The approach of Kabbalah is highly scientific. However, we do not impose it; we just want to point out the obvious facts of the interconnected world that are impossible to ignore.

We will move on from these facts to the changes in human nature because now, by getting an integral education, people are beginning to think in terms of an integral system. Earlier, they saw it and perceived it through the prism of their egoism, “me and others,” whereas now, a person is gradually beginning to feel the world through a prism that absorbs all visible light. He does not focus on personal gain, but on the good of all humankind. His view is becoming general and his mind is acquiring a different way of thinking. His perception passes through everyone else.

An example could be the mistress of the house, a mother who takes care of her children, her husband, and the home, arranging everything. She looks at life and tomorrow not in connection with her personally, but in connection with her household. She sees the reality of today and tomorrow not out of herself, but out of them.

If a person gradually begins to look at the world in this manner, he rises to a new degree. A new system of perception of reality develops in him. He does not feel a reality within himself personally, egoistically, and individually, but he sees the way everyone else feels it.

In essence, this is the rule, “Love the other as yourself.” A person gradually approaches this state where he is not only in confrontation with humanity and in closeness with some individual people, but he begins feeling himself inside this “pot,” within humanity, within the general system.

Then his perception, view, and way of thinking and feeling change; his entire reality changes. He comes out of himself and reveals a new reality that he did not feel before, a new dimension in his new perception.

If humanity advances toward this intention, it will reach what we call the upper spiritual world. This is not just a name, but it has everything to do with perception and bestowal instead of self-reception.

Moreover, the word “bestowal” is not used in the regular sense. It is when I feel the commonality of all of us, and if I do not care about everyone, I do not get anything myself. Today we are beginning to understand this, albeit slowly.

It will cost us a lot of pain and effort, but if we introduce global education, people will start paying attention to various examples from movies, plays, novels, television programs, and stories that demonstrate that good and evil are considered only with respect to society. We are in a global system where we are experiencing a global process that is accompanied by changes which we can implement ourselves only on condition that we start developing a new kind of education.

I spoke about this at the World Spirit Forum in Arosa back in 2005. However, we still see that people are not ready for this, despite being incapable of escaping it, and even though they are already on the verge of disaster.

For example, a few months ago the USA national debt exceeded the country’s total resources. In other words, even if they sold everything they have, they still would not be able to meet their obligations. If they recognize collapse and declare bankruptcy, the world will fall after them. Therefore, the world is demanding, “Keep on playing. Continue printing money as if you have something to cover it with.”

These are the games we are playing. This is not the economy in the former, classical sense. We just keep moving further with our eyes closed, relying on chance, rather than udnertaking correction. We have no other alternative than an integral education, and we are already aware of this.

The economy is the language of our egoism. Our relationships are built on the principle of “you give to me, and I give to you,” on the system of maximum gain at the expense of others. It’s precisely in the language of economy that we communicate in our egoistic interactions because the economy is the essence of our egoistic unity.

We built it according to certain rules and because of it, we can exist. We are experiencing the crisis in this system first because the egoistic connections between us have reached the ultimate state, and it is no longer possible to live this way.

Therefore, under the circumstances, I appeal to people not even as a Kabbalist, but as an ordinary person who worries about the future of humanity. I do not need anything myself. I just urge people to look at what is in front of every one of us in equal measure.

I do not give home-grown advice. I do not suggest self-made theories, nor do I propose any new, special science. First of all, I say: Let us be guided only by science because it is equally recognized by everyone.

When we are talking about spiritual concepts, if there is no hatred in the beginning, there will be no love later on. It is written, “I created the evil inclination and I created the Torah as a spice because the Light in it returns one to the source.”

The good source is love. But it cannot be revealed unless evil, hatred, and rejection are disclosed first. We should get used to the fact that love and hatred are always revealed and work together.

This is why we discover both hatred and love in our society, and we should understand that one is impossible without the other. We are not perfect angels, preserved at the inanimate level, but people with all of our cruel egoism.

To the extent that you yearn to feel love, you will discover only greater hatred. That is the only way you will become worthy of “the exit from Egypt” and will come to “Mount Sinai.” The mountain of hatred, “Mount Sinai” is the result of our previous work.

The Tower of Babel is only the beginning; nothing was revealed there. Therefore, 20 generations from Adam HaRishon until Abraham, being the first generations of Kabbalists, are called the forefathers. This is only the initial preparation because a strong desire was not revealed there yet.

The first time that the desire was disclosed was in Babylon, which is where the science of Kabbalah originated. There was already a small mountain of hatred there: “The Tower of Babel” above which it was possible to rise. The science of Kabbalah, the science of connection, was born there, and people who were capable of connecting emerged there as well. Thus, is always revealed above hatred.

Therefore, there is no need to be afraid of the fact that the world today is revealing hatred. We just have to let it be revealed naturally and precede the blow with a remedy so that hatred will be revealed with understanding consciously. And we have to be confident in the fact that we have the precise instructions on how to use it correctly.

Or is this part of the Creator’s plans for us to realize the error of our egoism and take the opportunity to correct ourselves?

Answer: You have to rise above all of the negative feelings and try to see everyone as righteous men, justifying them by the fact that you are seeing everything inside of your egoism. All of this judging is happening precisely to enable your ascent.

Question: The correction to the crisis lies in unity because we were created as one whole, like the Creator. But in order to understand what is unity, what it is to be single like Him, meaning to understand the nature of the Creator, we were deliberately separated in order to unite through our own efforts and thereby attain Him, become like Him.

This explanation is clear. But what is the practical advantage of this correction – unification through mutual guarantee, over other methods?

Answer: Let me answer this way:
1. There is no other method to correct or come out of the global, universal, integral crisis. We won’t come out of it by attempting to get rid of the universal dependence of every person on everyone, but by finding the right behavioral system within this total dependence, with that system being the unification of everyone into one whole. In principle, everyone are already united by nature, but we have to become aware of that and readjust our social, political, and economic relationships and connections to suit the new conditions.

In the global, integral, systematic crisis, we can arrive at unification only by the method of mutual guarantee. There is no other method to improve our state in any regard. Nothing else will work in any country in the world because the crisis is the same everywhere.

2. Independence of the realization:
a) Using any other method of correction, change, or way out of the crisis, you depend on many inner and outer social, economic, and political factors. You have to hold negotiations with your partners and opponents, push your ideas through in legislature, and follow through with their execution. All of this renders any changes practically impossible because everyone are egoists and no one wants anyone else to succeed.

b) Because the crisis is integral, you depend on the whole world as a whole.

c) If you are a weak country, you have to carry out the political decisions and will of the powerful countries, which think about themselves and not about you.

d) You are inside constantly changing circumstances and therefore you are obligated to constantly change and make concessions. Thus, in the best case scenario, you end up realizing a small fraction of your plans.

3. The advantage of coming out of the crisis by the method of unity:
a) You do not depend on anyone.

b) You are generally met with a positive response from the population and voters.

c) You do not harm or bother anyone so no one openly objects to your statements, even though your political opponents are unhappy with you, just like they are with everyone besides themselves.

d) The only thing you need is to disseminate an idea, and you will quickly discover changes in society without having to go through the usual procedure of creating laws and executing them through legislature. You are free – free to act however you like without asking anyone’s advice or depending on anyone because you do not act in the egoistic dimension, but in the altruistic one.

Question: What do you think about the current events and the current tendency, and in particular, how do you feel about the events that have unraveled over the last couple of days in England and Chile?

Unfortunately, the whole world will soon be enveloped in a fire of chaos because there is no remedy for what’s happening, and no one will find it either. Why don’t you wait it out until people see that nothing helps, and will then agree to listen to you?

Many years ago, during his post as Great Britain’s PM, the historian Gordon Brown along with many other influential individuals said that the world is one. They understood that only the unification of all people will give this world the solution to all of its questions and crises. Why, then, didn’t they resolve these questions through unification, by introducing a new kind of upbringing and promulgating the mutual guarantee, as you are doing?

Answer: Throughout all of history, humanity was nudged forward by the egoism that developed individually within every one of us. We aspired to realize and fill it. Our entire existence amounted to this. But in our time nature is not guiding us to develop our egoism further because it has developed to the maximum and has been showing us its emptiness for 50 years now.

Our egoism has become interlinked and that is why we are revealing that we are interconnected. This is what we call “the global world.” In reality, it’s not the world, but us who have become global. And therefore, as scientists ascertain, we should not develop egoistically, but globally, meaning we should correct the connections between us.

That is where all of the world’s scientists came to a halt because no one in the world knows how to do that. And the more disorder surfaces in the world, the more it will signify that the world needs correction more urgently.

Once the world became integral and interconnected, it started being governed by two forces: not just the force of egoism, which pushes us from behind systematically, by nature’s program, the way it did throughout all of its history; but also by the force of attraction toward the goal – to our unified state. However, we have to compel this force to influence us similar to how a child would remain an animal if he did not aspire to become an adult.

The method of Kabbalah is intended to evoke upon us the influence of the force that aspires “forward,” toward unity. Otherwise we will be pressured only by the negative force “from behind,” which will continuously evoke greater global suffering, down to wars. That is why Kabbalah is being revealed precisely at this time. All Kabbalists wrote about this. For example, see Baal HaSulam’s articles “The Revelation of Godliness,” “Mutual Guarantee,” and “Peace in the World.”

Besides, we have to understand that the more suffering is expressed in the world under the influence of the negative force that pushes us forward, the more it indicates that the world needs a force pulling it forward so our movement forward, toward unification will not occur as a result of suffering that chases us on, but by the good path, the good force that sweeps us forward.

Because the nation of Israel was created based on the method of uniting people, according to the principle, “Love your neighbor as yourself,” therefore, even after falling from this moral level it retained an “altruistic gene” that can evoke a force that accelerates progress and sweeps people forward, toward unity. But if Israel does not evoke this force and the world moves toward its goal pressured by suffering, then the nations of the world are right to assert that the nation of Israel is the source of all of the suffering in the world.

Although this nation did not choose to be the conductor of the method of correction, it is unable to free itself from this mission. The suffering of the nations of the world will evoke such great pressure from their end and such fury at the nation of Israel that this will obligate Israel to become the leader in the world’s correction.

There are three stages before us. First of all, we need to realize the evil of our egoism (1). Realize it to such degree so that we want to rise above egoism, to attain the quality of Bina (2). And then we attain Keter (3), meaning we use our egoism for the sake of bestowal.

The first stage is the preparation period. Then, once we rise to the degree of Bina, we already perceive the spiritual world and become included in the world of Atzilut. Afterwards, we begin to raise all of our evil to the world of Atzilut, turning it into good, bestowal.

We are only able to realize all of these stages with the power of Light. It is written: “I created the evil inclination (our egoism), and I created the Torah because the Light in it reforms.” The problem is that humanity is unaware of the force intended to correct our egoism, and this is why people are very confused and do not know how to go on.

A critical time which will be followed by a wave of problems as serious as mass rioting, revolutions, and wars between nations and countries has arrived. Kabbalah warns that the situation can get to the point of a third and even a fourth world war. The suffering will continue to increase until humanity finds the method of correction, the remedy which can only come from the Light.

This is why the method of Kabbalah was revealed to people at the dawn of time, 5771 years ago, when egoism just started to appear in man. It has continued to develop gradually until our time, the stage when we are beginning to perceive our egoism as evil. And now, the few people who were developing this method of correction for us can finally present it as a cure.

It needs to be explained to humanity similar to the way a doctor explains an illness to his patient, telling him what illness he has, what the treatment will be, and how to become healthy again since there is a treatment. And if we hurry and present the world with the cure, people will not need to look for it under the pressure of problems and misery which will force them to find this only solution anyway.

After one person killed over seventy people in Norway, Norwegian television has prohibited cruelty and violence. Why are we only able to learn when things like this happen? Why can’t we do the right thing ahead of time? Are we really this clueless? Why do we create such an awful environment for our children and force them to learn through hostility and competition? Why do children’s games teach them to kill or profit as much as possible? Why don’t we give them the message of unity? After all, in reality we are only shooting ourselves; we are cutting the branch we are sitting on.

Will it take a Norwegian scenario or a similar situation of massive proportion that menaces a world war to wake us up? Is that the only way for us to understand that it is enough, that we cannot do this anymore? We still do not see real advancement. People are not becoming smarter. What other misfortunes are we waiting for? We cannot wait for them!

We need to go to the people now, be patient and good with them, as if we are speaking to a patient who doesn’t understand why he feels sick yet. The pain is only covering his eyes and ears a little more. We need to be gentle and understanding with him. Even if he is against it, even if he curses us and doesn’t want to hear anything, we still need to keep trying, searching for ways to approach him in a loving yet decisive way and explain to him that there is no other solution.

We do not negate any methods, we do not reject anything. At the end of the day, we do not oppose egoism directly, and this is why we do not plan on crushing any movement, approach, or party. It is impossible, and we don’t need to destroy these egoistic structures, the same way we don’t need to destroy the ego within us.

We only need to strive for unity above all disagreements. And then all the different egoistic forms in us and in the external world, cultural and all other differences will turn into bestowal, love, and unity. Everyone will bring his penny into this unity, not through coercion, but gently, in a positive way.

Question: Where do the rioters and pillagers in England and earlier – in France, get such a huge force of aggression?

Answer: For the first time in history, the young generation, along with the previous generation – their parents, both realize that the young generation will have a worse life than the previous. And moreover, it’s uncertain whether it will live at all and for how long.

People have always believed that “our children will be better off than we are.” Particularly from the middle of the 20th century on, the following generation lived much better than the previous. But this tendency ended with the completion of egoism’s growth and its closure into an integral system, which we do not correspond to. Therefore, we do not know how to live from here on.

An enormous feeling of uncertainty has emerged, which evokes feelings of fear and then aggression, and the willingness to make any actions just to bring what is happening to light. The solution to the problem lies in upbringing, meaning an explanation of the fact that if we become similar to nature, we become omnipotent like it.

Equivalence to nature means bringing our involuntary, egoistic unification to a voluntary, altruistic, mutual one, until we reach universal love. Inside that love, we will reveal our eternity and perfection, which are present in nature’s very foundation.

According to statistics, most of the demonstrators in Tel Aviv, as well as the organizers of the protest, belong to the middle and upper classes. Special research has been done on which layers of society populate these demonstrations and what the percentages are.

And the same thing is now happening in London. We think that people are coming out to the streets and raising havoc because they have nothing to eat. But that’s not the problem. Why has it become possible to incite them and agitate them to hold a revolution? It’s because the new generation does not feel that the future holds anything good for it. The tendency is for things to get worse. And this is the gist of the problem: that there’s no future!

What do I care about problems like an apartment, family, and children if there is no tomorrow for me? This means total despair, like depression, when a person does not understand what he should live for. And if he gets into this state, then he is ready to do anything at all to destroy this horrible feeling of inner sorrow. That is why people are coming out to the streets and holding revolutions even when they belong to the highest layers of society.

Their inner despair makes them vulnerable to being attuned and turned in this direction, while they don’t even understand what is happening to them. They explain this by a thousand of other reasons, such as the search for justice in society, as if they actually needed it. In reality, they don’t even know what this concept means because a just approach would make their lives even worse than they are today. They’re not looking for justice.

If we examine the serious, inner reasons, from the standpoint of the will to enjoy which we research along its entire depth, then the reason for the protests lies in the fact that there is no tomorrow! And this feeling reigns in the whole world. There is nothing that can be done about the situation unless we give people the light of hope for the future, which can come from just one source – the science of Kabbalah.

In order for the study to become an “elixir of life” rather than a “deadly poison,” it has to start with the intention to attract the Light that reforms. We have to study and open the book only for the sake of our correction.

Kabbalah and all the other holy books, regardless of what language they are written in (for example, the Talmud and Mishna use the language of hints and allegories) are descriptions of our connection with the Light, our spiritual states. All of these books, written by sages, Kabbalists, over the course of our entire history, talk about the spiritual world, our higher states.

If a person studies with the aim of attaining the states and spiritual degrees that the Kabbalists tell us about, like a child who wants to grow up, then first he reaches the revelation of his own evil. It is written, “I created the evil inclination and in addition, the Torah, the means for its correction.”

As long as we were “in exile,” all of that was concealed, but now we are starting to come out of the final exile. And just like during the exodus from Egypt, today we are again standing before the reception of the Torah if we desire to become “as one man with one heart,” to attain mutual guarantee just like by Mount Sinai.

A mountain of hatred is being revealed in front of us (Mount Sinai comes from the word Sinnah – hatred). But even despite that, we unite with the help of our points in the heart, the upper quality, the Moses in us who pulls us upwards and leads us through the desert, through the “preparation period” towards entering the “land of Israel,” meaning the desire for the sake of bestowal.

That is how all of humanity is standing before the mountain of hatred today. It is becoming revealed to us as one for all and is called the global crisis. We are all in the same state, but not everyone understands it fully yet, similar to how that crowd of people included different people as well—men, women, the elderly, and children who barely understood what was happening.

Yet, everyone is already starting to feel this state. It’s just that some already understand that the cause of all of it is our ego and the hatred that divides us, whereas others still experience it as a bad financial situation. Every person feels some kind of lacking depending on his qualities, his environment and needs: one person lacks an apartment, another cottage cheese, a third something else, and so on in all of humanity, every person.
