Question: Let us say that we are discussing a certain integral system in a group of integral education. I cannot restrain myself; I wish to explain the way I see it, but someone else also wants to express himself at the same time. What should I do in regard to my desire? Should I restrain myself and let the other person speak?

Answer: The way you express yourself does not really matter here because you are beginning to transition to the field of feelings. When you begin to work with them on the level of the integral inner composition, you will see that your feelings and thoughts add together with the others. Suddenly, others begin to express your thoughts and feelings, to the point that you do not really need to speak. It turns out that when you include yourself this way in everyone else, you begin to influence them.

You can reach a state where you will begin to feel and perceive one another without words, without the help of your body since you will perceive and feel like you are inside that system you have created between you. And you will not need any physical, verbal communication. You will feel and perceive like you are together in one system where there is no need to descend through our bodies and discuss things on the corporeal level through physical communication.

In other words, we will feel so strongly that we are together in one desire and mind that we will not feel a need to communicate through our bodies. It is just like a mother feels her child, the way we feel people who are close to us even by their movements, or we simply feel what is happening to them.

Question: What is this mutual integration that we must attain between us?

Answer: The integration of desires into each other occurred due to the breaking of the vessels. Foreign desires can also be integrated without the breaking by means of common screens.

But there can’t be integration in desires. If I want something sweet and you want salty, then these are two different demands that can’t be together. They can somehow dress in one another, but neither of them can nullify the other. Each desire has its own place where it is revealed and receives fulfillment.

The Light gave birth to each desire and keeps it in the same form in which it was created. Therefore a very big question appears: So what is integration, penetration into a foreign desire and how is it possible?

Integration can only be in external forms that we provide for ourselves, thus from the inside we remain the same. We can’t integrate in each other through the desires because each one has their own desires. It was said, “Just as their faces are not equal, so are their thoughts and desires not equal.” We can’t connect in desires because each desire is defined precisely and separately from the others.

Each desire was created by its special Light. But when these desires bring about themselves a form of bestowal towards one source, then they can begin to unite thanks to this form of bestowal and they can integrate in each other precisely because there is one common Source, one to all. If all the desires yearn for it, then thanks to their common yearning, they begin to integrate in each other.

Otherwise, mutual integration is impossible. Only the one common Source obliges us to connect and integrate between us. Otherwise we would remain separated. And only so we can achieve a real connection, and not as a group of criminals that connect for an egoistic benefit where each one remains with his desire and with the help of the connection hopes to get fulfillment for himself.

But if we want to integrate with the desires of others, then it’s possible only with the Reforming Light that directs only to one source, which connects between us. As it was said, “He Who makes peace in His Heavens, may He make peace upon us.”

The desires themselves can never connect; each desire remains on its own. If it was not so and all the desires would once again connect and integrate into one desire, then we would not achieve in Gmar Tikkun (the end of correction), an attainment that is 620 times greater in intensity than from what existed previously. This attainment is 620 times greater in intensity because each desire remains on its own; each one is in its Klipa (shell), in its envelope. And when despite everything, they unite to one fruit, beneath one Klipa (shell) like pomegranate seeds, then there is attainment of perfection 620 times greater, adhesion to the Light, and clarification of the Light.

Question: How does it happen that, by improving ourselves, we correct the entire generation (as Baal HaSulam writes in his article, “600,000 Souls”)?

Answer: It cannot work otherwise in the integral analog system in which everybody is interwoven with one another. By correcting a part of me within the universal structure, I correct my connections with others, thus making all liaisons work one hundred percent properly.

 If I improve myself relative to someone else and continue working with them, it means that someone out there is also getting corrected. In other words, by self-correction, I alter the entire segment of the general structure to which I belong: the entire system of souls that are a part of my generation.

The task of the others is to improve their segments of the structure. By doing so, they happen to correct me and others relative to them. It is called “one’s generation.”

This is the way one corrects the others and, thus, discerns a complete (general) soul from one’s personal perspective. So far, it’s not an ample perfection; it is called a “personal end of correction.” A man doesn’t correct himself, but rather his connections with and inclusion in the others. Hence, he corrects himself.

Each of us senses himself as a detached entity only because of the shattering. If not for shattering, we wouldn’t exist at all. Instead, there would have been a network of connections among us. We feel alive only because the power of the shattering has created an individual self-perception within each given desire.

However, through self-correcting—by including myself into others, by revealing the links that already exist among us, and by conforming to them—I lose myself. I transition to becoming a general liaison and, thus, “shift” into others.

The particle that used to be named “I” disappears, contracts itself, and works only in conjunction with others. That’s why I begin to sense myself as if I expand throughout the entire space, meaning that I reveal the “common soul.”

I am totally incapable of receiving into one point, in me. Only by including myself in others, I acquire their vessels and desires. I figure out exactly what I can give to my neighbors, to the person next to me, the one next to him, and so on to everyone!

I discover my personal measurements of bestowal, and thus I win the entire space of the common soul. This is the only acquisition I get. The more I include myself in others, the more I gain through the mere fact of being together with them.

It’s similar to having children. You give everything to them – yourself, your sperm—and thus you multiply and continue living in your children.

My original “I” “discontinues.” It is present solely in my involvement with others. This is how I attain the common soul, all possible liaisons and contacts with others.

Each one performs this kind of work, thus getting encompassed into others. This is how one attains the general common soul, but in one’s own unique way, according to one’s individual spiritual root. Then, one receives the entire sum of other people’s desires only for the sake of serving and fulfilling them. Thus, he becomes a channel through which the Light is transmitted to others.

One receives the surrounding Light that Reforms, reveals others’ demands, and satisfies them. This is how he links with and serves others, similarly to a cell that attends to the whole organism, thus gaining the whole body.

So, by saving our souls, we recover the entire world since a part and the whole are equal. If an isolated particle is connected with the rest of the system, then the whole structure cannot achieve perfection without it since one particle is as significant as the entire system. This is what the law of perfection of the analog system is about.

Question: How can we use the group to attain the demand to acquire trepidation before the Creator?

Answer: First I need to work though all of my original qualities in the group: hatred of my friends, rejection, care for myself, envy, ambition, and all the other problems. All these qualities must become more distinct and obvious so it would become clear to me that I am deep in my egoism. I must recognize my evil. But this entire evaluation happens precisely when I aspire towards goodness.

I must aspire to reveal the love my friends feel towards me so it would soften my heart and give me the desire to search for connections in a material form. Then I will begin to feel like a passionate and powerful energy that is not of this world but becomes revealed inside a more inner connection with my friends—an unusual power and warmth, a special connection.

And this connection does not depend on us, on what we are doing now, and where we are with our feelings and mind at the given moment. This is something that is always present and connects us, and which absolutely does not depend on us. There are certain invisible iron rods, which connect us all.

Due to the fact that I feel this connection between all the hearts, I reveal our belonging to one another. This necessary feeling is there to begin to develop a certain resistance against our narrow egoism.

Question: In the past, in Ukrainian villages, they would build a house in one day. All the villagers would come together and build it. Is it possible in a Kabbalist group, when people would gather and give all their strength and all their energy in order to help others in some way?

Answer: I think that now the Creator will bring us to this. He will invite very big changes in the economy. Masses of people will become unemployed. They will understand that in order to survive, they will need to unite and in this way will find a correct system for connection and unity. With our help, they will find it, and specifically in this form they will exist, doing everything together.

But since this will already be unity at a higher level, it will feed everyone with enormous energy. Baal HaSulam writes about this in the book The Last Generation. Thus, I think, that we are approaching this. Or through our dissemination and consciousness, or via big blows, in any case, humanity will quickly discover that without the correct connection and unity, including the previous studying, education, and knowledge, it will be impossible to do anything.

This is what we see today in Europe. They wanted to connect between them without any inner preparation, and now are separating. And this was a great problem for them. These were normal blows: Everything will fall; everything will collapse just to show people the necessity of unity.

The movement itself is correct, only not in the capitalistic ideology where each one takes for oneself all that he can, but a different ideology. Thus, we will be building together.

“According to the agency, the main risks to global growth are the deeper than expected recession in the eurozone, the danger of a hard landing in major emerging markets such as China, India and Brazil, an oil-price supply-side shock caused by resurfacing geopolitical risks and the potential for sudden and sharp fiscal tightening in the US next year. …

“Moody`s group credit officer for sovereign risk Elena Duggar says: ‘In our view, fiscal consolidation efforts, weak consumer and business confidence, banking and household sector deleveraging, persistently high unemployment levels and real-estate market weakness will continue to constrain growth in advanced economies.’

My Comment: There is only one question: Is the speed of the deepening crisis faster or slower than the speed of thought of politicians? If the crisis overtakes the opportunity to reflect on what is happening, the world will plunge into the darkness of war, famine, and natural disasters. If nevertheless, they will be able to interpret the events and threats and rise above their egoistic calculations (or rather failures), then we will pass the crisis with small losses and begin to build a new economy in the new society.

Inner work is divided into night and day. “Before sunrise” man prays for the salvation of the Shechina from exile. These are such internal states, when man feels that he is in exile from the quality of bestowal, from the good desire, from the land of Israel, the desire directed straight at the Creator (Isra-el).

One needs to delve into this feeling a little bit in order to feel the depth of his egoistic desires. After all, if you are not in the land of Israel, it means that you are in Egyptian slavery! It is necessary to realize how great the concealment is and that you are not able to come out of it by the means of your own strength.

However, one must not lose control of this state, and after checking yourself, you must wake up and come out of it, rise and take care that you have strength, and it was not completely lost in the feeling of exile.

Now, you need to gradually awaken and in the darkness, prepare your desires in expectation of Light. Bitter dissatisfaction, which you felt in Egypt, must transform from the material feeling that you feel bad into a call, an urging towards corrections. It was necessary because otherwise you would not have woken up.

You need to see what corrections you need and begin attuning yourself to bestowal until you reach a true demand for bestowal, meaning towards obtaining an anti-egoistic screen.

We do not understand that we are in bestowal; it is not simple at all. The unity, which man attains with the Creator, gives him great fulfillment; it softens his heart and gives the feeling of complete freedom from one’s egoism, and starts to rule over it. The Light comes and takes power over man if he reaches correct unity with a close one.

And for this, one needs very strong desires in order to not lose one’s head, to maintain control over oneself, and to accept this feeling precisely for the sake of giving pleasure to the Creator. Since here, there is a great danger of beginning to enjoy for yourself, and then man will not fall simply into petty earthly egoistic desires, but into the true Klipot.

That is why we need to prepare our desires for the Light in the darkness of the night, and then right before dawn the upper spiritual Partzufim Aba ve Ima unite. All of the spiritual pleasures that we receive and the Upper Light, all of that is the consequence of unity, meaning the Light, the warmth, which is born from it.

That is why, on one hand, one needs to passionately aspire towards unity, but on the other hand, to stop and strongly control oneself in order not to cleave to it naturally and egoistically, but only consciously and deliberately. It is as if a man is running full-speed, eager to reach unity, but at the very last moment just before touching it, he must stop abruptly and check himself! This is the whole meaning of the wars when entering the land of Israel.

He must clearly identify whether he will now reveal this unity specifically for the sake of bestowal or not. Since when he is not yet in unity, it is not that scary what kind of intentions he will have. For now, his actions are egoistic and the intentions are broken. However, when he begins to enter unity, a danger to enter the unclean forces emerges, the Klipot.

The result of unity and the revelation, which has been reached due to it, must be directed only at the benefit for the Creator, and not for one’s own benefit. Here is where the true war against one’s desire to enjoy begins.

Question: Are the laws of Rabash that we learn appropriate for work in a group of the 99% of the population?

Answer: We should extract from there the fundamentals and teach them to the external audience. What do the laws of Rabash mean? Who are Kabbalists? These are people who take from nature certain general rules and attributes and teach them to us. If I need to be included in the general system, then I have to see this system as higher relative to me. Then I need to diminish myself, and I will be able to connect to it as a little one to grownups.

These are the usual laws of commutation designed to connect together. On the other hand, you need to bring your force to the people with whom you work in this group, the uniqueness of your point in the heart, because it is special in each of us. At the same time, you have to be as if above them, that is, to influence them from the point in the heart. Once, you fully connect with them and cancel yourself, you begin to influence, to bestow.

What Rabash writes about is the basic conditions that we know even from technology and from our physiology: how cells, neural pathways, synapses, etc. connect with each other. We know all that! There is nothing else.

So here it is possible not to mention the Kabbalists, but to take the information from engineering, biology, from anywhere. They are completely rational. They can be explained to any person.

From the article “The Reason for the Difficulty of Annulling Oneself for the Creator” (Shamati): It therefore follows that the essence of one’s work is only to come to the sensation of the existence of the Creator, meaning to feel the existence of the Creator, that “the whole earth is full of His glory.” … He should not think of anything, meaning that the only reward that he wants for his work should be to be rewarded with faith in the Creator.

Many words have a double meaning. After all, their original meaning in Hebrew goes back to Adam, the first man, and Abraham, who gathered a group in ancient Babylon and taught them how to reveal the Creator. Originally, the word indicated the spiritual root and had a spiritual meaning. But today, in our material world, these words could have completely opposite meanings.

For example, the famous phrase from Ecclesiastes “Vanity of vanities, all is vanity (Avel Avalim)” means that everything is built from the Reflected Light (Avel), the results of human work in bestowal. And in our world today, the phrase acquired an absolutely different meaning, as something which has no value.

The same thing happened with the word “faith.” When the people of Israel became detached from the spiritual feeling, this word started to mean something hidden, that we don’t know whether it exists or not. We take for granted that it exists, although we do not have any evidence for this. That is, the word “faith” has lost its true meaning, the sensation of the Creator.

This happened with many other words. And that is why we do not understand what is written in the Kabbalistic texts because they describe spiritual states.

The difficulty of spiritual work is that we have no faith in the Creator, that is, we do not feel Him. And once a person begins to feel the Creator, he has another problem: how to rise above this feeling and through his free choice prefer bestowal upon the Creator. After all, this bestowal should not be forced under the influence of the revelation of the Creator, but it should rise above this revelation due to its highest value. Otherwise, it will be only the result of a small person worshiping the great Creator, and there would be no work in this.

In the meantime, the difficulty of our work is that we do not feel the upper force—the only thing that controls this world. In the moment a person reveals this feeling, he surrenders and agrees to anything. Therefore, our only goal in the work is to reveal the Creator, and we need to concentrate all our efforts to reveal Him according to the similarity of properties, which can be realized within the group through connection and mutual guarantee.

Question: How can I elucidate my egoism in spirituality if I am not there yet?

Answer: You clarify your spiritual properties even though you are not there yet based on your connection with your friends since you are trying to overcome your egoism and be associated with them through mutual guarantee. One’s aspiration toward the group in which everyone works together and tries to connect is similar to the states and desires that we will experience in the upper world.

I aspire to it as a child who pretends to be an adult. This is how he learns. The same applies to us when we start a new job. We use various models to educate ourselves and, thus, gradually acquire the skills that we need to fulfill the job.

It works the same way in regard to our spiritual work. I don’t know what the upper Light is, nor do I know what the next, higher state will be for me. The upper reality is outside of us and we don’t see how to approach it; however, only for this purpose was this world was created; the common (general) desire was split into billions of parts, allowing us to work with them, collect them back together, and learn how to adjust ourselves in a way that will eventually let us recognize that, on one hand, we are unable to collect the broken pieces together on our own, and, on the other hand, we are eager to accomplish it.

Then, we realize that not only are we unwilling to work on it, but, in general, we are totally unable to. But, at the same time, while continuing to act and make efforts, we begin sensing a huge desire to make it somehow come true.

Suddenly, those huge, diverse, and often times opposite states of ours gather into one piece. They still contradict one another since on one hand, we must bring up our tremendous, salient egoism, and on the other hand, we must aspire to the Light, to bestowal.

These states still are opposite to and isolated from each other. The Light that connects them together creating a spiritual vessel (a desire and the screen), has not descended to them as of yet.

So far, there is no screen, nor is there any connection between the Light and the desire. They are standing apart from one another. This oppositeness is felt within our desire as something very intense and contradictory, but we still must aspire to make it happen. Then, it will happen.
