Being a person in this world, I am built to automatically and constantly think about myself: What is most profitable for me to do, and how? That is how the Creator created me, as it is written, “I created the evil origin.” I only reveal this evil more and more and I already understand that I think only about myself, and I decide that this is evil. And that is already a special state.

Now I want to turn it into goodness because I hate that egoism. Goodness means thinking about everything and feeling everything as if it belongs to me. It means relating to everyone as an inseparable part of me.

But if we erase this “as,” then only “I” will remain once again—just a more egoistic I! Suppose I were to suddenly reveal that all the people around me are my children and I love them infinitely, with my entire heart.

What did I accomplish by that? Now I truly treat everyone as myself, but egoistically! After all, I consider them my own. They are the same as me, like my baby.

Therefore, I say, “No! The hatred and separation stay!” And “Love will cover all sins.” Otherwise you won’t have the opposition, the screen, the force of overcoming. What will you overcome? I don’t overcome anything in relation to my baby—I am ready to give him everything because my natural love obligates me to act that way.

When we say that we want to perceive the whole world as ourselves, we do not understand what kind of opposites are juxtaposed here and what kind of approach is built. I do not eliminate the repulsion, but build love upon it.

That is why a very special state is being revealed in the world now. There are struggles, arguments, collisions, and differences being expressed all around. The whole world is in disarray and no one is able to live together with anyone in peace. And they won’t be able to. The quarrels will continue flaming up more and more until we understand that all of the sins have to become revealed and we have to unite above them.

We shouldn’t be afraid when they become revealed, but on the contrary: When they become revealed and show you your weakness, that is exactly when you will understand that you need help. You will see that you cannot do anything by yourself and that you need the Light that reforms.

That is why we are seeing so many differences, forces, and goals collide, and no one understands anyone. Above all of this, we have to build one, large umbrella—the mutual guarantee.

In the meantime, all of these differences and disagreements will remain on the inside. This is a miracle that we do not understand! But the miracle is that they remain together with the umbrella that is created out of love and mutual guarantee rising above them.

We love one another despite all of our contradictory differences. We are so different because that is how Malchut has been revealed from above. And I do not want to change another person. I only want to explain to him that it’s worthwhile for us to have a kind attitude to one another, and I suggest to him, “With both of us keeping our own position, let’s unite with each other above that.”

If we received such opposite qualities from above, from the Creator, and if we are so different by nature, then apparently, it is precisely by virtue of the difference between us that we can express the harmony of creation. It is impossible to play classical music on one musical instrument. There have to be different sounds: minor, major, all kinds of instruments, and everyone has to play together. This is what produces harmony and creativity.

Question: How can we learn to hate our evil even more than we do now?

Answer: We will never be able to bring ourselves to hate our own evil or to love goodness. This attitude can only be created within us by the Light that reforms. This is exactly the action it performs.

We don’t need anything besides hatred of evil. We will build everything else above that. And if we come to feel real hatred for evil, which we acquire from the Light, then we relate to that hatred correctly and immediately use it to build our attitude to the Light, to goodness.

I won’t sit there giving myself a guilt trip, wondering why I am so evil. This is not necessary at all because in that case I am simply inside of my ego. This is the wrong approach to using the revelation of evil—like a thief who gives himself a guilt trip for stealing once he has been caught because now he has to suffer for it.

An indication of the right development (with the help of the study, the group, and dissemination) is when I accept the revelation of evil with joy because this enables me to advance. There is a story about Rabbi Akiva who laughed when he saw how the Temple was being destroyed because he perceived this as a sign that the final correction is approaching.

After all, nothing is required besides the revelation of evil. If evil becomes revealed with the help of the right preparation, and if it is used correctly, then we immediately attain goodness.

All goodness is built upon the revelation of evil. Therefore, if a person doesn’t reveal evil like a trapped thief who did not manage to steal for the sake of his egoism, but instead reveals evil in his attitude to the friends and the Creator, then in this revelation of evil he immediately feels opposition—the One who revealed the evil, the Light that reforms. He immediately adheres to the Light and, based on the revelation of that evil, builds the commandment, meaning goes from the consequence to the cause.

People come out to the demonstrations because they don’t have anything. But all of the corrections can only come from the Light. Today we are already in a global, worldwide process where correction is impossible with the help of any government. They just don’t have any instruments to accomplish that.

The instruments of the new, global world come only with the Light that reforms. It is in our world that we have to realize all of the changes that Kabbalah talks about, and the world will feel and understand in practice how the upper Light influences it through us.

Without that Light, we won’t find a single solution to our problems. We will only draw ourselves into wars so that eventually this path would bring us to reveal the need for the Light. The first thing that the people holding strikes on the streets should be shouting is, “We demand the forces for our own correction!” That’s because uniting with one another is the only way we will receive everything we desire—whether you’re a mother with young children, a senior citizen, or a doctor.

The world has entered a crisis of such proportions that it has nothing to give you! For example, the demonstrators in Greece began with threats. But the government had nothing to give them, and it wasn’t hiding anything. The fact of the matter is that the developmental process is unfolding in order to convince people of the need to start the correction. That is why it is revealing the evil of our existence in this world to us. This is the essence of what is happening today.

The entire world must now understand several new principles. Firstly, we are all connected, and the crisis we are experiencing today is global. The world itself has become global, and we can only come out of the crisis by virtue of unity.

And there is nothing for us to demand from the government. We will receive everything only on the condition that we unite with one another. Just like being in a group, I can only receive its force if I lead it to unity.

The crisis has a higher cause: It is the Light influencing us and revealing the breaking between us. Therefore, not one person in our world has a solution to this crisis.

We solved all of the previous crises by finding a greater means to humor our growing egoistic desire. But today a completely different era has set in. Today the Light is revealing the lack of connection among us. And only be taking certain steps toward establishing that kind of connection will we be able to improve our state. Then every person will receive what he wished—but it will only happen through the attainment of connection, unification, integration, and mutuality.

Therefore, all of the forces that aspire to protectionism, division, and isolation, are aimed against correction, and there is nothing worse than that because by that they move humanity closer to war.

The only thing we need is the Light that reforms. A person who studies Kabbalah attracts the Light with his studies and work in the group, whereas a person who does not study has to attain some kind of understanding and awareness of the situation, the need for unity, mutual guarantee, and brotherhood. That is how we will bring ourselves to goodness.

Everyone has to achieve at least some kind of small understanding of this. But the primary work is incumbent upon those who actively attract the Light because the world receives it through them. Therefore, all of our students have to become even stronger and correct themselves even more so the Light we attract would influence everyone.

This is the predestination of a person called “Israel”—both those living in the state of Israel and all of our students all over the world. Every person whose point in the heart has awakened and who has joined our group, is obligated to think about this.

Soon, we will encounter resistance around the world. So far, we are not very noticeable, but resistance is awaiting us in the future. After all, the world does not understand that evil becomes revealed so that we would rise above it.

The world simply wants to eliminate this evil, while we, conversely, have to correct it. As it is said: “The greatest hero is the one who turns his hater to a friend.” Then, the serpent, the angel of death, becomes a holy angel.

For this reason we must have a creative attitude toward all the difficulties and opposition, searching for an opportunity to use them to build bestowal and eternal life. The entire difference between a broken world and a corrected one lies in the way we use our desire. We only need to change the intention from egoistic to altruistic.

We have to explain this to everyone by showing the essence of the breaking or, speaking in the modern language, the essence of the crisis. It is exclusively about the revelation of the evil of our nature. It can only be corrected by rising above the egoistic use of desires toward love. This is the only place where we have freedom of will, whereas people are completely not free in all other aspects.

The more consistent we are, the more confident and serious we will be, and the quicker we will understand that we are in the war of the Creator and Amalek that happens in all generations. Amalek is the entire essence of evil, our egoism, its true essence. The war happens “in all generations,” which means that it happens on every stage of our existence, from one reincarnation to another.

This is why it is very important to collect scientific data about the crisis from around the world. Scientists have nothing to do with Kabbalah, and we present the results of their studies that state that the crisis is essentially the result of human egoism. Only unity can serve as a remedy for this illness, the unity of all of us above egoism.

We will use accessible language to explain to the world the Kabbalistic view of the state of the affliction and the healthy state. Then, the only thing left will be to “prescribe the medication,” to complete the intermediary link. Mark the illness with the minus sign and the corrected state with the plus sign.

The problem is that people do not know what the solution is. To them, the remedy is a big question mark.

Today, it already is clear that our ego is the cause of the illness and that our recovery is connected to bestowal. So, when will we be able to come out of the crisis? It will be once we unite. Thus, our objective is to attain a mutual guarantee so that all of us would be soldered into one.

However, the world is avoiding this solution because egoism does not desire unity. It will not leave us until we start suffocating. It must be like this in order to bring us directly to the goal: the need to unite. Egoism keeps revealing its evil to us until it really becomes unbearable to us. Only then will we be able to escape our ego toward the quality of bestowal and then turn actual egoism into bestowal.

The origins of our spiritual path lie in the breaking. We must regard our egoism, the alienation and hatred between us, as the right preliminary foundation for correction.

When Rabbi Akiva saw barren ground in place of the Temple, he laughed and rejoiced. He was the wisest man of his generation, a great Kabbalist. He was asked how he could rejoice at the collapse of sanctity as the aspiration for bestowal had been vanquished, and the principle of love thy neighbor as thyself had been desecrated. Could the collapse of all hopes really be a reason for joy?

He responded: “I have never believed, never known, and never felt that we will be able to attain the general correction. But now, once our spiritual structure has been destroyed, once the love that reigned among us has been broken, and the people have fallen into unfounded hatred, I am convinced that this final breaking will lead to our general correction, complete redemption.”

This is why everything that is being revealed to us every moment of our lives is the breaking we will need to correct. No matter what happens to me, from the core issues of life to insignificant things in the family or at work, in all that happens within me, with my well-being, relationships with relatives, friends, people, and the world, in all of reality, everything only becomes revealed for the purpose of correction.

Every time, a new image is sketched before me that delves deeper into my egoism. In this image, I must see the result of the constant influence of the Light that essentially, activates increasingly deeper layers within me.

We perceive the world in our ego, and this is why we need to correct it. So, what is this correction? It brings unity to people. Especially now, when the entire world is beginning to realize the evil of the current state, we help them feel and understand that “evil” is our evil inclination.

Our egoism is the cause of everything bad. We see this in the things that are happening. Unable to bring the world to order, people are destroying it, ruining themselves, breaking relationships, and destroying nature. We are unable to move toward goodness and make a good life with the evil that is concealed in us.

The crisis is becoming more acute every day. In other words, we are discovering that our egoism is destroying everything and is not letting us normalize, balance, and improve our lives. On the other hand, we must understand that it is guiding us forward the right way and helps us head toward correction and goodness. It’s similar to how a manifested illness shows us how to treat it.

As we realize this, we must be grateful to our egoism and love it for showing us the place that needs correction. It is written that Pharaoh brought the sons of Israel closer to the Creator. He began to pressure them, and at the end, they had to escape Egypt. Otherwise, they would have stayed there.

This is why it is written: “Come unto Pharaoh for I have hardened his heart.” There are two opposites here, and we must not forget about it. No matter the evil that you encounter, instead of destroying it, you need to correct it.

Suffering, sorrow, the level of the breaking have to become revealed. However, it can either become revealed directly as is, without any sweetening from the Light’s end, or it can come together with the realization of its necessity, when you wait for it like a sick person going to a doctor’s visit. Even though he may be afraid that he will be diagnosed with an illness, he still wishes to reveal it in order to receive the remedy.

Yet there are people who do not want to know about their illness, although that does not liberate them from their problems later on.

Therefore, we must always aspire in the right direction—toward unification and love, toward the understanding of the goal and plan of creation. By doing that, we enable the evil to become revealed faster! This means that “Israel accelerates the times,” meaning that I run forward before the rod catches up with me to hit me.

However, this is possible only by continuously receiving the importance of the goal and of revealing the evil. I call it evil purposefully, and not because I feel suffering in it. I don’t care how I feel. The most important thing is for the evil to become revealed in relation to the goodness that awaits me up ahead that is called bestowal, love.

If I reveal layers of egoism, suffering in this form, then I will go through all of its phases (0,1,2,3) until the last stage—4, where I will understand that everything is built upon the revelation of the left side. After all, only by revealing our empty desires can we reveal the true reality, in which we already exist.

From the initial state where all the souls were together (Σ), we transitioned to the world of the breaking, and then fell into our world. Then, after the development of egoism and the mutual inclusion of all of its parts, we reached a turning point (1995), when we need to start correcting our ego to return to the initial state.

However, if the first state was created by the Light, the Creator, we create the final state ourselves. There is a big difference here: We become similar to the Light, the Creator. This is the purpose of creation.

We are born without any self-awareness, like a drop of semen in the womb that has not become anything yet. Then we go through a preparation period, acquire the power of good (+) and evil (–), and thanks to these forces can develop on the spiritual path.

Everyone is conducting his own inner war, and together we conduct wars in society, humanity, until we reveal the truth by advancing in the middle line. At the same time, both the plus and the minus make up one whole in us. The minus is the forces of our egoism, and the plus is the forces of Light within us. This way we advance.

We must conduct this difficult work consciously and sensibly. Essentially, this is what we have to do. After all, we must return to the initial state, reveal it deep within us. To do this, we become wiser, more sensitive, and more evolved.

Starting with the current state, we begin to sink deep within us: the worlds of Assiya, Yetzira, Beria, Atzilut, and Adam Kadmon, and at the end we attain the world of Infinity (∞). Our main achievement is the realization of our own evil.

We attain everything in our ego. As we direct it towards bestowal, we keep sinking deeper and reveal the upper worlds in it, until all of it, the entire Malchut of the world of Infinity which we had in the initial state, transforms itself to have the intention to bestow. This way we go through the second state, which includes our entire path, and reach the third state.

As Baal HaSulam writes, the method of Kabbalah allows us to reveal the evil, egoism, within us. As we correct it, we sink deeper, and there we reveal all the worlds, the entire spiritual reality. After all, the Creator did not create anything except for the receiving desire. This desire took on an egoistic form though the breaking, and now we need to correct it into bestowal.

Today we feel like we exist in a miserable, dark, and limited reality. Being opposite to the Light, we can perceive only it. We are like a drop of semen that has no idea what will become of it.

However, as we evoke the Light to develop us and change our receiving desire to bestowal, we attain it, the Creator, according to the law of equivalence of form, until our desire and the Light become similar to one another.

The very concepts of globalization, integration, unity of the word, and the globalization era are metaphysical, spiritual, and virtual, something you can’t see or “touch.” These qualities are beyond what we commonly regard as the material world.

Where and who can show me the action of these qualities, forces, and processes in our world? Even though we are talking about the global world, its reality, and the global processes in it, it is still felt more as a virtual world. After all, it is not clearly incarnated in any actual reality. In our imagination, we build its virtual image, possibly idealizing it, connecting utopia with reality and supposition. But how justified is this approach?

The fact of the matter is that we never build anything without having an image of the future. We have to imagine the future, but at the same time be guided by real premises related to the imagined picture. We have to take examples from nature, its globality and integrality, and build our future society according to them.

The entire complex of problems that has risen before humanity indicates the need to solve these problems conjointly. Today there is not a single problem that is local. Nature is pushing us to become aware of our total interdependence. The globalization that is being revealed is forcing us to suppress our national and regional interests, and to prefer the solution of the global, common problems first.

The need for integration for the sake of all humanity requires a constant dialogue among representatives of every country on an equal basis. In a single organism, all of the parts are equal. Every side presents the problems it deems necessary to solve and the importance of every problem is weighed conjointly, like in a family that discusses which problem should be solved first and in what order the others should be solved. Only by accepting the fact of the global interconnection as a primary condition will we develop the right approach to solving problems.

Otherwise, we will involuntarily slide down to war, which is a refusal to have a dialogue. These aren’t necessarily “hot” or even “cold” wars, but an unnoticeable, centralized, informational influence on people’s consciousness in a specific country with the aim of distorting their picture of the world, their traditional concepts and values. The sensation of this informational weapon’s effect can range from emotional discomfort and insecurity, to a disturbance of the basic infrastructure.

Of course, in any case, whether we develop along a good scenario or a bad one, we will still reach an integrally interconnected society because it is the goal of nature’s development. Humanity’s aspiration to unity is a natural expression of a living system. But this natural process cannot be accelerated artificially. It has to happen consciously and voluntarily because otherwise it will turn into a project that is forcefully executed by the authorities.

Therefore, the priority is people’s upbringing, enabling them to understand the new world in which we are finding ourselves today. Real power has to be built as a universal, planetary, informational, educational system, a kind of mass media. Precisely because the entire formation of the new society, indeed—of humanity, will take place through virtual channels, it is necessary to first solve the question of their proper use.

Question: How can I stop myself and avoid making mistakes when I know I am being guided by my feelings and am not acting well? And on the other hand, we have to fall in order to grow….

Answer: Indeed, “A righteous man falls and rises a thousand times.” Only by going through the experience of many descents and disappointments, great pain and errors that we have to pay for, do we finally reach the final conclusion and understanding that we have to rise above our egoistic nature. At the end, we understand that we will never be able to unite the mind and feelings together as long as we are inside of egoism.

This is the picture we are seeing in the world today in every country. Mentally everyone understands that we are entering a horrible crisis, but we cannot stop ourselves. Egoism pushes a person forward, ending up stronger than the mind, and therefore, man continues to act according to it.

He cannot do anything with himself. No matter how much we address the world and warn it, no one will hear us. But we are doing that only in order to show everyone that there is a method of correction, Kabbalah. Later, when facing the facts, man will become convinced in practice that he is stumbling upon problems at every corner, be it in economics, upbringing, or anything else. And from that he will understand that Kabbalah talks about correction. Otherwise, you can repeat the same thing a thousand times and no one will listen to you.

The world will not accept this solution until it reaches total despair and the understanding that its mind and feelings are like two poles that will never unite. People will keep making new mistakes. And as long as this happens, nothing will be able to help them. The only solution is to rise above our material mind and feelings for the sake of the spiritual goal. There you will be able to unite your mind and heart in the middle line, and then you will succeed. That’s because they will start working together in one bundle. The heart will understand!

But in our world this never happens and we are always forced to choose: either the heart or the mind. One or the other!

We become more drawn into the crisis with each passing day. Today a new turn of the crisis is starting, and soon it will become apparent. One blow, another, and another—and eventually man will understand. That is how Pharaoh, our will to enjoy, our ego, brings us closer to the Creator, forcing us to understand that we have to hide from him.

It’s as if Pharaoh knows that the sons of Israel will eventually run away from him. So why should he place himself under the blows? But that is how he is built—he brings himself to the blows. A person suffers, and he does not have any choice left but to run away from this force of evil.

Pharaoh is the opposite reflection of the Creator inside of us. The only question is: What proportions will he have to reach so we will decide to run away from him? This depends on the dissemination of Kabbalah, on people’s understanding, and our unification in the group.

The argument that modern technology would one day protect us from ill-health and distress and open up a world of leisure and, by implication greater happiness, is looking decidedly dated….

“Lead author, Dr. Catriona Morrison, from the University of Leeds, in the UK., found that high internet use is associated with depression. High internet use is frequently associated with gambling, interacting in social communities or viewing sexual content. According to Morrison, ‘the study reinforces the public speculation that over-engaging in websites that serve to replace normal social function might be linked to psychological disorders like depression and addiction.’”

My Comment: We mistakenly think that the Internet can replace communication. This is the very means that pulls us into loneliness and unnoticeably isolates each of us from others to such an extent that we no longer can communicate directly.

This condition will be worsening until the full realization of it as evil, and then, society will understand the need for a good open direct communication. Only it can eliminate depression!
