Question: The material we study begins to take effect only when the light reaches a person, and then, naturally, all the sources begin to open: The Study of the Ten Sefirot, The Book of Zohar, and others. Does everything depend solely on the light?
Answer: Nothing depends on the light. Everything depends on your desire, ability, and understanding of the influence of the light, which exists around you eternally and perfectly. I mean the desire to draw the light, work with it, and become like it. To draw the light means to be similar to the Creator.
Comment: You said that we should not try to intellectually understand the material we read since logical reasoning alone will never lead us to comprehension.
My Response: Never! You will never reach understanding logically. You must develop a different logic, additional perceptions. This does not mean rejecting anything corporeal, but rather, you must develop yourself.
You need to build additional systems of perception, analysis, synthesis, and decision-making within yourself that are similar to the spiritual ones. This is what it means to become like the Creator.
When you do this through Kabbalah, which was created solely for this purpose of developing additional capabilities in a person, then you begin to feel Him. The more you expand, construct new inner abilities, connections, perceptions, and analyses, the more you feel the Creator. Then you start to understand what Kabbalah speaks of, and Kabbalistic books become a description of what you personally experience.
A Kabbalistic book turns into a living manual for you. It tells you what to do.
Question: Suppose I travel to Paris as a tourist and see Notre Dame or some other landmark, which gives me certain impressions. How does this work in spirituality?
Answer: In spirituality, your impressions come from inner attainment: What is this object? What is this phenomenon? How does it affect me? How can I best perceive it? How is it connected to other phenomena? And so on.
Essentially, what does spirituality mean? It is the attainment of the Creator, the only thing in which we exist. To the extent that I develop myself, I begin to understand, feel, and study Him. But in studying, I can perceive Him only to the extent that I become like Him.
Therefore, all of Kabbalah is structured around reaching similarity to the Creator, around becoming equivalent to Him. This is the goal of everything we do. To attain complete equivalence with Him means to fully attain Him.
Understanding the causes and sources of all existence brings you immense fulfillment. It fills all your desires, needs, thoughts, intellect, and emotions. There is great pleasure in this knowledge and connection. Connection itself brings immense fulfillment because it is built on the connection of opposites, on resolving contradictions. Suddenly, they align and form a single, wonderful whole.

Question: What is the meaning of this game that the Creator has initiated?
Answer: The meaning of the Creator’s game is to create a creation equal to Himself, which will attain the state of the Creator, His level, and complete similarity to Him, and in this will be totally fulfilled since He instilled these desires in us.
We are meant to become like Him: to achieve absolute, mutual fulfillment of one another. Thus, the entire program of creation is realized within the framework known to us.
We rely on what the Kabbalists say, that the Creator has a need to create, a positive need, a desire to bestow. In our world, this can be likened to a woman’s desire to have children, which is an inner longing to care for and give. Naturally, in our world, this is an egoistic desire, but in the Creator, it is altruistic.
It stems from the nature of the good that does good. That is why He created beings—to lead them to goodness. This is what we can comprehend. One can philosophize endlessly about it, but Kabbalah teaches that it must be attained. For one who attains, everything becomes clear. And the one who merely philosophizes is left with thoughts that his fishes out from under his hair—nothing more.
That is why Kabbalah is categorically against it. It is a highly practical science meant to lead a person to receive the magnificent fulfillment that awaits him in the attainment of the Creator, in becoming like Him.
Comment: You speak about this so sadly.
My Response: On the contrary, it is something enormous. I simply do not know how to express it, there are no words for it. I am not sad. Quite the opposite, wonderful feelings arise in me that overwhelm me because what has been given to a person is a great thing, such a goal, such an opportunity!

Comment: To become rich and successful, one needs talent, effort, and luck. Italian scientists from the University of Catania created a computer model of 1,000 people, observed them for 40 years, and concluded that the most successful and wealthy individuals are not the smartest but the luckiest.
My Response: Of course, that is destiny. Nothing else! To control one’s destiny, one must be a Kabbalist, i.e., rise above fate to the force that governs it.
Destiny is what is predetermined for a person, and in Kabbalah, it is called the path of suffering. But one can rise above it and take control of their own fate.
Ultimately, everything that happens to you will still unfold according to the laws of nature, but how you use them depends on you. Because then you understand nature, you are connected to it, and therefore, you control your destiny.

Comment: You describe the spiritual world so beautifully that there is a terrible envy for the feelings you talk about.
My Response: You have no idea how it works! It all happens inside you! These ups and downs! It is as if you are flying and diving underwater, swimming into a grotto, and revealing some secrets there.
Envious, right? This is a very good quality! It helps you advance.
Comment: You describe these feelings so vividly!
My Response: This is why this light is called Taamim—tastes. You cannot even imagine what they are like!
They fill you with such bright colors, with a billion different shades that do not exist in our world. Moreover, each shade is drastically different from the other, even from the one next to it. In general, it is such a feeling, such interplay, such an inner life, with incredible colors and feelings!
And you never get tired of it; that is what is interesting. In our world, how much can you handle? The body gets tired of external influences. But when the filling comes from the inside, it keeps you going and constantly rejuvenates you. I recommend it.
Question: Do you penetrate inside this system through some letters?
Answer: There are no letters. When you look at the letters, you penetrate through and cause the influence of spiritual forces on you that supposedly stand behind the letters. But there are no letters. They are drawn in the back of your head, but in fact you are being influenced by forces. Your desire is already working with these forces.
You take no part in this. You have made it so that on one hand there is your desire, and on the other hand there is a force that affects it. You start perceiving everything this way with no buffering systems to retrieve or understand anything through. It is all in your “box.” You just have to remove it; it interferes with you.
