A Gift of Torah

527.11Question: How does a person become one of those who love the Creator before He gives him or her the gift of Torah? After all, our efforts are all egoistic and not for the sake of the upper. How can I really show Him my love before it manifests itself in my heart?

Answer: The Creator sees in advance which way a person is going and how he is trying to develop the properties of bestowal in himself and thereby get closer to Him.

Question: Can I say that if I have a strong desire for the Creator, it is already a gift? He seems to be ahead of me giving me a gift of strength so I can make an effort.

Answer: Yes.

Question: How do we pay back the Creator for His attention to us?

Answer: By paying attention to Him through attention to friends.

Ask the Creator

936Question: How did the sages come to the conclusion based on the actions of the Creator that He wants to delight the creation? After all, we do not see this in the world.

How did they know that it is necessary to unite in order to feel it like a radio wave?

Answer: They received this from the Creator when they raised a prayer to Him and asked what they should do to be closer to Him so that He would be pleased with them. And He answered them. Try to connect with each other in the same way and ask Him, and He will answer you.

Think about your friends, connect them together and raise MAN from them to the Creator. In this MAN (request, prayer) include a request that He gathers you and gives you the opportunity to receive the answer from Him.

Question: What does our ability to catch this wave give to the world?

Answer: It brings our world closer to the Creator who wants to see you fully corrected.

The Light that Gives Confidence

276.02Question: There is a state when you feel yourself standing before the king, striving to please the Creator, and you know exactly what you are giving. But suddenly, external circumstances dampen these impressions, and fear of the Creator appears, a trepidation that something wrong was done. Where does this fear come from, and how can we overcome it?

Answer: Fear of the Creator arises from the sensation of the lack of surrounding light (Ohr Makif). It is necessary to be even more united with the ten, and then everything will definitely change. Everything will be revealed and you will get a sense of confidence. After all, the surrounding light supports us and gives us confidence. That is why it is so important.

You must constantly think about the mutual connection between you, and then you will receive this light through others.

Walk in the Ways of the Creator

528.03Question: Rabash’s article “Hear, My Son, Your Father’s Morals – 1” describes how a person can make a calculation in his mind and have some possibility of following the ways of the Creator. But the mind cannot see where we are headed. How can we see this commandment before fulfilling it?

Answer: You have to ask. You have to ask for everything, and then you will get a little bit of this, a little bit of that. Therefore, you will later have a picture of our world, of yourself, and where you are.

Question: What kind of opportunity is to walk in the ways of the Creator?

Answer: It is an opportunity to fulfill the laws of unification until we unite into the system of Adam HaRishon.

Question: So why does this relate to the calculation? When we perform an action of unification, should we associate it with payment for violations or some loss?

Answer: Yes, our scrutinies always consist of some kind of calculation: plus or minus, more or less, etc.

Question: What kind of payment should we expect?

Answer: That it will unite us all and lift us up.

Rewarded with Holiness

938.03Where there is labor, there is the Sitra Achra [other side], for the Sitra Achra is in deficiency (Baal HaSulam, Letter 55).

Question: What does it mean that we exert efforts in our connection with friends, and how will we be rewarded with holiness?

Answer: As long as we remain in egoistic desires, our efforts pass through a heavy barrier.

The moment we become bestowers efforts disappear and we joyfully and easily acquire the property of bestowal and remain in spirituality.

Here and now, in one hour, we can do much more than over a very long time thanks to many actions in the upper world.

The Opportunity to Rise Above

938.07Question: We say that if hatred toward a friend arises within you, you should outwardly show them love. But if a friend shows hatred toward me, is it my fault?

Answer: There is no fault of yours here! The Creator deliberately places you in this situation so that you can rise above it.

Question: What is the correct reaction to this situation?

Answer: Embrace your friend. He is giving you the opportunity to rise above.

Why should you take offense at him unless it concerns joint work in dissemination, translations, or other matters where disagreements arise for the sake of achieving a better result?

Otherwise, everything else is meant only for you to annul yourself.

If We Want to Draw Near the Creator

947Question: When I see my ten’s corporeal Hisarons (deficiencies), do I need to ask for their fulfillment for the sake of bestowal?

Answer: As for corporeal Hisarons, I do not know; you decide on this issue yourselves. In general we should feel what we lack from what we want to express in prayer to the Creator.

We need to understand that if we want to get closer to Him, we must strive for the property of bestowal. Therefore, asking for the property of bestowal so that you can be closer to the Creator, understand Him more, and thus bestow to Him is a serious prayer.

Question: I want to feel not only the Hisarons of the ten, but also that of the world Kli. How can I do this?

Answer: This is slowly forming in each of us. What the whole world Kli wants, in general, is in each of us; only it manifests gradually. So do not worry, this will happen soon.

Once you direct your feelings through the ten to the Creator, you will feel how your intentions become realized.

Question: As we unite in the group, we all work for the sake of bestowal. How can we increase our Kelim of bestowal and expand our Kli?

Answer: The more we think about how to turn to the Creator, the stronger our friends will be, and the more we will feel the desire to receive what we ask the Creator for.

Integrate into Friends’ Prayers

938.04Question: I see how my friends in the group are trying to create a collective prayer. How can I strengthen and support it?

Answer: Join them.

Question: What is the mechanism of this process?

Answer: Pay attention to what they are asking for. You can hear it. And you will see if you can join their requests. It is advisable to find reasons to join their prayer. It is very beneficial.

Question: To attune oneself to the Creator, do you need to pray for several hours? How can you shorten this time to always stay connected with the group and with the Creator?

Answer: It is not necessary to pray for a long time. The main thing is that you try to do it from the depth of your heart.

Justify the Friend

527Question: Can we say that a friend’s absence from a group meeting is a punishment for them? After all, we should judge ourselves, and it is more appropriate to justify our friends saying that they are fulfilling the Creator’s mission in the material world.

Answer: Yes if that is truly the case. But if it is not, then there is no need to lie.

Question: How can I truly know what the friend is doing and the reasons for their absence?

Answer: Then justify them.
