To Love or to Hate?

79.01Question: In the generally accepted understanding, love means indulging. How can we talk about loving one’s neighbor if I, in essence, am asking you to stop loving yourself, and this looks more like hatred? How do we get out of this paradox?

Answer: You do not have to stop loving yourself.

Question: But Rabash says that a person must come to self-hatred.

Answer: It will come gradually. After loving not only ten, but generally all people, you will find that you treat yourself with indifference.

Question: That is, you should not strive for hate?

Answer: Under no circumstances can there be any hatred at all.

Question: Some people initially dislike themselves. How should we approach them because they are right about something?

Answer: No, they are wrong. A person must love himself and love everyone else, compare his attitude toward himself with his attitude toward others, and try to make them similar.

Question: There is an approach that to love your neighbor as yourself, you must first love yourself. Is this right?

Answer: True, but the fact is that if you now reveal love for yourself, you will not have the strength to love your neighbor. Therefore, it is better to love your neighbor as yourself and then compare love for yourself with love for your neighbor.
