Reject Something that Distracts from the Spiritual Work

504Question: When you put a lot of effort into studying Torah, you start getting endless material tasks to do. What attitude must one have toward something that distracts you from the study? What is the correct way to work with it?

Answer: If corporeal pleasures distract you from the inner understanding of the Torah, you must accordingly reject them.

Question: The more I reject them, the more they distract me. Should I still keep doing it?

Answer: How can it be different? It is your work to reject something that is trying to pull you into egoism. You also have to ask the Creator to give you the power to be above egoism.
