The Force that Is Harmony

294.3Question: Is the force that arranges the system into a state of harmony above harmony? Is it something above the state that a person sees as ideal?

Answer: The correct interaction of all parts of the system, when each part of it acts in such a way as to bring all the others to mutual equilibrium, is the desired result of development.

The force that a person must rely on in order to reach harmony is a common force that is outside the system. This is the only force. By itself, it is in harmony. It does not need to bring itself to balance or expect any influences in the future in order to be in harmony because it itself is harmony.

Question: What is the point of contact with this force? What should a person pay attention to?

Answer: To the fact that every time he must bring himself into the state of harmony as much as possible.

Today, It’s Spiritual Relationship or No Relationship

Kabbalah & Relationships

Tips on how to build successful relationships based on the spiritual principles and understanding of our nature

Relationships without a spiritual connection cannot survive.

Today it is practically impossible for a man and a woman to maintain a good relationship over time, unless there is a spiritual connection between them. It’s because their egos clash one against the other and destroy their connection. Today there are countless divorces, and most relationships fall apart, because our egos are “on fire,” and they only grow bigger with time. The beautiful verse, “Man, woman, and the Divine Presence between them”— simply does not exist in such couples.

So what does it take to create that spiritual connection between them, the only thing that can remedy their relationship? Having a spiritual connection means that both partners know the reason for their existence – to embark on the spiritual journey and attain the spiritual goal of life. Then they will have something that truly connects them, they will be in a mutual “cell” together, and the verse “Man, woman, and the Divine Presence between them” will really come true. In other words, they will feel the revelation of the Divine Presence —the Creator.

My Parents Are Dinosaurs

Kabbalah on Education

Kabbalah comes to the rescue to today’s education and parenting crisis

Unless children receive the answers they need, they disconnect from parents and live their own lives.

We often see that the younger generation is negative toward their parents and elders, they treat them with anger and respond with aggression to their advice. If we saw this anger as a cry for something deeper, we would understand that, perhaps they are right, because the older generation is not giving them what they need.

What do we give the younger generation? They seemingly have everything: snacks, television, or video games. But it is not what the new generation is asking for, not what it wants, not what it is destined for. They lack the answer to the question, “what am I living for?” and it bursts out in the form of violence and anger.

Why is there an older generation and a newer one? Elders need to provide the younger generation with information about life, to pass them wisdom of how to manage in life, to answer the fundamental questions of existence, “Where am I? What for? Why? What is my life all about?”

Unfortunately, more often than not, this does not happen. Most parents never know the answers to these questions themselves. Yet, does this fact free them of the obligation to provide their children with what they need? Of course, not. If parents don’t know themselves, they should also search. Children say, “They had me, they brought me to the world and it feels as if they threw me out here, without any help.” – this is what children feel inside.

Not receiving answers they need, children become disconnected and detached from their parents. A kid comes home, eats something and he has his own life. Father, mother and whatever is out there are like machines that supply their physical needs. Everything else that concerns their soul and other inner needs has nothing to do with them. Who are these people? Dinosaurs or robots around the house that serve him. This is exactly how parents seem to children.

Can it be different? Yes, but only if parents themselves receive a different education.

If the children see that their parents are interested in the essence of life, the reason we live for and how to attain it; if they see their parents develop day by day, children feel that their parents can provide them with answers to any question. They can explain what happens in the world and why, help them understand the crisis and all the problems, so they can relate to the world correctly. Parents can not only explain this but also engage them in this wisdom.

Sadly, if children see and feel inside how miserable their parents are, if they witness them getting divorced, taking drugs, or wasting their time, burning their life out, what kind of attitude can they have towards them?

Children today are very smart. That’s why parents themselves should understand that, for their children’s sake, they must educate themselves.

Conditions for Women’s Spiritual Advancement

Kabbalah & Women

An insight into women’s inner quest and spiritual development

Women need fewer conditions to advance spiritually than men do.

Kabbalah states that if a man wants to advance spiritually, he is obliged to marry and have a family. It is his responsibility to fulfill these obligations. Otherwise, he cannot advance spiritually.

A woman, on the other hand, can advance spiritually even if she is not a mother or a wife. Moreover, if she has the means for existence, she may also choose not to work. That is, in comparison to a man, a woman is relatively self-sufficient and can grow spiritually without many external conditions that apply to men. Thus, from the spiritual point of view, she is a considerably more perfect creature than a man.

A man has to overcome himself, to constantly convince himself that it’s worth staying on the spiritual path. He is less susceptible to spiritual advancement than a woman, who naturally aspires toward everything spiritual. She is ready to accept, feel and understand all of the spiritual transformations that are happening in her. She yearns for this.

The need for the spiritual ascent is manifested much more in a woman. She feels unsatisfied with our world, disappointed in family and work. A man looks for foolish passions, such as football, beer, friends and so on, and then gets lost in them. He lives pursuing false goals. A woman is unable do this. She perceives emptiness more internally and acutely. She cannot appease herself with such petty goals and temporary painkillers. More often she embarks on a spiritual search and comes to study Kabbalah.

We see this happening all over the world. More than half of the 1.3 million students studying within the framework of the Kabbalah Institute are women.

Influence of the Great Kabbalists

219.01Question: Did a big transformation take place in the world when Baal HaSulam died?

Answer: Yes, the world took a sharp turn in its development; it has greatly accelerated. I must say that after the death of Baal HaSulam in 1955, it was a period of the Second World War ending and rapid development beginning; the youth, the Beatles, etc., all this went forward.

The next stage took place at the beginning of the 90s: the collapse of the Soviet Union and many changes in the world. All this was preparation for the recognition of spiritual descent and the need for spiritual ascent.

Question: Why did one person influence the entire world so much?

Answer: It is not just one person. It is not a person at all. Why do you think that the world is individual people? These are not people, but a special egoistic mass that needs to be worked on.

A Kabbalist is also not an individual person; he is like a probe, a tube, that descends into our egoistic world and transfers special spiritual energy into it. Thanks to it, the world goes to its originally intended goal in the best way.

When a Kabbalist dies, all kinds of shifts for the worse take place in the world. The world is already on the path of not good, evil development, but it is development nevertheless. This is what happened abruptly, from 1955 onward. It is mutational development, a predatory plunder of nature, the American dream, and so on.

Then, from 1991, the collapse of the Soviet Union and the common market, in general, absolutely everything. To this day, it goes on and on.

But in our time there is an opportunity to soften the path and accelerate the correction of humanity; otherwise, it will catch up with us from behind and hit us with “sticks.”

Twenty Years Before The War

New Generation of Kabbalists

945Question: In addition to being attached to other Kabbalists, you must pass on the spiritual method to the general population. Is this chain necessary?

Answer: Yes, it is necessary. Beginning with the Ari and on, the development of Kabbalah is impossible without adding ever larger parts of humanity to us.

Previously, it was only for those who were once in spiritual attainment, that is, for the descendants of the Jews. But from the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century, the next stage began when Baal HaSulam started writing that all of humanity is one family.

Then the period of spiritual mixing of all desires, all souls, was totally completed. Therefore, today we cannot think only about some specific areas or population groups.

Question: Why is it important that you make contact with a large mass through your students? Why not directly through huge public lectures?

Answer: I am preparing students to continue this path of correction that goes from Adam through Abraham and so on. I want to give them the whole methodology in theory and practice so that they can continue it further.

How much longer can I teach and generally live on this earth? Well, five, ten more years, and then what? Therefore, I strive for them to learn more and more from me and gradually move forward.

Also, I physically cannot be in all parts of the world and participate in all events. So, I am very glad that my students all over the globe are engaged in Kabbalah and are doing well.

“Is God physical, metaphysical, abstract, conceptual, material or immaterial?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: Is God physical, metaphysical, abstract, conceptual, material or immaterial?

In the wisdom of Kabbalah, we study God in a practical fashion, in relation to us and how we attain it: as an upper force that creates us, the universe within and surrounding us, which rules over, sustains and guides it to a predetermined goal.

Similarly to how we refer to our parents as “mother and father” due to their specific relationship to us, when we attain a connection with the upper force, we attain a specific relationship that this force has toward us, and we cannot say anything about other possible attributes or relationships that this force might have. This is why we say in Kabbalah that we do not engage in the essence or the “self” of God, because we have no attainment in that aspect.

Therefore, with the methodology of Kabbalah, which is a practical and experimental research of ourselves and the surrounding reality, we undergo various changes upon ourselves until we can clearly perceive and sense God as an upper force that creates and sustains us, and which guides our development to a defined goal: our entering into balance—or in Kabbalistic language, “adhesion” (Heb. “Dvekut”)—with the Creator. We say “the Creator” because in Hebrew, the word for “Creator” (“Boreh”) stems from two words “come” (“Bo”) and “see” (“Reh”), i.e. we can only discuss what the Creator is once we attain this force through changes that we invite to ourselves using the Kabbalah method.

Therefore, we only characterize the upper force (the Creator, God) in relation to us people who attain it, as we can only analyze, sense and measure something that enters into our perception and sensation of reality. In the language of Kabbalah, such attainment is expressed as the reaction of the Kli (vessel/receptacle) to the light (the Creator’s quality) that fills it, while the light in and of itself is unattainable.

Therefore, by undergoing certain changes in ourselves and developing this Kli, we measure our reactions to it, and give definitions not to its qualities, but to our own reactions and perceptions. This is why Kabbalah is best defined as a science, that through applying its time-tested methodology upon ourselves, we attain results that past Kabbalists wrote about, which we can measure, repeat and reproduce. The knowledge of this science includes only what has been empirically verified.
