What Is Infidelity In The Spiritual World?

laitman_276_02Question: For a woman in the spiritual world, what is “infidelity” in relationships between a man and woman?

Answer: In the spiritual world, the concept of infidelity doesn’t exist because it operates on the basis of equivalence of characteristics. When two systems enter into an attachment, each one gives and receives, one from the other and they create a “contact,” which is called Zivug (coupling). The systems are divided and move apart from one another to the degree of the difference between these characteristics. The more equivalence between them, the fuller the connection they enter and vice versa.

In the spiritual world there are no souls that are mutually connected permanently.

Contacts between them are very rapid; the souls enter into contact and immediately break up. Again they establish a contact and again they break up. So the contacts are constantly renewed. We change all the time. If in this world I am in front of you in a physical form, it doesn’t change very much and so there is no problem in identifying me; in the spiritual world, I acquire new forms on every level and am completely different all the time and am even called by different names. It is not even possible to identify between who I was yesterday, who I am today, or who I will be tomorrow; these are completely different expressions of my soul.

Every day a person is new. If previously he was on the level of “Moses,” today he is on the level of “Abraham,” and tomorrow on the level of “Noah,” and so on. The desires are constantly changing. The degree of correction of the desires changes and constantly reaches changes in direction. Each time a new switch occurs. We are so included in each other that nothing will remain of us until we become one uniform mass.

The person begins to feel that he is seemingly swimming in ceaseless movement within eternity and wholeness! His “self” dissolves except for one point, so that he can feel something outside of himself. I don’t know what the fate of that point is after the completion of correction, but all of these sensations and emotions are sensations and emotions that are external to our “self.” It is so wonderful to dissolve into something eternal and perfect, what could be better? All of the limitations in our world disappear: time, motion, and space, and we are in perpetual motion and spiritual ascent!

There Is No Neuter Gender In Nature

laitman_559Question: In Europe there are kindergartens where children aren’t differentiated by gender; they are called “it.” They believe that, with time, a child must determine his own sex. How is this possible in a civilized world?

Answer: I don’t know how it is possible to call a person “it” when nature has created a precise division into either “she” or “he.”

In Hebrew, there is no neuter. Hebrew is the language of the roots, and it comes from the higher system of management where a clear division exists between the masculine part and the feminine part. It is not possible to call something by a masculine name and then switch to a feminine name, and vice versa. So, the concept of “it” doesn’t exist in nature. There is only a male or female part, male or female property.

Men, Women, And Second Marriages

Laitman_511_01Question: Today men easily marry women who have childrens and everyone regards this tolerantly, while in the past it was not welcomed by society, why is that?

Answer: We have changed so much lately that such things don’t matter anymore. We get married, get divorced, become friends and connect with the shreds of other families, get along with them, and live together.

In the past it was very unusual for a man to marry a woman who already belonged to another, but this has changed during the last centuries. Today it is less important for a man whether the woman he lives with has a child from a previous marriage or not. It is the result of our corporeal and spiritual development.

When we begin to mutually interact in the correct mutual connection, the Upper Light begins to correct us and our perspective of the world and the mutual relations between people change. They can either become more rigid and restrained or quite the opposite, we can constantly ascend in the spiritual connection between us paying no special attention to the physical connection.

Male And Female Souls

laitman_570Question: Can a female soul be reincarnated as male soul and vice versa? How can you explain the fact that a woman has a masculine character?

Answer: A person’s character says nothing about the attributes of his soul. When person begins to study the wisdom of Kabbalah he receives forces from Above, from the Surrounding Light. After a few years of serious study during which he totally changes from the state of Lo Lishma (not for its sake) to Lishma (for its sake), he undergoes great changes and his character is totally transformed.

As for the reincarnation of a female soul as a male soul and vice versa, this does not exist in the spiritual world. Every soul is made of both a male and a female part. There cannot be one without the other, like a dipole.

If you connect to someone through your male part, you connect to another person through your female part because all the souls are connected in a mutual flow. There is either a dominant male or a female part in each of us, but in general, they are mutually balanced.

Husband, Wife And The Source Of The Soul

laitman_560Question: Is a wife given to a man because of the root of his soul, and vice versa?

Answer: This is a very complex coupling. In our day it is very confusing because in our world there are no new souls.

This is not the first time that we have descended here; since everyone here is so “involved” with each other, it is doubtful whether we will reach an ideal match with each other here. It is now precisely for this reason that it is very difficult for couples to connect.

Women, Don’t Interfere With The Men’s Work

laitman_622_01Question: Why don’t we have a mixed Kabbalistic group of men and women so that they will be able to better complement one another?

Answer: This is impossible because a woman unbalances the men’s group.

The point is that a man is naturally attracted to women and their appearance arouses different feelings in him, which distract him from the spiritual work.

Therefore, there is no need for any contact or connection between men and women during the study. The men are forbidden to see women during the study so that they will not be distracted from the spiritual intention while the women can naturally watch the men peacefully as they actually receive the spiritual potential from them.

Thus, there should be a special atmosphere where men engage in spiritual work so that the women will not disturb them.

One For The Sake Of The Other

laitman_601_02Question: What should a man do if a woman wishes to do a man’s job, to order the man around and to manage him?!

Answer: Nothing. Let her order him around, so what? What’s important is what a woman does with regard to her spiritual advancement.

There should be coordination and cooperation between the sexes, one for the sake of the other because one cannot break through to the upper world without the other.

It is just as my teacher Rabash used to say: Love is a domestic animal that has to be fed all the time, growing through mutual concessions.

Men And Women, The Need For Fulfillment

Laitman_632_3Question: Why are more women than men studying the wisdom of Kabbalah in our day?

Answer: In truth, more women deserve to study the wisdom of Kabbalah than men. This is connected to the fact that in our world a woman feels more emptiness than a man; she doesn’t feel contentment.

Women are too dependent on men. In this world, a man can fulfill himself with a multitude of pleasures, whereas a woman receives fulfillment through a man, by his side, just as Malchut (the desire to receive) is fulfilled through Zeir Anpin (the Creator) in the spiritual world.

So because women are not receiving fulfillment, they are in greater depression, in emptiness. This is the reason that they yearn more for the wisdom of Kabbalah, trying to find satisfaction through it. If a woman moves correctly, she truly finds fulfillment in a group that is studying the wisdom of Kabbalah. We have opened our lessons through the Internet to make it possible for women to have equal opportunities for studying together with the men.

Question: What do women need for fulfillment? Are they fulfilled by the same things that men are fulfilled by?

Answer: Yes, but the fact is that a woman receives fulfillment through the group of men anyway. A group of women by itself cannot fulfill itself. It must exist alongside a group of men.

A Crisis In Masculinity

laitman_565_01In the News (The Telegraph): “There is a crisis in modern masculinity, with men struggling to deal with pressures in their personal and professional lives, according to a report by the mental health charity CALM (the Campaign Against Living Miserably). …

“Suicide is now the single biggest cause of death in men aged 20-49 in England and Wales, with males accounting for 78 per cent of all suicides in the UK. Female suicide rates, in comparison, are declining. …

“Roughly half of all the 1,000 men and women surveyed said they had experienced some form of depression, yet women were much more likely to seek help or confide in a friend. 74pc of women who had suffered depression said they had spoken to someone about it, while only 53pc of males had done so. 69pc of men who had suffered depression said they preferred to deal with the problem themselves.

“When it came to work, 42pc of men said they felt pressure to be the main breadwinner in the family, compared to just 13pc of females. Of those surveyed, men were much more likely to have lost their jobs previously (54pc compared to 35pc of females) and to have lost their job more than once (25 pc compared to 10pc of women). 29pc of men believed their partner would think they were ‘less of a man’ if they lost their job.

“When asked about relationships, around three in 10 men felt that they personally lacked qualities and abilities that sexual or romantic partners look for in a man. …

“Men also felt additional pressure to remain strong during times of crisis. Around 42pc of male respondants said they believe a man is ‘mostly responsible’ for being emotionally strong and taking charge in a crisis, compared to around 17pc of women.

“Speaking of the findings, CALM’s chief executive Jane Powell said: ‘The research underlines that so often their own worst enemies, men need new rules for survival. Outmoded, incorrect and misplaced male self-beliefs are proving lethal and the traditional strong, silent response to adversity is increasingly failing to protect men from themselves.”

In the News (The Guardian): “Philip Zimbardo is a superstar mainstay of introductory undergraduate courses in psychology – well, a lot of them. He’s the man behind the infamous Stanford Prison Experiment in 1971, which provided insights into the psychological impact of being placed in either a position of power, or powerlessness in a confined prison setting. But in a new book out this last week, Zimbardo’s focus has shifted to – in his view – something much more concerning. Zimbardo thinks that there is a crisis in menfolk going on, and it’s all the fault of video games and porn.

“One of the main concerns that Zimbardo and Coulombe seem to have is that young men are playing video games to excess, and that they are using games as a form of extreme escapism from the worries and responsibilities of real life.”

My Comment: It is possible to detach from the screen only through an enticing of life that the screen cannot provide. When a man discovers that there is an exit to the next level of consciousness and existence, he will detach his attention from the screen, from the games and so on, and enter into contact with people like him to attain an exit to a higher dimension.

Single People Are Happier

laitman_766_1In the News (Gazeta.Ru): “Love and a happy family life is not so necessary for people for mental balance and peace of mind, scientists have found. The Science Division of Gazeta.Ru tells about the latest research of psychologists and sociologists whose works were presented at the annual meeting of the American Sociological Association.

“We all know that people who have a stable relationship and a strong family, have much fewer problems with their psychological state of health than those who lead a lonely life. However, does this rule apply (which, incidentally, is supported by research, and psychologists) to all people? This issue took a group of researchers under the direction of Utica Girma from the University of Auckland in New Zealand.

“As a result of the work it became clear that a single life makes some people happier than a family.

“As the authors of the study say, people who are happier without a family, do not necessarily have to be introverts. Most often alone is better for those who seek to avoid conflicts in any of their manifestations: family life and relationship in any way involve a certain number of skirmishes and quarrels. According to psychologists, for those who always seek in any way to move away from conflict, a lonely life – really the best way to maintain mental balance. …

“Those couples who are already parents, the researchers recommend that: in order to avoid quarrels, which often follow directly after the birth of children, to share responsibilities for the care of the baby evenly. The research team led by Daniel Carlson from the State University of Georgia found out how parents should share the burden of child-rearing.

“The authors emphasize that the husband and wife should share the responsibilities of all types: passive (monitoring the baby during its play on the playground), interactive (communication with children), and physical (such as feeding and bathing). If everything is distributed evenly between the parents, their relationship does not fade with time, and their sexual life is still active. …

If everything is distributed evenly between the parents, their relationship does not fade with time, and sexual life is still active. …

“It was found that in 69% of the cases the breakup was initiated by women – but this is true only in cases officially registered marriage.

“If it was an ‘unofficial’ relationship break-up, the ‘contribution’ of both partners was approximately the same.
The study’s authors attribute this to the fact that many modern women perceive marriage as a ‘relic of the past,’ which, in their opinion, infringes their rights.”

Answer: The ego is growing and in order to keep a marriage together new, stronger marriage ties are required, if people decide to get married at all. According to the wisdom of Kabbalah the only means for a strong marriage is a sublime goal that the couple share, which is the revelation of the Creator, a perfect eternal existence. This can easily be attained in a good marriage. Any other relationship or agreement will fall apart as we reach the end of correction.
