Question: Reincarnation is the growth of a soul. If the soul doesn’t have time to realize itself in the current incarnation, does it have to return to Earth in order to study again in the same class and then move to the next one? Is there reincarnation according to the wisdom of Kabbalah, and if yes, how does it happen?

Answer: In each of us born into this world there is a seed of a soul called a point in the heart. The heart is a person’s desire, inside of which there is often a completely unconscious, almost insensible urge for a person to reach his root.

The urge to reach one’s root pushes a person forward. Some people feel it more strongly and some less and there are those who don’t feel it at all, but everyone has a point in the heart.

A person who feels it begins to look for meaning in life because he really needs to reach the root from which this point descended like a star and settled in him. He has to go there, there is his home.

The point in the heart motivates a person by building the right and very precise yearning in him: he has to discover what he is living for during his lifetime. These people reach the wisdom of Kabbalah and fulfill this yearning of returning to their home, to their sources, and to their root.

This is what the wisdom of Kabbalah tells us about. Our mission in this life is to reach our root. If a person begins to work on himself and carries out this mission, he ends the cycle of his reincarnation.

If he stops along the way, he has to come back and to continue the correction in the next life until he reaches his root. This may take more than one lifetime.

A person in whom this desire is still silent simply returns to this world in order to accumulate the necessary amount of material sufferings that lead him to the question about the meaning of life, “Why am I suffering?” Then he begins to search.

Thus, we are either about to fulfill the point in the heart, in the middle of the way, or already in the process of fulfilling it.

Answer: It depends on the properties of the soul that are required for correction.

I don’t recommend intervening and engaging in genetic engineering to determine the gender of future children. We should not be doing that.

Anyway, you can’t fool the Creator. The gender of the child and his characteristics are determined by the general Kli (vessel) of the soul that needs to be connected into one.

Question: How is it possible to know exactly what my soul wants?

Answer: A person feels this when he begins to “hear.” While studying the wisdom of Kabbalah, he begins to feel that it is speaking about him. Something inside of him begins to happen, nothing more than this. It is not possible to work with the intellect here.

Question: Does that mean that logic will not help here at all?

Answer: The logic is very simple: You have encountered a method that creates a reaction within you that says this is right, but you don’t have egoistic, emotional, or intellectual evidence for this. After all, this is talking about the soul, about some kind of upper force that corrects you, reveals new possibilities for feeling that exist within you. All of this is too empyreal.

The soul is our desire to get fulfilled due to the correction and is connected with the desires of other people so that there are no barriers between them anymore.

This common desire is felt by us as one and is called the vessel of the soul. The feeling that we reveal in this common desire is called the Light of the soul or its fulfillment.

But we must sort our desires and fulfillments and always ensure that they are directed only to the mutual bestowal between us and from it to the general mutual bestowal to the Creator.

The vessel of the soul is constructed in such a way that all initial negative qualities remain in it, and the corrections are made above them. That revelation of the transgressions of egoism and their subsequent correction give us a sense of the depth of the connection between us.

We see in our world how in a family and in a friendship various problems arise constantly because we are egoists. And until our egoism is corrected by going through quarrels and conflicts and then correction, and more conflicts and more corrections, we can’t be sure that we are connected with each other.

Therefore, the gradual revelation of all the problems is necessary in order for us to correct ourselves continuously and to connect with each other.

At the same time, those who move forward feel the various problems and contradictions even more, so much so that they can’t cope with them. In this way the general system, the general soul, teaches them how to find the correct connection between each other and where they actually are.

And so on, until the very end! Only once all the transgressions are revealed and a unifed love is revealed above them, a person can be sure that he really is righteous. It is impossible to come to this state if he hasn’t revealed wicked in him.

The Creator reveals this in him; after all, there is nothing new, everything comes from the source of our souls. All the “crimes” are inside a person, and he is obliged to reveal this. The revelation happens in stages, not immediately, according to the qualities, abilities and relationship with the world that he is given. Here he must be in connection with the Creator, in gratitude to Him, and must cover everything with love.

A person is not given what he can’t handle. Evil is revealed only once the Creator gives a person certain internal and external circumstances so he can rise above the evil, overcome it, and cover it with love.

The most optimal situation is when ten people gather and through the correct use of the ego, between themselves they begin to build over-egoistic properties of connection above it. I emphasize: over-egoistic that is the opposite of egoism by using it in the opposite direction.

When they use it this way, in the opposite direction, a very interesting phenomenon happens among them. To the extent of their effort, not through suppression of the ego but through using it correctly, they create a property of love and connection above it.

They begin to feel that they lack the power that will help them rise above the egoism and use it correctly. They get this power from the depths of creation. In the unity between them, they suddenly discover a force in the center of the connection between them, like a whirlpool begins to be disclosed between them. But it doesn’t draw inward, instead it emits outwardly, and the Upper Light, the power of bestowal, reciprocal connection, love, goodness, and cooperation rise up from there.

It would be worthwhile to establish a social norm and example of daily exercise. This would make it easier for everyone. In the East, they begin the day with yoga, Tai Chi, and things like that. Every pose contributes to inner balance. Each nation has exercises that are appropriate for it. In the East it is yoga and so forth. In England there is soccer and boxing. Humans are systems built from many linked strata.

The study of the Torah is often perceived as a simple study of the book’s text. However, we need to understand what is written in these stories. There are four languages in the Torah: Pshat, Remez, Drush, and Sod (a simple narrative, allusion, allegory, and mystery)—four stages of understanding the material.

The text of the Torah can never be perceived in the ordinary sense as a historical narrative.

This is a code that we must decipher. It has four degrees of understanding and the deepest degree is the wisdom of Kabbalah. Through it we reach the truth, and therefore Kabbalah is called the true wisdom.

Each one can decipher this code, but in order to do it, he must change himself, develop and expand his mind and senses. Then he will discover what is actually written in the Torah.

There are four stages of presentation of the Torah, and each of them is an additional development with respect to the level where we are born and live in this world. The Torah doesn’t imply that its text will be understood literally, as in any other book. It expects that a person will change himself and understand the writing on a more internal level.

Imagine that a child reads a fairy tale with his mother, how a prince met a girl, fell in love with her, and took her to his palace. The son only receives very shallow, primitive information from this story, and a mother understands it more deeply and sees what really happened there because she is familiar with the nature of people. That is, each understands the story according to the level of his development.

First, we need to understand that it is necessary to develop a person so that he will understand the Torah. The Torah itself prepares us for the understanding of it, if we study it correctly. Advancing to the love of others, the great rule of the Torah, to the extent of the expansion of this love within ourselves, we learn to understand the Torah deeper and deeper.

We perceive the reality where we live in a wider, deeper, and more multi-faceted manner. Then we really see all four degrees in it.

Love for others begins with close friends and extends to the nation and then to the entire world. If the entire humanity becomes as close to me as my own children and myself, then from this feeling I can understand what the Torah says; there is no other way.

Question: Who develops whom? Does the Torah develop a person or does a person have to develop to understand the Torah?

Answer: A person can develop only through studying the “inner Torah,” in other words, Kabbalah.

Love for others reveals new feelings in us that allow us to exit ourselves. Now I want to draw everything to me and to investigate it within me, only for my own benefit. But if I go out and begin to love my neighbor, I feel the reality that is outside of me. It already doesn’t depend on my relation to it and how much I benefit from it. It is the way it is by itself, as if I don’t exist.

Reality is not refracted in my feelings and mind anymore. After all, once I exit my own egoistic perception, I acquire the feelings and mind of the general system that the Torah provides to me. These are the feelings and mind of the upper system, and with them I can feel and understand all of nature in its true form.

Thanks to this, I reach eternity and perfection inherent in nature. I don’t bring interferences to nature as before due to my limitations, stereotypes, incorrect understanding, and perception in the material senses and the mind that I acquired during the life in this generation.

It turns out that the Torah raises me to the degree of eternity and perfection. I even cease to depend on my body. The body can suddenly get sick and die, and I will stay in the same consciousness, in the same mind and feelings that I acquired. Since the Torah is eternal, it makes me an immortal person—an eternal entity that is called the soul.
