Thank you! This is how I feel. That my “reason” is all the rationalities that my “ego” tells me. If I were to follow the logic of my ego, that I should love this person more and hate that person more, or that because that person is hateful then I shouldn’t love him, etc. Then I would be like those who do not rise above it to love. I feel like faith above reason is understanding in my heart, that loving others is above and more important than listening to my ego tell me that there is a rationality in this world for not loving another person. Reason is what this corporeal world’s moral values are and what my egoistic moral views of the world are and loving despite the hatred in myself or in others and rising above it to get on with the work of loving one another. The bigger picture of a united world is more important than our petty egoistic desires. And this is faith above reason to me and rising above reason. Reason is not really reason as we see it in this world. It is our egoistic desires and self talk.
loving despite the hatred in myself or in others and rising above it to get on with the work of loving one another-this is ‘faith above reason” to me.
