Preparation for the Lesson

209Question: When I read our sources before bed, sometimes I find myself deeply immersed in a single sentence. On the other hand, I push myself to finish reading the entire article. Which is preferable: the quality of immersion or the effort to read as much as possible?

Answer: It depends on a person’s state. Sometimes just one paragraph can explain more to you than reading the entire article. Therefore it is impossible to say exactly how much you need to read.

However, as a rule it is better to read the article that we are going to study the next day. In this way, you gradually get used to absorbing large volumes of material.

We would typically receive an article from Rabash that he had written the day before, and we would read it together at a gathering. The next morning, he would explain the article, expand on it, and answer questions. We should do the same; there is no need to rush forward.
