Change the Intention

237Question: When the Creator gives us something good, we enjoy it. How do I abandon this desire to receive for myself?

Answer: In order for this desire not to work in you on its own, you need to invest a lot of effort. Therefore, you should feel how much the desire “for your own sake” belittles you and puts you in the farthest state from the Creator.

Therefore, the intention “for oneself” must be changed to the intention “for the sake of the Creator.”

Questions about Spiritual Work—153

281.02Question: Our ten has entered a period when we no longer want to play with toys, we do not want to receive false pleasures. Where should we start to turn all the pleasures into the right ones?

Answer: Start by checking yourself: How do you treat your time, which is given to you by the Creator at every moment, what do you do with it? That is where you start.

Question: Can we say the responsibilities we take on in the ten for the sake of unification are a great help from egoism?

Answer: No, this is a great help from the Creator who made it so we could unite in the ten and thus move forward with the help of friends.

Question: Are we able to enjoy loving each other? Or is this not a goal, but an intermediary stage in attaining the Creator?

Answer: We will be able to love each other only if we see the manifestation of the Creator in the friend. This is the only way we achieve love.

Question: Should we satisfy the material, egoistic desires of the friends in the ten, or only those related to spiritual goals?

Answer: In general, if I relate to my friends in the property of bestowal and want to give to them, then any of their desires are my opportunity to give.

Question: When you receive fulfillment from the Creator and feel that He is giving it to you, how do you return this pleasure to Him?

Answer: There is no need to return anything. When you do something, always think that you want to please the Creator with it. Do what is good in His eyes.

Give the Creator an Opportunity to Bestow

604.04The Creator has purposely created the evil inclination in us, where we think only of ourselves and are unable to think about others.

In every egoistic desire, there is a possibility of suffering. I keep suffering without understanding why or how. And then, for some people, the so-called point in the heart awakens, meaning contact with the property of bestowal, with the Creator. Through this point, they begin to realize that the problem is thinking only of themselves and they begin to look for a way out of it.

The Creator places them in a group, indicating that with its help, they will gradually change. And so, they begin to ask the Creator to change their nature so that they can feel others or the Creator instead of themselves, which is the same thing.

Such a request, which they repeatedly try to raise to the Creator, helps them begin to feel changes in themselves.

Initially, of course, we think only about ourselves, but after correction, we think only of others and, through others, of the Creator.

Why through others? Because there is nothing to think about the Creator, it is the property of bestowal. To think about Him is to give Him the opportunity to give. How can this be done? If I take the whole world and bring it to Him so He would fill it, I will benefit the whole world and the Creator. I need nothing for myself except to perform this action.

Increase Pleasure

527.03We can increase and decrease pleasure, but in principle, it depends on our Kelim (vessels). If I think for a long time about my desires, try to connect them, and direct them toward a specific goal, toward a specific fulfillment, then by developing them in this way, I will feel greater fulfillment than what comes to me.

Question: Can each moment between the past and the future, which is life, be more clear, more pronounced, and tangible?

Answer: It can if we combine the present, past, and future, and relate them all to the Creator by understanding that all of it comes from Him. This fulfillment is limitless in time, in the intensity of sensation, as well as in the strength of our connection.

In Mutual Fusion

276.02Question: What does it mean to be filled with spiritual pleasure?

Answer: To be filled with spiritual pleasure means giving everything I can; from this, I am filled. Even the smallest filling from bestowal is considered perfect.

I receive pleasure from giving it away, transfer it through myself to the Creator, and fill Him, and the Creator fills me.

And it turns out that He and I are in the same state: I receive from Him and give to Him, and He receives from me and fills me. Thus, we are in mutual fusion with Him.

Question: What defines true spiritual perfection?

Answer: True spiritual excellence is determined by the quantity and quality of your desire to fill others. You must become a transmission link connecting each comrade with the Creator.

Take a Step Forward

276.03Question: What should we do when we lack a feeling of the Creator? Should we suffer or calm ourselves?

Answer: The main thing is to keep moving forward, always try to advance yourself and the group.

To take a step forward, you need to understand the source of the divergence between you and the Creator more deeply. This way, you can quickly recognize your state and correct it.

The Influence of the Surrounding Light

231.03Question: What is the surrounding light that influences our feelings of the future?

Answer: It is Ohr Makif (surrounding light), which surrounds us and shines from that future where we have already completed some part of our spiritual work.

Question: How can we increase it?

Answer: It depends on our vessels (Kelim). They depend on the respect for the future pleasure. If I, being the source of this pleasure that shines to me from the future into the present increase it, then my feeling of fulfillment will increase.

Question: Can we attract future pleasures through our spiritual work?

Answer: If we clearly imagine these states, we can attract them to us in advance and feel something similar now based on our past experience and our confidence that this future will definitely clothe within us.

Toward Complete Connection with the Creator

538Question: On one hand we all want to unite and follow you. On the other hand we understand that there are many great friends who have already done so much before us. How can we accept these internal contradictions where the bitter taste of vanity is felt alongside gratitude to the Creator for this path?

Answer: You need to understand that all contradictions come from the Creator, and they are all given to you mixed together intentionally so that you can sort each one out, separate it from the others, and direct it toward a better direction—toward complete connection with the Creator. Try to do this. Strive with all your heart to adhere to the Creator.

Question: As our desires grow, not only does receiving increase, but also the inner anger. How can we work with it so as not to express it outwardly? Even if we have learned to restrain it, what should we do at the moment we feel it?

Answer: Work with your intentions. Make them more and more similar to the Creator. This is our task.
