Cover Egoism with Love

939.01Question: There are friends for whom you even feel love and before whom you are ready to annul yourself and to care for them. But there are also friends for whom you feel unfounded hatred that you do not understand. Where can you find the strength to cover this hatred with love?

Answer: Only by asking the Creator to show you that everything you feel toward anyone is aroused in you by Him, personally by Him.

And then you will see that the person has absolutely nothing to do with it. The Creator simply awakens such feelings in you toward this person in order to educate you.

Question: Sometimes during meetings in the ten we achieve some kind of unity, and in such moments, I feel love for a friend I used to hate. But then it passes. How can I hold on to this moment?

Answer: You do not need to hold on to anything! Just thank the Creator for replacing your hatred with love for that person, and ask Him to give you the same love for everyone in the ten, and then for everyone in the world. It does not matter who—ask for an equal attitude toward all.

Combine All Requests into One

282.01Question: How can one receive the Creator’s blessing and reach perfection in the relationships between a man and a woman who are engaged in Kabbalah?

Answer: I think that it does not necessarily have to be between a man and a woman. Between women, between men, it does not matter who and with whom. This is how we need to understand relationships in Kabbalah.

In principle, this is the same work; you just divide it into several parts. Try to combine all your requests into one, and then everything will work out perfectly.

Study the Movements of the Creator

275Question: You said that in every movement coming from the Creator, we need to study whatever comes from Him. What does it mean that we see the Creator’s movements and study them?

Answer: We see how the Creator guides us. Maybe now we do not see it very consciously, but this is how it will be revealed to us. We must imagine that this work is not in us, but in the Creator who creates certain conditions around us and within us so that we move correctly toward the goal.

Question: We work with His manifestations. That is, does movement from His side cause some kind of reaction in us?

Answer: Absolutely, the Creator constantly makes changes and thus our qualities change, and what we see in front of us. This is how we move forward.

Question: When He influences me and reactions arise in me, which of them should I look at and what should I do with them?

Answer: They should all be directed in only one direction so that we unite with each other and unite with the Creator, and so that this global connection between us and the Creator would elevate us to the goal of creation.

Joy Should Be Mutual

939.01Question: There is division in our ten. Some of the ten are only for joy and some are in different states. So the ten set a condition that everyone should gather together only in joy, and if you are in a descent, you should turn off the camera. Is this correct?

Answer: When a person goes to a meeting in the ten, he must be in an elevated mood. This is a mandatory condition; otherwise, the Creator will not accept his prayer.

Question: The more I study, the feeling of joy in me calms down more and more. It is as if it is hiding inside.

What should joy be like? Is it a feeling that you hide inside or should everyone see that you are happy to serve the Creator?

Answer: Joy should be common and all-encompassing in that you and your friends express your common desire to reach the Creator in order to bring Him your desire and fill Him.

The Virus of Bestowal

942Question: The world exists on mutual bestowal. How can this concept be developed within the ten?

Answer: Mutual bestowal within the ten means that each of you cultivates love for your friends and is focused solely on this.

Question: What if a friend is not actively participating in the circle of bestowal within the group? Can the others bring her into the circle, and how?

Answer: They can, but it is very difficult. It requires literally infecting her with the necessity of bestowal.

Get Used to the Connection with the Creator

293.1Question: You always look optimistic. Is it possible to learn optimism from you?

Answer: Since there is a Creator above me who guides me, then, of course, I am constantly in joy and constant connection with Him.

If you believe the Creator controls everything and there is no one besides Him, then you must be connected to Him all the time and feel eternity and perfection. Get used to this and thank the Creator.

Question: Should we come to the ten with a smile, kindness, and warmth, regardless of whether you are an optimist or a pessimist?

Answer: In any case you must do what the Creator requires of you. Then you will see where you may get an opportunity to thank Him.

Questions about Spiritual Work—205

591Question: We often hear a friend say: “I cannot give any more.” How should we work with this “I cannot”?

Answer: Offer your help. By helping them, you help yourself. So there is no need for either of you to think that you are taking away part of their work or pushing them forward. All of this comes purely from the attribute of bestowal.

Question: In the Psalms of David, the phrase “Seek My face” is often repeated. Does seeking the face of the Creator mean seeking joy?

Answer: Seeking the face of the Creator means seeking His revelation. It is more than joy.

Question: When we are in a state of descent, we most often feel bitterness. How can one find joy in such a state?

Answer: Think about the proper state: the Creator lifts you up, you connect with Him, you feel how He embraces you and holds you like an infant, and you cling to Him and find joy in that.

Question: All sources say that in the multitude of people the greatness of the Creator increases. How can each ten include the global group in its prayer to increase the joy of the Creator?

Answer: In your intentions and nothing more.

Question: We speak of the need to feel joy and love for the Creator. What should we do to bridge the gap between hearing about it and actually experiencing it?

Answer: You need to lift your mood automatically, both for yourself and for others, through yourself. Try it and you will see what it brings.

Blessing in Everything

938.04Question: What does it mean to receive blessings from all sides?

Answer: From women, from men, from those who are distant and those who are close, from friends, and the Creator, a person must strive to restore and maintain his connection with all these sources. Gradually he will begin to sense that he can receive fulfillment through these connections.

Question: What does it mean to receive a blessing in the ten?

Answer: It means that within the ten, there is a feeling of the Creator addressing them. In this case, they can connect and direct the connection emerging between them toward the Creator. In this way, they establish contact with Him.

Question: How can perfection in the ten be achieved?

Answer: By each person desiring to receive with the intention to bestow to the other.

Dance of the Soul

938.02Question: What is the inner dance of the ten that gives unceasing joy?

Answer: If we are constantly looking for an ascent, then we will naturally begin to descend and rise from it. Such ascents and descents are called a dance that we must remain in; that is, we need to constantly seek how to rise to spirituality and beware of being lowered.

Our egoism will always work to lower us, and we must be grateful to it for the opportunity for another ascent. This is the correct work with our egoism.

Question: Is this ascent of the soul, the dance of the soul, and love for the Creator a support within knowledge?

Answer: No, all this is above knowledge. Within reason we do not see, feel, or sense any taste.

Question: How can you make the ascents and the descents happen at a fast pace so that the joy never stops?

Answer: You must be responsible for the state of spirit in your ten, and then you will achieve a lot.

The Cumulative Process Over the Years

528.04Question: When we study the Torah in the ten, we read it first as a text. What happens to us when we suddenly begin to see, as Baal HaSulam writes, the upper worlds: Yetzira, Beria, and Atzilut?

Answer: These are levels of attainment, levels of connection, and levels of mutual influence between you and the Creator. At some point, you or the ten begin to feel these levels and everything that happens in a different key, like a child who has grown up and now feels the world and others differently.

Question: How does this happen with a Kabbalist? Does he come to the lesson, read the text as it is, and can rise to the sensation of the upper worlds? Or is it some kind of cumulative process over the years?

Answer: For a Kabbalist, this is a cumulative process. In addition, he is at a certain level to begin with.
