A Good Example of Everyday Life

237Question: Yesterday we were invited as guests to take part in a meal with our friends’ children. It is impossible to put into words what happened there! I was amazed! Outwardly, they are ordinary teenagers, but it was clear that they are true Priests, special souls. It was obvious that they have the power to lead millions, even billions to the Creator.

The Creator gave me a gift to see this. I could not fall asleep for a long time. It was as if I had been turned upside down! And now, what am I supposed to do with this?

Answer: You were given a good example of what can be made out of our everyday life: family, children, study, work. That is all. Draw your conclusions.

Just Keep Going!

506.6Question: You gave us this pattern for spiritual work: at the first stage, annul ourselves in order to dissolve in our friends and at the second stage, try to elevate everyone.

Today, as we explore envy and all its aspects, is this some new structure, a new stage? Are we leaving behind yesterday’s structure, or are we continuing the same as yesterday just at a higher quality?

Answer: We are constantly trying to expand the qualities we used yesterday in order to build a better form of the world.

Question: So we continue to annul ourselves, dissolve in our friends, and strive to ascend? And all of this is now also imbued with envy toward them?

Answer: Yes.

235Question: You said that the Creator awakens a person according to their capabilities and readiness. Can a person increase these capabilities and readiness? If so, how is this done and by what means?

Answer: This is done by the Creator.

Question: When we speak about the system in Achishena (hastening), does it apply to an individual, a ten, our group, or the entire world? How do we approach this system that we want to reveal within ourselves and thank the Creator for it? Where does it become revealed?

Answer: This system is revealed within each person, in their desire to receive and between the forces of the soul and the forces of the heart. And there, one must see to what extent he or she exists within their own forces.

Correction through Education

533.02In ancient times, there were special cities where criminals were sent. They could escape to these cities and live there for, say, seven years. After those seven years, they were free to move around, and no one had the right to make any claims against them.

That is, on one hand a person is guilty of committing some crime. On the other hand we understand that this is the collective guilt of everyone. What happened to him was meant to happen from above as part of the global system, and we gave him the opportunity to correct himself. We were responsible for him!

A person is corrected through education. Criminals did not just sit idly in these refuge cities; they engaged in study and learning. They were specifically trained for correction through various discussions, lessons, and exercises. In the end, society took care of this because it bore responsibility for the fact that such individuals emerged within it.

Question: Why exactly seven years?

Answer: Because the seventh stage marks the completion of the period of Zeir Anpin and Malchut. Zeir Anpin consists of VAK (six Sefirot), and Malchut is the seventh. When everything from Zeir Anpin flows into Malchut, the cycle is complete.

Additionally, there are transformations that occur only once every 50 years (7×7=49) leading to what is called the Jubilee Year. The system functions this way by itself. Many elements are tied to this structure—how it develops, pushes us forward, and so on. By propelling us forward over seven years, it effectively renews itself.

Find Contact with the Group

530A person is like a seed: until it feels contact with the soil, it remains lifeless. Baal HaSulam gives this example in his writings. As soon as you plant a seed in the soil and it finds contact with it—that is, with the environment, with the group—everything begins. It starts to grow.

Internal forces awaken within it, forces that the seed itself was previously unaware of. It never even considered that it could grow and become a parent. After all, it is merely a consequence of a previous stage: someone created it, someone bore it, someone cultivated it.

Let’s say a grain of wheat falls from a stalk of wheat into the ground and begins to sprout—meaning it starts an entirely new path, a new cycle of life. When does this cycle begin? When contact occurs with the surrounding environment, the one suitable for your development, for the Reshimo within you.

Contact with the environment activates your Reshimo, which in turn triggers secondary influences on you: air, warmth, sunlight, and so on.

But to establish contact with the environment, you must, for instance, enter the soil in order to realize that you are within it. You cannot insert yourself into it, something places you there, but you must find contact with it, meaning connection with the group. And then everything will move forward.

How Does Connecting With the Whole Strength of Our Desire Align With Subjugating that Desire?

Subjugation does not mean that we suppress our intellect, abilities, or uniqueness in various fields.
Subjugation arises from understanding the higher goal, which obligates every one of us.

Then, when working on building our lives around this common goal, we each bring our knowledge, strengths, and resources to benefit the unity. Everyone contributes what they have, and naturally, the more they contribute, the better. How could something common be established if everyone comes empty-handed, lacking intellect and strength?
