The longer we are in the Egyptian exile, the more we want to come out of it. However, if we were there for a short time, then the desire to come out would be small. These two forces work in parallel—recognition of evil and coming out to the good—the greater one is, the more the other grows. Therefore, the exodus from Egypt is impossible without the sensation that you are in the grip of the egoism.1
We only need to strive toward the goal and each one will reveal whatever is necessary according to the root of his soul. This is not going anywhere, after all we are stepping on our Reshimot (informational data) by which the way to the end of correction is paved. There is no doubt where I will step next: Reshimo on the left, Reshimo on the right and so I advance walking on Reshimot. They are already laid out in front of me, only the speed of advancement and its character depend on me.2
The entire wisdom of Kabbalah and the work of a person are to discover the oneness of the Creator in practice, by becoming a part of that oneness. When I determine that “there is none else besides the Creator,” it means that I am becoming a part of Him. If we become like a punch and a matrix, a seal and an imprint, it is considered that I have built my soul.3
At first, I perceive the Creator and the Pharaoh as two completely opposite forces: the good and the evil, as if in this world I receive a reward or a punishment. Suddenly, I begin to reduce the difference between them more and more until I discover that there is neither evil nor good, but only my connection with “There is none else besides Him.” Therefore, it doesn’t matter to me what I receive from Him, the main thing is that it is from Him!4
If the Creator puts an obstacle before me, it means that beforehand He already arranged everything I need in order to overcome this obstacle. As it is written: “Holiness is increased, not decreased.” The Creator always gives us an opportunity to strengthen ourselves, connect, find new strength, and move forward. He makes a step forward first, and then from the new state sends us burdening of the heart in order to pull us closer to Him. We take a step after the Creator. He leads the way and we follow Him.5
How can we approach Passover in complete readiness in order to be worthy of the exodus from Egypt? We need to unite more. We have enough strength to exit, all we need is unity. Let’s hope that we will reach such connection that is suitable for the exodus from Egypt. That is, that we will feel an acute need to come out of the egoistic love and to unite so that the ten will become as one. Then from the minus, from separation, we will come to one whole, and then we will begin to increase, to grow this unit, due to these disturbances.
First we come from two opposite force, good and evil, to one force, to the point of exiting Egypt. Then from this point, two forces grow again: plus and minus.
First, we connect the good and the evil forces by determining that everything comes from the same Creator. Then we increase the Creator by rising above the disturbances, above the force of evil.6

A person on a spiritual path can also encounter common problems in life. The question is whether he links them to the light of tomorrow, and thus, is he willing to suffer today. There are many people who agree to searches and restrictions for the sake of future achievements, for example, scientists who conduct scientific research, or mothers willing to endure labor pains and nine months of pregnancy to give birth to a baby.
Although it is suffering, it is chosen voluntarily. Therefore, you cannot say that suffering is always bad. If the goal justifies the suffering, then I am ready to go through it as a payment for the desired outcome. In general it is not clear if I could have achieved this goal without suffering. A free gift is usually not valued because there is no vessel for it, no desire, it is not achieved through one’s own efforts. I have not developed sensitivity for feeling this pleasure.
It cannot be said that suffering is only evil. We are created from the desire to enjoy and can feel spiritual fulfillment only if the desire is properly processed by the light and takes on a special form.
Look at the difference between an inanimate stone and a human body, which is so intricately arranged that we do not even understand how it works or the connections inside it. We know almost nothing about it. And all this is due to the fact that the light created a human body through many actions. Even creating a material body takes a lot of work. It is all due to suffering: the light struck the desire to enjoy, broke it, and connected it in various ways. How long did the development of the universe take until, as a result, human beings appeared?
All suffering has a clear goal; the only question is how, by getting involved in the work, to use suffering purposefully. Suffering then becomes sweet; instead of feeling the suffering, we will enjoy it. Research shows that even at the physiological level, laughter and crying are one and the same process in the body.1
When you receive suffering, you must immediately turn to the Creator and affirm that it comes from Him, the good that does good, for the sake of my advancement toward the goal. This entire world means nothing, and all of its petty, vile pricks are just to constantly keep me aimed at the Creator. “There is none else besides Him,” all this is shown to me by the Creator to draw my attention so that I would appeal to Him.
I put my foot forward to take the next step and turn to the Creator. One more step—I turn to Him again, and so on all the time. If I do not take my eyes off the Creator, then I will not stumble. Thus, we advance toward the connection with the Creator until we enter the state of a spiritual embryo.2
I should always feel some deficiency so that I have a reason to turn to the Creator. Every time I get a stimulus, it directs me toward “There is none else besides the Creator.” When I fulfill the measure corresponding to the root of my soul, perform a sufficient amount of actions that return me to the Creator and I associate them with Him, I begin to feel that I am in the “field blessed by the Creator.” That is, I no longer need to search for where the Creator is hiding, I feel myself in the field of His bestowal.
This is the attainment of the state of spiritual embryo. And before that, there is preparation for it, excitement: the Creator pulls me toward Him and pushes me away, pulls and pushes away. This is similar to physical copulation: entrances and exits. In the same way as the conception of a corporeal fetus, our entry into the holy Shechina takes place.3
I want to constantly depend on the Creator no matter if I am feeling good or bad. I rise above the external cause that pushed me toward the Creator and just want to be inside Him! That means that I am becoming a spiritual embryo.
It is necessary to constantly search and collect the desires leading one to the entry to the embryo. It is said: “Only His goodness and grace will chase me.” The Creator sends the excitement. He awakens a new desire in me to enjoy, and I feel bad, I start looking for Him and reach a certain connection in the light of Hassadim. He then awakens another desire to enjoy in me, and I seek Him again. And so every time: start – stop, entry – exit. All of these actions together are called “intercourse.”
After a person performs a sufficient number of such actions, “his seed becomes blessed”; that is, he turns into a drop of spiritual seed that penetrates into the womb, into the Creator, and becomes an embryo.4

Currently, we are under the complete control of the Creator, carrying out everything that nature, meaning the Creator, dictates to us. We do not realize and do not feel that we are acting according to the directions of a foreign, external force, believing that we fulfill our own desire. Yet, in fact, it is not us at all.
I am created from the desire to enjoy and I work according to the program embedded in this biological computer, thinking that this is me: my desires, my thoughts, my aspirations are all mine. I have nothing except this.
Actually, an outside force acts in me, which clothed itself on me, drives me, leads me, and twists me in all directions. I am so attached to it that I think that it is me. I do not feel any distinction between us, and this is called the inanimate level.
It is very important to feel this, literally to feel this in all your internality, because then you have a chance to disengage from this external force and become free, that is, come out of the Egyptian slavery.1
Natural scientists, biologists and zoologists can confirm that a person has no free choice and that is completely controlled by his nature, which determines all his behavior. A person is a result of various internal chemical and electrical processes occurring in the body and head. He has no freewill and is not responsible for his thoughts. It is a machine operating under the control of chemical and electrical signals that are generated inside it. There are many serious scientific articles on the Internet confirming this.
And where does anything else in a person come from? In the process of training and upbringing, we bring in additional programs such as: education, shame, ethics, all kinds of calculations that elevate him above simple animal and make him a human being. But all these programs that determine our decisions and are hidden from us, do not leave us any free choice.
Our task is to want to come out of this inanimate degree in order to reach the landlord of the program and change His decision, meaning to force Him to control us in a new way. Only through the Creator we will be able to act differently. One can change something within oneself only by turning to the Creator in order to force Him to change us, as it is written: “My sons have defeated me.”2
A person begins at the point where he suddenly feels that he is managed by the force of the Creator and he disagrees with this governance. He calls this upper governance “Pharaoh” and wants to come out of this slavery. Pharaoh is an upper force that constantly dictates to me what I should do. Yet, I do not want to be controlled this way. If I feel that I am entirely under control of the Creator and have no opportunity to resist His orders, I am considered inanimate.
When can we discover that we are under the full control of the Creator? Only when we want to come out of it: by the contrast between the two. I want to do an action that is not dictated by the Creator and there is only one such action: in order to bestow. If I try to do it, I will understand that I am incapable of it because I am fully immersed in reception and want to remain in it, and this is my entire life.
It means that in order to understand that I am in the inanimate state, I must want to become “a plant”! Only by such oppositeness can I acknowledge my state.3
It is possible to move from the inanimate to the vegetative state only in the ten. Each one of us is inanimate, but if we influence a person correctly, we will give him an opportunity to become vegetative. Nine friends are working on one, the way the Creator works on ten. We need to work on each one in the ten like the Creator works on us.4
How does an inanimate molecule become organic because it consists of inorganic chemicals? Yet, when they connect in a special way, according to the rules of valency, they move to the vegetative level, that is, they become alive. Life is a result of connection. When inanimate particles connect with each other, they turn into plants or even into animals.
We do not know how this happens; we just see that this is how it is. Inside the connection, the upper force is concealed, the Creator. Therefore, it is considered that everything comes from the inanimate, from the earth. There is nothing special in a plant, animal, or human, apart from an additional spiritual force that comes from above because below we have an aspiration to connect. This is the secret of life.5
Before the connection, there is no ten—just ten people sitting together. The ten begins from the fact that we are trying to connect and wait for the force from above to come and connect us so that instead of inanimate, individual atoms, we become an organic matter. Every atom of the human body is inanimate in itself, but the connection between them gives birth to life. The means for rising from the inanimate degree is connection.
Why does one connection create only inanimate matter and another one creates life? It is all about the desire to become like the upper degree, to become vegetative. The force that awakens this desire is not at our degree, but comes from the higher level, penetrating us through the sparks hidden inside of us.6

After we enter Egypt, we start working only on our unity. This is our only goal: the Creator should reveal Himself in the center of the group. Therefore, we descend to Egypt realizing how necessary the unity is, but we are absolutely incapable of attaining it. We do not want to go there, but we have no choice because we feel that if we do not go for this connection, there will be famine: we will be left with nothing and will never reach spirituality.
This is all possible due to the connection between Jacob and Joseph. As soon as Jacob finds out that Joseph lives in Egypt, he thinks only about how to meet him.
A typical egoist does not think about unity, he just wants to reveal the Creator, to reach the upper world, to feel eternity, perfection, spiritual attainment, to feel immortal and not like an animal destined to die. Those are the dreams of a small egoist. Egypt, the Pharaoh, need to be added to this small egoistic desire in order to really attain the upper world, that is, the purpose of creation.
This requires adding immense egoism, a lot of properties, to our desire to enjoy, which is why we are forced to descend into Egypt. The Creator organizes this for us, as promised to Abraham, and without it, we would be unable to reach the land of Israel.
The Creator showed Abraham the land of Israel, the desire to receive pleasure completely corrected for bestowal in which the creation is merged with the Creator, the end of correction. Abraham asked if it were possible? Where will such a desire come from? There is neither such a great desire to enjoy nor to bestow corresponding to it. He did not have the three lines, only one, a small illumination from the upper light, which was enough for him.
You can enter the land of Israel only with the three lines. If the left line, the Pharaoh, grows, then the right line will grow accordingly. And by connecting the two lines together, you can reach the land of Israel, the desire fully aimed at bestowing to the Creator.
The Creator told Abraham that He would take care of it, and He brought the whole group of Abraham to the condition called “Egypt” and then led them out and gave the Torah. All this was possible because from the very beginning Abraham had an intention to unite. He thought that this could be done individually.1
Pithom and Ramses are beautiful cities for Pharaoh, but poor and miserable for the people of Israel. Pharaoh and Israel are two opposite poles. I observe from Pharaoh’s side and then from the Creator’s side. If I observe from Pharaoh’s point of view, I see how wonderful my egoistic desire is, which can be enjoyed in my country, Egypt.
If I overcome this egoism, if I do not want to enjoy myself in Egypt but want to rise higher, then I cry out, not to the Pharaoh, but to the Creator, asking for help and salvation. The Creator then elevates me from the state of Pharaoh to another state, and from there I see that everything I have built, these cities, are not at all beautiful, but miserable. I feel no benefit in anything I have done, that is, I have not approached perfection and bestowal at all. Therefore, I cry to the Creator and ask for my correction. Through the feeling of the miserable cities of Pithom and Ramses, the Creator brings me to correction.
I will then see these cities built by me in Egypt differently, in a spiritual form. When I complete these miserable cities with corrections, with the light of Hassadim, building the intention of bestowal upon my desire to enjoy, I will turn all Egypt into the Garden of Eden (paradise). Then, it will not be Egypt, but the land of Israel.2
The exodus from Egypt is an escape, with eyes closed, to unification; this possibility suddenly opens up before us like the Red Sea. I jump into the unity, into the Red Sea, and I cross it. After that, we begin to work consistently on our connection, on mutual guarantee, on our unity: either we unite or this will be our burial place.3
