Dissemination Is What Is In the Heart

229Question: Will our adhesion with the Creator contribute to the dissemination of Kabbalah?

Answer: When you go out to disseminate Kabbalah, what are you spreading? Just a piece of paper with something printed on it? You spread what is in your heart, what you cultivate, exalt, and develop in society. That is what you are spreading, after all.

Of course, if we have determined that “there is none else besides Him,” that adhesion with Him, striving toward Him, connecting with Him in everything that happens to us is the most important thing, and separating from Him is the greatest punishment—then, no matter what you do on the street, even if you present it in a different, much lighter form acceptable to the masses, you are still essentially spreading only what is in your heart.

A Responsibility That Should Not Be Taken Lightly

Humanity Must Be Raised

214.01Question: When a person with a point in the heart first encounters Kabbalah, he does not understand what it is about, but he feels some kind of force, wisdom, and depth in it. Is this feeling similar to the one that should wake up in ordinary people?

Answer: Yes, this can happen. But I do not think people will be precisely oriented toward Kabbalah; most likely it will be toward connection. They will subconsciously feel that it is specifically the search for connection among them that should produce some kind of result, something higher, which should lead them to something else—non-earthly, interplanetary—to a higher intelligence.

Comment: Then what is the point of our attempts to disseminate something on a mass scale so that someone hears the concept of Kabbalah? It seems we are not really disseminating but simply cluttering up the Internet.

My Response: No! Why? Gradually, people read. Can you explain how you came to such a state that today you understand this idea at least a little? Here, you are sitting and disturbing the peace of mind of good people with your questions. How did you get to this?

Comment: In the same way, yes.

My Response: So, what do you want? Why are you taking this opportunity away from them?

Comment: Then it turns out that dissemination is not useless, but you claim that we are filling people with empty content.

My Response: If it were useless, I would not be with you at all. I would be doing something else. Dissemination is necessary. There is nothing you can do about it.

Question: Still, we want to give a strong injection through our dissemination so that it produces some kind of resonance. Do you think there is any benefit from what we are doing? Are there any methods to improve all this before we reach strong unity?

Answer: Undoubtedly, there is a benefit. Undoubtedly, it can be improved. Only dissemination will lead us to finding the correct approach, the method for correcting humanity. There is no other way!
Humanity must be raised because it advances very slowly.

Question: So whether we want it or not, we must enter into external contact with the general public?

Answer: Yes. Baal HaSulam spoke about the need to write books, to disseminate, to open new learning centers.

Comment: But still, as you say, thought lies at the foundation of everything! It does not matter whether there exists some kind of center, but suddenly, unexpectedly, a thought appears in a person. He does not know where it comes from.

My Response: Naturally. But in order to create a serious field of thoughts, we must first involve a huge number of people who, through their small efforts, would create this field.

How to Find a Solution to All the Problems?

275Question: You say that we cannot reach even 1% of the world. But everyone wants to instill unity into our dissemination, and in the end, it turns out that we are not succeeding. Then what is the point of disseminating if you initially know that all of this is empty?

Answer: It is with your emptiness that you fill the world.

Question: But mustn’t there be some kind of solution?

Answer: The solution will appear when you become filled with the Creator. Then there will be a different kind of dissemination. The world will begin to feel that one unified force that resides in you. And the world will begin to go crazy, but in a good sense, because people will suddenly develop a new sensation, and everyone, all across different continents and in various countries, will start talking in different languages about the fact that there is one single governance, one single thought, one single force.

Here and there, all kinds of aspirations, disputes, expressions, opinions, and articles will suddenly begin to appear, and people will begin to perceive this and take it into account.

From within humanity, a new common opinion will emerge—the need to communicate in this way and feel others. People will begin to subconsciously understand that through unification, they can achieve something very special.

They will understand that, being united, they need to dig within, and they will find happiness there, a new idea, some kind of way out of the situation. “Instead of engaging in politics, undermining each other, trying to deceive, let us, on the contrary, try to connect, and there, within our unity, we will find a solution to all problems.” That is what everything will be moving toward.

Question: Is this similar to the feeling when a person with a point in the heart encounters Kabbalah for the first time?

Answer: Yes, it will manifest in people, but not in aspiration for Kabbalah; rather, it will be toward this idea, that the idea of unity must produce a new solution from itself, one that is completely irrational, that we cannot determine, attain, or derive with our minds in some equation.

Only if we strive toward one another, and within this common striving—there, where each can break free from his egoism and create some kind of common desire, a common field, something higher, above our reason—we will suddenly perceive a new mind, a new solution, completely different, not from our level.

How Can We Help People Who Are Not Seeking Spirituality?

281.02Question: How can we help those people who are not walking the path of truth, who are not seeking spirituality?

Answer: I can only feel regret for people who do not feel what I feel. That is all. What else can I do for them?

I can only work to disseminate Kabbalah so that they too will feel a need for the Creator. I cannot simply feel compassion for the suffering masses because that is animalistic pity that has no spiritual goal.

And indeed, if I feel animalistic pity, it means I am not justifying the benevolent governance of the Creator. I must come to a state in which I am able to justify the blows sent by the Creator.

As for the masses, I help them recognize the Creator, the  one who executes the blows, within the blows themseleves. As soon as we attain the executor, sufferings turn into pleasures. But we must be able to explain this to the masses in an accessible way. We must build a process of presenting information about spirituality for the broad public.

The Benefits of Spiritual Development

543.02Question: Rabash writes that when friends gather, they should talk about the benefits of gathering. What does he mean by that?

Answer: The benefits are an abstract concept. It can exist only in relation to my desire. Accordingly, I envision a future fulfillment, which I can earn, with less effort than the pleasure I will receive. Then it is called a benefit—you invest 99, you get 100.

But my desire must be greater than the invested effort, otherwise the desire to receive will not allow me to exert. Therefore, every time we calculate what kind of pleasure we will receive, what the disadvantages are, and how much effort we need to expend.

The benefits we want to get from the process we are going through, I cannot relate to someone else. If a person is still in pursuit of benefits from animal pleasures (food, rest, family, sex) or the pleasures of money, honors, knowledge, then I cannot give him other pleasures instead because abstract ones are not clothed in what he understands. He does not feel them. There has to be a different Kli for this.

The Kelim we initially have are Kelim in which we feel pleasure clothed in something of this world: power, knowledge, education. The closer the pleasure, the more palpable and greater in magnitude it is.

These are animal pleasures; the greatest of these are the pleasures felt through touch and sight. They are followed by more abstract ones, pleasures brought by money, honors, which are things that require a certain level of development.

But it still comes clothed in something: I am honored, respected, more knowledgeable than others, which is a kind of power (knowledge is, in the end, power, albeit a little more abstract).

But if the pleasures are even more abstract, they are not perceived by the Kelim of receiving. They relate to Bina, which is inside Malchut. Even the Klipot are the pleasures Bina feels inside Malchut, and not Malchut itself.

You cannot explain it to people who do not have it. This requires preliminary development. So when they asked me on American radio: “What is special about Kabbalah? Why did it suddenly become open? What do you want?”

I replied that we are in a state where we do not see what will happen tomorrow. The life we live is no good, people are using drugs more and more, there is no family, children have no connection with parents, we do not even know what will happen to us in a second, we are increasingly immersed in such life problems that it becomes necessary to know about reality, how to control fate, how to see which of my actions will lead to enjoyment, confidence, and a good life.

You cannot talk to people in more abstract terms because they will not understand them. They ask, “How do I do this?” Come and learn. If we want to do something in this life in a logical way, we must study it, in any profession, even a shoemaker. Even there, you will find many professional secrets you must master before you start working, and even more so with us.

Become a Conduit of the Creator

031Question: Is the Creator infinite energy that is inconceivable to our imagination?

Answer: It is possible to say it that way. But in principle, the Creator is the quality of bestowal, of emanation. If a person acquires such a quality, then the Creator channels His force into the world through the person, and the person becomes an extension of the Creator.

Question: What does it mean “to bestow to the Creator?”

Answer: You cannot bestow anything to the Creator. That category is absolute perfection.

Question: And what does it mean “to be a conduit of the Creator in this world?”

Answer: It means trying to convey this method to others. As they gradually master it, they too will become conduits of the Creator, the upper light will pass through them, and they will come to perceive themselves as the Creator. By becoming similar to the Creator, a person becomes a conduit of His energy to others.

The Method for Emerging from the Global Crisis

263The wisdom of Kabbalah is a method for uniting people. It teaches that first and foremost a person must correct themselves, and then everything they do will be for the benefit of others.

If we try to unite according to our natural inner impulses without correcting ourselves first, conflicts and problems begin to arise.

The wisdom of Kabbalah explains how to unite correctly. That is why it is so important for us, especially in our time, when families are breaking apart, friendships are dissolving, and people increasingly strive to live alone. When they do unite, it is often for egoistic reasons, which eventually lead to explosions of conflict and divorce.

Egoism has grown so much that we now need to learn the method of true connection. Psychologists and sociologists cannot fully explain why this is happening. Recently, however, they have begun to conclude that this is a global trend throughout the world, and they find themselves confused by it.

The wisdom of Kabbalah must reveal itself in the modern world as a method of positive and benevolent unity. It is needed wherever humanity discovers its inability to unite in a good way and begins to break connections.

As a result, we see divorces in families, quarrels among children, severe fights in schools, conflicts between parents and children, and tensions in the workplace between employers and employees.

Conflicts occur everywhere: between countries, in international politics, within every state, and between political parties. Within any nation there is a clash of many contradictory opinions, movements, and factions.

Soon we will feel completely disconnected, torn apart, and distant from one another. The fragmentation will reach such proportions that a person will feel so many conflicting desires even within themselves that they will become confused and will lose inner peace and balance.

Humanity will feel complete despair and helplessness, and this crisis is gradually developing step by step. In some countries it appears more strongly, in others less so for now. But disconnection spreads like an epidemic and will eventually encompass the entire world.

It will become so great that no person will know how to properly connect with others. An inner blockage will appear, i.e., a lack of understanding and lack of feeling. That is why the wisdom of Kabbalah is being revealed: It is meant to unite people into one human being with one heart. It has the power to do so.
Without connection between us, without proper communication, our development will come to a halt.

We can already see symptoms of this degradation in the world, judging by what is happening with the younger generation: the growing distance between men and women who no longer want to create families or have children, and the increasing popularity of drugs. A person wants to withdraw inward and feel the external world as little as possible because there is nothing pleasant in it.

Therefore, the wisdom of Kabbalah which deals precisely with the correct connection between people will become highly demanded and necessary for everyone.

Add Up the Opposites

254.01Question: You perceive all the processes taking place differently than how they appear in the picture of this world. You said that you have perceived a crisis for a long time, but it still has not manifested itself physically, that is, in the external world. How is this possible? What is this process and why is there such a delay?

Answer: Baal HaSulam explains this in many of his articles. He says that there is an action called “descending from above” and an action called “receiving from below.”

All sorts of commands, actions, and phenomena descend upon us from above. But while they are realized in our perception and while we are conscious of them, a certain amount of time passes. Therefore, there is a delay between descending from above and receiving from below.

Since a Kabbalist is on a level above our world, he sees forces descending into our world, and therefore believes that something needs to be done quickly. And the rest of the people are still in a drunken stupor; they say: “Everything is fine. Why are you panicking there?”

That is how it turns out that a Kabbalist show up, hurries, an shouts like Baal HaSulam 20 years before the Second World War. He said that Jews should escape from Poland, soon Hitler would conquer it.

Messing and other people even warned about this. But no one listened to them, they were silenced, considered enemies of the people, and so on.

I once talked to a major Israeli figure, a man of great culture, a strong industrialist who is very concerned about the future. At one time, he met with the President of the United States and talked with him about the need to quickly change the world, educate people, and encourage them to be kind and loving to each other. But the President didn’t understand anything.

Such an advanced, well-respected politician completely misunderstood him. It is not that I didn’t understand it, but I thought it would be good to do so. This is not the way to go. That is, people still don’t understand.

And they are right, because they act based on what is in our world. Why would they listen to some kind of “mystics,” even though the environment has been faltering for a long time, and everything else is falling apart.

Will they really pay attention to some Kabbalists who wag their fingers at them and say that it is necessary to change relationships in society, to change the social environment in the world? They won’t do it. They don’t have the necessary tools, influence, or upbringing for this.

We see what happens to our children. These are the most precious creatures to our hearts, but we leave them to their fate; as the street or school educates them, so it will be. As a result, we get drugs, promiscuity, emptiness, and complete lack of purpose in life. That is why humanity sees its future so bleakly.

But we don’t even need to correct ourselves, the main thing is that if we could correct the children, guide them correctly, then at least the future generation would live well. We, as adults who love them so much, cannot properly and soberly look at what is happening. This is so stupid! The Creator gives us some kind of clouding from above. If you unfold this whole picture, how can parents treat their children’s future like this?!

The whole education system, the whole world community, has launched this. Everyone raises their hands: “Well, my children will be like that too. What can I do?” They have the same answer as the politicians and say we don’t have the means to correct people.

Therefore, we are heading toward states where suffering will accumulate to such an extent that humanity will howl because it will not be able to hide from problems with its “ostrich policies,” and then it will agree to listen to what the science of Kabbalah has to say.

Question: You speak from the point of view of an ordinary person who sees that he is not understood, the whole world does not hear him. But if creation is arranged completely differently, if it is inside you, then what?

Answer: What difference does it make whether it is inside me or outside? I have to fix this. That is why I’ve been given the opportunity to see it from the outside, to make it easier to fix.

Question: So there must be an appeal to the perception that exists as if from the outside?

Answer: Sure. I have to reach out to people, correct them, and promote Kabbalah so that they will come to me and strive for the same goal—unification.

Question: So it is impossible to do this internally with a small group?

Answer: No, it is not possible. I cannot do the work for others, although these others, as you want to say now, are in me.

Otherwise, you take away freewill from every part of you that you think exists outside of you. This part can correct its selfishness only if it feels free from you and does it on its own. This way you will help each other.

And it is not schizophrenia. The fact that we cannot put several opposite things together in our minds is our problem. This is the problem of the narrowness of our world, because we have only the desire to enjoy and nothing else.

But we have other possibilities to experience the existing universe. In order to develop them, we are given so–called “schizophrenia”: although these are my parts that exist outside of me, and everything around me is me; it is mine, but on the other hand, I have to correct it exactly as if it is not mine, helping them to be independent, and then each part will fix itself.

Having corrected ourselves, we will all come together into one single whole, and all our independent corrections will come together. That is, all our desires will add up to one desire, and all our small screens will add up to one screen.

Inner Work or Dissemination?

234Question: For strengthening the group, what is more important, disseminating Kabbalah or our inner work?

Answer: I don’t think one can exist without the other. If a person understands how important inner work is, how will he express this importance? By the fact that we will simply sit together and study?

I don’t think that is enough. And Baal HaSulam, in the “Introduction to The Book of Zohar,” writes that the Messiah will come precisely from widespread, mass study of the wisdom of Kabbalah. I do not think one can express the desire to deepen inner work in any other way than through dissemination. How else can we be connected to one another? How else can we perform a joint action? You for me, and I for you.

By engaging in dissemination, we sort of draw the Creator; He is found between us. After all, we are gathering in order to advertise the Creator to people. And this is a very effective action alongside the closeness and corrections in which we already find ourselves.

This must be done. From my experience, I see that very large groups, even those that were connected to Rabash, unfortunately ceased to exist solely because they neglected dissemination.

A Kabbalist’s Reaction to Questions Asked

504Question: When you are asked a question, what does it evoke in you?

Answer: A very strong reaction! Sometimes I suddenly start to boil over, or on the contrary, it throws me toward either a scientific presentation, or a psychological one, sometimes humorous, and so on.

A question causes very strong changes in me. Moreover, it can outwardly be, general or ordinary. There does not seem to be a difference between the questions, but inside, I feel a very strong storm tossing me from wave to wave. Therefore, the questions and answers produce huge inner work in me, a kind of inner disturbance.

Question: Does it look like you are getting some kind of injection of selfishness from this person?

Answer: Sure. Necessarily. This is exactly what is meant. I get a wide, strong contact with the audience that asks this question, and based on the breadth of this question, I connect to this audience. It is a lot of stress, like docking in space or something. And according to this docked module, I am already working.

Question: Do you get any content from this?

Answer: I get great satisfaction from clarifying the issue. Because this is an opportunity to fill those souls, those empty vessels that are now connected to me.

The question is the definition of emptiness, and I fill these voids. It gives me great pleasure; not egotistical, like ordinary lecturers. After all, I know how much people who listen to me will make progress even if they do not understand the answer. Even if they cannot realize it yet, it is already written down in their souls.
