Atmosphere of Friendship

528.01Question: What is the relevant form of demand toward a friend who, for example, does not attend the lesson?

Answer: I think there’s no need to single yourself out before the friends. It is necessary to cultivate such an attitude within the group that the one who violates feels they are excluding himself from the group.

Question: How can such an atmosphere be created?

Answer: This should simply be recorded in the group’s annals and accepted by everyone.

281.02Question: What should I do if I want to include a friend’s deficiency within myself, if I want to help him, but I see his resistance?

Answer: Continue. Not for too long, but continue. The most important thing you can do is embrace him and, together, move to a new place.

Question: How can I open myself to the outer circle in order to bestow to them, without judging them, but instead lift them toward the Creator?

Answer: For this, you must first prepare vessels that will allow you to elevate others, and only then begin this work.

Question: You said that if we see that a friend does not strive for mutual responsibility, we should distance ourselves from him. What does it mean to distance yourself from a friend?

Answer: On the journey must take with us only those who will join us in performing all actions together: ascents, descents, and so on.

Let’s Hold Hands Friends

938.04Question: The egoism of each person paints pictures that distance us from mutual responsibility. How can we grab our friends’ hands in time and hold them tightly to enter the implementation of true mutual responsibility?

Answer: You need to desire to be in one heart with your friend, and then you will quickly feel his hands supporting you.

The Creator never acts directly on a person but only through others. Therefore, you must hold on to your friends, and through them, you will feel the direction in which the Creator is guiding you.

Question: What preliminary actions can break the chains of a friend’s egoism, apart from prayer? How else can I help them?

Answer: I don’t think there is anything else.

Ask for Everything

289Question: Usually we ask the Creator, “Connect us with the ten, give us love for our friends,” which means we ask about the future while living in the present. How can we ask about the present?

Answer: Ask for everything, from the greatest requests to the smallest ones. The Creator will arrange them in order and give you what you need.

Question: You said that the connection with a friend should feel the same as the connection with the Creator. How can we feel the connection with the Creator within the connection with friends in the ten?

Answer: You also need to ask for this and try to penetrate deeper into your request to the Creator, and you will see that He will make it happen.

Question: How can we deeply penetrate this request to the Creator?

Answer: You will feel what you are lacking. That is already a matter of feeling.

938.02Question: Typically, the light creates a desire and then departs. Therefore, when we try to enjoy a second time in the same place, it causes a “short circuit.” How can we form a desire that anticipates the descent of the light?

Answer: I think this is not such a big problem. The point is, if we desire to be connected with each other and at the same time establish a connection with the Creator to bestow to the Creator, then everything will work out.

Try to unite in a way that your common desire aligns with the Creator’s desire toward you, and you will achieve what is called “I am for the Creator, and the Creator is for me.”

Try and you will see that it is not difficult.

A Science That Encompasses All of Existence

214The Book of Zohar has been regarded as a special book for thousands of years, one that is universally respected. I see in practice that a person who begins to acquaint themselves with Kabbalah approaches it with great respect.

They see that the science of Kabbalah speaks about absolutely everything and covers all of existence—our psychology, social relationships, theory, practice, history, geography—everything one can imagine in our world. It explains all the roots of the world, all the sources of what happens, and all its purposes.

Furthermore, Kabbalah explains the cycles of souls, our state beyond the material world, and how we can practically achieve this today. It addresses what our freewill consists of, if it exists at all. It shows how we can change our perception of reality, how we can alter this reality and ascend to a level equal to the Creator, to control the Creator.

This means we can change our life, ourselves, humanity, all of nature, and even the Creator—no matter how strange this may sound. All of this is given to us. The science of Kabbalah speaks to a person about absolutely everything. It is above all that exists because it grants us new qualities and new possibilities.

The question is whether we can become a little smarter and consider in advance, before any disasters strike, that it might be worth paying some attention to building a more reliable foundation for our lives on Earth.

After all, many predict that in twenty years, there will either be an ice age or, on the contrary, a rise in global temperatures. Not to mention the possibility of “frying” ourselves in some nuclear war.

Kabbalah provides the means to restrain all of this, to manage it, to achieve harmony, where everyone will have everything they need, and everyone will suddenly come to peace. We will stop dividing borders, oil, and everything else, and will simply reach a completely new common denominator in our relationships. Isn’t that a good thing?

For this, a person simply needs to open a book and study a little or join us through the Internet or through any of our programs, lessons, lectures, or television.

What Does It Mean to “Rejoice in Darkness”?

To “rejoice in darkness” means to be joyful about the purpose behind it. “Darkness” refers to the state of darkness we might be in, while joy stems from what the darkness brings. We might be in an unpleasant state, yet surrounding light shines upon us, enabling us to sense both the darkness and the positive outcomes it will yield in the future.

This is not the same “darkness” that we feel during the preparation stage, which consists only of confusion, emptiness, weakness, and helplessness. The darkness that comes from the illumination of surrounding light also contains a glimpse of the future—spirituality—called the “light of faith,” yet it is still darkness.

When Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai descended to the level of “Shimon from the market,” he determined, from that level, that he was in it, and deduced that the corresponding level would be the state of complete correction. When did he determine this? It was while he was still at the level of “Shimon from the market,” and not from another state.

Did he descend to the level of “Shimon from the market”? Yes, he descended, but it was Rabbi Shimon who descended. He did not become entirely “Shimon from the market,” but rather Rabbi Shimon dressed in the state of “Shimon from the market.” He was at that low level, yet determined from his overall state what this level would bring him.

Even before crossing the barrier (Machsom), we experience states of darkness differently in order to prevent excessive discouragement from descents. The states that take place after the barrier are felt in a certain way before the barrier as well, albeit within the material world, not the spiritual.

The correction of the screen over the desire to receive is called “an act,” meaning taking a negative desire and turning it into a positive one. The Mitzvot (commandments) of the Torah are 613 Eitin (counsels) on how to correct the soul, followed by 613 Pekudin (commands), directives for filling the corrected parts with light.

If we correct all of our parts and fill them with light called “Torah,” we attain the general Torah. Upon completing the correction of the entire vessel, the general light called “the Creator” becomes revealed.
