Question: If I don’t feel the Creator, can I tune in to you as the goal, since you and your goal are clear to me?

Answer: If that suits you, then you can tune in to me. Actually, I devote all my life, all my time, to studying and teaching, and aspiring for the Creator and helping others do the same. Basically, each one of us needs to do that.

But in the wisdom of Kabbalah, the teacher cannot be the standard because his inner life, his inner development, is not known to anyone. What we see is only his external movements that function on the physical level, the animal level.

For example, the religious Hassids imitate their teacher, “Oh, our Rabbi loves to eat that, and dress like that, and we do the same.”

Of course, this is not a basis for imitation. You don’t receive anything through that because in everyday life I live and exist according to my physical (animal) body. I operate according to what my body demands and according to what doctors advise. I listen to doctors and listen to my body.

There is absolutely nothing here that is connected to the spiritual world. All of spirituality exists deep within and is inaccessible to the eye and to imitation. Thus, there is no reason to look at me.

Think about each one of us reaching the goal. If each one will begin wanting his friends to reach the goal, then that will be the “prayer of many.”

Question: How can we logically explain to people that connection is the single solution to all problems?

Answer: Clearly, unity between people gives them strength. On this principle the army, political parties, or any other organization is built. A few people that unite together receive strength, especially nowadays.

Even in the days of slavery, the association of the slaves was feared. Every country is afraid arising associations. If more than a hundred people connect, immediately they are checked to see what is happening there, what they are doing, and what their plans are. It is necessary for the public security.

But by connection between us, if it is the correct connection, we begin to feel that there is some source of force, mind, a new feeling. We need to make an effort to feel it ourselves, but we are neglecting it. If I don’t receive awakening from the center of the group, a lifting of spirit, a feeling of warmth, love, an increase of the feeling of feeling and mind, then I am not connected to it.

Just as I need to eat something every few hours, so I need to feel the appetite and hunger to come to the group and receive nourishment from it. I don’t have to come physically to the group, but I must feel its center, from which from I yearn to fulfill myself.

If you still don’t see and feel what the profit is from the connection, it’s a sign that you still have to work on it. Even the greatest Kabbalist cannot exit himself if he retreats to some hidden place. He must be connected with at least a few students equal to or greater than him so that inside the connection he will find feeling and mind from a higher degree.

Every time he will progress like that, otherwise he will not have life. He will stop in place and die because life must renew all the time.

Therefore, when we come to people and help them connect, we need to teach them how to reveal the source of live water in order to be able to drink from it, from the center of connection between them. As a result of that, they will receive the spirit of life. They will start to feel that they lack it, like a little child that suddenly needs his mother, runs and clings to her, and then again he runs back to his games. Like that we need to show people the source of life.

You should feel at the time of the workshop and different actions that in the connection between you there is a new inner excitement, a sharper feeling of joy, and deeper meaning that makes it possible to reach a new clarification of the current state and the next state that is suddenly revealed.

If at a time of connection with friends such a special feeling is not awakened, it’s a sign that you did not reach any connection. We have to reveal it in ourselves and to teach others, because in it is the source for joy, liveliness, the force of life, and for us it’s also a source for clarification, because only feelings are not enough for us, we also want to clarify these states and participate in them consciously “to awaken the dawn” ourselves.

Therefore, this spring that we reveal in the center of the group is the source of force for spiritual progress. And for the people, it is the source of confidence, pleasant feeling, more correct observation toward the attitude inside the family, children, education, etc., meaning the source of their lives.

This is a very special point. I must find the source of force, the source of life, the source of mind and energy for myself, and suddenly I see that the way becomes clearer and my state stabilizes in the correct direction. I acquire strength and stability. All of this I receive from the center of the group.

The Torah, “Numbers” 5:5 – 5:7: The Lord then spoke to Moses saying: Tell the children of Israel: When a man or woman commits any of the sins against man to act treacherously against God, and that person is [found] guilty, they shall confess the sin they committed, and make restitution for the principal amount of his guilt, add its fifth to it, and give it to the one against whom he was guilty.

“They shall confess the sin,” means examining the work that was done and discovering what state you find yourself in. Without such scrutiny you cannot advance properly. The recognition of evil is a precondition to overcoming it.

Question: How should I examine things if I commit a trespass against the Creator, which means that I have disconnected from the attribute of love and bestowal?

Answer: We examine our state under the influence of the collective and the study according to the right system. Then we begin to judge ourselves, which is a prayer. Praying means judging yourself. If I am connected to all those who yearn for the Creator, it is thanks to this connection that I begin to see myself through their eyes, and then I can examine myself. If I am inside myself, I basically don’t think or reflect about anything and I am on the animate level. After all, an animal feels itself the way it is, whereas, a human being feels himself with regard to others and so he feels envy, jealousy, and other attributes that are rarely found in animals.

So in order to examine myself correctly we need a group; delving into myself will only lead to depression and to nothing but self-torture. All this is useless. Self-examination is a state in which you draw the Upper Light, which comes through the group unto yourself and you begin to examine yourself with regard to it. Such a focused examination shows you to what extent you are properly integrated into the group, which means with the Creator! It is because the group is actually the general attribute of connection to which you measure yourself. But if you do it by yourself, you will begin to compare yourself to ordinary people and this isn’t the state you should compare yourself to. It has to be fulfilled through the group and through the Upper Light that comes through it.

We know how much suffering people who were involved with the dissemination of the wisdom of Kabbalah went through since the time that the method of the Ari began to be introduced in this world. And this is not because of someone’s evil will but because we exist in a broken system.

And the moment that you begin to go out with your spiritual idea that is directed towards connection between people, you immediately put yourself under fire from all directions.

Someone who was neutral and even supported you also comes out against you. After all, you are arousing anti-egoistic forces and egoism is the nature of the whole world. So we see that there aren’t any people in whom anti-Semitism isn’t hiding, after all, it comes from nature. It is possible to ignite the fire of this hatred in everyone.

Correspondingly, anyone who hears about the wisdom of Kabbalah hates it because he is in the nature of the broken desires. And if he is attracted to the wisdom of Kabbalah, it is only out of curiosity. But in fact, he hates it, and to the degree that he gets closer to it, he hates it more and more, until he abandons it.

There has to be great help from above and work in this world, so that together they will influence a person, and he will cross the potential Machsom (barrier) standing before him, leap above it, and rise to his first spiritual level.

We know how the first Hasidim suffered; they were arrested and put in prison in Russia and in the Ukraine. Against them was the Mitnagdim (the movement against Hasidism). Those religious Jews hated the Hassids who wanted to disseminate the wisdom of Kabbalah so much that they made efforts to imprison them and condemn them to death. The fire of hatred burn in the religious Jews regarding those who tried to open the wisdom of Kabbalah and spoke about connecting people and revealing the hearts that this hatred is felt to this day, even though modern Hassidism is no longer the ideology it once was, and therefore, there is not as much opposition to it.

We know how much Baal HaSulam suffered. When he published the newspaper, The Nation it was immediately shut it down. He planned to write 50 articles continuing with “Matan Torah (The Giving of the Torah),” “The Arvut (Mutual Guarantee),” and “Peace in the World.” But instead of 50 articles, he only published four as he was forced to stop because the newspaper was shut down. He said: “If so, then the generation is not ready for this, and there is nobody to write for!” How many new ideas would we have gotten if he hadn’t stopped?

Even during my life with Rabash I saw how much it was difficult to be involved with studying Kabbalah. Today there are many such groups, and if you sit in your corner and don’t go out, everything is okay, there will not be opposition. But the moment that you go out, you will get blows. Like the Jews who lived in exile in the closed ghettos, the Kabbalists lived among the Jews.

But the time has come when we must come out of hiding not for the sake of some abstract idea, but because the correction in our generation is possible only with the inclusion of masses of people. The connection between them is the only condition necessary for revelation. It follows that if I don’t connect to others, I don’t create the conditions, the means, the basis, the bearer in which the Light can be revealed.

And then all of my studying would be in vain; it would bring no added value that would allow me to realize myself and truly merit the discovery of the Light, the revelation of the Creator, raising myself to the first spiritual level. This is possible only if thousands more will connect with this. Even though the power of each is minimal, together they are strong in quantity that works together with the qualitative force that worked in previous generations.

And so we have received the opportunity to fill the desire that is burning in us. It burns a bit in each one, like a thin candle. But if we connect many candles together, a gigantic blaze is created that is prepared to illuminate with spiritual Light.

All the work until the generation of the Messiah is in self-annulment, although there are differences according to the destiny of each soul. In every generation there are high souls that have special missions.

This continues until we reach the time of the Messiah, which we are in today. The whole world becomes on soul, one family, and so we have to perform actions according to the time we live in.

This doesn’t mean that we have to sit and wait for the Messiah and hope for some miracle from Above. There are no miracles. There is only one miracle: the spark that awakens in a person. Everything else depends on one’s efforts and on his work, and there are no concessions here on the part of the upper system. Our mission is to draw the Light that Reforms unto ourselves and to correct the incorporation of all in all.

Today it is fulfilled by dissemination, using all the opportunities we have.  After all, it is the most real and practical action of correction that we can perform. This is the reason that we cannot escape this work. We should understand that all our study and all the systems we have built are all meant only to continue the dissemination of the method of correction and connection.

This is the major part of our work through which we will be rewarded with a corrected soul and will attain the form of Adam (Man). Then we will discover what the height of 600,000 souls that make that Malchut is. All the souls of Israel are included in Malchut of the world of Atzilut and rise with it to the height of GAR of Atzilut, called 600,000, ,which is 620 times greater, or the complete attainment from the minimal Light of Nefesh of Nefesh of Nefesh until the attainment of the complete Light of NRNHY.

This is our work, and the most important thing is not to forget that our mutual incorporation is the fulfillment of the correction. Its practical embodiment is the incorporation of the whole nation, as it says: “The Creator dwells among His people.” It is there that we find our corrections and the correction of our soul.

We must not forget that this requires continuous work and caring about people. There are different levels here: the still, vegetative, and animate nature and man, and even a poor beggar is as important as a prince. Those who are on the level of the whole nation have the power from their great mass of billions of people. On the level of the vegetative there are fewer parts, and there are even fewer on the animate level, while on the human level there are just a few.

Eventually we meet with the whole world, with all the people of all sorts that will later be clarified. We cannot identify them immediately. We see that people are ignited at first and then they cool off or that they follow the right path along a very thin line and then they suddenly divert and are attracted to an unknown direction.

We have to take care of everyone, like children, until they grow up. We must remember that it is actually thanks to this care that we correct ourselves and grow. We can attain the one soul only by dissemination; this is our mission.

Integral Education Convention, Lecture # 1:

Question: Is it easier for the Israeli nation to understand or to feel that “there is none else besides Him” because of the uniqueness of this country and its education?

Answer: Everyone says that the Jews are a special nation; this isn’t new. The question is what this uniqueness is.

The Jews are special because they were on a spiritual height in the past. This is the group that came out of Babylon together with Abraham. All the Babylonians are called Yehudi (Jews), which stems from the Hebrew word “Yichud” – “unity.” The word “עברים – Hebrews” stems from the word “עבר –  moved,” which refers to those who have crossed to the other side, to the altruistic side. Israel are those who have an intention Yashar-El, straight to the Creator. This means that all the names that relate to this nation stem from its spiritual ascent.

When the nation was on a spiritual height it overcame its ego and then according to the thought of creation underwent two breakings—the destruction of the First and Second Temples and accordingly the shattering of the vessels, of HGT and NHYM. After the final shattering, the nation was exiled for the last time, and now it has to ascend.

Because the Jews were on a spiritual level their ego naturally grew even more after the fall. They were so even before the fall, as it says in the Torah, that back in the time of the exile in Egypt this nation was as stubborn as a donkey. When they fell from their spiritual height they became even worse.

Of course they have changed greatly during the last two thousand years and have undergone terrible sufferings and accordingly underwent many changes, but they still have no idea whatsoever what the wisdom of Kabbalah is and what the method which is their spiritual legacy means. They are totally indifferent to it.

This is the nation that is in the worst state of all the other nations because it carries the Reshimo (reminiscences) of its spiritual fall.

Accordingly there is a special atmosphere in Israel. How will a correction take place here? It is up to us. The correction will naturally take place here and partially in other nations, but only partially because people who have inherited the spiritual roots have to return to them and together with all those who awaken spiritually for different reasons to set an example for the whole world.

But I don’t want to get into why someone in South America or from Siberia, for example, begins to feel an attraction towards the spiritual ascent. There are good reasons for that. It either happens as a result of the mutual incorporation of the spiritual genes, the Reshimot, that occurred during the last two thousand years or because it turns out that a certain person belongs to the nation that used to be on a spiritual height.

Those who aspire for the Creator are called Israel. All our groups around the world belong to this group, but we also have to work with the local public. This isn’t easy, but we have to do it.

I wouldn’t say that it is easier for the Israeli nation to feel that “There is none else besides Him,” because their ego is much bigger than the others. It is much more difficult for the local population to come to this than any other public.

On the one hand, it is easier to lead any other nation up the spiritual levels, but on the other hand, the two opposite sides of the Jews nation are very prominent. It isn’t by chance that the Jews took an active part in every movement and every revolution that brought about changes in society, although only egoistic changes for the time being. Now the time has come for the spiritual changes.

I hope that we will see how all the differences between peoples and nations, cultures and civilizations gradually disappear and they all become the one nation of the Creator. This is what should happen.

The created being is a desire to enjoy created as something from nothing that develops from its root under the influence of the Light. If the desire is passive, which means that it doesn’t want to develop toward the Light and resemble it, the Light forces it to develop just as it happened in the four phases of the Direct Light.

Afterward, the desire becomes inclined to develop, which means that it restricts itself and builds a Masach (Screen) and grows as a result of its own initiative. The development of the desire to enjoy refers to the acquisition of the Masach.

The problem is that our desire with which we must ascend from the bottom to above this world is very small. We are impressed by the fact that it is ignited in order to attain the goal of creation, the upper force, but this is a first impression that quickly fades and disappears. Then, we can only continue as a result of a habit, of a routine, thanks to the fact that we have established corporeal frameworks that sustain and obligate us.

However, this actually increases our desire and our vessel. We must be armed with a desire that matches the same level to which we want to ascend in order to reach the first revelation and in order to discover every new level in general.

Where can we get such a desire? It is only from the Light that operates on us! The Light influences the desire that is something from nothing, that small black point, the tiny nucleus that develops it. This means that the problem is how to draw the influence of the Light.

If I draw the Light by myself, it means that “I awaken the dawn.” The Light that influences my desire to enjoy invokes a feeling of darkness in it. However, I discern the vessel for the revelation of the Light by that and wish for the darkness to illuminate like the Light.

This is the reason that I ask that my desire grow and I wait for the Light to influence me. I don’t care about the phases that will lead me there, and whether I remain in my desire to enjoy or acquire a desire to bestow, as long as I advance and draw the influence of the Light to me. This means that I awaken the dawn by myself and raise MAN, according to which the action is performed. This process is called “hastening time” (Achishena).

If I cannot awaken the influence of the Light on me in order to increase my desire, it develops naturally, in its time (Beito). The Light affects me in any case, but, because these changes are undesirable to me, they bring me sufferings. I am not happy about the darkness that is revealed to me. I cannot see the future vessel for the revelation of the Light in it.

This way of development is undesirable to the Creator, as well as to people. However, we still advance whether it is along the path of the Light or the path of suffering.

Therefore, when Abraham saw the good future that was prepared for mankind, for all of Babylon—for the small desire that was supposed to be filled with the Light of Infinity that is 620 times greater—he asked, “Where will we get the vessels and the desires from?” It is because it is impossible to receive the reward the Creator has promised us without a corrected desire.

Then, the Creator calmed him by saying, “Don’t worry. This desire will grow 620 times bigger during the 400 years of exile in Egypt.” This means that, on the way, people will go through a period in which they receive a big desire, either reluctantly or by hastening time, and then they will begin to work with it in order to bestow.

Today, everything is open and clear, and the phases we must undergo are well understood. We must make sure that we have the right influence of the environment that will be like a greenhouse for us that will hasten the growth of a big desire in us for the revelation of the Creator.

Baal HaSulam, Preface to the Wisdom of Kabbalah, Item 25: Thus, as long as not all five Kelim KHB TM have grown in a Partzuf, the Lights are not in their designated places. Moreover, they are in inverse relation: in the absence of the Kli of Malchut, the Light of Yechida is absent, and when the two Kelim, TM, are missing, Yechida and Haya are absent there, etc. This is so because in the Kelim, the Higher ones emerge first, and in the Lights, the last ones are the first to enter.

The opposite order between Lights and vessels is very confusing. According to this order, the more we advance, the greater the darkness we enter. It is because we need thicker vessels in order to discover greater and stronger Lights. Therefore, I need greater support from the group and need to attend the lessons regularly, which means to sustain myself by greater powers than before.

Usually, the more I advance, the more I understand and feel, and the more I discover, but at the same time, I find myself in greater darkness since that’s the way it always is: greater Lights require thicker vessels.

You will also find that each new Light that reenters dresses only in the Kli of Keter. This is so because the receiver must receive in its purest Kli, the Kli of Keter.

For this reason, upon reception of each new Light, the Lights that are already dressed in the Partzuf must descend one degree from their place. For example, when the Light of Ruach enters, the Light of Nefesh must descend from the Kli of Keter to the Kli of Hochma…

We must make an additional effort in the vessel by the darkness that we discover and its correction. Thus, the vessel of Hochma is added to the vessel of Keter, and then the Light of Nefesh that was in the vessel of Keter descends to the vessel of Hochma and the Light of Ruach enters the vessel of Keter. The difference between the Light of Nefesh and the Light of Ruach is very large. It is a new world, a new attainment, a new feeling that never has been felt before.

The perception of reality is upgraded each time. Reality seems new and different. The upper force is revealed more in some new form, and the world, the general vessel, seems new. Every slight shock in the spiritual world summons a change in the whole integral system, and it is, therefore, very meaningful whether one is in Nefesh of Keter or in Ruach of Keter.

Question: In an atmosphere of complete disconnection and lack of understanding, how can we convey the law of love for others to people?

Answer: The same state of disconnection occurred at the time of receiving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. Before that, the people of Israel came out of Egypt, where Pharaoh, the evil that separates us, was revealed.

We found ourselves in terrible darkness, passing through the “49 Gates of Impurity.” That is why we were rewarded the revelation of the force of unity, the Light of the Torah.

It is said that the advantage of light is known from the darkness. So today, when no one considers others and everyone hates each other, the light of the Torah is revealed to us.

Question: Why is this light hidden from us?

Answer: The light is hidden because we do not use it. The evil force is revealed to us through our egoism and desires, and the force of good has no place to be revealed. Let’s begin to perform good actions, bringing the force of good from concealment, and we will suddenly find out that we have two forces: the plus and the minus, the good and evil.

We will be able to balance these two forces and live in a world where we will become the masters of everything we do. The world will be opened before us.

Question: What would you like to wish the people of Israel on the holiday of the giving of the Torah (Shavuot)?

Answer: I would like to wish that we all understand that we have been given the Torah. We need to recall every day that we were given the Torah and that we must receive it. It is the only thing that we lack. This is not about religious traditions but about the method of correction, which allows every person to correct himself and attain love for others.

Question: Why must we receive the Torah every year during the holiday of Shavuot if we already received it at Mt Sinai?

Answer: It isn’t a physical action and about being physically at the foot of Mt. Sinai. We are told that a person should see himself as if he is coming out of Egypt every day. He must hear the Ten Commandments every day as if he is receiving them over and over again. It is because our ego, our desire to receive, is renewed every day. In contrast to this, we continuously must awaken the desire to bestow, the power of love. This is the reason that the Torah is given to us on a daily basis.

Now, however, we are in exile, which means that we don’t feel the good force which is concealed from us. We only can reveal it through the wisdom of Kabbalah, which was also intentionally concealed until not too long ago.

Question: How is the Torah related to the wisdom of Kabbalah?

Answer: The wisdom of Kabbalah is called the wisdom of truth, the wisdom of the Light, since it is actually through this wisdom that we can attain the force of goodness, the force of love and bestowal, and fulfill the mutual guarantee and unity between us. We have been trying to do that for decades in the state of Israel, but things are getting worse and worse. We already have reached a point in which the situation is unbearable.

The wisdom of Kabbalah, on the other hand, reveals to us the force of goodness, the force of love, that ties us together and allows us to use it. We begin to feel how we must balance evil wherever it is revealed by the force of goodness. Then, we have two forces by which we can advance in the right direction to unity and love, and can develop in a good and wonderful manner.
