Question: Does fear help self-understanding?

Answer: Fear is a very much needed form of inner existence because egoism, which is the desire to enjoy, feels only emptiness or fulfillment, that is, fear or liberation.

Thus, fear is the most natural form of egoistic existence. In our world, there are over 800 kinds of fear. Through these kinds of fear, we study ourselves.

Question: Is there a method to rise above fear in Kabbalah?

Answer: Of course! What’s most important is to build the greatness of the Creator within, which will help you rise above fear. Fear will constantly pressure and help you in the left line, and you will rise above it in the right line. It advances you.

In other words, the ascent above egoism is an ascent above fear. In every moment in life, a person feels afraid even without realizing it. That is, feeling yourself is the realization of fear: “What is going on with me? What internal and external problems do I now have to hide, isolate, and save myself from?” Everything is balanced only on the awareness of fear.

Question: How can one balance this uncomfortable state?

Answer: It can be done only by rising above yourself: restriction (Tzimtzum)—screen (Masach)—reflected Light (Ohr Hozer).

Question: Today, humanity makes a lot of money on antidepressants that help us get rid of fears. Does it mean that fear constantly grows over time?

Answer: Humanity is now going through a very interesting period of mutual inclusion into each other with the help of virtual networks and so on. This will continue growing.

A person will have many problems, fears, and anxieties, because by becoming included into each other through this mechanism, each one brings his fear to others. By doing so, we correct many things in each other.

The condition that only love of people leads to love of the Creator repels. Everyone agrees to love the Creator as it benefits the ego to be in good relations with the Creator; it doesn’t obligate anything. This is why it is accepted in all religions, and it increases egoism.

Genuine love can be built only on hate. These two senses, like the poles of our life, create a field within which the pulse of life beats.

-How to justify a betrayal?
-It is written: “Do not judge until you walk in another’s shoes and feel his condition.
Bring yourself into him, with all his inner properties, into his state of being—and then you will see if he was able to act otherwise or not.

In bestowal, enjoyment depends on the significance of the receiver. Therefore, we must constantly increase the receiver’s greatness. In that case, we will view our bestowal as reception. Our desire becomes satisfied with the Creator’s greatness, which depends solely on us.

Naturally, the desires to enjoy receiving pleasure are growing, unlike the desires to enjoy bestowal. Bestowal contains great pleasures, for they are defined by the greatness of the Creator, Whom we bestow to. To increase the value of the Creator’s greatness depends on the group.

I reached the zero point when the friend and I are equally important to me. But the friend must be more vital to me (like a baby for a mother). Otherwise, it is impossible to reveal the Creator. The friends are a vessel in which I find the Creator.

Do I regret that my heart is deaf to the friends? Do I repent this because I’m not moving forth or because I am not assisting them? Even so, my awareness of my indifference is the starting point and the cause of advancement. Now we only need to increase this awareness.

At the inanimate, vegetative, and animal level, we love self-gratification—food, sex, family. At the human level, we take pleasure in the value and significance of money, recognition, and knowledge. Thus we advance towards the higher values—to the point in the heart.

The attempt to unite the #EU revealed its disunity. The crisis can be resolved through replacing the formal union by drawing people closer together. This can be achieved by training them in the spirit of unity. The world needs this example!

Is it possible to say that laughter unites people?

Answer: Laughter in our world is an expression of satisfaction, which can be egoistic—sarcastic, spiteful, and completely unkind—because egoism manifests itself in a simple, undisguised form.

Laughter is more a manifestation of the joy of egoism.

Question: What are the roots of laughter?

Answer: Self-pleasure. Self-satisfaction. As a rule, I would say that everything I see is spiteful.

Question: Is there a more elevated state, good laughter?

Answer: Good laughter in Kabbalah is based on understanding, on revealing its opposition to the Creator. However, a person simultaneously understands how he can get out of it. As Sarah said at the birth of Isaac: “The Creator made me laugh.” This is already a high level.

At the same time, something very kind, good, and joyous is manifested, which is based on the complete impossibility of a phenomenon. Therefore, laughter is a combination of two opposites.

Goodness and kindness can emerge only from the evil, harmful, and dark.
