We are all in a single field, like permanently connected particles. But this original connection of ours is like an electronic circuit that exists and that is it. How it will work and what program it will carry out is up to us.

When you buy a computer, you do not re-solder circuits or change any boards; they already exist. But how to load the computer, what program it will run, and what data it will calculate is up to you.

That is what we do. We do not even install a program in this system. It works on its own. It leads all parts of creation that are connected into a single organism called “Adam,” a single system, to feel this general connection.

There are two states in the application of this program, in which we must feel ourselves in a single connection.

We either walk and with every step, the system pushes us forward, i.e., it evokes in us some negative impulses that we involuntarily have to overcome because we feel pain as if we are receiving an electric shock as we yell “Ouch!” and run somewhere in the direction opposite to the shock. In this way, we create some kind of connection, but it is an unwanted awakening between us.

Or we realize that we are in a relationship with this system that is manifested now in all humanity, at all levels of our connection. We see our disagreement with the integral connection; this is called crisis.

In the end, we must agree with the way we are connected, all together, into one single system, completely interconnected in friendship and love, in which all our desires, thoughts, and properties will be directed only by the original work of the system so that we do not harm it with our egoism, but correct the ego to become a good interaction.

Question: In the article “The Last Generation” Baal HaSulam asks us to imagine that today we found a certain historical book describing the last generation that will live 10,000 years from now, and that this book explains all the wisdom of statesmanship as well as all the paths of the individual and society realized at the end of days.

What does this mean? Are we talking about a Kabbalistic or some other book?

Answer: Precisely about Kabbalistic books. Of course, you can look through other books, but it is a foolish idea.

Question: In which Kabbalistic book can one learn about statesmanship?

Answer: In principle, very little is written about that. But Baal HaSulam wrote such books.

Question: As far as I understand, “The Last Generation” is the only article in which he described what all the structures of the state should be like when some people are already in a corrected state, how the courts, social services, etc. will work. Why did he not publish these articles? Did he not have time? Did he not want to?

Answer: I think he thought it was too early to publish them. Only 50 to 60 years after they had been written did they reach us and we began to publish them. They came to me through his eldest son Baruch Ashlag, my teacher. He gave me the originals, which are now kept in the archive.

Question: But did you and your teacher talk about these articles, did you study them?

Answer: We did not study them, but we talked about the subject.

Question: How can the feeling of the Creator’s joy be conveyed to the group?

Answer: Open your heart and pass it on. Try to connect with the Creator and your friends in the ten and feel how your heart opens and everything in your heart pours out to your friends and through them to the Creator.

Question: What does it mean to open yourself to the Creator? What is this action?

Answer: Ask the Creator to help you open your mind and heart and feel in them closeness to Him, i.e., to be connected to Him through feelings and thoughts.

Question: If my friend is ill and I want to get connected in him so that the Creator can cure him, should I interfere in this or let it remain as it is?

Answer: You should get closer to your friend in your soul, connect with him, and help him in your feelings—not physically, but internally. You will see how quickly he recovers.

Question: Should we help each other regardless of what the Creator gives to everyone, or would we be interfering with the Creator’s program?

Answer: Yes, by doing this we would be interfering with the Creator’s program.

Question: How can we ensure that the cause of pleasure is always only the Creator and not pleasure itself, i.e., that the pleasure would come from the fact that the Creator has it and not vice versa?

Answer: The fact is that we, who consist of the desire to receive, are constantly connected with the Creator and are always directed toward Him.

Our problem is that we do not feel or realize this. Therefore, Baal HaSulam says that all our work is to direct our mind and heart to the Creator.

After all, when we direct our thoughts to Him, our work is called work in the mind. And when we direct our hearts to Him to give Him everything, this is the work in the heart. Thus, we adhere to Him with both our mind and our heart, two fundamentally different properties that we have for connecting with the Creator.

In order for both the mind and the heart to always work only for the Creator, it is necessary for our feelings, thoughts, and desires to be in Him.

Question: When reading the primary sources, it seems that the Creator sets very strict conditions for us, and egoism shrinks. How can we love the Creator in a way that we gladly agree to fulfill these conditions?

Answer: The Creator’s conditions seem strict to us because they are too heavy to fulfill individually. But if we implement them with mutual assistance, they are perceived as doable.

There is no greater pleasure, happiness, and sensation of an open world than nurturing such feelings toward the Creator.

Open these books and you will find all the good orders that will appear and the end of days, and you will find within them the good lesson by which to arrange mundane matters today as well, for we can learn from the past and by this correct the future (Baal HaSulam, “The Last Generation”).

Question: You have always said that Kabbalah is not concerned with our world at all. It lifts a person into the upper world and describes spiritual states.

It turns out that Baal HaSulam was the first of the Kabbalists to write about the arrangement of our world?

Answer: Yes, before Baal HaSulam, almost none of the Kabbalists wrote on this topic. For the first time in history, he began to describe our world, the upper world, and the transition between worlds.

Question: Baal HaSulam writes that he is not one of the most outstanding representatives of the human race, and if he has opened these books and took some information from them, then in principle, any chosen ones of the generation, with a little effort, will be able to find in these books everything that is required to build a society.

Why does he write so modestly about himself?

Answer: The fact is that those who study Kabbalah see his achievements anyway. And what should he write to those who do not understand anything about it?

Question: And when he talks about the chosen ones of the generation, who is he talking about?

Answer: About the first persons of the generation, the sages. People who do not study Kabbalah will not be able to take information from these books and build a society of the future. After all, how would they know what to do?

This knowledge is not transferred from the boss to the performer. Those who will directly work with the world and organize it as humanity of the last generation should master the wisdom of Kabbalah and its techniques.

Question: Baal HaSulam emphasized that he takes the principles of building a future society so close to his heart that he can no longer restrain himself and he decided to reveal this wisdom.

He wrote these lines at the end of his life. Doesn’t everything written before that prove that he revealed Kabbalah to people? After all, he is the author of a huge number of books.

Answer: He meant that he had not yet revealed this kind of information to the world.
