“Who Are Better Managers: Men Or Women?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “Who are better managers: men or women?“

There is a saying that states, men change the world, while women improve it.

Women indeed organize the planet. The natural inclination of a female is to make everything as calm and comfortable as if it is at home.

The case is different for men.

Men need official recognition of their power. It is more intrinsic for men to push through boundaries, induce changes, and sometimes engage in extreme methods.

Women, as a rule, operate differently. In terms of the female desire for stability, women are better suited to manage the world. However, if we want to reach balanced and continuous development, both males and females should engage in management.

The perfect balance between the two different approaches can be observed in a family, where the wife commands in an indirect manner, and the husband carries out the commands. This is what said in the Torah: “Whatever Sarah tells you, do as she says” (Gen. 21:12).

As far as I’m concerned, I would place women in all leading positions, even in the military, except for hard army execution. However, in our current conditions, everything depends on the environment’s needs. If there is an understanding that for a particular purpose, either a male or a female manager is preferable, then the environment brings such a need to fruition.

A question that envelops the question about men or women being better managers is: Can we make the workplace function as a perfectly balanced family?

It would be complicated for today’s mixed teams. To make it work, we need a group of wise people who understand male and female natures and can guide the teams in terms of how to overcome their personal gender relations, so they could work neither as men nor as women, but according to a middle line for a common goal.

The middle line is the most effective and correct cooperation between male and female forces. Also, working in the middle line is not one-time execution. It is an ongoing process that we constantly have to work on.

The personnel group would need one or two people, or even better, a designated couple who will constantly maintain balance between male and female approaches among group relations.

Realizing the nature of both men and women, fitting them into a perfect middle line, where women remain women and men remain men, but together they rise above their natural qualities, means building a completely new balanced social construct.

Therefore, we have no need to measure whether men or women are better managers, but we should learn how to create the middle line by choosing a correct combination of our actions.

“Is There A Cure For Cancer?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “Is there a cure for cancer?“

The human body is a complete interconnected system operating according to integral laws of nature: every cell consumes only what is needed for its useful functioning within the system of tissues and organs, and exists to sustain the entire body. If a single cell starts functioning to benefit itself alone, it becomes cancerous.

Cancer is a body within the body. Due to the enormous growth of their “ego,” cancerous cells separate from the body’s other cells, start seeing them as enemies, as foreign bodies that need to be attacked and devoured.

Cancerous cells can form a separate kind of society within the human body. They can communicate and cooperate in their own way to enslave normal cells and create metastases.

They have no sensation of the human organism as a necessary environment for their existence, and thus reject and destroy it, and in the worse scenario, die together with the body due to lacking a habitat.

So then we reach one of the pressing questions of our time: is there a cure for cancer?

Definitely. However, it lies beyond the realm of a separate individual human body.

Nature as a whole operates similarly to a single organism.

On nature’s inanimate, vegetative and animate levels, each and every one of its element has its dedicated role and input into the whole system.

Our society also consists of individual “cells,” i.e., people who are brought together into different social structures.

Unfortunately, unlike nature’s other levels, we humans have a very “cancerous” attitude toward one another, and the environment we live in.

What is the risk?

As soon as we start thinking only about ourselves, our system starts slowly becoming “impressed” by our egoistic thoughts and desires.

This impression spreads over structures influencing other levels of nature and our physical bodies.

Unconscious of nature as our home, in a constant run for personal pleasure, like the selfish cancerous cells, we humans basically destroy our common environment for existence, forming a cancerous tumor on the body of the planet.

When the cancerous growth of a selfish attitude spreads beyond a certain limit, humanity starts consuming itself.

What is the optimal way to fight cancer on both levels: the human body and society in general?

The problem can be solved on the level of connection among each other.

Being unconscious about our “cancerous” attitudes to each other deprives us of the opportunity to deal with them.

However, if we rise to a level higher than our usual relations and reactions, we will be able to see a more complete picture of reality, and thus solve myriad problems, including cancer, comprehensively.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, when we understand our egoistic nature and apply efforts to rise above it by building positive connections, we will step into a new level of perception of reality.

As soon as human relations become mutual, kind, benevolent, and we all unite into one complete system, the world will become balanced, and there will be no room for cancer on any level.

It is as written, “And a wolf shall live with a lamb, and a leopard shall lie with a kid; and a calf and a lion cub and a fatling [shall lie] together, and a small child shall lead them” (Isaiah 11:6).

laitman_614Question: After I attain the purpose of creation and read the script of the director of my life, the Creator, could I become bored and uninterested in life?

Answer: Do not worry. You cannot even imagine what will open before you. Such heights, voids, scenes, and opportunities! This is not our world at all. So, try to get out of here as soon as possible. There is nothing worse than this world.

Question: What does it mean that I feel a friend? Do I understand him or do I sense his desires? And how will I feel the Creator as my friend? Or are we talking about other notions here?

Answer: You will start feeling both the friends and the Creator much closer, better, and sharper than now.

Question: You said during the last lesson that in order to reach freedom, one needs to attain the middle part of Tifferet. Now you say that the Creator is neither the left nor the right line. How can I connect into one the middle part of Tifferet and the fact that the Creator is the middle line?

Answer: You cannot. You will only get confused by this for now. It is better just to leave it. Put your knowledge aside. Now it is most important to understand what sensations we have to reach.

Question: Do we have a chance to attain spirituality by studying alone and not in tens?

Answer: You stand no chance of reaching spiritual attainment by studying alone. We see this from our development in today’s world.

Question: Is it possible to attain the Creator in a virtual ten?

Answer: Of course it is.

Question: Is a ten the ten Sefirot?

Answer: Yes, it is. The right ten in its correct state constitutes the ten Sefirot.

Question: Can it be said that the Creator wants to give us everything, and we can receive only what we are ready to give back?

Answer: Of course.

Question: If I have no friends, much less ten friends, and as you said without them it is impossible to advance, should I purposely search for them?

Answer: There must be at least two.

Question: Why do we have doubts regarding certain choices in our world? Why do we constantly doubt?

Answer: Doubts are needed so that we correctly organize ourselves.

Question: Where do the efforts to unite accumulate?

Answer: They accumulate around the heart and form the general heart, a sack around the heart.

Question: Regarding the light that we need to receive, what kind of light do you mean?

Answer: I mean the property of bestowal called “the light” or “the Creator” or “the upper positive force.”

Question: Does the revelation of the Creator and crossing of the barrier (Machsom) occur in the whole ten or perhaps in some of the friends?

Answer: It could happen only with some of the friends, in different qualities, in different aspects, not necessarily with everyone together. It is because a ten is something different for each person.

Attainment is still individual, although it happens through unification with others.

Question: Is our advancement toward the group always associated with the sinusoid: plus – minus, falls – ascents? Can it be said that my ascent to the next, higher spiritual degree is always associated with certain, say, spiritual labor pains, when a person exists in pitch darkness, emptiness? Or can one experience the feeling of happiness and joy?

Answer: You said everything correctly, I have nothing to add. Well done!

“Do We Have Predestined Fates?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “Do we have predestined fates?“

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, everything is predetermined.

Nature is a network of fixed laws that cascade serially from a source, extending to this lowest of worlds where we live.

Nothing happens by chance. Everything takes place according to nature’s laws.

Our problem is that we don’t know the laws of nature. We have no idea what will happen in the next moment, and we behave accordingly.

However, while we lack perception of nature’s laws, we need to reach a state where everything is perceived, understood, revealed and open, where we clearly see the complete picture of nature and how nothing happens by chance.

The method of attaining the complete picture of nature’s laws is described in Kabbalistic texts, many of which date back thousands of years.

In terms of fate, it is a driving force. There is fate, but there is no chance. Fate is usually in relation to a situation, i.e., whether or not a certain situation will happen.

If we know nature’s laws, the program that runs our lives, then we know what needs to emerge from that program, and that nothing happens by chance.

Through the study of the wisdom of Kabbalah, we gain the understanding and sensation of the fundamental laws acting in reality.

The more we progress in our awareness of the network of forces acting in reality, the more we recognize the interconnected and interdependent system that binds us at our foundations. In the wisdom of Kabbalah, this system is called “Adam HaRishon.” Through our increasing awareness of that system, we reach increasing identification with the causal force that created and sustains all life, which in Kabbalah has many names, including “upper force,” “Creator,” “upper light,” “nature” and others.

When the system of Adam HaRishon becomes revealed, according to the amount of its revelation toward us, we gain knowledge of the past, present and future, as it all merges into a single picture.

“How Do You Get To Know Yourself?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “How do you get to know yourself?“

In principle, we have an innate need to get to know ourselves, but it is not very important to find out who we are now, because in our current state, we have our animal body with its small and compact instincts.

In other words, in our world, we have individual desires for food, sex, shelter and family, as well as social desires for money, honor, control and knowledge, and essentially, all these desires are aimed at self-benefit.

We discover who we really are when we rise above the intention for self-benefit, and with an intention to benefit others and the common whole we all share, attain the roots of our souls.

In the wisdom of Kabbalah, undergoing each change of intention is called conducting a “correction,” and we the method of Kabbalah guides us to carry out such corrections until we reach the final, eternal and perfect state in existence called “final correction” (Heb. “Gmar Tikkun”).

By embarking on this journey inside ourselves and in connection with others and nature, we get to know our true selves. We then discover how we are very lofty spiritual entities, and we need only reveal that it is the case.

“Why Are Israelis So Smart?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “Why are Israelis so smart?“

Why are Israelis so smart? It is because the Israeli ego is the biggest one out of all the world’s nations.

Everyone has a desire to enjoy life, which acts on us subconsciously. Israelis also want to enjoy from the next world, here and now. That additional desire to enjoy is called “the point in the heart” in the wisdom of Kabbalah.

3,800 years ago, when the Israeli nation was founded, it was that additional desire that differentiated between all the ancient Babylonian residents and the group that Abraham named “Israel” (from “Yashar Kel,” i.e., “straight to God”). In other words, out of all the Babylonian residents, it was this people called “Israel” who desired to attain the meaning of life, a clear perception and sensation of the complete picture of reality, while living in this world.

How is it that the Israeli nation emerged in such a way?

Very simply, the ego in certain people grew and started demanding the reason for existence.

The ego’s growth makes us unhappier and more impatient. Why? It’s because an additional desire means an additional void, and it makes us restless until we find out why we’re alive.

The wisdom of Kabbalah was developed solely to answer the question about the meaning of life. Through the study of the wisdom, we discover our place in nature, as well as how and why nature works at its deepest levels. The wisdom of Kabbalah was developed by Abraham around 3,800 years specifically for anyone who hosts that additional desire to know why we’re alive.

Therefore, the Israeli ego is many times greater than the ego of others, i.e., of the nations of the world. There is nothing we can do about it. It is simply how the system of nature operates through us.

With this additional ego in the Israeli people, it becomes important to learn how to use it and direct it optimally and constructively, i.e., so that it would be aimed at the discovery of the meaning of life, and not that it would be used for self-serving motives at the expense of others.

The wisdom of Kabbalah is a method of guiding the desire for the meaning of life to the attainment of the higher reality, where we discover the reason for our existence, while we’re alive in this world.

“Is There A Treatment For The Coronavirus?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “Is there a treatment for the Coronavirus?“

It might sound very profound and not what people expect as the answer, but positive human connection is indeed the ultimate solution not only to the coronavirus, but to all problems we experience on personal, social, global and ecological scales.

Today, the coronavirus comes to show us that in the face of danger, we are all equal, and that there is no escape.

The wisdom of Kabbalah, which I have been studying and teaching for over 40 years, states that there is nothing more powerful than positive human connection.

As a practical example of the immense power of positive human connection in light of the coronavirus outbreak, after panic spread to various countries, including Israel, we hosted a World Kabbalah Convention in Tel Aviv.

Around 5,000 people from 78 countries attended for three days, studying, eating, singing, hugging and dancing together in one space. Moreover, a lot of the participants shared accommodation with each other. We had a medical team on board, and there were no reports of anyone getting sick for the entire convention.

The principle is very simple: We have nothing to be afraid of if we aim at unity.

Our positive connection is the “disinfectant” and the real treatment for any disease, because by connecting, we come closer to nature’s connected form and experience a certain extent of balance with nature. All diseases stem from our imbalance with nature, and so we need only learn how to use this tool of our connectedness to enter into more balance with nature, experiencing positive outcomes as a result.

If our thoughts and attitudes are positive toward one another, mutually considerate and caring, we then become immune to harmful forces. When we connect in a single thought and goal, “as one man with one heart,” we build a field of love and gain the strength to deal with any disease.

Blitz Of Kabbalah Tips – 12/15/19

laitman_283.01Question: What is love?

Answer: Love is the fusion of opposites.

Question: Is the hatred of separation the same as fear of the Creator?

Answer: No, but one flows from the other. The beginning of fear of the Creator arises from the hatred of separation.

Question: In the group we must go through all states. Whom does the speed of their passage depend on?

Answer: Only on you.

Question: Is it possible to say that if no desire receives fulfillment and a person feels intense suffering, according to the principle of opposites, then these desires will be completely filled and the pain and suffering will turn to joy and happiness?

Answer: Yes, but not if that person simply waits until he gets the filling. Rather he must work. But he will definitely receive fulfillment.

Question: If all humans on the face of the Earth are Jews and they all have a point in the heart, why is the pressure of the nations of the world aimed at the Jews as a people?

Answer: It is because the Jews are obligated to reveal the method of correction to humanity and they are not doing it. People instinctively feel that their suffering depends on this small group.

Question: If suffering is directed toward self-analysis, isn’t this an escape from suffering?

Answer: This is not an escape from suffering, but rather movement forward, i.e., the correct realization of suffering. One just has to know how to implement them so that they do not pass in vain.

Question: Being either in hatred or in love, can I come to something in between?

Answer: Yes, you absolutely can by elevating love above hatred and using hatred to constantly rise to love. But always with the help of both.

“Human Development: Nature Or Nurture?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “Human Development: Nature or Nurture?“

Human Development: Nature or Nurture? Every person has a “preset” of unchangeable inner properties, which are congenial qualities that nature inserted into us.

We receive these qualities from our parents, who received them from their parents, and so on all the way back through each one’s ancestral lineage.

These qualities include our character, emotions, initial attitude to the surrounding world, and they heavily influence our actions and reactions.

According to the wisdom of Kabbalah, the person’s unchangeable qualities stem from spiritual roots, and every one of us is a part of a common collective soul, which in Kabbalah is called “the soul of Adam HaRishon.”

We receive our inborn properties and conditions according to our place within this common soul.

The wisdom of Kabbalah teaches that the meaning of our lives is to regain consciousness of our place in this common soul by attaining the upper force of love and bestowal, called “the Creator.”

We humans have a completely opposite nature to the Creator’s: our nature is a desire to receive pleasure, while the Creator’s nature is to give pleasure, an attitude of pure love and bestowal.

Therefore, on one hand, we are egoistic beings who think solely out of personal benefit, while on the other hand, nature develops us to increasingly connect.

Thus, besides our inner qualities, we are given an external environment, a society that teaches us how to use these properties in a particular way, directing us to the attainment of the Creator, whether we realize it or not.

This is how nature nurtures us: by placing us inside the various environments that “sculpt” us, bringing us closer to understanding the purpose of our existence.

As we initially exist in a fixed interdependent system of nature, we are subjects to its laws. We can change neither the purpose of creation nor our inner qualities.

What, then, can we change?

What we can change is our environment.

Human development directly depends on the society that we build, on the positive attitude toward others that every one of us can show to our peers and children, and on each and every person’s personal example toward others, as well as the information we distribute through media channels.

The more that we can add awareness of who we are and what goal we pursue through society, the more we can benefit our lives, guiding ourselves to increasingly connect, and by doing so, reach balance and harmony with nature.

“Why Are We Alive?” (Quora)

Dr. Michael LaitmanMichael Laitman, On Quora: “Why are we alive?“

Why are we alive? Many people ask this question and it leads them to change their lives in one way or another.

I engaged in that question a lot. I studied bio-cybernetics, the systems of the human body, thinking that I could attain the meaning of life by doing so.

But I didn’t find its answer in that field.

I found it only many years later in the wisdom of Kabbalah.

The question about the meaning of life always disturbed me, because without knowing its answer, I had no view of why life is worth living. Today, I see the younger generation especially feeling this question, even if they don’t ask it with exactly those words. Finding no answer to this question makes our lives feel meaningless, and we feel a lot of negative phenomena as a result.

To find the meaning of life, we need to find the source from which life is created and develops.

The source of life is the upper force.

We can call the upper force “the Creator,” the “upper light,” “nature” and many other terms, but essentially, there is a source of life, and the question about life’s meaning and purpose stems from it. Ultimately, we exist in order to attain the meaning of our lives.

How we attain the meaning of life is another question.

How can we attain the source of life?

It is a question that humans specifically ask, and not all kinds of forms and organisms on the still, vegetative and animate levels of nature. Moreover, not all people ask this question, and those who do, ask it in different intensities.

Every generation feels an increasing need to answer the question about the meaning of life. Especially in our generation, this question is expressed by more and more people feeling depressed, stressed, lonely, anxious, and getting into drugs, extremism, and finding themselves in all kinds of other problems.

The wisdom of Kabbalah has emerged on a mass scale in our era precisely to answer the question about the meaning of life. It provides a method by which we can undergo self and social transformation in order to feel a new sense of reality, one that is complete, interconnected and full of goodness and happiness.

We attain the meaning of life when we attain a clear perception and sensation of the force that created and develops us. Such a new perception gives us a distinct understanding of why we were created. By attaining life’s source, we attain nothing less than eternity and perfection while we are alive in this world.
