Appeal To the Upper Partzuf

239Question: We are supposed to receive the light in order to pass it on to our friends. How should we correctly approach this understanding?

Answer: You must appeal to the upper Partzuf, the Partzuf of Adam Kadmon. It is He who grants you the ability to perform restriction (Tzimtzum), to establish a screen (Masach), to raise reflected light (Ohr Hozer), and to receive in order to bestow (Lekabel al Menat Lehashpia).

All these actions can only be carried out with His help. The upper Partzuf must perform these actions upon you after you express your desire for them to take place.

What is a “Round” Desire?

243.0141. What is a “circle” ?

If there is no discernment of above and below among the four phases of the will to receive, it is regarded as a circle (like an image of a corporeal circle, where there is no discernment of up or down). Because of that, the four phases are regarded as four concentric circles one inside the other, where it is impossible to distinguish up from down in them (The Study of the Ten Sefirot, Part 1, “Questions and Answers on the Meaning of Words”).

A “circle,” in which there is no difference between top and bottom, does not mean a desire that simply cannot be measured or evaluated, and therefore we cannot tell what is more important (higher) or less important (lower) in it. Nor does it mean a single, solid desire that contains no components and naturally has neither top nor bottom.

A “round desire” is a verified set of desires united by a special mutual connection in which they are completely equal and have neither “top” nor “bottom.” This is what is called a “circle” or a “sphere.”

But in relation to what can we measure and confirm that all these desires are equal and form a circle? Within this circle, there is one special point common to all these desires—the center of the circle. And in relation to this center, all the points (desires) are equal; therefore, they form a circle.

This center is not some additional, separate desire. It is their common unity, and they themselves create this center. And therefore, in relation to this center, each acts equally toward the others. Each one may possess his own strength and character, but in their relative form there remains complete equality—and that is why it is a circle.

This is precisely how a group is built in the form of a circle if each one acts with one hundred percent of his ability in relation to the common desire (the central point).

If all the desires of Malchut of the world of infinity, an infinite multitude of desires, unite together in one common center, and each applies proportionally equal effort, then the resulting form is a circle.

Work In the Ten

938.02Question: Regarding the ten, is the reflected light our annulment toward the friends?

Answer: Yes, it all starts with that.

Question: How do we transmit the light in the ten?

Answer: Only in the ten can you transmit the light to each other. We study this through our work in the ten.

The Only Means of Advancement

630.2The main thing in spiritual work is constant care for the environment. The greater and broader it appears in my eyes, the more strongly I will strive to attach it to myself, to absorb it within me.

Each time, these external circles will enter me more and more, like rolling waves, until I cover the entire Malchut of infinity, meaning that I will perceive everyone as myself. This entire immense desire (Kli) will become mine, and within this unified desire the light, the Creator, will be revealed.

Everything depends on the intensity of the mutual work between a person and the environment, their influence on one another, and their mutual demand. By this, we determine the speed of our advancement. A person cannot advance by himself. The environment is the only means. Each time a person draws closer to it and rises with its help.

It is also necessary to fully realize the importance of the environment. After all, the entire structure of desire (Kli) originates from the division into an inner and an outer part, and all our discernments also take place between the inner and the outer, between a person and the environment.

So far we have not yet revealed this and cannot understand where exactly the correction of desires takes place. But when, with the help of the environment, we attract enough surrounding light and ascend to spirituality, we definitely feel that true spiritual work begins—between me and the environment.

Clarification and correction take place only there.

Cover Hatred with Love

595.06Question: As soon as the lesson ends, I come out and hear the pettiness, dirt, and inconsistency of my friends’ thoughts, and then I notice it in myself. I pray, and even more hatred is revealed to me. How can I cover it with love?

Answer: You must ask the Creator. A person alone cannot do it. But your request is very good.

Ask the Creator to allow you to cover how you relate to your friends with love.

Don’t Let Go of the Creator Even for a Moment

942Question: During the convention, I tried to unite the entire large Kli in the center of my ten. And then I realized that everyone is also concentrating this force in the tens. How can we unite this force all together and raise one common prayer to the Creator?

Answer: Unite with each other more and more, ask the Creator for that. Don’t let go of Him so that He remains at the center of your intentions and desires and so that you would feel that the Creator is present in your striving for unification and makes our unity whole and powerful.

As soon as you reach this state, you will immediately feel your unity and the Creator within it as one spiritual whole.

You need nothing more; everything else will be done by the Creator.

Don’t Stop Your Efforts

938.03Question: Does a person feel the Creator’s response within the Kli of the ten or within the global Kli?

Answer: Generally, within the ten.

Question: But you said that the gates of sensing the Creator open precisely in the common heart of the global Kli. How can we correctly feel this from within the ten?

Answer: For that, you must draw closer to the friends in all the groups, in all the tens, to feel what state they are in, to try to be together with them, and to sense the barrier that stands in their way toward connection among them and adhesion with the Creator.

All of this gradually becomes organized within you. It already exists and is being revealed more and more, but you must keep striving.

Try to Correct Everything

238.01Comment: I see that many friends are internally unprepared for the convention since each still feels only himself. We are in a state where we can’t even understand where we are.

My Response: That means your task is to tune yourselves toward connection among you, no matter what!

From this, you will be ready for the convention. I assure you. But you must do it right now! Try to correct all of this, unite together into one great group, and everything will work out for you.

Attain the Upper Roots

530Question: How should the ten correctly build the Kli in order to draw the light of the ten Sefirot?

Answer: We study this in the course of practical work. By coming closer and integrating into one another, we must try to rise together.

In this way, each time we will attain higher and higher roots, ascending ever upward.
