Question: Many of your students are at an ordinary level, meaning they do not sense spirituality. Their sensations are no different from those of the public to whom they want to convey information.

How can they better receive the information they wish to obtain in their egoistic feelings, as well as incorporate some informational message into it?

Answer: Yes, this is a problem. They should try. There is nothing else. Try.

By the way, such a person has an advantage because he is in the middle.

On one hand it is a problem. On the other hand, this problem is not artificially created by nature, but is a natural problem that is solved along with our correction.

We need to receive information precisely in its heavy, uncorrected form, and try to make it more accessible. It is this effort that causes our correction. And the correction leads to a different type of information, and so on.

We should understand that all of this is a part of one common solution, that is, a part of one common equation that includes the consumer, the source, the Creator, the teacher, and the students. We all engage in our common self-service together.

Therefore I do not think there is anything that needs to be changed here. We just need to go on this way and keep in mind that our state is a correct one. Accept it as it is and act from it. Do not try to break something in it as you must work within this framework. Then you will see how justified it is.

Question: Should we still sometimes mix with our clientele’s desires?

Answer: Yes, otherwise nothing will work. How can a mother not feel her child? First of all, she feels him with all her soul. And then she begins to feel what else could she add. Only in this way, naturally.

Question: A British movie called Before We Disappear dynamically changes scenes and storylines based on audience feedback. It uses technology to analyze audience reactions and adapts the story depending on the viewers emotional engagement.

If we could program the storyline of our own lives the way we want instead of being dictated by circumstances, could there be an interesting development of events?

Answer: Only a very egoistic person would think about controlling the world in this way. After all, I live in a world where billions of other people also exist. If I want to change myself, my existence, my life path, I inevitably would influence the destinies of everyone else. I cannot act solely based on what I want without affecting others.

Thinking about it is, of course, possible, but it is absolutely unrealistic and will never work! What could work is this: If I wish well for everyone, always think and act in ways that benefit everyone and I know what “good” truly means without making mistakes, then I can positively influence the world.

Question: What if it is not just one person but everyone who wants to do good so that everyone benefits?

Answer: For that to happen, we need to reveal the bigger picture—the fact that we are all interconnected, part of one network, and there is no escaping from each other!

If even in my thoughts I wish something negative for others, even just a little, I am already distorting the entire system of our connections. The system then turns back to me, the one who caused this distortion, and forces me to correct it. It bends me back into place. That is why we are all so unhappy.

We all try to bend each other to our will, but the system works differently, it bends us because each of us creates faulty connections.

Question: What percentage of people would need to desire to develop a caring scenario for this system to change?

Answer: It depends, are we talking about a specific country or the world as a whole? But, in principle, it is possible. Even in a particular region or group of people if they truly desire it. However, this requires changing the individual. And a person can only be changed through education. Without a serious educational system and a thoughtful approach to people, it will not happen.

How can you even approach people with this? First, they need the desire for it. Today, such desires are slowly forming.

Only then can you approach people and share what you have. And what do I have? I have the key to happiness, not just any happiness, but eternal, perfect happiness! At this point, people become bewildered: “What eternal, perfect happiness? I do not even want to open my eyes in the morning.”

Question: Can a person desire this on their own?

Answer: To do so they would need to go through very serious trials.

Comment: This leads to a very pessimistic scenario.

My Response: I am not pessimistic because the program of nature exists and it will lead us to this outcome. I only wish to soften its course. That is all! I have no pessimism whatsoever. I act, I believe, to the fullest extent possible.

Comment: It is a life’s work. When people dedicate themselves to their life’s work, they draw inexhaustible motivation from the process itself.

My Response: You might think that a Kabbalist has endless energy, that their inner volcano is constantly bubbling and erupting with steam through its summit.

Question: So what is the constant driving force for a Kabbalist?

Answer: Only one thing—direct connection with the Creator who governs everything and with whom you must constantly feel mutual action, a partnership.

Question: Why do you say it is preferable to watch lessons in a large group? Does it  amplify your information?

Answer: Of course. It is said: “In the multitude of people is the King’s glory.” We are very small by ourselves. But if a thousand people are listening to a lesson, wow! And if it is ten thousand? WOW! We look at the headcount and the numbers, but we do not understand the quality.

Question: Is the group a very strong amplifier?

Answer: Yes, there is a big difference between whether I give information to one person or a thousand. After all, it is distributed among all according to each person’s disposition. There are instances when you can study with one person, expressly tune them in, and lead them toward a spiritual goal. However, there is no such thing today. Today it is only going out to the masses.

At one time I was a student of Rabash, and he was constantly engaged with me. Every morning we went for walks together, and every week we would go on a two-day trip to Tiberias. However, these are isolated instances that Kabbalists had in the past.

But now we have crossed a line, and I do not think it can happen again. There is no such option today. I do not see anyone I can bring near me and shape into a leader of the next generation.

This would be in great contrast with all the others and would harm the general dissemination of Kabbalah, which is very relevant now.

In the past, there was no way to disseminate, but this is no longer the case. Nowadays dissemination is only for the masses.

Question: You constantly say that the group is the most important thing we should focus on. But at the same time, you’ve mentioned that you didn’t have a group. How were you able to overcome that and make progress without it?

Answer: Everyone has their own path, and often we don’t even understand why things happen to us the way they do. For each person, it’s very individual both internally and externally. That’s fate. This is how I was led to the study of Kabbalah, and this is how I continue to be guided.

Is it really me doing or creating anything today? Absolutely not. When someone says the name “Michael Laitman,” I don’t associate myself with it at all! It feels like I’m nameless.

When I’m introduced as a doctor, philosopher, Kabbalist, or head of Bnei Baruch, it feels like that’s the title of someone else. It’s as if I put on a robe, sit in an important chair, and lead from there. Then I move over here and sit in my “pajamas.” Because these are completely different people. Completely different!

Comment: But you have only one mind.

My Response: I’m not talking about that, but about the role I have to play. I know that I’m compelled to do it, that I’m being driven to it, it’s necessary, and I do it. I agree with it, I’m grateful for it because I understand its importance and, essentially, I know that I need it.

This is the case for many people in the world who hold significant positions. A person can’t just leave it behind; the role obligates them. Any major leader would probably love to escape to a village somewhere, relax, and just be themselves for a while. And if we’re talking about a mother of a large family, she knows she’s obligated to do what she does for the sake of her children.

I simply feel my duty. And beyond that, I feel an obligation from above, not just on a corporeal level, where someone appoints you and that’s it. In the same way, I was led to Rabash, and that’s exactly how he related to me.

One of my friends who studied with Rabash once recalled going to the sea with him and asking why he treated Laitman the way he did. Rabash replied, “That’s his soul. It makes me relate to him this way.” I didn’t even know or imagine that he would say something like that to others.

So, it’s a role, not some sort of privilege, a role imposed on a person based on the root of their soul so that they fulfill it within the general system. It may be important or not important relative to others, but that doesn’t matter. It’s simply a role.

We can talk about the importance of parents in relation to their children. But fundamentally, their importance lies in the fact that they are obligated to care for their children, not in the fact that they are bigger, stronger, or smarter. On the contrary, they are obliged to do everything to serve their children. The same goes for me.

You might say, “But there’s also vanity and self-importance.” If that’s the case, then a person loses everything. Because when fulfilling a role assigned by the Creator, ultimately doing His work, if a person seeks personal satisfaction, power, or vanity instead of asking for spiritual elevation, the quality of bestowal, they miss the point entirely.

I nullify myself not before their outward expressions, but in relation to the inner divine desire and fulfillment that exists within each of them, within every person in the world. But they are unaware of this.
