Ask For What The Creator Wants To Give

laitman_962.7The Creator created the creation with the desire to enjoy, which is the opposite of the Creator. All inanimate, vegetative, and animate nature acts by instinct and cannot change anything. A person, however, is given the opportunity to change his nature if he finds a way to turn to the Creator and ask for it.

If a person organizes an environment through which he can receive desires that are opposite to his original nature, then he can formulate a need for the Creator and ask for the desire to bestow. The Creator will then give him a second nature so that he can use his desire to enjoy with the intention for the sake of bestowal. This is how a person becomes similar to the Creator.

The Creator receives pleasure when we demand from Him because His desire is to bestow: the more we receive from Him, the more we bestow to Him. We can give Him nothing except our desires which require fulfillment. However, it is necessary to ask only for the sake of the Creator’s enjoyment, then it is the correct intention. If I ask because I feel bad, then this is still an egoistic request.

The correct request is to ask for what the Creator wants to bestow to us. It is like a child who wants a ball, but he knows that he will bestow more pleasure to his father if he asks for an encyclopedia. However, the father feels his son thoroughly and cannot be deceived. Therefore, the son must enter the correct environment that will change his desires so that instead of playing football, he would be more interested in studying geography.

Then he will come to his father and ask for the book from the bottom of his heart, bestowing to him immense pleasure not through the book itself, but by the fact that he changed himself following his father’s example. The person’s entire work is to ask, but to ask for the correct things every time so that the Father will enjoy our request. This is called “to make your desire like His desire.”1

It is written: “My sons defeated Me.” This means that we must influence the Creator so that He will correct us all the time, draw us, and push us forward. However, one can influence the Creator only to the extent of similarity of properties. It is impossible to reach out to Him with shouts and requests—a connection between our properties is needed. Such properties appear only under the condition that I am in the correct environment, in the ten built on similarity to the Creator. If we transfer our desires for bestowal to the Creator, we receive the power to realize them from Him. This is how we come from love of created beings to the love of the Creator.2

If we raise the correct request to the Creator, then we begin to understand His answer, to appreciate what we receive from Him. Maybe I asked for a ball, like a child, and the father gave me a book on geography. I then see how much more useful the book is for me and how I should change in order to perceive it as a gift from the Creator and not be angry that I did not receive the ball. If I work correctly in the ten, I will see that the world is changing for the better for me.3

All matter is a desire to enjoy. Each element, every atom, wants to preserve itself, its structure, its nature, and its texture. Each particle exists due to the fact that it resists its destruction. In order to split a tiny elementary particle, people build huge installations, colliders. It takes a lot of energy to split a particle and see what it consists of. This shows what a strong desire to enjoy is instilled in each particle by the Creator. In the effort to split elementary particles, we are essentially studying what the Creator has put inside creation.

The simpler the material, the stronger is its desire to enjoy. The more matter develops, the more complicated this desire becomes, and therefore, it weakens and can no longer maintain itself. That is why the heaviest elements begin to emit energy, radiation, and decompose.

The most dead, primitive particle, has the greatest strength received from the Creator. Therefore, the more developed a person is, the more doubts and problems, ups and downs, he has. However, if he freezes himself at the inanimate level, he does not worry about anything and continues today just as yesterday.4

Revealing The Creator’s Attitude

laitman_962.1The descent of the worlds from top to bottom is built in such a way that due to its actions, the creation increasingly reveals its Master’s attitude toward it. It seems to be in the process of research. In the spiritual world, it is impossible to search for answers with our rational logic—we must penetrate it sensorially and then we will understand more. Then, from our sensations, we can find an explanation in our reason.

Imagine that I am standing in front of the Master with my desire to enjoy and now I reveal His attitude toward me at a certain level. I begin to work with it; I reject this pleasure, and make clarifications. At the same time, my desire is developing and refining after the spiritual action I have made, and so I suddenly feel that the Creator has done much more for me than I previously thought. It seems that I have grown up and realized it, similar to how, after becoming older, a child justifies his parents for what they demanded of him.

Then, my screen is reduced; I can no longer stand up against what I had managed before. It would seem that the screen should have grown because I understood more. But this is not what happens and I feel that I can do nothing but annul myself before the desire of the upper one.

I reveal the growing love of the Creator toward me and my inability to respond to Him in the same way. Therefore, all the degrees of the descent of the worlds (Olamot) are called the degrees of concealment (Alamot). The creation has no way out; it blocks itself with screens, hiding the upper light and the Creator’s attitude toward it in order to hide behind them and somehow survive. These are not degrees of honor, but rather degrees of weakness. All this is happening not at the expense of the creation, but at the expense of the Creator who is building a spiritual vessel.1

Energy From Thin Air

laitman_294.1The egoistic desire works perfectly in this world when it clearly sees a reward in front of it, can weigh the benefits of its actions, and then decide where and how much to exert. Egoism can fight for a reward.

However, when it comes to the desire to bestow, we have no strength to produce it. We see no reward and have no motivation to act. It turns out that the need to perform an action for the sake of bestowal cancels the desire to receive in us, and we cannot move with it. We feel as if we have no arms, no legs, no head, and no energy. If there is no motivation, then I cannot move, I’ll just stay in bed.

I need some kind of incentive to get up. Problems then come along that afflict me. I then realize that problems are, in fact, good for me, because they wake me up to act.

If we do not work with our desire to receive, then we can’t do anything. Everything would stop. Imagine the desire to receive, egoism—the world’s foundation, every atom and particle—suddenly switched off all over the world. The world would remain completely motionless because movement takes place to fulfill a deficiency. If the ego does not want anything, it will remain inactive.

The world would stop. There would be complete silence, and this means that everything would disappear. If electrons stopped spinning in an atom, it would disappear because it has nothing but these rotations, a deficiency. Only deficiency moves matter, and if deficiency disappeared, movement would stop and matter would disappear. Matter is a deficiency.

How is it possible to perform actions of bestowal? How can you build a second floor, an altruistic one, without stifling the material condition? Let matter continue to work, it does not interfere with us; on the contrary, it helps. After each ascent we will always fall to the corporeal level so that, from that level, we will rise even higher. How do we find a new fuel not based on the desire to receive, but on the desire to bestow?

How can we want to bestow? This is the main question. Its answer is the key to success because humanity has developed enough in order to reach the end of correction. The only question is how to find the force of bestowal in every state. This force already exists, but we need to extract it. It will not come by itself, otherwise it would have been revealed in the world long ago.

The need for it is already inherent in a person because everyone asks, “What kind of life is this? What are we living for? What is the point?” Yet, it goes no further because even the force of bestowal we want to receive egotistically, but it does not come in this way.

The question is what kind of mechanism should we build in order to receive the force of bestowal through it, which would fill the whole of reality? Astrophysicists say that there is energy that fills the entire universe. We think that space is a vacuum, but in fact, it is full of energy.

They are now trying to extract this information in the writings of the famous researcher Tesla who kept them secret in his time. They think that he found a way to get energy directly from air. Indeed, it is not an empty space, it is full of energy. The question is how to open this energy source? Instructions for how to do this is in front of us—it is a Kabbalistic book.

The Kabbalist sages say that this energy can be received through the ten. Through the ten, we connect to the space filled with the force of bestowal, called “the Creator.” The ten works like a modem or an adapter connecting us to this concealed force.

This force will always remain in concealment. It is revealed only within the ten as if in a detector of this upper force. To the extent of my inclusion in the ten, my connection with it, and my efforts to awaken it to connection with the upper force, I receive this energy of bestowal. It is as if I insert my plug into the socket and start receiving energy. This is the only way it works.

Then we will discover that we are inside the field of the upper force, which “is good and does good.” It is the only force, nothing other than it exits. All the opposing forces are concentrated only within me in order to help me connect to this upper force and begin receiving energy from it.1
