The Society of the Future: Caring for One Another

963.4Comment: There are many sites where our information is presented. But you are talking about a completely different stage when a person doesn’t just visit a site to get information but absorbs warmth from it.

My Response: Of course. We must make the surrounding environment in relation to each of us, like a game of Tamagotchi, a virtual pet that needs to be fed on time, put to sleep, and constantly cared for. But this egoist, their Tamagotchi, is always demanding and demanding from them.

However, we need to create a slightly different game, where the surrounding society becomes my pain, my “baby.” I depend on it, I love it, I care only for it because, to me, it is the most important thing, just as a child is to a mother for whom nothing else in the world exists. Nature has made us this way.

And here we must reach this state on our own. However, by ourselves, we can do nothing; we must come to the point of truly desiring it. And then we will feel the need for the upper light, which will bring us this correction.

Reaching such a state is practically a game. At this stage, we are not yet drawing the upper light, as we must attract it through our desire.

We must create such a game-like connection between us in which you would constantly receive inspiration, a sense of importance, and necessity from others—where they would excite you, provoke you, pull you forward to such an extent that you would feel envy, anger, and greed, and you would ask yourself why you don’t have what others do.

This is how your aspiration for the upper should be.

Create an Adapter Between Us and Nature

959We need to create an online system that conveys the atmosphere described by Kabbalists, the atmosphere that should prevail in the society of the future. We need to establish a virtual community, open to everyone, where a person can learn to live according to spiritual laws and principles.

This community should naturally be friendly and include interactive, game-like elements. Through this learning process, a person would gradually come to understand what nature is, why it influences them the way it does, why they feel discomfort due to being opposite to it, and how they can change to feel better.

This is essentially a system for adapting a person to nature. We exist within nature, but we don’t realize how opposite we are to it, which is why we constantly suffer. Creating such an adapter between us and nature is exactly what we need.

Light Through the Group

165Question: How do you yourself receive light through the group? Let’s say we have to nullify ourselves toward our friends. How does this happen to you?

Answer: I also have to nullify myself internally toward the group.

Comment: But you have a completely different process of nullification since you feel and know the spiritual system.

My Response: It doesn’t matter. I still nullify myself before them, that is, before that spiritual image, before the appearance, before the spiritual vessel, that my students represent.

In fact, they are internally connected to each other into one single whole, very powerful, infinite, and perfect. I nullify myself in relation to this internal unity.

Their connection, their love, the fact that the Creator wishes to see them this way and holds them at this level, I feel all of this within my friends, within the group, and, you could say, within all of humanity.

Although it is a bit harder to imagine, in essence, this is the case. Otherwise, we cannot connect with the collective soul, the place where the Creator resides.

I do not nullify myself in relation to each of these individuals based on their external traits. They may be small, beginners, or egoists. I nullify myself not before their outward expressions, but in relation to the inner divine desire and fulfillment that exists within each of them, within every person in the world. But they are unaware of this.

Completely Different Logic

219.01Question: When you share information with someone, do you not have a sense of its consumers to better understand what they want?

Answer: In the article “Prophecy,” Baal HaSulam writes that he asked the Creator to lower him from the high level he was on so he could write something for people and they would understand what Kabbalah is, get closer to it, and use it. After all, Kabbalah is a purely practical science that needs to be implemented within oneself. How successful he was is a question.

When we read his works, we gradually begin to understand his style and his greatness. He managed to express vast spiritual volumes, properties, and actions very beautifully with a small number of words.

But I do not think he was satisfied with himself. It seems to me that he would have liked to write in such a way that a person, after glancing at the page, would gasp, freeze, and stick to the text as to a picture that would enter him and imprint on him, like an external image on film. This is how Kabbalistic material should be imprinted.

Light is reflected on a person’s desire. Moreover, the difference between the desire and the light is minimal so that the image can be transferred from the light directly to the egoistic desire that is opposite to it.

I do not think Baal HaSulam achieved this. Many read, but understand nothing. People who know Hebrew perfectly, with a university education, come to me and ask: “What is this about?” They cannot connect words into sentences because it is a completely different logic.

I remember myself. I did not understand the structure of the phrase itself: it seemed to be predicate-predicate-predicate, without a subject or verb. That is, it is illogical both in spelling and in vocabulary. So we still have to work as well.

Reincarnations: Preparation for the Spiritual

202.0Question: In the previous reincarnations of life, all your students have received some training. That is, there is no such person who comes to Kabbalah from scratch. Is it so?

Answer: No, it is not like that. It is just that people who come to study Kabbalah today have done some work in previous reincarnations, so that this time in this world they can feel its hopelessness, uselessness, and meaninglessness, and disagree with their animal existence.

And all the others who still cannot react to it in this way, are spinning in their animal interests: honor, fame, power, even knowledge, culture, and science. During this lifetime, they are interested in all kinds of achievements at the level of our world.

A person who comes to pure Kabbalah is only interested in spiritual attainment. Whatever you offer him in our world, he does not see anything in it that would captivate him. You can tell him, “Let us become billionaires in ten or twenty years” and he is not interested. “Let’s make you prime minister in ten years” is also not interesting.

He is only interested in the spiritual revelation of the meaning of life and in achieving it in order to give his body such content at the level of our world that it would not distract him from spiritual expansion.

Therefore such people must already go through some states in the preliminary reincarnations of their lives, not spiritual ones, but simply certain disappointments in our world. It is quite possible that in this cycle, in this life, they will go through them.

That is, they will achieve some opportunities to become rich, noble, respected, and—having achieved or not achieved this—they will quickly reveal the inconsistency of such aspirations, that is, the lack of fulfillment from all this, and then they come to Kabbalah.

Of course, a person is driven by selfishness, a feeling of emptiness, and the question: “Why do I live, because there is no fulfillment in life?” It is healthy, normal egoism that leads him to Kabbalah, egoism that eventually kills itself, that becomes its own gravedigger.

The Group Is the Embodiment of the Connection between Souls

939.02In spiritual work, the group is absolutely essential for everyone because it is the instrument with which we reveal the Creator. The Creator is attained only through the connection between souls.

And the group in our world is the embodiment of such connection. In a group, we can learn how to interact with one another despite egoism.

This is the most unnatural work for a human being! It is the most dreadful activity you could ever come up with—trying mechanically to love, to participate in lessons and events, and to constantly interact. But there is no way around it.

Question: Are the people you work with also a group for you?

Answer: For me, the group consists of practically all my students from all over the world who take part in lessons, read my blog, and are with me.

Question: Do they help in your advancement?

Answer: Of course, I relate to them like a mother who feeds her children and derives pleasure from it.

Listen or Watch

631.3Question: In Kabbalah there is listening and watching. You have repeatedly mentioned that in the past the Torah was learned by heart, meaning it was listened to. Is the difference in perception really that significant?

Answer: The point is that when you load yourself with data, you can freely operate with it and act accordingly. Imagine that, like a computer’s memory, you had all spiritual literature embedded within you.

Not just memorized words and phrases but fully integrated in accordance with your own internal program like a computer filled with connections allowing you to extract, explore, and study information as needed.

For example, I recently had a discussion about the nature of envy, and I had to elaborate on the topic for half an hour: what kind of human trait it is, how it drives a person toward a goal, whether it is good or bad, how it manifests in a group, in a family, within oneself and in relation to the Creator, and so on.

Because I have accumulated a significant amount of Kabbalistic material, I never prepare for lessons or recordings. I arrive, hear the topic from the host, and immediately engage in discussion.

This improvisation is even more enjoyable for me than preparing in advance as I experience various new associations in the moment through the setting and the act of speaking itself. This process goes live immediately, and requires a certain mental effort, a bit of nervous, stressful inner realization. And I love that.

This is possible because I have stored the necessary material within me. I can instantly recall what is said about mutual hatred, envy, egoism, vanity, and other qualities that help a person internally structure himself and achieve a goal.

It is said that envy, hatred, power, vanity, and similar traits drive a person toward their purpose. These qualities exist within us for a reason; they are meant to help us achieve something great when used correctly, not to suppress others, but to learn from them and continually rise higher and higher.

I operate with this knowledge immediately. But if, at that moment, I had to start reading and searching through books like some philosopher, that would not be what Kabbalah demands from a person in their spiritual advancement. In other words, this knowledge, these informational records must be within us.

I am speaking about a Kabbalist-scholar and not about someone who simply moves forward internally. Such a person does not need this; they only need connection with others in order to restore the structure of the collective soul. There, they will perceive their own inner spiritual world and their eternal movement.

Question: So does that mean one does not need to memorize material?

Answer: No, people do not need anything at all except to correct the division between themselves that occurred during our creation.

What Does the Creator Want to Tell Us?

222Question: If such a request, a prayer, to the Creator, truly arises, what will happen? Will He respond?

Answer: The Creator is already responding; we just don’t understand His answers.

He tells us that if we follow the right path, that is, if we abandon our egoistic goals, then we will elevate ourselves to the next level of development.

There we will be completely different. First of all, we will no longer be immersed in ourselves, in our egoism. We will strive to create a reality where everyone is equal. And beyond that, the most important thing for us will be to feel the necessity of holding on to each other, of staying together. This is what the Creator wants to bring us to.

Question: Are you talking about all of humanity? About relationships between people, between countries, between everything? Is this our next degree?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Why don’t we want to move toward it? It sounds very appealing, considering the state of our reality.

Answer: “Do I have to think about others? I can’t, and I don’t want to.” That is what every person feels.

Question: And the Creator will give us this ability if we turn to Him?

Answer: Yes.

Question: But do I have to truly desire this next stage?

Answer: I have to reach the realization that I must desire it.

Comment: It seems like this desire can only come from something very bad.

My Response: Gradually, that is exactly what we are descending into.

Question: So we will be brought to something very bad, to the point where we finally ask: “Give us the ability to be together”?

Answer: Yes.

Is Kabbalah Like Meditation?

530Question: If a person meditates, he looks at some object and tries to feel how this object affects him. When we study Kabbalistic texts, we also look into them and ask for them to influence us internally. So how, then, does Kabbalah differ from ordinary meditation?

Answer: I don’t understand what meditation has to do with it? Meditation is when you envision some kind of image, some kind of letter, something hanging in the air, and you meditate on it.

I absolutely cannot relate to this action and intention that we would develop in ourselves in our Kabbalistic efforts to unite. Because in Kabbalah everything is very real. We discover within ourselves mutual hatred, rejection of one another, and we try not to run away from it, not to float away somewhere in the clouds, but instead to find connections that would force us, despite the mutual rejection, to unite with each other.

Kabbalah by no circumstances destroys egoism, it uses it. That is why it is called “the science of receiving.” All meditations are based on the idea that you suppress egoism, as if it doesn’t exist. And so, I fly off somewhere into the clouds, and I’m already an angel of God.

But here, no, you become even more vile, an even more egoistic individualist, opposite to others. But you rise above yourself, above your “I,” above mutual rejection.

Mutual rejection is called “Aviut“(the “thickness” of your egoism in the group), and mutual connection is called “Zakut” (the “purity,” the serenity of your relationships). These two qualities must be together, one above the other, and through this, a third quality is created, the so–called “middle line,” which combines both of them in itself.

Therefore, Kabbalistic meditation, if it can even be called that, is absolutely real, because it always and entirely is based on egoism, which is growing more and more.

The Development of Feelings

198Comment: You say a person studies Kabbalah not to attain wisdom but to develop the ability to perceive the next dimension.

Answer: Of course, because we live through feelings. When they develop in us, we can analyze them: if it is hot, light, warm, and so on.

I have five senses, which I can explore and develop based on my perception. Such exploration creates science. In other words, all our sciences are data collected from our senses and devices we add to them like microscopes, telescopes, etc.

That is, first, we use the matter of creation, the desire. Then, in this desire we feel everything that happens in it, all kinds of disturbances and fluctuations; we examine them, record them, scale them, put them in order, and from this our science arises.

When I measure something, I do it relative to my qualities. But I cannot even imagine that I am exploring everything relative to myself. If other creatures were in our place, they would see and measure everything entirely differently. We just do not understand how connected we are and we act only from inside this box, from our body.

Therefore, when a person enters into the sensation of the upper world, the first thing he realizes is how subjective all his previous knowledge, feelings, and experiences were. But understanding this is only possible when he acquires one more system.
