Does Good And Evil Exist?

204Question: Is there good and evil regardless of our perception?

Answer: There is no good and evil at all. These sensations manifest only in relation to a person until one corrects them toward the right direction, toward the correct perception of the Creator.

Our world is absolutely subjective. What is good for you may be bad for me. That is why we are always in disagreement with each other.

Question: How can you come to common agreement?

Answer: By rising above yourself! And there, we have a single measurement system—the ten. There, everyone has one perception. It is on different levels, but it is the same.

Question: That is, when you and I rise above our egoism, then we both will say that this is good?

Answer: Yes, we will say the same thing, but it will manifest in us to different degrees, depending on our level.

The System of Souls

209Once upon a time, people desiring to attain spirituality had to subject their bodies to restrictions and suffering in order to break their egoistic desire and acquire a new, bestowing nature. This was the way in the times of the patriarchs and the sages of the Mishnah.

But then came the era of the Talmud, and its sages, the Kabbalists of that time, through their spiritual work, changed the condition of transforming our nature from receiving to bestowing.

Each period contributed its corrected part to the common system of souls. As a result, the system became partially corrected, and all the others within it, the still uncorrected souls, can receive help from the corrected part. We no longer need to torment and limit our body, nor are we capable of it with our enormous egoism.

But the sages of the Talmud made our path easier, and that portion of egoistic desire, which otherwise would have to be broken through tormenting the body with a harsh life, we can now correct through the reforming light.

The patriarchs and the sages of the Mishnah corrected themselves with two actions: the suffering of the body and drawing the light of the Torah. But the sages of the Talmud corrected the system so that instead of bodily suffering, we can correct it with the same light of the Torah.

For our time this is very important, for who today could renounce all the achievements of modern civilization? The Kabbalists of the Talmud corrected themselves, their inclusion in the common system, and its corrected part became great.

Though I may be born uncorrected and wicked, I find myself within a system that includes many corrected parts which sustain it, and if I wish to be corrected, I have somewhere to turn for help and with whom to join!

Now it is only up to me!

To Make Our Hearts Like the Creator’s

938.02Question: Besides uniting at congresses, raising a common prayer, working in tens and dissemination, attending lessons, and reading the sources, what else can we as a community and as individuals do to bring Israel to correction and become an example for the whole world?

Answer: We must ask the Creator for unity, to show us the unified point of connection among us so that we always have such a center of connection, and that only this would be important to us.

Question: How can we now make our hearts similar to the Creator’s so that He may dwell in our shared heart?

Answer: We need to imagine the connection between our hearts, and from this collective heart, raise a prayer.

In principle, it is not so far from us. Let’s try to do it together and discover where else we can draw closer to one another.

The Purpose of the Prayer

236.01Question: When a person faces utterly ugly situations that cause great pain, he can understand that this pain gives him the conditions to work with the heart for the right kind of prayer. But when he keeps striking through this pain in prayer, he realizes he has no strength left. How can he remove himself from this pain and use it as a condition for the proper prayer for everyone?

Answer: A person must realize where this feeling of pain comes from—from the Creator. Why? Because despite his thoughts, the person is actually close to the Creator.

Therefore, we must strive toward the point of connection with the Creator. And when we reach it, we must leave ourselves behind and envision ourselves fused with the Creator.

That is the purpose of our prayer.

Unite in a Common Desire

942Question: We try so hard to unite our desires that we often get confused. Should we somehow soften our hearts so that they can unite or should we make our common aspiration so strong that it breaks through the boundary between us?

Answer: At one time I used to write down the demands that arose in me while reading the articles without yet knowing how it would be possible to unite all these desires, directions, and intentions together with the friends and become included in them, until I felt that it is precisely our common desire that can unite us with one another and with the Creator.

You now have all the opportunities for this. Nothing else is needed except to imagine that you are connected with one another and with the Creator.

What Precedes the Emergence of the Worlds?

548.02Question: Can we say that the ten Igulim (circles) and the ten Kavim (lines) precede the appearance of the five Partzufim of the world of Adam Kadmon?

Answer: Yes, of course. They serve as their preliminary foundation, so to speak. One emerges from the other.

Question: Does this mean that they continue to exist in parallel, since nothing disappears in spirituality?

Answer: No, they continue to exist, but now as upper and lower levels.

Bring the Ten to the Creator

255Question: What should one focus their efforts on in spiritual work: feeling the individual desires of the friends in the ten or on sensing the collective aspiration without being distracted by particulars?

Answer: It is more effective to concentrate your efforts on collective aspiration. First I recommend finding this shared yearning, connecting to it, accepting it as your own, and using it to move forward.

Each person must feel that the entire ten depends on them. You must take the ten into your hands and carry it toward the Creator. That is exactly what we need to feel.

The ten should live within the heart of each one of us so that we constantly sense it, never let it go, and in this way, carry it to the Creator.

The Purpose of an Empty Space

282.02Question: It is said that Behina Dalet does not receive any light. Is this the empty space that separates the Kelim?

Answer: Behina Dalet is an empty space because a screen in front of it does not let light through.

The purpose of this empty space is to make the Kli begin to receive the light in line with the rules of restriction, a straight line (Kav).
