirot and can already work with them correctly as we attract the correcting light.

Rabash was very discreet and modest and always kept in the shadow of his great father. All his strength and might were hidden deep inside, so it was impossible to see anything from the outside.

He was the first to teach Kabbalah to non-religious people without any distinction in origin and he considered it very important to disseminate Kabbalah widely.

Revelation of the Creator Is the Common Religion for All

282.01Question: Kabbalah says that it does not matter what religion you belong to. But we know that there is none else besides Him. If I study Kabbalah and I know that there is none else besides Him, how can I be in a different religion?

Answer: I think the problem is that you consider Kabbalah to be a religion. Kabbalah, however, is not a religion but a wisdom. It is wisdom about the structure of the world, about forces that affect people, and about what man can do with them.

We tell all of humanity about this and promote one single principle—connection between people. In this connection between all, the revelation of the single upper force of nature, called the Creator, is possible. That is all.

It has nothing to do with Christianity, Islam, or Judaism.

How Does the Language of Kabbalah Affect a Person?

137Question: Baal HaSulam wrote the article “Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah” in which he explains each phase in great detail on dozens of pages. This is the basis of all Kabbalah.

The language of Kabbalah was revealed from nature itself. For the first time it was attained by the great Kabbalist the Ari. Is it because no one before him had operated with such terms as “restriction, surrounding, departing,” and “equivalence of form”?

Answer: Yes, the Ari revealed all these phases, qualities, and emanations, and he described it for the first time, which gave the basis for the wisdom of Kabbalah.

In principle, they were also known to Rashbi, the author of The Book of Zohar. But Rashbi could not describe it the way the Ari did. It is not that he knew less. He just lived at a time when all this could not be unfolded. He could not receive the apparatus of explanation yet. These Kabbalists were separated by almost 1,500 years.

Comment: As far as I understand, the most special thing is that when people read these definitions, which they do not quite understand, this already affects them.

My Response: Yes. It is very important. Even if a person does not do anything but just listens, some changes already take place in him because we are talking about things concerning our roots.

Zohar Is a Cure for all Illnesses

138In The Zohar, just like in the Torah, there is no requirement to read necessarily in order; you can open the book anywhere you want!

It is like Psalms; you open somewhere, on any verse, and you read it. You can even start from the middle.

The main thing when reading holy books (written by those who attained the Creator from the quality of holiness, bestowal, the quality of Bina) is not what to read or what to read about, the main intention is what do you want to achieve by reading?

It is because you anyway read about the upper world, which you do not feel and do not understand.

The Zohar is the highest source of all the holy books. This is the most powerful source of upper light, the light of correction. It is like an infusion to a patient, it is the medicine that you take.

So, what do you want to achieve by taking this medicine? What does it mean for you to be healthy? The power of The Book of Zohar can become for you both a life-giving elixir of life and a deadly poison, one of the two!

Therefore, before opening the Book, you should think, feel, adjust yourself, prepare, and look for what are you going to get out of it now?

You are going to receive a medicine whose symbol is a snake. Its poison may really be poison or it may be a cure for all diseases.

So before opening The Book of Zohar, we must stock up on right intention and not to take a deadly poison but a life-saving elixir of life.

If people study the Torah without the right intention, then it becomes dry and lifeless. This is especially dangerous if we are before such a huge source of power as The Book of Zohar.

And it is not by chance that it was hidden from ordinary people for so long, but was revealed to Kabbalists.

A Kabbalist (that is, a person who has achieved the right desire) somehow always found this book from someone, through someone; in some way it was sent to him from above and brought him to where he could find it.

But it was not revealed to other people because we were previously unable to arm ourselves with the right intention. Therefore, The Zohar could only bring us harm.

And today, we open The Book of Zohar with the intention that it will bring us good, that it will become a source of life, and, God forbid, not turn into a deadly poison.

After all, there is such a powerful force in The Zohar that you need to be careful to open it only together, only with the right attitude.

And that is why it has revealed itself in our time; it gives us wonderful opportunities. And we want to offer it to all the people.

But everyone should know that only the right intention during the study of The Zohar turns it into the elixir of life.

Phases of Development of the Will to Receive

548.02Comment: In The Study of the Ten Sefirot Baal HaSulam explains how creation, our desire, was created according to the four phases of direct light. We study it as the anatomy of the creation of desire.

The first phase is called the first expansion or Hochma. The second phase is the first intensification or Bina. The third phase is the second expansion or Zeir Anpin. The fourth phase is the second intensification or Malchut.

Malchut is the creation itself. Baal HaSulam points out that expansion is male and intensification is female.

My Response: The four phases of direct light is a very serious topic. The Creator created the will to receive. The light, that is, the Creator, influences it, and under the influence of the light, an emanation occurs, the development of the will to receive in four phases. Two phases are the influence of the light (the Creator) on the desire, and two phases are the reaction of the desire to the light of the Creator.

As a result, it turns out that under the influence of the bestowing and loving Creator who wants to fill creation, the creation expands its desires, reveals Him, is filled with His influence on itself, and then, in accordance with this filling, feels changes in itself.

Therefore, there is a phase of being filled with the Creator and a change in desire, again filling with the Creator, and again changing the desire. That is, two phases of filling, two phases of reaction.

Sun, Moon, and Earth

746.01Question: What are the Moon and the Sun in relation to our perception? From the point of view of Kabbalah, what is the Earth in relation to these two objects?

Answer: The Earth is the receiving part. It receives the light of the Sun; it rotates around its axis and each time exposes its other side to the Sun. The Earth is between the Sun and the Moon and therefore obscures the Moon from the Sun. This determines the phase of the Moon.

Since everything is arranged in such a way that the Moon revolves around the Earth with a certain periodicity, we have a lunar calendar. The Earth, as it rotates around its axis, creates an earthly, circadian calendar, and as it rotates together with the Moon around the Sun, it creates an annual calendar.

In addition, the rotation of the entire solar system creates special periods that are marked in the Jewish calendar (29 years and so on).

From the point of view of Kabbalah, the Sun represents Zeir Anpin, the Earth represents Malchut, and the Moon shows the degree of connection between them. The measure in which the Earth has a screen can be seen in the phases of the Moon. The extent to which the Earth can protect the Moon from sunlight shows us the size of the screen.

We see this in the phases of the Moon in reverse because I do not see myself except for my reflection. The waxing moon means that my screen starts to grow and it grows until the full moon and then begins to decrease. Therefore, of the four stages of development, two are growing and two are decreasing and then there is a new period. This is exactly what happens in the development of the spiritual instrument, the Kli (vessel).

Two Types of Light

632.3The light of Hochma is regarded as the emanated being’s self and vitality. The light of Hassadim is only regarded as light for corrections, for the completion of the emanated being (Baal Hasulam, Study of the Ten Sefirot, Vol. 1, Part 1, Chapter 1).

Question: How does a person experience these two lights?

Answer: Initially, a person does not feel the light of Hochma in any way. In our world, when one wants to enjoy something, a person feels only a micro dose of this light. One feels the light of Hassadim only to the extent that one has a will to bestow, to bring pleasure to others. Practically, both lights are initially concealed from us and we must develop ourselves in such a way that we begin to feel them.

Usually one becomes familiar with them through the help of the method of correcting a person, the method of Kabbalah. To the extent that we study in a group, want to come closer to our friends, want to bestow to them like the Creator, and practice the quality of bestowal as much as possible, we start to feel the light of the Creator’s bestowal entering into us.

Will We Leave Our Footprints on the Dusty Paths of Distant Planets?

547.05There have only been about a half dozen genuinely important events in the four-billion-year saga of life on Earth: single-celled life, multi-celled life, the differentiation into plants and animals, the movement of animals from water to land, and the advent of mammals and consciousness.

The next big step should be the idea of interplanetary life—an unprecedented journey that will dramatically change and enrich us (Elon Musk).

My Response: I absolutely disagree with this. What will it give us?! Why should the previous stages of development lead us to this last one? Will we fly from star to star? Moreover, we are in such an energetic and physical condition that these flights will cost us hundreds of years! Why do we need to fly? From one meadow to another?

Question: He considers interplanetary development to be the next big step. What do you think is the next big step?

Answer: The next big step will be to reveal the meaning of life. Why did it ever appear out of nothing, and why did the steps he spoke about then begin to develop from it?

Question: Does the person then come to the question “What am I living for?”

Answer: Yes. The further we develop, the more we want to know about our root, about our source. This is what interests us. This is the search for the meaning of life, because everything is encompassed in our root.

Today when we do something, we develop the forces and the data that are in our source.
